Post by DCBurke Thu Aug 05, 2010 4:11 am

I hear the chatter about the news crews, and noticing our men are busy, I dispatch a nearby city unit to disperse the crowds.

"ERT COPA to 356" I say on the PD radio channel "We've got some rubbernecks at our fire on 44 jackson, and my police are busy can you get uout there, clear them back and tape it off? MY firefighters are kinda busy.

"Copy that ERT, en route, code 3"
    "We're ch2"
    I switch to us

"Scene, be advised, police en route for crowd control. I'll be contacting the stations personally regarding their behaviour. Might issue fines

*I wrap the tape around the poles and tie a fit knot at the last pole*
    "Scene secure."
*I start looking around and make sure nothing is on the floor and pick up an axe that was behind the engine on the floor*
    "Wonder who left this here?"
*I put it back into the compartment in the rear and shut it*
    "Good."

Copy that Garcia, I'm showing a dispute in body count from your men, I'll check with the hospital on this one. I've already got the coroner on the scene to take away the executed one.

Raven and entry team, pull out, lock on some SCBA. No one enters that house at all without SCBA. Got it? Anyone caught entering without SCBA on will be removed from active duty! There is a high chance of death from entering the house with no SCBA due to all the toxic fumes that could be there. Anyone inside without SCBA will be reprimanded.

Lets get this fire out and done with, I've got the FBI and DEA breathing down my neck looking for some answers.

"EVERYONE PULL OUT" I yell and pull on the lineman's shoulder, "Let's get our breathing gear on and tap a hydrant, then take out the garage door. I switch out my tanks. "Davis take the jaws of life and open up the garage, Hannahan get up on the deck gun once we tap and take out any fires in the garage. Burke, I have two bodies that I recovered, one is dead, female in the living room closet, I only checked for pulse and pronounced dead, then we put salvage covers on her to prevent further damage to crime scene. We have a GSW vic enroute to the hospital in critical condition. Will remain onscene until FBI and or DEA arrives."

((Garcia if you want next call just PM me for what's going on that way it seems like you're informed constantly. And no Davis I only found one, I think hold on... Yeah I see where people are tripping up, I only found two, but I referenced one again and it made it seem like there was another, there were only two vics, the female dead one and the GSW dude.))

((Since when? Well then again I've used the old ones where they were literally used to spray down people who were contaminated, I assume power and GPM have increased? I've been to garage fires and that's what we do, we shut off the power then a crew goes in with spreaders, opens up the door and then goes to another end to jack up the door more, if fire comes up the bottom we use either the new truck and pierce the aluminum sheet. If not we raise it up go in with attack lines and fog it down. Lol Major fire department regs vs backwoods town rednecks and immigrants. Oh well, crap now I wanna take the new truck to a garage fire... I'm not going to say what we did to the safety labels on the truck. OMG half the guys on this show my wife watches are super queers, kinda funny lol. Oh and the reason why we use the duck gun is it's a larger volume of water at a safer spot, and then steam will knock it down, granted it does have a few flaws it does work...))

The garage door isn't budging. "Hannahan bounce it in under the gap, the steam will knock down the flames... I hope."

"Garcia did you get my update on the body count?"
COPA's getting the information on that. thanks Very Happy
((Yeah, GPM's have increased, the ones now have a saftey pin so it can't go below a certain point unless the pin is pulled, which then everyone must be notified and cleared, otherwise it kills people. We're not allowed to use the monitor here on a fire unless it's 2 stories+ and unable to be entered. lol! but yeah, there's a bunch of safety procedures that are mandatory for deck gun use. We're not even allowed to use a deck gun on a garage fire. Vent it, cut it open and drown with 2 1/2" lines and 1 3/4" interior. lol.))

((Lines for hazmat? Negative. 2 1/2" hand lines are used for large structural fires.))

"How did you get on the roof? Truck crews are venting. Ewan, try with the circular saw."

Guys, I didn't think I needed to send direct orders, but a roof job is done by the truck crew, not the pumper crew. Pumper handles ground ops, truck handles high up jobs.

((Not on the roof lol, a magical safety pin, I'm going to volunteer on the new pump then. Also "Honey we have to go in for work tonight" "Oh yeah" I go throw on my crew shirt, thirty minuets later she steps out of the bathroom. Oh well at least I get to watch cartoons =-D))

I grab the K-12 and fit a rescue blade, then I open up the garage. "Probie whose name I haven't learned yet, back up Hannahan."

*I backed up so Raven can get to the garage. As he opened the garage, I sprayed the fire on the floor.*
