High Risk Warrant

"OK (what are we breaking it with?)"
*I move upstairs and help break it*
"Alright, you start"

((I'm going outside to get an axe, or I could use my boot ;-) oops I lied the building has two stories not one. Tee hee))

I run outside and grab the axe I threw on the lawn and enter through the window I start hacking away at the walls, no fire. I go upstairs to see if John needs help taking out the fire in the bedroom.

"I'm good right now thanks."
*I yell as I spray the dwindling fire as it slowly cools and recedes*
"I got a baggie under this bed but it didn't burn."
*I take the baggie and toss it into the hallway so it won't burn*
"Ewan watch out for it it's in the hallway. Are you almost done with the wall yet? The fire in this room going to be out soon."

((Lol, the fire in this room will be out really soon, sounds like a cheesey porno or action film line.))

"What?" I ask and walk into the hall, I slip on the baggie and land on my side, "Hey Hannahan, when you're finished in there, help me out please."

"Fire's out. be careful man."
*I help Ewan back up*
"Let's finish this"
*I hold the line and start to check more rooms*
"Clear. Hey Ewan look."
*I point to smoke coming from another room*
"There has to be a fire in there"
*I walk up to the room and slowly open the door*

"Get back, backdraft!" I push John out of the way as the fire crackles to life, I grab the line from him and open it up on the fire. When it's extinguished I look in the little room, there are scales and a large fireproof safe in it.

"Damn....thanks Ewan. Pumper 11 to DCBurke, we got a fireproof safe and a bunch of scales in the same room ."
*I keep looking through the room and find nothing*
"This room is clear now, except for the drugs and safe though."

"Go get a roof ladder from the engine and start to vent the roof (In retrospect we shoulda done that first) I'm going to clear the house.

Fire, if you see evidence, DO NOT TOUCH, we'll have that investigated as is, so long as you keep it secure

"Got it"
*I go downstairs and get the roof ladder and chainsaw. I set the ladder up and climb to the top of the roof and start to vent.*
"Watch out for debris!"
*I turn on the chainsaw and start cutting a hole in the roof*

"Yeah."
I start ripping out the walls, I hit something solid. "We have a wall safe in the bedroom" I say and start feeling for more fire.

Bls-1 I'm good, my windshield held up in front of me, just mainly passenger side, just little pieces by me.

"Ladder one to base, fire under control, we're mopping up"

"Should I get a halligan to open that safe?"

*I go a bust out some windows to help vent.*

"Negative, let the police open it, get in here with a smoke ejector on the second floor, then get the engine's and start in on the first floor."

"Got it!"

I go to the ladder and grab the smoke ejector fan.

Can I get a tow truck to pick me and my car up and bring us to the complex.

"Roger that Davis, I start breaking windows to let out smoke.

"John how's it going on the roof do you need help?"

*I continue to saw the roof open and let most of the smoke vent.*
"So far, half the roof is cut open."
*I saw the last piece of the 1/2 of the roof and stop*
"Half the roof is gone. I'm coming back down."
*I get down and set the ladder back. I then grab a pike pole and go to the second floor*
"I'm going to start salvage in this room."
*I knock at the ceiling with the pike pole*

"Hey, nice of you to join the party, go get some more salvage covers and cover up the lab in there" I say.

Thanks for your help Davis. I roll him into the back of the ambulance and start a line.
"ALS-1 were in route to the hospital code 3"
Then I contact the hospital
"ALS-1 come in hospital"
"Just letting you know I have a big trauma coming in its a 21 year old male with severe burns to his upper body and a GSW to his right chest. No exit wound is found, patient is very unstable and were en route emergency traffic. Patient is coming from a drug lab and has smoke inhalation. ETA 8 minutes."

(Raven..don't take this the wrong way but don't fool around. I don't want a bad report about fire again from the DC)
"Raven....I'm going into the next room for ventilation."
*I walk out and stay in the other room while ventilating*

"We also have a body in the closet in the living room dead, we'll need forensics down here."

A city tow calls me on the radio and says he is just around the corner and will bring me back to complex. He loads the car up and we head towards the complex. "copa, I'm heading back with a tow" we pull back into the complex and he unloads the car, I thank him, and move my squad into the police bay, and park it.

*I walk out of the room I was ventilating in and go to the living room*
"Hey Ewan, I'm done ventilating the rooms, you want a bag for that?"

(Damn dude, a lot's happened, i've been at the station all day.)
"I need an update on your guys situation. By the way, you let the tank empty on the engine."

**I pull out my clipboard after clicking in my scba and do a quick visual of the house.**

"You have a little fire showing from the attic guys. I'll start the supply line for the engine."

**I go pull the 4" hose, grab a hydrant wrench, crack it a bit to drain the dirty water, connect the 4", open the hydrant, go to the pump and start the tank fill.**

"Thanks Garcia. Fire's out everywhere except the attic. Overhaul is done and 1/2 the roof is open. Ewan help me out here please."
*I grab the hose line and start my way back into the house*
I mutter to myself "I thought I checked this damn house up and down. Oh well."
*I get to the attic and see the fire, still flickering*
"I'm gonna make sure this goes out."
*I turn the nozzle to set it rain (a nozzle setting) and completely extinguish the fire*
"Done"
I radio to Garcia: "Garcia all fires are out."
*I walk outside and put down the nozzle*
"You want me to put the hose back Garcia?"

"Leave a line out for mop up, and the tank's still filling. That's the point of overhaul by the way. Some embers flare up, you got a fire."

"What units are on scene? I have LF-1(P-11, L-1)", BLS-1, ALS-1, PC-6. Any units I missed?"

"I think ALS 1 came....Nevermind they left. No you got everyone Garcia."
*I stand and wait for the tank to fill up (thanks for the overhaul advice) and start packing the other line.*
"Hey can someone help me pack this?"

"Yeah, I'll help you pack up. Just disconnect from the hydrant. I'll go up top."

**I jump up top to help pack the hose after shutting off the pump and closing the inlets.**

"Report for this 1's gonna be long. haha"

"Hey that's how it is in your position Haha."
*I start disconnecting the hose from the hydrant and put the tools back into the compartments. I then climb onto the side of the truck and grab the hose*
"That was a crazy fire but *SIGH* I'm very glad it's over. I'm getting a god sleep after this."
*I still keep folding and passing it over to Garcia.*

**I see some people gathering close to the Ladder so I go over there**

"Hey, move back 20ft! Can I have someone over here to help with crowd control!"

**We finish the hose**

"Okay. Preliminary T.O's report for this incident. Scene is accessible for EMS."

Incident: Structure Fire
Casualties: N/A Critical, N/A Moderate N/A Minor 1 Death
Notes: Structure gutted, crime scene.

Stuff to work on: Don't rush crews, and don't rush through incidents. I noticed truck showed up on scene, and rushed the engine. Engine responds in normal time, but other people have stuff to do. If you don't have an engine, do not start. Hold off, conditions don't change in this like in rl. Wait for a T.O to do his size-up of the scene. The T.O will determine entry tactics and how to fight the fire. Making sure you have water to your rig. The rig was out of water before you even entered, the monitor takes up large amounts of water, which is why we start a 4" supply line. Next, posting call related stuff in the station. If you guys rush through a call again with this many issues, I will work with Burke on a mandatory training so you can learn that each job has a role, and not to rush people. This is a forum, not rl. If it takes time for someone to post, so be it.

Burke, this is the unofficial report and what I see that needs to be worked on. Units are still doing operations in overhaul and clearing out any victims, as well as preserving parts for PD.

I agree fully, but we can use this call as a training one and I myself learned some new things and im sure others will have learned too. The one suggestion i would have is normally with something like this you would want fire on stand by close by or at least a RA. I know when we serve high risk warrants we coordinate with local fire and ems rescores.

**I see another crowd of people near the other end of the street so I walk over there.**

"Hey, can you please back up, thats good, thanks."

**I see a news van roll up**

"Great, Just what we need! Burke what should I do?"

"Everything except my clipboard and my b.a aren't on the engine." (It's more or less a general reminder, I've seen quite a few calls where someone didn't do the supply. And then canadains need an entire engine crew and 5 minutes just to crack 1 open. Sorry, it's just a point directed at the Alberta firefighters.)
