"DOT doesn't do traffic anymore, that's us bud, I've got a unit en route now"

"TU-1 is en route to Eastbound Interpass, code 2." I pull out of the parking lot and head to the far end, blocking with my car about 500 feet down and activating my warning lights.

(( I think he's asking if there are scrolling matrix boards on the interpass. We have them where I'm from, but only on highways. In either case, we'll handle it.))

(Well the interpass isn't a huge highway, it's more of a fourlane road )
"Understood TU1, advise when on scene"

((I was just clarifying his statement, but anyhow.))

"I'm on scene and setting up now, COPA." I pull out some cones and put them in a merge angle. As Thomas covers the shifting traffic, I get back on the radio. "TU-1 to PC-5, We've got you covered with traffic. Go ahead and see what you can do with that car."

*After dropping Stone off at the station to pick up his own car I drive back to the residential district*

*As i'm driving I notice a house that the front door is wide open*

"8 to dispatch: So me out at 254 First Ave. Possible B&E in progress. Requesting additional units, Be advised PPD is also enroute to assist"

*I stop my car and shut off all my lights*

*I open my door and grab my flashlight as I see three PPD cars pull up*

'Alright guys front door is wide open, haven't seen anything yet'

*A PPD Sergeant walks up and takes control of the scene*

*I pick up my radio as I hear the call for additional units go through the radio.
"PC-4 enroute to assist."
*I turn on the lights in my vehicle and begin to accelerate, slowing down nearly to a stop at intersections making sure they are clear before continuing through.
--A few minutes later.--
*I make a right onto 1st Ave. and see several flashing lights in the distance from emergency vehicles, as they are red and blue. I then pick nup the radio from the center console and press the button on the side of it.
"PC-4 on scene."
*I slowly decelerate, and come to a complete stop near a few PPD vehicles, and switch my director bar in the rear of my police vehicle on. I then switch the car from 'D' to 'P', grab my hat and put it on and pull the handle on the door, and then push the door open. I then exit at a comfortable speed from my police vehicle. I then walk towards an ERTPD vehicle I see.

'Hey Lidner, nobody has their lights on. We are trying not to draw attention to the area so if their are people in there we can surprise them'

*I walk over to the Sergeant*

'Alright, Jones and Boswell yall take the back.'

*He looks at me*

'Brandon, you go with the ERT guys'

*I notice Jones and Boswell moving toward the back*

'Ok, we will enter together and leave together.'

'Brandon, you take point and Lidner I want you on his 6 the entire time'

'When we get to the front door, make sure you announce that we are police. I don't want it to be nothing and someone start shooting at us.'

*I turn the volume down a little bit on my handheld so it won't blare while we are inside*

'Lidner, ready when you are'

(woopsy, assumption gone bad haha)
*I walk back to my patrol vehicle and turn off the police lights and then return to Lafferty.
'Let's go'
*I say with a little more (For the lack of a better word in my head at the moment) sarcasm than actually necessary and quickly, but quietly follow the PPD officers.

'Haha, glad your ready'

*We get to the front door*

'Ok, Brandon announce our enrty'

'POLICE DEPARTMENT, anyone in here?

*No answer*

'Alright let's head In'

*We move into the living room and notice nobody is there, next we clear the kitchen and front bedrooms*

"8 to dispatch: first three rooms are clear"

*We get to the back bedroom and see someone going through the closet*

'Police turn around slowly'

*The subject complies and we detain him and walk out front*

'Dave, the house belongs to a Mr. Riley'

* After checking his pockets we find out his name is Darren McDaniel*

'What are you doing here?

'Robbing it.'

'Really?'

'Yesh, I aint going to lie to you'

'Alright'

*A ppd officer puts him in the car and takes him to the city jail*

'We will take care of him guy's

'Alright, Lidner we can clear I guess'

"8 to dispatch be advised I'm back available

'Alrighty, Nice to see criminals are getting more honest.'
*I chuckle and tip my hat to him.
'Have a good day.'
*I make my way back to my patrol car and get in and open my bag searching for my lunch and see I forgot it at home. I then hit my hands on the horn causing it to go off. I then grab my radio.
"PC-4 out for lunch."
*I say pulling out from the side of the road and heading towards steak n shake.

*I get back in my car and go back on patrol*

*A few minutes later my phone rings and the PPD Sergeant calls me*

*He tells me this subject was wanted for more than a half dozen other burglaries*

*I dial Lidners number and inform him of the bust*

"8 to dispatch: I will be out for lunch at the restaurant I will have my cell and handheld"

*I, after finishing eating my meal in my patrol vehicle, use a napkin and wipe the area near my lips clean with it and put it in the steak 'n' shake bag and put it on the floor near the passenger seat, to be picked up later. I then start pick up my radio and press the button on the side of it.
"PC-4 Back in service"
*I the pull out of the parking lot of the facility and begin driving around town looking for any violations. I look over and here a loud ding and look around and see a kid with rocks in his right hand.
"PC-4, I have possible vandalism on 400 North Twin, send me another unit code 1."
*I then flip on my lights and pull to the side of the road. I quickly exit my patrol vehicle and gently, but quickly shut the door. I then walk onto the sidewalk and see the kid walking away, in a quick manner.
'Hey, Kid!'
*I begin jogging after him, and see he is walking even quicker.
'Hey, You!, Police!, Stop now!.'
*The kid begins jogging now and goes into an alleyway. I then give pursuit, nearly sprinting.
"Units Responding Upgrade to code 2, suspect may be evading."
*I Get behind him and the kid begins running down the alleyway towards a bike.

"PC-8 is enroute to assist 4"

*I say as I turn on my lights*

"PC-8 to PC-4 can you give me an update"

*I say as I come to a stop at a stoplight and make sure cars have stopped before proceeding through*

*I begin sprinting after the suspect trying to get him before he gets to his bike. I get within arms length from the kid when he hops on the bike.
"*Heavy Breathing Heard* Uhh the kid got away, he's on a uh red bike."

*I get near the area and keep driving around and don't see any kids or red bikes*

"8 to 4: I will circle the block, but I don't see any kids on red bikes"

*I drive around the block and pull up next to Lidner and turn off my lights*

'Yeah, I didn't see anything'

*I pick up my food and begin to eat it*

'Well, thats great, you know what I do in my free time? I throw rocks at cars, Great Idea huh!'
*I catch my breath and make my way back to my patrol vehicle once I make it back I enter my patrol vehicle, and sit there thinking
"PC-4 Clear of Possible Vandalism."

*I finish eating and continue on patrol*

*I head over to the Truitt area and wait for a call*

*As i'm driving over I hear Truitt SO Deputies TC-3 and TC-5 check out with a pedistrian I am unable to hear where at*

*After a few minutes they come back on the radio*

"TC-5 county: Run one by name and date of birth"

"County: Go ahead 5"

"TC-5: Richard Clancy DOB: 12/14/82

"County: 5 your subject Richard Clancy, has a ID card only. Lengthy traffic . . . . Standy by 5"

"TC-5: 10-4 county"

"County: 5, your subject is currently wanted for multiple assault and battery charges"

"TC-5: 10-4 county, were goint to go ahead and detain him"

"County: 10-4 5"

*After about 3 minutes the radio suddenly comes to life with yelling*

"TC-3 county: We need addit (unreadable) units he (Unreadable) ting us"

"County: 10-4 3. . . . 3 be advised we don't have any other units in service. Just hold on we will get help to you."

"PC-8 county: What is their location?"

"County to PC-8: Their out on Truitt Road North with a pedistrain"

"PC-8: 10-4 county I will be enroute"

*I flip on my lights as I push harder on the gas*

"PC-8 to COPA: Be advised i'm enroute to an officer assist off Truitt Road North, can we roll a couple additional units?"

*I put my mic back on the clip as I turn on my siren*

*I hear county calling for both units but they aren't responding*

'Come on guys answer'

*I say to myself as I blow throut a green light pushing my charger*

*I make sure my vest is on tight and speed toward the scene.* "PC-5 en route code three. COPA, advise TAC!" *I say a prayer in my head, put a rosary on my mirror, and call my wife and tell her I love her*

"6 backing 8 and 5 on assistance call."

*I look at my computer as dispatch sends me the call.*
*I reach down and hit the release on my shotgun and set it by the seat next to me.*

"5 be advised, we're monitoring the situation, though it shouldn't escalate we don't think."
*I turn on one of the unit monitors, and bring up in the four panes, cams from 5, 6, and 8. I leave the fourth panel on the monitor empty just incase.*
'God, I could really use a hand here again' I say to myself
(Remember, this is patrol, lets not make it too big)

"TU-1 COPA, Has the vehicle been moved? I saw PC-5 leave emergency and want to make sure we can clear"

(Something like this happened yesterday in the county. Don't worry it won't be big)

*I make a left on to Truitt Road North*

"PC-8 to other units enroute i'm turning onto Truitt Road North at this time"

*I put my mic back on the clip as I see flashing lights up ahead*

I head out onto the Interpass on my bike, needing to run back to my house to grab some reports I needed to hand in. As I fly down the road, quickly coming up on the Interstate flyover, and as I pull onto Fifth Avenue, I see a small car off the road, in a bush, with both doors open, and the number plates ripped off the back.
"1105 is out on Fifth on my Bike, dealing with an abandoned vehicle." I said into my radio as I slowed the bike down and pulled it up by the kerb, kicking down the stand and turning on the rear lights, I could see a family, who probably owned the house outside the house talking with someone, and realised it was a PPD officer as I stepped round. I recognised him from the desk at the PPD station when I'd been then, and gave them a quick wave as I headed back to my bike and jetted off.

"1105 is enroute to Station." I said, having run into my house and grabbed a bag, which I'd tossed in the pannier, then gunned the throttle as I hammered it down the road, just on the speed limit, but faster than the cars in the built-up traffic. I quickly crossed the Interstate, and before I knew it, I was on the Interpass, flying between the cars, as I quickly reached the station, and headed back inside.

*I grab the radio mic off my console*

"COPA, PC-7, be advised that I am en route code 2 to PC-8's call for assistance"

*I hit the lights on my new-to-me patrol car and give the front impact plate on my vest a tap, just for my own sanity, and grab the mic again*

"PC-8, PC-7, I'm on my way Dave, hang in there boss"

*I reach up and switch to county dispatch channel on my radio, and key up the mic*

"County, PC-7, en route to your assistance call code 2"

((Good move Thomas, I was wondering the same thing.)) I throw a hand signal to Thomas and head over to the disabled vehicle PC-5 had been on scene with.

After inspecting the vehicle, I call Thomas on car to car. "Thomas, it's just an abandon. Let's get this cleared up fast so we can get on our way."

I switch my radio over to local dispatch. "ERT Traffic to PPD dispatch, can we get a tow out to the Interpass? I've got a disabled vehicle, no occupants blocking a lane."
PPD-"Copy ERT, tow is en route."

*I swing the car onto North Trulitt Road, and reach down and un-latch the shotgun, and grab 4 or 5 shells out of the console, and put them on the passenger seat. Then I grab my mic and key up*

"COPA, PC-7, on scene on North Trulitt Road"

*I take off down North Trulitt Road toward the mass of flashing lights*

*I pull up on scene and see both deputies foghtig with a guy*

*I run up to the deputies*

*As I run I help them get the guy in handcuffs*

"8 to all units subject is in custody."

"I repeat back it down guys"

"8 to 6 if you would still head this way, we need a supervisor"

*I shut down the lights and slow down, and grab my mic*

"PC-8, PC-7 copies your wave off."

*I hang up the mic, and pull off the side of the road. I secure my shotgun, and the shells I pulled out, and wait alongside the road for further instructions*

I help the tow with paperwork then go back to the car. "Well, Thomas. Your turn to drive."

"COPA, Traffic 1. Show us clear on the Interpass. Incident has been cleared."

*We walk the subject to one of the deputies unit*

'You guys ok?'

'Yeah, were good'

'Alright'

"8 to any unit that is still close to the scene, if you could head this way and assist with transporting the suspect to Truitt Sheriffs Department"

*I walk back to my car and grab my traffic vest and put it on*

*I key up the mic*

"8, PC-7, I am at the far end of the road, I'll be responding code 1, ETA 3 minutes"

*I take off down the road again toward the mass of flashing lights, and arrive to the location quicker than I estimated*

"7 on scene"

*I turn on my director bar, and step out of the car, and put my traffic vest on*

'Hey Jake, if you could take the subject down there for them in a few, their supervisor is needing them '

'But, let's wait till the LT arrives'

'I'm on it Dave'

*I take the suspect and load him up in the back of my car*

'Sounds like you guys had a party out here'

"6 copies and arriving."
*I pull up, flick my lights down the stage 2 and get out,*
'Hey guys, what the deal here?'

*I look over at LT. Libor*

'Hey Boss, well the guy that Stone has started to fight with those two deputies'

* I pause to sneeze*

'Excuse me'

'Their supervisor needs to speak to them, so Stone is going to take him down to the Sheriffs office for them'

'I just wanted you out here so you were informed on everything that happened'

'Alright, were any of our officers involved in the fight?'

'I wasn't quite on scene yet, but I know Dave helped the county guys get control of the situation, just from what he was saying on the radio'

*I step around to the rear of my car, pop the trunk, and grab a bottle of water. I also give my new passenger a look to make sure he isn't bleeding or anything*

This is what I have been waiting for....my turn at the wheel to get a little more experience. I turn to my partner and ask:

"What do you say we set up radar at Austin Terrence and Union St?"

I smile. "Make it happen." I flip the computer over toward me and start on my paperwork for the shift while I ride along.

'Boss, as I was running up to help they had him subdued.'

'So none of our guys were directly involved'

*I say as I turn my lights off*

As I start driving I notice a car that keeps drifting into the opposing lane of traffic.

I pick up the mic and say "TU-1 COPA Lincence plate"
"Go ahead"
"Mary Mary 1 Tom 8 Edward, Mary Mary 1 Tom 8 Edward"

I wait for the response to come back. the car stays mostly in its own lane but still not keeping in the lane too well.

"TU-1. Your plate Mary Mary 1 Tom 8 Edward comes back 2011 expiration on a 1995 Ford truck to Charles Watts out of Phoxlind. Showing no wants."

After hearing the plate read back, I activate my emergency lights and instantly see brake lights kick on.
"COPA TU-1 Traffic stop last plate, Corner of Trulit Inter pass and Austin Terrace. Will be a Blue ford Truck, 2 Occupants"

The trucks starts pulling over to the side and stops. I turn to Morrigan and see that he is watching to see how I handle the stop. "Wanna cover the passenger?" I ask. "Well of course" he replies.

I step out of the car and walk up to the driver, making sure i watch for movements inside the cab. I get to the driver window and Introduce myself. "Officer Thomas with Phoxlind PD. I need to see your license and insurance please."

"TU-1 COPA one to run"
"Go Ahead"
"Last name Watts, First name Charles. DOB 6/2/1967 Male white"
"TU-1 Your subject comes back vaild with no wants and no priors"

I tell the driver to try to keep it in his own lane and release him with a verbal warning. He apologizes and says he was distracted by a cell phone. As i walk back to the car I replay the stop and consider it to go pretty smooth. I get back in the car and look and Morrigan again. "So, what do you think?"

*I turn left onto Keller and see a car, what appears to be a early 1990's Modle Nissan Altima go through a 4-way stop without any signs of it slowing down. I then turn on the interior lights on my Impala and pull out into the opposing lane, which is currently seeing no traffic, and overtake 3 cars, all not moving, as they can see my lights. As I begin picking up speed approaching the vehicle I pick up my radio.
"PC-4 Out on Traffic, Ran a stop, stand-by for plates"
*I give a few bursts of wail in order to make sure the driver can hear me. I stay behind him waiting for him to slow to a stop. The vehicle begins to slow to a stop and pulls into a driveway, very quickly, bumping the garage door.
"Uhh, we're at 1542, License Plate Number is uh, D26AE3"
*I turn the EAT towards me and enter the license plate number through the system.

*I sit and my patrol car for a moment before turning on the amber lights in the rear. I then look behind me waiting for a moment for traffic to stop so I can exit. When It does I quickly Open my door, then shut it and approach the car in the driveway. I lightly press my hand onto the trunk of the car and stop at the rear passenger door and lean over.
'License, Registration, and Proof of Insurance Please.'

I climb in the Magnum, not bothering with a light check since I'd checked before I'd run home. I set up the driving seat the way I like it and open the side window, checking my wing mirrors.
"Commercial 1 is heading out to North East Phoxlind for some checks on drivers. Over." I say into my radio as I navigate through the maze that is the internal ERT road system. I grab my seatbelt and click it in place as I pull onto the Interpass and start to drive west, reaching Phoxlind quickly with the relatively light traffic, that moves with a police officer in the fast lane. I braked and turned quickly onto Union, and saw the FedEx building. I pulled CE-1 onto the kerb, climbed out, but turned on the hazard flashers as I walked inside.

'Hello, how can I help?' A young receptionist said, chewing gum and acting like she couldn't care less.
'ERT PD, I'm here for a few checks on vehicles.' I said, flashing a ID card and Badge.
'Yeah, right.' She said sarcastically, looking at something on her computer. After a few minutes she looked up. 'Just out back.' I didn't thank her and just kept walking. I headed out of a back door into a large parking and loading bay, a couple of semis were loading up, a few of their step-vans, and a little Sprinter. I decided to pick on a semi driver, and choose one of the dilapidated Volvos.

'Good afternoon sir, I'm just here for a few random checks, can I see your licence, insurance and log book.' The driver groans slightly and hands over the licence and logbook, and keeps searching for his insurance details. I glance at the Licence, which allows him to drive a semi, turn it over and scan it quickly with the ERT phone, and get up a few details, no warrants. The log book shows nothing wrong, as the guy seemed to have been off work for a while. He climbs out of the cab with the insurance details.
'Sorry for that.' He tells me in a New York accent, everything was OK with the Insurance, company for the vehicle.
'Cheers, have a good day.' I say, thanking him as I move on to the other drivers. On my own, I wasn't going to bother checking vehicles, unless it was an obvious defect, due to time constraints.
'Insurance, log book, licence?' The next driver asked me, obviously aware of the standard questions, and having heard me. I nodded in response, and he handed them over. Again, no major failures, his log book hadn't been updated, but he looked like he'd only just arrived in Phoxlind.
'Ok, all good, just check on that log book.' He nodded and started on some excuse about a long journey. 'Ok, I understand, you just need to get it sorted, alright? I looked over to the other drivers, and checked details with one step van driver, and the sprinter driver, and no problems, all good, so I took a side entrance, and headed back to CE-1.

"Wasn't too bad, but you don't have to worry about calling COPA for wants and warrants. We can check them on the EAT. Let me show you how it works." ((See Lidner's post, but you did well))

*I wait for him for a moment while the man opens his wallet in search of his information. I then look down at the information he handed me. 'Ok sir, Do you know why I pulled you over today?' 'Uhhh no sir!' 'Ok, I pulled you over for running a stop back there at uh the intersection you just went through' *I watch as the man looks around. 'Stay here till I come vack to you. 'Ok.' *I walk back to my patrol cvehicle and run the man's information through the EAT, everything comes back cleanA so I take out my ticket book and write out a ticket for running through a stop and look back up at the car and see the door open. *I get on the PA system and say 'Stay In your vehicle!'. I continue watching the man and see him give me the finger and shut the door. I continue watching for a moment then look down and finish writing the ticket. I then look back and open my door and speed walk towards the vehicle and see the door open again and the man fall out. I try to refain from laughing and lean my head over and press the button on the side of the radio. "Send me another unit Code 1 possible DUI".

*I look back at the Lt. and Dave*

'Well, I guess I should truck this dude down to TSD and turn him over to their booking officer, if there's nothing further from the Lt.'

*I grab my shoulder mic and key up*

"COPA, PC-7 portable, show me out of service transporting 1 subject for TSD, will be transporting to TSD for booking"

*I look over at Stone*

'Well you be careful sir'

'Lt, I just called you out here so your informed of what happened'

'alright, sounds good. Well, lets head out back on patrol and see what happens next.'

"Pc-6 clearing."

'You got it'

*I get back in my unit and drive back toward the Phoxlind residential area*

"PC-8 back available"
