"Show CE-1 out on a possible arrest for a warrent. Semi Truck License plate number 2864-086. Location is between Exit 3A and 3B.
We get out and I walk over to the drivers side and look up at the guy.

"Sir ERT PD Traffic Division, I'm Corporal Linda and this is Officer Jackson were stopping you today for a Commercial Vehicle check you mind stepping out of the truck?"

I ask the guy as Jackson stays back watching my surroundings. He complies and I motion for him to step off in the grass off the highway to keep safe due to traffic.

Me: Sir if you would could you grab your log book for me and your license and registration real fast. Just hop up in the passenger side door.
Suspect: Yes sir. (He jumps in the passenger side and looks for his log book and registration. He hands it to me)
Me: (I look at it) So your Jim Duncan correct?
    Suspect: Yes sir.
Me: Well this truck comes back to Tom Lincoln.
Suspect: Yes sir I work for him this is his company. I just had to come down here for a load.
Me: Alright well here's the deal theres a warrant out for your boss due to unpaid tickets. So were going to have to do some checking on this one. Can I see your log book?
*He hands me his log book and I look over it*
Me: Hmm seems like you've been on the road for a long time without a rest stop. Thats a citation sir, what are you carrying?
Suspect: Just assorted items for stores.
    Me: No hazardous materials correct?
Suspect: No sir none, how much is this citation?
Me: Don't worry about that were still going to check all your equipment and make sure everything is good including weight. Hang tight here.

I hand over the registration for Jackson to check up on in the EAT.
'Jackson check on this registration for me I'm going to check everything while were waiting.

'Alright, I'll check it, but I think we should get this guy off the interstate if we're gonna start checking weight and stuff, it's more dangerous out here.' I suggested as I climbed in the car and pulled up the EAT.

    ****EAT****

    Name: Jim Duncan
    Address: 555 Texas Street
    City: Houston
    State: Tx

    Past Record:
    -Theft (2002)
    -Battery (2002)
    -DWI (2003)
    -DWI (2008)

    Current Warrants:
    -None

    ****EAT****

I climb out of the car, grabbing my traffic vest with 'Police' from the side pocket, where it was screwed up in a ball. I unfold it and quickly put it on, and head back over to Linda as Ledger arrives.
'Hey sir, not sure, Linda's dealing with that.' I say, as I head down the road, over to where Corporal Linda and the driver are. 'He's got a bit of previous, two DWIs, a Battery and a theft charge.' I tell him. 'You want me to get the extra equipment to check it over?' I ask this time, wondering if he needs it quickly, or we can move him off the main interstate.

(I assume that's what you meant by registration, licence, but I'll correct it if I'm wrong.

    (Yeah Jackson thats great)

'Yeah lets move you off the highway sir so we can check everything safely. Just follow us.'
He jumps back in and starts the truck back up and waits for us to get in the car.

'Hey Ledger will you follow him and we will be in front of him to take him to a better place to check everything. Theres an abandoned lot over off of exit 3B'

'Moving out.' I reply, climbing in our car and checking all the emergency lights are on so I can pull out into traffic safely. I shift the car back into drive, and then spin the wheel and accelerate, pulling our car into the first lane. Linda waves for the truck to follow, and he obliges, pulling out behind our Magnum as we drive slowly, but carefully down the road, since we didn't want to get the truck speeding, in case there were major problems.

The truck follows us out of the exit, and just ahead I pull into the nearby parking lot, and turn off the emergency lights. I start to turn on the runlock and get the EAT ready and set up for any information we need. As I climb out of the car, I take off the traffic vest and throw it on my seat, before heading to the trunk of our car, to grab any investigation tools we need.

'Alright sir, don't wanna really get K9 out here yet, we've got nothing on this driver so far so weprobably need to check over the vehicle, and that's not gonna be hard to find defects.' I reply, pointing out the dented front of the semi.

I pull up behind all the traffic backin up. I flip on my lights and hit the siren and go up to the intersection in oncoming traffic.

"SUP2 to COPA, I'm onscene I have a back up about 50 cars in each direction. Can you have public works expedite please?"

I pull up to the intersection and shut off my siren and pull my car to the side of the road and leave my lights on. I hop out turn on my portable and throw on my traffic vest.

    'Geez this is a pain'

    I start directing traffic

I head over to the truck, whose driver is still talking with Corporal Linda, probably being questioned. I start with checking the trailer, which looks acceptable, slight dents here and there, as I come to the rear wheels, I see a problem.
'Tread's low.' I mutter, noting which wheel then heading to the next side. Same again, the tractor's wheels were good, but the trailer's weren't. 'Hey Linda, can you grab me a rule or something, need to check tire tread.' I say, if it was bad, we might need to keep the trailer off road, as it was highly dangerous.

I put my mic down on the siren control unit so I can grab it faster for a response to COPA. I then start looking for traffic violators and running license plates.

"SUP2 to COPA, I'll take the MVA, you can show PC8 available."

I start heading out towards the call.

I arrive onscene and pull up behind the two cars and turn on my hazards.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I start writing down information on both of the vehicles.

2007 White Ford Expedition- A492OLE Front end damage/ Damaged bumper, grill, and headlights. Does run.

2000 Red Honda Accord- E318LPW Rear end damage/ completely demolished rear end. Does run.

I thank Linda as I start to check the rear right trailer wheels, and their tread. First tyre of the double, 1/32nd inch in a few places, 'Nearly illegal.' I mutter, half to myself, half to Linda, and 2/32 in a few other places, which still isn't entirely safe, I write down the measurements on my notepad, and head on to the second tyre on this axle, mainly illegal this time, barely 1/32nd inch all over the wheel. The other wheels on this side, similar, mainly just legal, some areas totally bald.
'Hey Linda, he's got illegal treads here, other sides is gonna be similar, can you tell him what we'll have to do, and give him a lecture on the dangers.' I tell Matt as I head over to the other side of the trailer, similar again, 1/64th in certain places, nothing in other areas, 1/32 and a few 2/32nd inch treads. I headed to the tractor, this was more legal, 6/32nd on both left rear tires, and the front one as well, and exactly the same on the other.

'Looks like his company trailer's been wrecked, his tractor's OK, I'm gonna check over weight and stuff, cool?' I ask, handing over the notepad with the measurements on for the Corporal to check out.

I pull over behind the car and hop out and walk around to the back of my car. I then turn on my portable and walk up to the passenger side of the pickup I stopped.

"Hello Sir, I am Sergeant Ledger with the ERT Traffic division, Do you know why I have stopped you?"

    "Hey dude, No I don't."

"I'm not dude, thank you. I stopped you because you were all over the road back there. You also crossed over the double yellow several times and have expired registration."

"Oh really, I was goofing around dude."

"Can I get your license, registration, and proof of insurance?"

"Here you go dude." Hands me his info

"Alright sir, I will be right back to you."

I walk to the back to my car and get in the passenger seat with the door open and run the guy out on the EAT. He came back clear and has a valid license. I start writing up a citation for his expired registration and him crossing over the double yellow. I then walk back up to the guys passenger side and talk to him.

"Okay sir I am back, I am giving you a citation for expired registration and for crossing the double yellow. You have any questions?"

"Why are you doing this to me dude?"

"Because you broke the law sir. Signing this isn't a saying you are guilty, it is just saying that you will appear in court."

    "Awww, Come on man."

"Can you please sign the ticket or I'll take you to jail."

    "Don't do that dude."

    "Then sign it."

    "Okay man." Signs ticket.

"Thank you sir, Here is back your information. Have a nice day and drive safe."

I walk back to my car and shut my passenger door. I then walk around the back of my car get in the drivers seat, I put my ticket book on my passenger seat, and I grab my radio mic.

"SUP2 to COPA, I am clear this traffic stop on a citation. Available in Trulit."

I shut off my lights and pull back into traffic.

*I look at the live map of all of the units, and see Car 1 mobile in the area of the school.

"SUP2, we've got reports of a traffic collision at Third and Boader, someone ran the light and hit another car, no reported injuries, however we've got possibility of it escalating as both drivers are arguing, wanna stop over there and see if you can't sort this out?"

"6 arriving, still in traffic, one lane blocked. Drivers appear to be arguing."

*I hit my lights to stage 2 (less lights) and pull behind trying to provide some protection.*

"SUP2 I'm onscene, Vehicles are blocking the intersection. I have a verbal argument, two males being verbal in the intersection. Have PC6 continue medical to stage."

*I pull up shut off my siren and grab my PA*

"HEY! Stop arguing and move out of the street!"

I pull up my car into the intersection, throw it in park, and jump out quickly.

"Both of you come over here and put your hands on my car"

I notice one of the guys is bleeding from his head. I look over my shoulder at their cars. They seem to be badly damaged.

"Sir, are you okay? (referring to the bloody guy)

    "Yeah I am fine."

"Well I am going to have medical come and check you out?"

    "Okay then."

"Let me get your guys ID's?"
