Arson Fire

"Ladder 1 to DCF1 and COPA, everthing looks clear from up here. Can we come back down?"
*I take my hand off of my mic and see my tank is 1/2 empty again.*
'Dang, this empties quickly.'
*I start picking up and sifting through the mostly melted rubble looking for any flammable parts.*

"RA1 standing by for Rehab and RIT."

*I cough a little*
'Hmm probably should of masked up meh what ever if i'm way more likely to die from other reasons. Hey lt. you ready to get the heck out of here?'

Me and Cory watch the fire while talking about the patients we treated.

'I'm going to bring the hoses down guys. I'll leave on down here for you.'
*Me and another PFD firefighter who offered to help me, helped me bring the hoses downstairs and pack it back on the truck in three layer load format. I put one crosslay in minuteman format and fix it to look nice.*
"Ladder 1 command to interior, I'll be in rehab for 2 minutes. I'll meet you back up with a tic and pike."
*I walk over to M-5.*
'Hey Angus, tired yet?'

'Okay guys lets get out of here'
*I head out with me and my crew and follow Lt. Hannahan

*I follow the rest of the guys. I take off my helmet and brush ashes out of my hair. I wipe sweat off my forhead. my gloves leave a huge, black mark. I look at my reflection in my mask, hoping the guys wouldnt notice * ah... crap,lol.

*as I walk out I head over to the pumper and stow my gear away and check my phone for messages. I think to myself it's always amazing thing thing doesn't melt inside my pants I should probably stop carrying this into burning buildings with me*

"Tired? Never."

*I check his vitals*
"Your vitals are slightly elevated, but you should be fine.*
*I had him a bottle of water*

lol moon.

*I go and get some remaining water out of a hoseline and splash it on my face. I let it run down my chest and back.*

'Whoo!, lol.

*I put my SCBA back and take off my coat and helmet.*

'Ahhh... that feels nice! (that's what she said, lol.)

(You're too young to know what that means!! lol)
'Thanks Angus. Have a good day.'
*I take the water bottle and calmly drink it after taking off my mask. I then put the bottle in my pocket and grab a TIC with the pike pole. After putting my sweaty mask back on, I trudge back upstairs and start cheking through rubble.*
'I've got no hotspots here.'

((I know what it means haha. Sorry for the slow response, but it's hard when you're busy and one of the most active on call.))

'Great, fire's out! Hey guys, I'll be heading out for rehab. Hannahan if you need me just call.'

*I pull my line back downstairs, disconnect it, roll it up, and throw it back on the truck. Then I take off my SCBA, put it away, and head to the cab. I open up the driver's side door and throw my coat and helmet on the seat. Then I head over to the RA.*

'Hey guys, what's up? Can you give me a checkup real quick?'

"Ladder 1, COPA receives your transmission about PFD progress thanks. Any additional status updates on the fire? And as soon as you guys knockdown fire can you do a par check?"

*I sit back in the swivel chair watching the call board and video of the TAC job and Fire.

(Like my new vocabulary of firefighting terms? )

'Thanks Davis.'
"Fire is knocked down now and under control. We're packing up now. The first through fourth floor has been overhauled mostly by PFD. We should be finished in about 20-30 minutes and all officers remember to do a par check after knockdown...repeat par check on knockdown. COPA, do you copy that transmission?"
*I knock down walls and parts of the roof that's still intact.*
(You've been waiting to use that word haven't you. lol)

"Hannahan, we clear to start packing up?"

"RA1 has par."

"Copy that RA-1, can we get an update on final progress? I just got of the line with the PFD Deputy Chief, he said he'll be coming down to the scene as soon as you guys are clear to finish up overhaul and that with his guys, so we can get back in service"

'Kelly, you wanna finish this one off? I've gotta head down to my office to check something out, I'll keep an eye on the TAC transmissions as well though'

'Yeah, no problem Burke.'

*I turn back to my dispatch computers

"Yeah we're packing up. Just pack up the supply and everything."
'Alright Ladder 1 guys, we're done. Rehab time.'
*I start my way downstairs and get to the truck and go to the RA.*
'All of my guys are with me. I'm going to be packing up if you need me.'
*I walk back to the truck and start putting chainsaws and things away.*
'Oh Jess, I want you to drive the SEV back for me since Austin is in the hospital.'

*I get out of the RA and put the RIT and HRES packs away. I clean up the back and make sure we are ready to go. I head up front and hop in the officer's seat.*
'That was one heck of a good run, right Mitch?'

*i shut the supply line down and drain it out then i pack it back on the ladder truck. i then shut the hand lines down and walk them out and pack them back on*

'Good job Bruce.'
*I go over to Chris Mcevoy.*
'Hey, you want me to do anything else?'

I grab my pike pole and begin to tear at the walls. My PASS goes of and startles me. I check my air and I am down to 5 minutes. I take my BA off and smell the smokey remains of the building. I walk down the stairs and see plenty of PFD guys finishing up. I make my way to the pumper to change out bottles. I decide to head over to RA-1 for rehab.

'Hey guys, how is Botfish doing?'

'I think he's going to be fine, they just need to check him out.'

*I go over my clipboard and see everything is in place.*
"Ladder 1 to COPA, can we clear?"

*I see Mitch hop in the driver's seat ready to go.*
"RA1 to COPA, requesting permission to clear and return to quarters."

"Rescue and Ladder you can clear."

*i strip down to just my turn out pants and a tee shirt and climb into the drivers seat and start to shut emergency lights down*

(last post was over twelve hours ago so I'm going to go ahead and ask to clear)

*I hop up in my seat and press the button for COPA*
"COPA P-11 requesting to clear"

*I reach down and grab the radio mic, as mitch starts the truck up and heading for the station.*
"RA1 to COPA we're clear of the scene, back in service returning to quarters."
*I put the radio mic back on the hanger and kick back in my seat.*

"Rescue 1 available 22:08, Pumper 11 you can clear."

I hear that we can clear and help finish putting things away. I do a walk around on the truck and by this time all the P-11 crew are back to the pump. I take off my helmet and coat. I put my coat on the drivers seat and my helmet on the dash. I jump up in my seat and shut down all the lights.

'Everyone ready?'

"Cressler copies"
'Alright anders ready to roll go ahead and drive us out of here'


(p.s. with the new station opening you might want to star adding ambulance when you say rescue 1 haha)

I take off the parking brake and start the truck around the block to head home. Once at the station I pull up on the apron and hit the lights before backing into the station.

" Pump-11 Clear returning to station "

* I put my headset on and lean back in my seat as the truck pulls away. *

"Ladder 1, returning to station."
*I jump in my truck and click my SCBa back into its place then put my headset and seatbelt on closing my eyes and drinking from my water bottle.*

(hey man not trying to take your command or anything just trying to get out of here)

( no worries i know why u want to clear lol. Good luck on the new truck. )

*I move up to the front of the rig and pick up the mic*

"M5 to COPA, are we cleared to leave?"

*I shrug as the ladder leaves and pack up the equipment. I head towards the station*

*I hop back in the squad, turn off the lights and head back to the station.*
"Squad 1 is back in service, returning to station."
