The charger is the fastest, the only reason the Crown vic is the faster of the other two is because we paid for an engine upgrade to get it up above the 200 mark and it passed the impala just so happens

Yes I know, but im asking sence its not listed do we carry stun bags, AR-15 or MP5, pepperball gun, or tasers. Cause most if not all departments have tasers (eather by the officer or in the car) and a shotgun and some sort of asault rifle style gun. LA county also has every car having a stun bag.

Patrol Cars do not carry AR-15s, or MP5s. Those guns are taken care of by TAC. Patrol officers are proficient in side arms and shotguns. They are not trained for anything else. Pepperball is a crowd control weapon, therefore not in a traffic patrol car. And tasers were removed from ALL ERT police personnel except for the specially trained TAC units due to an incidental in British Columbia.

Yes thats what I thought too. Thats why I was asking about all that equipment cause with my department we are all trained with the stun bag, taser, and other less leathel in the acadamy and the AR-15 is just extra training you can take (I have its very hard)

This is the US, but that doesn't mean that it didn't kill the man. As District Commissioner I've elected to bar use of Tasers for ERT personnel. We have other less-lethal forms of weapons, so lets use those instead.

j.starling wrote:Yes thats what I thought too. Thats why I was asking about all that equipment cause with my department we are all trained with the stun bag, taser, and other less leathel in the acadamy and the AR-15 is just extra training you can take (I have its very hard)
I know you can take it, and you are proficcient in shot guns and side arms from the training academy. Those are the only two guns carried in your cruisers. All other guns come from either the TAC or must be taken from base by approval. We seldom need to use them, and if we have them then you'll feel more need to use them when it's not necessary at all to even draw them, therefore for traffic duty, which is most of what patrol is, you do not need asssualt rifles.

    J.Libor wrote:They have semi auto m4 where I'm from.

Where I'm from we have fully automatic M4, as well as remington shotguns, M16s, UMP and a few other sub machine guns, but only shotungs are carried in the cruiser, all other guns are not carried in the cars. If we give everyone a pistol, a shotgun, an assault rifle and a submachine gun, then we won't need a TAC team, since their job was cancelled out because every patrol officer has all the types of guns they use, and can diffuse the situation before they get a chance.

There is no need for anything more than a side arm and a shotgun for patrol units.

The only reason they have them is incase there is a bank robbery or a man with a gun. I still disagree with the tasers, I know a officer who would be dead now if he didn't have taser. He pulls a guy over, he walks up, the guy hopes out 2x bigger than him, tackles him without warning, it knocked off his radio, and the guy was reaching for his gun, he drops the clip incase the guy gets the gun, he slips away from him and tasers him, he goes down, the officer calls officer down, and gets cuffs on him. The cop has broken ribs ,broken nose, broken eye socket, but that is, he would be dead without it.

See this is the problem with people and cops now a days. Every one is soooo woried that they might be sued or some bs like that they are almost afraid to pull their gun or go in prusit or use force. Im sorry, but if you point a gun at me your im shooting you first. If you run im chasing you. Im going to ask you once to do something once if you dont do it im going to tell you and if you dont do it then im going to make you. Thats the way it shoudl be. YOu shouldnt have to fear punishment for doing your job.

If I don't have a taser and I a guy is attacking me, I'm going to shoot him until the threat is neutralized. Then instead on anyone knowing he got tasered, it would be that an officer killed an unarmed man, then I lose my job because it starts riots and protest. You know the rest.

Thats a good point, but even so the more tools I have the better I can do my job. In real life im not that big of a guy. I have a good comand presence, but ive had to use my taser a couple of times and even the stun bag. The point is if we want to be great at our jobs and do them to the best of our abilitys then we need these tools. I cant be waiting 5 or more minutes for SWAT or TAC to show up cause some guy has a gun and my handgun cant reach him or worse you have a bank of LA shoot out. Thats why most departments now carry some sort of long rifle or asault gun

No it's like sending a firefighter to a fire without a fire extinguisher, it's nice but not necessary. If you taze someone for less than lethal takedown and they've got heart condition, bang they're dead. If you mace someone (which every officer carries) they drop to the ground and wheeze Smile

j.starling wrote:Thats a good point, but even so the more tools I have the better I can do my job. In real life im not that big of a guy. You have access to a shotgun, you don't need an assualt rifle. That's that. There's no need to change it. A regular officer going into a bank shoot out is gonna get capped with or without an assualt rifle since they don't have the presence or the armour. If you have any more issues with your "severe lack of equipment" then contact me via PM.

What you don't realize is each officer is equipped with a nightstick, a pistol, a can of pepperspray/mace and have a shotgun in their car which can fire less lethal or lethal rounds. I'm also thinking I may equip each patrol car with one clip of rubber bullets as well.

The problem is if a guy jumps on me and reached for my gun, I'll drop the clip, while he's on top of me i can't use my nightstick, and pepper spray will hit both of us, and mace dosent always work. I want all angles covered. He can delete or move this, I just want you to consider it.

All our units have solid bumpers, like meant for bumping, not just for looks. The push bar will not be installed on any city patrol units, since we have solid bumpers made for pushing. Highway patrol, if we get request to start one from the local jurisdictions, we will include it.

Not all Norwegian police cars carry dogs or guns, Norwegian police is unarmed unless theres a person-with-gun/knife call, or some other serious thing. Not all of them carry speed radars either for that matter.
