"P-11 has access on the ground floors, beginning search on this side as well as extinguishing all fire that's found."

'We will go in as soon as tac guys are ready.'

*I say noticing he is nervous*

'don't worry bud, we'll keep you safe'

"10-4 Pumper 11, do you have the location of anyone else down there and the location of your guys? Any personnel of Squad 1?"

'Ok, sure, I'm fine.' Still shaking slightly, I turned back, looking for the TAC guy who was meant to be helping us out. 'Just I grew up around criminals, not so nice area, the longer they had to do something, the better they pulled it off. So I just hope.' I shook my head and stamped my feet, fending off the cold, that was creeping in as the adrenaline left my system.

"Hannahan we need to use the ladder to access the roof"
*i climb down and reposition the ladder so we can get to the roof. check my air and it shows full cause i wasnt on air. i pick up the K-12 and make my way to the roof*
"the next guy up the ladder needs to grab a set of irons to knock the metal down and someone else get another K-12 no need for 3 K-12s up here"
*i get to the top of the ladder and step off onto the roof and walk over to the center start up the saw and start making the cut*

"Your right Bruce. Stay on the ladder."
'Hutchison, get the irons and Tim, get the k12. I'm stayin' here.'

"beard to the vent crew use the ladder to access the roof"

*while waiting opens a pocket and grabs a package of cigarettes, and lights it. then opens places the package back and occasionaly flicks thw cigarette.

*I grab onto the last piece of debris on top of teh victim.*
'Alright...be ready to pull him out.'

"Guys, update on search?"

"Ladder 1 to COPA, venting has started and the guard has been found. The fire is contained to the rear half of the building and RIT has been held off momentarily due to understaffing. Squad 1 is extricating the victim now. They should have more details for you."
*I depress the button and watch as the roof gets cut up and the fire gets extinguished.*

((Hi Raven! I guess you are with Davis and whoever else from Squad 1 is retrieving a victim trapped under debris))

*I step out of the back, taking the clipboard and the charts with me and go up to the cab, take a seat and shut the door. I press the red Master button to shut off the lights, then turn on the flood lights to light the EMS area as it starts to get dark out. I go onto the EAT, and start typing in the information for the 1 transport and who has been to rehab so far. I reach back and slide he chart on the diamond plate floor to the back of the truck, then step out, lean on the side of the ambulance with the rest of the crew and watch the fire, and the rescue*

"Botfish grab a line and keep us covered. Jansen help him out." I say as I help Davis transfer the man to a backboard I brought in. "Let's keep him straight and take our time to do it right Davis."

"Negative in our section, we're searching, we'll update you with any findings."

* I watch as Raven and Davis place the man on a backboard.
'Just take him the minimum safe distance from the building, I'd like to start working on him asap.'

((Raven, I requested a couple of Squad EMTs to assist in the treatment, need someone to cut away clothes and bandage.))

*i finsih cutting my hole and Hutchison knocks my piece of metal down. i look up and see matthews finishing up with his too.*
"Hannahan were finished venting"
*i climb down off the roof and go over to the ladder and swap out air tanks and survivor lights. take a drink of water then walk over to Hannahan and wait for orders*

"DC, this is PC-2, we found a piece of discarded clothing, we're searching the warehouse shortly, just waiting for a TAC unit to get on screen." I depressed the transmit button and decided to get the hat into a bag for evidence. "PC-1, can you assist, over."

'Alright good. Bruce, move the ladder up, Hutchison, you're on top this time. If you can, use the cannon and the 2 1/2. Use one to spray inside of the windows and one to spray through the hole. Ok now, Tim, you stay down here with me. You're maninng the RIT now. Bruce, get a k12 and cut a hole for me in front of the ladder. Since you're SAR, you could go in. I want you to help them with the search.'
"Ladder 1 to COPA, The roof has been vented and I'm sending firefighter Beard inside the building to assist the search with Pumper 11. Pumper 11, what's your location in the building? I'm sending in Bruce. Also be advised, we're preparing to get water through the hole we just cut."
*I see my SCBA tank is still fine so I tug a crosslay off the ladder and wait for Bruce to open another hole.*

'I hear yas'
*I run and grab a line, hook it up and bring it to the rear of the building waiting for Jansen to help me*
"Squad to COPA, update on victim, the debreis have been removed and Kaizer is just about to treat the victim"

**I watch the victim being removed and prepare to escort them to paramedics.**

"Search team, what is your status? Have you found anyone?"

((If nobody has any objections, I'm going to move this ahead a bit and start treatment. If I've stepped on any toes here let me know and I'll edit Just want the treatment to go over more than one post, and get more details into the EMS side of the game.))

* I follow the the squaddies carrying the victim away from the building on a backboard. When they set it down, I kneel next to the victim.
"ED to BLS-1, I could use an extra pair of hands here." * I say over the radio before I turn to the victim.
'Sir, can you hear me?'
'Mmmmm...' the man moans. I open his mouth and check for foreign objects. His airways seems ok, so I move on to check his breathing. Using a pair of heavy duty scissors from my trauma kit I cut his shirt open, exposing his chest. I hand the scissors to Jansen.
'Can you expose his legs please? And his arms once you're done with that. Any other EMT can start bandaging him up, his head is bleeding pretty badly. Raven and Zack, can either of you hook him up to an ECG, puleoxmeter, BP monitor and start a bilateral large bore IV with saline please.'

* I take the stethoscope from around my neck and listen to his chest.
'Breathing is labored, decreased breath sounds on the right...and crackling.'
* I look up at his throat. 'Looks like his jugular veins are distended.'
* I listen to his chest again.
'Tension pneumthorax.' I say, and grab a 14 gauge Angiocath from the trauma kit, and take of the plastic cap over the needle. I follow the midclavicular line down his chest, feeling my way to the second intercostal space, and quickly wipe the puncture site with an alcohol swab. Using both hands I insert the needle into his chest, then lean close to the catheter to listen for the rush of air. I push the needle slowly deeper until I hear it. I remove the needle, and leave the catheter in, securing it in place with tape. I attach a one-way valve to it, and listen to his breathing sounds again.
'Sounds better. Probably got at least one broken rib.'

"I got second and third degree burns on his legs, about 15% of the body. Blood pressure is 142 over 90, pulse is 110." I say and start to trat the leg.

'Alright, no obvious fractures then?'
* The victim has opened his eyes, and has a very confused look on his face.
'Hello sir, I'm Michael, one of the doctors from the ERT Hospital. These people just dug you out, seems you had about half a warehouse on top of you.' * I take a penlight from the kit. 'Can you look at this light for me?' * I shine the light in both his eyes, one at a time. 'Good. Pulillary light reflex normal. I'll get you something for the pain in a moment sir.'

* I sit up to get an overview of the situation.
'I'm a bit concerned with that head wound. I think we'll complete the survey, then put him under with RSI, if nobody has any objections to that.'
* I grab a non rebreather mask, and put it on the victim, and start him on 100% oxygen.

"PC-1 to TAC we have yet to find anyone, preparing to enter a warehouse, waiting for a tac unit to get here. 1 discarded piece of clothing found."
"PC-1 to PC-2 you need a bag?"
*Puts his cigarette out on the ground and jogs pack to his patrol car.

'Kaizer, where can I assist?'

*I go and change my scba bottle since it was less then half and then stage on the RIT mat and await orders*

'Hello sir, I'm EMT Jansen and im going to take care of your headwound'
'*mumble* okay'
First I clean the wound and get a gauze, then I put bandage on the gauze and make sure it doesn't come lose.

'Kaizer, this wound needs to be stitched at the ER, this will help for a while, anything else I can do?'

'Allright, good job. I think we're set...think I need paramedics for the rest, IV access and intubation. If anything urgent comes up I've got BLS-1. Okay, all squaddies are cleared from treatment once they finish what they're doing, me and Zack can take it from there. Thanks for your help, good job everyone.'

"Jansen to COPA, Patient is now in care of ALS1 and Kaizer"

"PC-2 to TAC, we've possibly found a suspect, we're waiting on TAC support to search the warehouse." It was getting annoying out here, search team unable to do anything else because we were about to search a building, but unable to search a building without TAC. "PC-1, copy, grab that and some gloves. Over."

*i climb up to the comtrol pannel and possition the ladder up ubove the building for tim. then i climb down grab my k-12 and cut a 4x6 hole in the side of the building and wait for the pumper to report there location so i can meet up with them*

"PC-1 to PC-2 on it"
*Pops his trunk grabs himself a couple pair of gloves, and a few bags, then shuts the trunk jogging back to Officer Jackson's Location.

Bridwell: 'I'll support the search of the warehouse.' **Bridwell runs over to where the team has gathered** 'Entry will be on my command only. I will go first, and I want everyone to fan out behind me. If he's in here, we don't want to lose him.'

"Thanks Kaizer" I get out the laryingoscope and look into the throat. I then see the trachea. I insert the endotrachel tube and pulse ox goes up.
"Alright, let's go!" I put the victim on the stretcher and wheel him to my ambulance" I then head out to the hospital.
"ALS 1 transporting 1 male." I say into the radio.

((Hang on there mate, I haven't medicated him yet, or applied cricoid pressure I'll just make my post as if it happened right before yours.))
* I complete the survey. Burns, cuts, bruises, and 5 broken ribs. Most worrying though is the head wound, which could have caused bleeding inside his skull. In which case he needs surgery to relieve the pressure. Quickly. I glance over at the pulseoxmeter, seeing that he's been sufficiently preoxiginated for RSI. I draw up 25,5 mg of etomidate, and 170 mg of succinylcholine.
'Allright, ready for RSI. I will medicate and apply cricoid pressure, Zack will intubate.' * I turn to the patient.
'Sir, we're going to give you something to put you to sleep, you won't feel a thing. Once you start falling asleep, I'm going to push quite hard here' * I put my hand on his throat to show where I'll push. 'This is for your own safety, so don't be alarmed, ok?'
* I administer the drugs via the IV catheter, etomidate first and succinylcholine right after. 60 seconds later I see him slipping into unconsciousness, apply cricoid pressure and nod at Zack, who quickly intubates him, and attaches the bag to the tube. I listen to his chest with my stethoscope, confirming that the tube is in the right place.
'Position of the tube is good Zack, nice work.'
* Together we walk him to the ambulance, and load him up. I hear Zack calling it in as we pull away from the scene

"10-4 bucello, we are securing an area around a suspected location for the suspect"

*I grab the irons, and climb back out of the ladder.*
'Got the irons, where do you want me Lt.'

"Police teams be advised, security forces have located one suspect and have him detained behind a dumpster at the country club. Requesting some officers over there to help him out."

"Copy, we're standing by to search the warehouse, I believe PC-1 is able to assist. Over." I shivered, wanting to be in on the action, but had to wait here, the TAC guys knew best in this area, but I suspected something was going to happen shortly, unless we took action quick. Maybe another fire in the warehouse, or maybe an injured officer. 'Time until we go in sir?' I asked Bridwell, still uneasy.

*Hears the radio chatter
"10-4, Ill be headed over there in a second"
*Makes his way back to Officer Jackson and hands him the bags and gloves.
'Here ya go. I gotta go now'
*Jogs over to the country club across the street.
*Looks around for security gaurds, finds one and asks where the dumpster is.
*Runs behind the country club to where it is located.

'Thanks.' I replied as Blanc ran off, taking the bag and gloves. I put the shotgun down on the floor and put on the gloves quickly. Flashlight in one hand, I spotted the beanie hat again and moved towards it, hoping there was no tripwires or anything, we didn't know how smart these guys were, and for all we knew, they could've been terrorists. But it didn't turn out that way, as I picked the hat up gingerly and placed it in the bag. I walked back towards the search team, and crouched to pick up my shotgun, after putting my flashlight back on my belt. 'Great, what to do with this.' I muttered to myself. I placed it down on a bin lid, and pressed my transmit button
"Can we get a Security Unit to Warehouse Two to take some evidence away, over." I depressed the button and hope they'd come shortly.

"Davis to Burke, the victim is safe and is currently being treated by the paramedics. We're gonna grab some lines now and try to hit the rest of this fire."

'Alright everyone, change your bottles and get on a line if that's alright with you Raven...'

*I head back to the squad, take off my SCBA, exchange bottles, grab some water, and put on my SCBA again. Then I grab a crosslay off the truck and charge it.*

*I run over to the truck,change my air bottle,and run back over to the line I setup*
"This is Botfish, I am located behind the building, Requesting a firefighter for help on my line"
*I pick up the hose and put it on low (So I don't get blown back until renforcements arrive), and hit the fire*

'Bruce, hold this crosslay and Hutchison, Nevermind. Get up on the ladder and spray through the hole. Use the 2 1/2 to spray through the windows and the cannon for the vented hole.'
(gotta run)

*I climb up the Ladder to the nozzle and aim toward the hole. I give the signal for water and wait.*

*I calmly walk over to the pump, engage the deck gun on the ladder, and wait for the water to flow to the deck gun and 2 1/2 line. I look up and soon see it spray out. I look over and stand on the RIT mat. I feel my mouth getting dry but dismiss it figuring I could bare for a bit longer.*
"Ladder 1 to Botfish, are you outside the building or inside? I could only get you a guy on the outside since he's not SAR certified."
'Hold on Tim, this could be your job.'
*I put my arm out but because of slight weakness, I put it down.*
'Man, i'm liftin' waits when I get back.' I think to myself.

"NEGATIVE. Search team must remain in place. That means you, Antoine. I repeat, search team must remain in place; there are still subjects that are at large. Anyone NOT on the search team, rally at the TAC RRT truck before proceeding to the Country Club."
