James High Auto Alarm

*Emergency Service Phone rings*
"ERT COPA, go ahead Phoxlind Fire"
"We've got another automatic alarm at James High, fourth this week, so far all have been false. Nothing visible in the area according to PPD, but we don't have the manpower to investigate another false one. We've only got two trucks left in service at station and they're at 1. Can you get someone out there?"
"Yeah, sure, I'll send the rescue to check it out and a couple boys from the complex secondary to assist with the search, send over call transfer. That's a big building isn't it?"
"Four stories, plus a basement, and well, last count, over 100 rooms. At least it should be empty!"

*I wake up from my nap*(cause i have no clue where i am)
'Alright boys lets rock and roll actually lets go slow they can crawl through the halls for no reason'

*I get into my truck with just my tunrout pants on and I get my headset on. I close the door and put on my seatbelt.*
'Ok, lets go.'

*I run out into the bays and put on my turnout gear and get in.*

'Lets rock and roll boys!'

* i jump up from doseing off in front of the tv and throw my bunkers on and put my helemt and jacket on the center counsel*
* i start the truck up and climb in as everyone else gets in, and pull the truck out a little bit*
( should i put us en route?)

* I walk out to the engine, open my door and throw my bunker pants on. I climb aboard the engine and place my coat on the floor at my feet. I put my headset on and roll down my window. *

" Pump-11 responding "

' Alright Tim lets move out when ur ready. '

' alright you got it'
*I flip the switch, turn on the lights and put my head set on*
* we start rolling out of the complex and i hit the air horn and q as we pull out into heavy traffic*

*quickly I put the dishes down and run out to the bay and get my turnouts on. I climb abord the truck in the back right seat behind Floan. As we pull out of the station I hear the q wind up as we soar through the sentry gates into traffic. I see the light traffic begin to somewhat part for us as we go.

"Lt. Will we need medical on this one? Do we know of any people inside?"

*As I wait for a response I begin to slip into my SCBA pack and get ready to jump out when we get to the school.

* i continue to pull out after traffic finally breaks*
' wow, its about freakin time'
' floan, look on the eat, but im thinkin taking this to Keller, that way we can come on the back side of the building and squad and rescue can assemble in the front'
* we continue to travel through the higly densed traffic*

*I finally get my pack on and straped. I grab my mask and hook it on the front of my shoulder strap and check to see that it isn't cought around anything. we keep moving through traffic and I can see a full intersection up ahead with a red light. I roll down my window so I can get some air and clear my head as we come up on the intersection.

As Davis drives I gear up, I put on my SCBA and get my tools ready

*We leave the station as I control my side of the Q blaring on intersections every once in a while to get people's attention.*
'You guys know what to do. Since this'll probably be a BS call, just get your BA's on.'
*I look at Moon.*
'That means you Moon. So get the TIC Mitch, and Moon get a pike. I'll be behind you guys with a tnt.'
*I look forward and pull the airhorn a few times.*
'Heard you nappin' Moon... and I was downstairs hahahaha.'
*I smile then look outside. I turn my focus back in front of me and pull the airhorn a bit more.*

((Sorry internet outages, fucked up my thing but I had orders ready.))
"Break off into groups of two, Floan you and your partner check the fire alarm control panel, find out where the alarm was tripped. I want another group to do a recon of the building quickly the rest take it slow, one TIC per group without special orders."

'Ok, we're going to be in control of the exterior parts of the building. Same orders but outside.'
"Rescue 1 to LFO, we'll take recon of the exterior of the school copy?"
'C'mooonn move!'
*I grab the mic and press switch to the PA mode.*
'Hey, guy driving the black car, move up! We gotta go!'
*I switch the siren mode back to yelp and put the mic back.*
'Huhhhhh.'

"Take interior, exterior defeats the entire purpose of everything I just said not to mention PPD already did an exterior check."

* We turn right at the corner and see the High school, the engine makes another right at the entrance and goes into the High School parking lot. *

" Pump-11 On Scene Nothing showing.....investigating, BREAK Pump-11 to Squad 1 I copy your last on the alarm box we'll start at the front office "

' Tim, Jack lets go ahead and grab a couple 2" lines but dont hook them up, there has tob e an internal Stand pipe somewhere in the building we can check the chart when we get inside. John can you grab an Axe and the TIC, I'll grab my halligan and an ALS bag just to be sure and we will all go inside together. '

* I put my Turnout coat on and my Nomex on my head and quickly pull it down around my neck.

After weaving past the slow black car I continue towards the scene with the other ERT units.

"No smoke yet Hannahan."

'Hopefully.'
"Rescue 1 copies. We'll start in front and work our way back."
*I put the mic back and we pull in front of P-11 so as not to block them in case we find something. I jump out and put on my jacket.*
"Rescue 1 on scene."
*I the reach in the seat and take out the SCBA from the grip of the seat. I put it on quickly and tighten up. After, I go to the drivers side of the truck and grab the TNT tool. While I'm there, I grab the TIC and give it to Mitch. Since the pike is on the other side, I'll allow Moon to get it. I close the compartment and go around the truck to the double doors in front of the building.*
'I'll be behind you Mitch.'

*I look behind me and see my BA i look in front of mee and see the fubar.... I hop out and grab the fubar leaving my ba behind and follow mitch*
'Alright lets go'
*I say as finish puttin my gloves on but don't do up my jacket*

* i pull up infront of the school as the q winds down, and spot a hydrant right near the curb in front of the main entrance*
' floan we'll tap into that one if need be'
* i get out of the truck and finish putting my nomex and jacket on and throw on a scba but leave it loose*
( are these 2" lines we're pulling preconnected or what? im just confused on why we would pull them, wouldnt we just grab high rise packs?)

*i jump out of the truck with an scba. I smile at the sound of the Q winding down. I leave my facepiece in the bag, figuring it won't be much of anything*

' Casey can you help Tim and jack with the High Rise Packs. '

'okey dokie, lieu.
*I walk over to where tim and jack are.*
'what up, guys?
*i grab a high rise pack.*

'Got it Lt.'

*I finish adjusting all of my SCBA straps and grab the TIC and clip it to my gear as I walk to grab the Pick Head Axe and walk over to the rest of the crew.*

'Ok guys I'm ready.'

(Sorry, just got back in from FF 1&2 class and off to bed now. Godmod me.)

*I pull the truck up onscene.*

"Squad 1 onscene."

*I put on my gear and SCBA. Then I get a TIC and a halligan.*

'OK Raven, who should be in my group?'

*As the pump pulls up and comes to a halt, I am already almost out the door with my SCBA on my back. I jump up and tighten the pack soo it fits snuggly against my back. I get the orders from Lt. Floan and jog to the back of the truck and grab a high rise pack and throw it uo on my shoulder. I go back to meet with Floan so we can all enter together with my pack up on my shoulder.

'I'm ready Lt.'

I get out of the squad with my BA on and with my halligan.
'We're should we start captain?'

* i tighten my straps on my scba and grab a portable and clip it to my scba*
* i take a high rise pack and throw it over my shoulder and grab a set of irons*
' ok floan, where we headed?'

'Ok, lets head straight down towards the back. Maybe we'll find something there, maybe we won't but keep your eyes peeled just in case.'
*I make sure my scba is tightly on my waist and back for ease of movement and get my frip on my tnt.*
'Alright lets go.'

* I tighten the straps on my SBCA and look at the rest of my crew who are assembled and ready to go. *

' Alright guys lets head in the main entrance and find the main office be sure to check for a Junction box and an alarm box. '

" Pump-11 Command to Squad 1 LFO We have made netrance into the quad area of the school and are headed for the main office. "

*I throw the high rise pack over my shoulder and make sure the nozzle is on tight. the ends of the hose bounce as I walk over to the rest of the guys. lastly, I crack open my bottle and check my air level. the PASS goes "beep-beep-beep" in response. my bottle is 100% full.*
'Let's rock & roll, gentleman.'

*I walk with the rest of the pump crew into the quad of the school. Floan looks around and sees the office and goes in. I can hear the wine of the alarms going off all through the school. I look down the halls for any sign of a glow of fire, but just see the flash of the guidance beacon and the long dark halls.

'This is a way bigger school then what I went to back in Maine, the alarm was also just a bell, not these things.'

I go in and take the basement.

* i follow the crew in*
' god i hate these freakin alarms'
* i walk into the office with everyone else and being to look for the alarm box*
' oh c'mon it cant be that hard to find, you'd think it would be obvious'

"Raven, should Jansen and I meet you down there?"

* We all walk into the Main office and I see the Alarm box, I walk over to it and look at Multiple alarms going off.*

' Hmm Interesting. '

" Pump-11 Command to Squad 1 LFO We have 3 alarms going off Reading as follows.

1st Alarm is in Basement level Laundry/ Utility Room
2nd Alarm is on 3rd floor Chemistry lab
3rd Alarm is on 3rd Floor Unknown room type but I see on the diagram its the room next to the Chem lab, how copy over? "

' Um guys this might get a little bad here so make sure EVERYBODY has their masks ready, dont mask up until positive contact with Smoke and make sure u all have ur gloves on. '

"Copying, This could be another false alarm, or they could have a fire in the walls, so be careful. Make sure to be geared up just in case"

*with the possibility of something i turn my air pack on and let air flow to my mask and then close it off*
' well, shall we go investigate?'

*Before we head in, I grab a preconnect off the truck and charge it, just in case. I set it down and head to the basement with Raven.*

*I turn on my bottle so I have air at my mask and turn the TIC on and check the celibgs and walls as we go.*

'All good so far guys.'

' Ok guys lets start towards the 3rd floor. stick together, Matthews once we are on the 3rd we'll split off, you take Van Der Water and Jack, Head left and I'll take John and head right, we'll meet in the Middle, remember to check ur walls and ceiling integrity.'

* We all start walking towards the staircase and begin our ascent towards the 3rd floor. *

' Oh Lord I hate stairs. '

" Pump-11 Command to Squad 1 LFO, We will take the 3rd and investigate. Be advised Nothing showing on the staircase at this time. "

'I am with you there Lt. I shoulda gone on that jog with you earlier'

I let out a sigh as I begin up the first set of floors, I remember the crap our chem teacher let us play with and realize how bad this could really be if there is a fire. I check my mask and it looks okay, so I check to be sure my air pack is full which it is. I keep on trudgeing up the stairs as I arrive on the second flight going to the third floor. I don't notice any smoke or see any glow from a fire.

'Lt., Did you happen to see where the stand pipe is when you were checking the alarms?'

I say this thinking about the hose on my shoulder.

* I hear jack ask about the pipe on the 3rd floor and I realize that i had forgotten something. *

' uhhhh yea I did once you reach the 3rd floor and you make a left.....start walking around the floor and i can guarantee its.......somewhere.....over....you know around the 3rd floor somewhere lolol........yea i forgot to check that lol. '

* I chuckle and continue walking up stairs, we come to the 2nd floor and continue up. *

I walk down with davis and have my tools in my hand.

'They should really check this buildings fire alarms'

'I think the pumper crew is taking care of that.'

*I arrive in the basement and find Raven. I take out the TIC and start searching a wall for fire. *

*We finish looking on the first floor and I radio to all units.*
"Rescue 1 to COPA and LFO, First floor is clear. I'm sending two to the basement and I'm heading upstairs."
'Moon, Mitch, back up Squad 1 in the basement. I'm heading upstairs with P-11 so keep me updated."
*We split ways and I head upstairs to the third floor. As I climb up, I smell nothing but I hear the rustling and walking of the Pumper crew.*

*I work my way up the stairs with the rest of the crew.*

'Why did we have to eat right before this!? Lol'

'I know, right? lol.'
*I smell the air, but there are no signs of fire. I can hear hannahan trailing behind us.*

* i climb up the stairs with the rest of the crew*
' alright sounds good floan, might need an AED up there for me after climbing these though haha'
* we get to the3rd floor*
' alright, ready to break off and investigate?'

* I look at timand see no smokeon either side of the building. *

' Yea I'll rendeaveau with you at the Chem lab. radio me if you have any issues. '

* I give Tim a pat on the shoulder and walk off in my direction with John next to me. *

" Pump-11 command to Rescue 1 Command, When you reach the 3rd can you make a right and head my direction, I have a crew heading to the left and we will all meet in the middle if no contact has been made however they are a party of 3 and im a party of 2 so you will be my 3rd lol. "
