Re: Patrol centre
*I return to patrol the city and drive towards the residence area of Phoxlind. The streets are quiet at this time, so I'm just cruising about looking for traffic violations. I hum a little to a tune on the FM/AM radio as I go along while monitoring the work-channel on the communications radio.*

Re: Patrol centre
*As I drive down the road, I become aware of a sedan with a taillight out of order and out-of-state plates. We stop on a red light, there's one car between me and the sedan. The light turns green, the other car turns right and the sedan goes straight ahead, I decide to pull him over and see what this is. I reach over to my console and flick the switch for the warning lights, firing up my lightbar and directional lights. The lights reflect from the sedan, and I use the manual switch on my siren control to give off two yelps.
The sedan pulls over to the curb and stops. I see the one working backup-light flashing, indicating that the driver has put the vehicle in park... I grab my radio mic from the console and transmit:*
"Dispatch this is PC-7, show me doing traffic stop on Fifth Avenue."
*I put the mic back and step out of my patrol car. I walk over to the sedan, making sure the road is clear behind me before I start walking. The driver of the sedan has already rolled down his window, probably not the first time he has seen a traffic stop happen. I approach the drivers side and look inside the car. Inside is the driver, no passengers, and nothing suspicious to be seen. No foreign smells or anything, seems like a regular guy out for a regular drive really... I speak to him:
"Hello sir, I'm corporal Halls from the ERT police department. May I see your license and registration, please?"
Driver replies: "Hello corporal sir! Of course you may, here you go!"
*He hands me his papers, and I take a quick look at them. His license seems legit, issued in Michigan state. The car is registered in the same state.*
"Allright sir, thank you. Just sit tight while I have a look at these."
*I walk back to my car and get in, then activate my ERT terminal. I do some typing, and the terminal returns the following:*
---
Name: Richard Simmons
Age: 29
Born: Bellevue, Michigan
Valid drivers license, no outstanding warrants or records on neither the car nor the driver.
He holds a valid licence to carry a concealed firearm issued in the state of Michigan. He has however not applied to the city of Phoxlind for permission to carry a firearm here...
---
All the info matches his ID and registration papers, so I decide to check the CCW-part. I exit my car, but before I get all the way out I release the lock on my gun's holster so it's ready if I need it. I walk back over to the sedan and speak to the driver again, handing his papers back to him.*
"Allright mr. Simmons, this all seems in order. I do on the other hand have a few things to ask you before you leave. Could you turn the car engine off please?"
Mr. Simmons: "Sure officer! What's the matter?"
*He shuts of the engine and looks at me, his hands are now on his lap and I'm keeping a close eye on him.*
Me: "First of all, I stopped you because one of you taillights are out, you need to have that fixed as soon as possible."
Mr. Simmons: "Oh, I didn't realize! They were working when I left from Michigan two days ago... I'm only visiting a friend here in Phoxlind, you see."
Me: "That's ok, it's not a big deal. Just have it taken care of. Are you staying long in Phoxlind?"
Mr. Simmons: "No, I'll be leaving today as matter of fact. Is there anything else officer?"
Me: "Yes, mr. Simmons. I wanted to ask you, are you currently carrying a firearm on your person or in this vehicle?"
Mr. Simmons: "Uhm... Why... Well... Yes, I do. Is that illegal?"
Me: "Sir, the town of Phoxlind requires that out of state citizens with a permit to carry a firearm contact the city and obtain a permit to carry firearms inside the city limits. Our records show no permit issued to you for this purpose. Do you have a permit I can see?"
*He is a bit nervous now, it's clear that he understands that he is in trouble now. I have my left hand resting on my gun and my right hand on the door of his car.*
Mr. Simmons: "No sir, I do not. I forgot to apply for a permit and figured it was too late to get one once I was here... I should have gotten one, I'm sorry. Do I go to jail now?" He says, with a worried look and a bit of sweat on his brow.
Me: "Sir, carrying a firearm in the city of Phoxlind without a valid permit is a criminal offense. Listen to me now: slowly, very slowly, take out your gun if you have it on you, and give it to my with the grip towards me. We can solve this matter, just calm down."
*He slowly opens his jacket and reaches inside. I now have my left hand on the grip of my gun, ready to draw. I've already removed the safety with my index finger. Mr. Simmons hand comes back out slowly, holding a S&W revolver. He flips it in his hand so that he is holding it by the barrel, and hands it to me. I grab it, and straigten myself. I check the chamber, and sure enough, five rounds. I close the barrel and make sure the hammer is not cocked, then put the revolver in my jacket pocket and zip the pocket shut. I look back into the cabin at the now pale mr. Simmons.*
Me: "Mr. Simmons, can you exit the car and come with me to my patrol car please?"
*He gets out without a word, and I walk him back over to my cruiser after removing his carkeys from the ignition, and put him in the back seat.*
Me: "Just sit tight here and don't worry. We'll fix this matter veru quickly, I'm sure. After all, you have a valid permit in Michigan, don't you?" I say with a calm smile, trying to reassure him.
*He nods, and I close the door. I open the trunk of my car, remove the bullets from the revolver, and put both the bullets and the gun in a plastic evidence bag. I put the bag back in the trunk and close the lid. I then get into the drivers seat of my car and grab the radio mic of the console.*
"Dispatch, this is PC-7. I have detained a male individual for carrying a firearm without a permit. Can you send me an additional unit code one please? Over."
*I sit back and wait for the response.*
((Wow, this got a bit longer than I thought. Sorry for the wall of text, just wanted to keep myself entertained and show off my RPG skillz. ^^ ))

Re: Patrol centre
"PC-2 responding Code one." I shifted the car into gear and headed towards Halls. The traffic was building up, midday, and I kept shifting the gear into neutral as I crawled through the traffic. After blasting the horn at two idiots trying to annoy the rest of traffic, I pulled off the Interstate and headed down Sixth Avenue, I indicated and pulled a right onto Keller, and then shortly after, indicated left and turned down Fifth. "PC-2 arriving on scene."
I pulled the car up behind the police charger, and flicked on the rear director bar and hazard lights. I climbed out of the driver's seat carefully, just after two cars sped past, but with no chance of grabbing their registration, I couldn't get them on any charges. 'Corporal, you called?' I shouted over, as I walked round the cars to his charger.

Re: Patrol centre
*I get out of my cruiser and walk over towards Jackson. We step over to the sidewalk beside my car to avoid the traffic now building up in the street.*
"Hello Jackson. Yea, I just wanted another unit on scene just in case. This guy is from Michigan, he has a valid concealed-carry license over there, but he hasn't applied for an extended permit in Phoxlind. He had revolver on him, loaded with live bullets when I pulled him over, but he was cooperative and seems to be taking the matter seriously. No other warrants or previous incidents recorded... I suggest you do a search of him to see if he is carrying anything else on him while I look into this abit... I think we're just going to confiscate the firearm for now and issue a fine for not obtaining the necessay permit, so go easy on him please." I say with a slight grin.
*I get back in my cruiser on the passenger side to let Jackson search mr. Simmons and start looking through the patrol unit lawbook all units have in their car.*

Re: Patrol centre
'Alright, if it's a short journey, then I'm not sure.' I shook my head and walked over to the back of Halls' cruiser.
'Sir, can you step out of the vehicle and put your hands to the side please.' I asked as I opened the back door. He stepped out and put his arms to the side.
'Do you have any needles or anything similar sir?' I ask, pulling on a pair of latex gloves. He shook his head, so I started to frisk him. His pockets barely contained anything, seemed like a wallet, and it was on pulling it out, and that was all. His jacket was similar, some ID, nothing else.
'Is there anything else you have, either on your person or in your vehicle, that you want to declare, in case we have to search your further.' I ask a third question, just in case he wants to tell us anything he has, without us having to search him.
'No officer.' I nod, and gesture for him to get back in the car, he abides and I close the door behind him.
'Got nothing corporal, just wallet and ID really.' I say to Halls.

"Allright, let's search his car real quick and then cut him loose if we don't find anything of importance. I'll write the fine and do the paperwork, don't worry about it." I say with my usual sly grin.
*I walk over to the drivers side of mr. Simmons sedan and begin searching the glovebox, ashtray, floor etc. I then open the trunk and take a look inside. Nothing of importance, just a jack, some empty bottles of soda, and the usual tools that comes with a car when you buy it. I let officer Jackson search the passenger side and back seat of the sedan and wait for him to finish before doing anything further.*

Re: Patrol centre
I nod in agreement and then get to work searching the car. The passenger side front seat was empty, piles of mud on the floor. I lifted the mats, nothing under there. I then opened the glovebox, again, documents, manuals, I moved them around, searching, but nothing, a firearms manual and a magazine (not for the gun). I checked under the seat, again, nothing of real importance, a soda bottle. I then looked in the side pocket on the door, few bits of paper.
'Front's clear boss.' I say, before closing the passenger door and heading to the back. I start again, the seatback pocket, door pocket, under the chair, again nothing, clean car really. 'Nothing corporal, clean as a whistle, that's clean.' I say, as I shut the rear door and head over to the Charger again.

"Well, it's clear then, guy just likes his guns and soda I guess. Allright, thanks for the help Jackson, you can clear and head out again if you like. I'll inform him on our decision and issue the ticket. See you around!"
*I walk over to my squad's passenger door and open it. Mr. Simmons is still sitting there, a bit calmer now that he has seen us making sure he is no threat to us.*
Me: "Okay mr. Simmons, you can step out now. I'm sorry about the wait, but I'm sure you understand why we had to search you vehicle under the circumstances."
*He gets out of the car and I close the door behind him.*
Mr. Simmons: "No problem sir, I'm so sorry I've caused this mess. What's going to happen now?"
Me:" Ok, listen. Since you haven't obtained a permit and having stayed in the city carrying your gun with you, loaded, for several days, I have no choice but to confiscate the gun and issue you a ticket. This could be a matter for the court you know, but I feel that you have acted in neglience and not with malicious intent. As there are better ways to spend time in Phoxlind than in the courtroom slash police holding cells, I'm going to let it slide so to speak. The gun will be sent by parcel to your registered adress in Michigan after we've checked it's ownership and legality, you will have to cover the expenses for the parcel if you'd not rather come pick it up at the ERT police station in person. The ammunition is permanently confiscated, I'm afraid. Furthermore, I'm issuing a fine for the amount of 800 USD, which must be payed within the date indicated on the fine to avoid further prosecution. Do you understand what I have just told you?"
Mr. Simmons: "Yes sir, and thank you, thank you, for not putting me through court. Really, I can handle the fine, but losing my permit or getting imprisoned would really have destroyed me. Thank you!" He says, relieved.
Me: "Very well, you may get back in you vehicle now. Just sit tight and I'll bring the paperwork over when I'm done with it."
*I hand mr. Simmons his carkeys, and he goes back to his car after shaking my hand and thanking me once again. I get my papers out and write out the fine, sign it, then walk over to the sedan again and have mr. Simmons sign the fine. I give him his copy of the papers, and send him off on his way again. I then get back in my patrol car, sit in, and turn of the warning lights. I then drive of towards the HQ to process the firearm I've confiscated. As I drive off I grab the radio mic again.*

Hearing that PC8 hasn't responded to the traffic light situation I wonder over there code 1.
"COPA put me out on First and Hellington. RE:Traffic Light Outage"
I get out of my vehicle and start directing traffic to keep any pile ups from happening.

*I arrive at the HQ and park in a free spot on the employee parking lot. I get out and lock my car, then walk inside the PD HQ. I clock in, change into my uniform in the wardrobe, and sign out my gun, patrol car's keys and radio at the desk sergeant. After grabbing a cup of coffee to go in the break room I walk out to my Charger and get in. It's damn cold, so I quickly fire up the engine and turn up the heater. I mumble a curse about the cold weather as I put my cup down in the cupholder, before I pull of and drive out on the road to patrol. I grab the radio mic, make sure I'm on the right channel, then speak:*

"PC-2 is on patrol." I placed the radio mic back on it's little mount and pulled out of the complex, just after Halls' charger. I indicated to head on the road to Phoxlind, and just sat back and enjoyed the ride, watching the people slow down around me as I cruised along, I smiled and kept driving on. Then the traffic started getting worse in front of me. 'Obviously some idiots have crashed.' I muttered and sure enough, they had, ten cars ahead, I could see two cars parked up on the shoulder, they were probably having a little spat, so I decided to check it out.
I flicked on the emergency lights and pulled onto the shoulder, and accelerated, then braked, checking both my rear director bar and hazard lights were on, I climbed out of the car, pulling on a traffic vest and walked over to the drivers who were having an argument just ahead.
'Good morning sirs, what's happened here?' I asked, interrupting the two shouting at each other. Now I could size them up, and I realised that they were both tall men, one black and slightly taller, one white and slightly fatter, but both looking physically strong, like they would seriously hurt each other.
'This idiot here, rammed my car, nearly hurt my wife!' The white guy said, shouting at the black guy in a angry tone.
'Listen, you braked too fast, you having a go at me?' He replied, very deep, but very angry voice as well.
'Alright, I'm not here to let you two have some argument on the shoulder and slow down traffic.' I said, hand on my baton, just in case. 'I'm going to ask you get in your cars, and drive down the road, and exchange details there.' I said, ordering in a firm tone.
'Officer, I asked him to do that, he seemed more interested in a fight.' The white guy said, pointing at him, his face was red, they needed one thing, and they'd be at it.
'Me, fight you, you're the man who came running to my car and started whining.' The man replied, laughing at him.
'Listen, get in your cars, and move on.' I ordered again, but they seemed interested in fighting each other and they were both squaring off. I grabbed my radio and depressed the transmit button. "PC-2 to COPA, I've got two people involved in an accident attempting to start a fight with each other, send an available unit if possible." I put the radio back, these men were taller than me, bigger than me, and stronger than me, so I'd have to rely on my baton if it turned nasty.
'You say one more thing, I'll nail you!' The black guy shouted, losing control in seconds. I tried to step between them, he shoved me away, and then the other man said something else, and he lost it, he swung a punch, missed, and then took a hit in the gut, but didn't double over.
"PC-2 needs that unit now." I said, drawing my baton, but these guys were involved in a proper fight, and I had to stop it escalating. I saw people climbing out of their cars, watching, not sure whether to get involved, I was going to wait until support arrived, or I had to stop them, no small guy like me would take them down.

"PC-2 to COPA, if it's available, send it Code 2." I put the radio back and watched the two men turn into almost boxers, they were dodging and swinging, the crowds were standing back, looking at me, thinking, why's the cop not getting involved, then realising a short guy would do nothing.

Re: Patrol centre
"Roger, I'd rather have back-up here before trying to take them down, I'm not sure how much they'll resist, or how many people will help, if any." I grabbed my baton and made sure it was extended and locked. 'This is your last chance, stop, or I will use force.' I ordered, trying to stay calm, but in control, they looked at me, and they could see that I wasn't messing around, but they didn't stop fighting, just slow down a bit, and then back up to the full intensity.

Re: Patrol centre
The two men see the dog, and realise that he's gonna be a bigger problem if they don't stop. 'Alright, hands on your heads and stay where we can see you.' I shout, as the men decide whether to risk the dog chasing them, or give up. I keep my baton extended as I move forward and grab the one who started the fight's arms, and cuff them behind him. The other man's still standing there as I move the first towards my patrol car. 'Sergeant, can you cuff him for me, then we'll transport in UMC-1?'

I grab the radio
"UMC-1 is on scene"
The scene now looks under control and ready to transport the guys that were fighting.

'Hey sir.' I shouted over to Linda, 'Can you cuff that guy and load him in your car?' I asked, grabbing a spare set of handcuffs out of the driver's side door, just in case we needed to arrest anyone else. He still stood there though, hands in the air, the dog staring at him.

Re: Patrol centre
(Just gonna semi god mod to clear us off this one)
'Cool, cheers Linda, tow truck is arriving shortly, I assume they can get the cars, and then we can roll out.' I say, locking my car and the guy in the back, luckily the tow truck wasn't far away, and they carted away one of the cars, with one of the arrested men's wife driving the second away. "PC-2 is returning to Station with one in custody." I said into my radio, deciding to drive back down the shoulder with lights on, as the traffic was still quite heavy.

Re: Patrol centre
"Roger, PC-2 is there now." I said into my radio, encountering the accident almost as soon as I'd pulled out of the Complex. "I'm on scene, please alert emergency vehicles that there may be vehicles diverted onto the shoulder." I said again, flicking on all emergency, and non emergency rear lights as I pulled up next to the accident. THere was a lot of traffic, building up backwards, and there was no real easy way to redirect traffic. I climbed out of my car, and started checking the nearby area, traffic had backed up a few yards back from the crash, ten or so, obviously after braking hard. I nodded and then popped open the trunk, grabbing a set of traffic cones I started to place them across the road, just to ensure they wouldn't pass.
I climbed into my cruiser and grabbed the mic, flicking on the PA. 'This is the Police, those backed up, please await instructions and then obey them.' I put down the mic, seeing the drivers eagerly anticipating pulling away. "PC-2 to COPA, if there's any variable signs at the end of the road, can you close off this section, over." I put the radio back on my shoulder flap, and started preparing to direct cars back down the shoulder at low speed.
