We get out and I walk over to the drivers side and look up at the guy.
"Sir ERT PD Traffic Division, I'm Corporal Linda and this is Officer Jackson were stopping you today for a Commercial Vehicle check you mind stepping out of the truck?"
I ask the guy as Jackson stays back watching my surroundings. He complies and I motion for him to step off in the grass off the highway to keep safe due to traffic.
Me: Sir if you would could you grab your log book for me and your license and registration real fast. Just hop up in the passenger side door.
Suspect: Yes sir. (He jumps in the passenger side and looks for his log book and registration. He hands it to me)
Me: (I look at it) So your Jim Duncan correct?
Suspect: Yes sir.
Me: Well this truck comes back to Tom Lincoln.
Suspect: Yes sir I work for him this is his company. I just had to come down here for a load.
Me: Alright well here's the deal theres a warrant out for your boss due to unpaid tickets. So were going to have to do some checking on this one. Can I see your log book?
*He hands me his log book and I look over it*
Me: Hmm seems like you've been on the road for a long time without a rest stop. Thats a citation sir, what are you carrying?
Suspect: Just assorted items for stores.
Me: No hazardous materials correct?
Suspect: No sir none, how much is this citation?
Me: Don't worry about that were still going to check all your equipment and make sure everything is good including weight. Hang tight here.
I hand over the registration for Jackson to check up on in the EAT.
'Jackson check on this registration for me I'm going to check everything while were waiting.
