Arson Fire

" Pump-11 to Ladder 1 Attack is going good, No injuries to report and we are moving forward, we should be on the 2nd floor in about 10 minutes. "

* I walk forward and Kick over more of the debris. *

" ERT Pump-11 to PFD Engine 1, can you drop 2 lines on the 1st floor with us, we are going t start making our way to the 2nd floor when you guys arrive, BREAK Pump-11 to Ladder 1 how is the attack going up there, do u need assistance or can we bypass you and head to the 3rd when PFD comes to us. "

* I walk over to Anders and Matthews. *

' U guys ok, need anything, Just keep going like u are we'll get it. '

' We're good LT'
* Jack and i continue to sweep the hose around knocking down anything that flares up as we begin to move towards the 2nd floor stairs*

*I stick with Moon as we follow behind Jack and Tim.*

"Ladder 1 command to Pumper 11 command, the stairway is blocked by heavy amount of fiya here. We're working on it now. I'm taking down the stairway fire while the other half of my crew has the hallways and rooms. Other than that, no, everything is good here. BREAK Ladder 1 command to crew, give me an update as soon as possible."
*I open the door to the stairwell and see fire all over the place. I then switch to the fog setting on my nozzle to attack more of the area and look back occasionallly to see if I could see my crew. I can so I move forward into the stairway a bit but far enough that I could still see my guys.*

*I go to the squad, grab some water, chug it down, and get a new bottle. I grab my line, turn on my SCBA, and head in. I see the crews and feel the heat of fire all around me.*

'Hey, can I get someone to take rooms with me? We gotta split up and take sections of each floor.'

*I head to a room and start spraying the doorway and the ceiling.*

(BEFORE YOU READ THIS I CLEARED IT WITH BURKE SO NO OOC YELLING AT ME...IC I will deserve to get yelled at later)




"Cressler to L1 ccommand we got a second stairway over here"

*I tap floan on the shoulder and give him the signal were moving up to the 3rd floor. I take the nozzle from colwell and lead the charge up to the third floor as we hit the third floor we make entry to the first room on the left where the door is already open it's a large partially involved apartment we move in and start to put water on the flames and douse them down when about 10 feet behind us part of there is a small explosion from under there cupboards which knocks over the fridge and caves part of the wall in. I look around the apartment trying to find a way out and I take my axe to the walls that are solid brick and my axe just glances off.*

'Uhoh buddy looks like were stucke.'

*I pop out the windows to prevent a flash over.*

'Okay you cover the flames and keep us cool I'll make the radio call'

"MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY 2 FF's trapped not injured 3rd floor north east most apartment in the CD corner need egress ladder immediately door is blocked we are still receiving water flow to our hose approx 30 minutes of air left. *I hear another mayday*
'Nooo!... not ano.... another one!'
*I say feeling really dizzy*

( I dont even kno what to say right now. )

' Ok the crew that is left with me we got another mayday lets go get them. '

" Pump-11 Command to Pump-11 Cressler, Hey John wayne Just hold on, the little people like the rest of your team are coming to get you. just hold on. BREAK, Pump-11 Command to Ladder 1 command I have 2 men trapped on the stairwell that was supposedly blocked can I get some assistance."

"negative you can't even tell where the door was it just all looks like a wall we tried moving debris were gonna need a ladder out of here"

* I think to myself *
' great Now more crews have to be put in harms way. '

" Pump-11 Command to Chief McEvoy, I hae 2 men down on the 3rd somewhere, can i have all units on the interior to rally on the 3rd floor for Rescue and salvage Operations please. "

' Matthews, Anders, Kill your line and pull out of the building. We need to rally at the engine, change our bottles, grab an axe and Halligan and head up to the third floor to get Cressler and the probie. '

* I run out of the building, take my mask and cover off, switch my bottle and wait for the rest of what is left of my crew to come over, I look at Casey still manning the deck gun. *

' Casey, Kill the Deck Gun, Mask up and get ready to go in with us. '

* I grab a bottle of water and a cloth, I pour the water on the cloth and drape it over my face. *

I hear the Mayday call and immediately check my SCBA and put on the mask. I grab a halligan and axe and head over to the Pumper ready to help them out if they need help.

" ERT Pumper-11 to PFD Ladder-3 can we get your stick over to my men on the 3rd floor, BREAK Pump-11 Command to Pump-11 Cressler, can you ssend some signal of where you are to the PFD crew attempting to locate you with their ladder. "

* I wipe the water off of my face and start to grab an Axe off the truck to be taken inside with me. *

'Matthews, Anders and Van Der Water grab another Axe and a Halligan and lets go around to the side of the building where our guys are, we cna get up the ladder to get them when the PFD Ladder crew locates them. '

"Copy sending water out the window low velocity"

'Here give me the hose.'

*I take the hose of colwell and wet it to a wide fog and back it down on the power and blow some out the window we had smahed out enough to be visible but not enough to hurt anyone on the ground I hold it there for a few seconds to make sure they got us*

"Cressler to ground got our location?"

"Copy that, ALL ERT UNITS we are commensing a search and rescue mission for the two ff's."

* I get a commnication from the PFD ladder crew saying they have Located the spray from our men and they are starting to throw their stick to the location of the spray. *

" ERT Pump-11 copies, we are heading to your location now, we will climb the ladder to get to them, just move it inot position. "

' Ok guys lets move to get the Probie and Cressler out. '

* I start running over to the Ladder with the rest of my crew, I see the water spray coming out of the 3rd floor. I walk over to the guys from the ladder crew, thank them and start climbing the stick to the 3rd Floor. I Look back at my guys who are starting to Follow me up the ladder. *

' come on guys only 3 floors to go lolol WOOHOOOO '

*I knock the rest of the fire down, and wait for the crew to get to us.*
'Thanks Cressler. My first time inside a structure fire and you get us trapped!'

( yea this is gonna be a lot easier and safer then doing a search for them)
* I start to climb up the ladder after floan to retrieve moon and the probie*
' floan: we should probably kill those lines inside if no one is using them, if the fire begins to melt the hose water will just start spraying and th hose will go flying everywhere, but im sure we will have pull the hose out before then..just a thought to keep in mind'

' The lines should have been killed per my instructions before you and jack left the building tim. but lets focus on getting these 2 out then we will get back to the lines. '

* I reach the top and climb into the window, i see Cressler and Colwell standing there. The rest of my team enters the building. *

' well since we are already forced to be up here lets dig our way out of this place and gt back into the fight. '

" Pump-11 to ALL Units on scene I have reached the trapped firefighters, we are attempting to dig our way out before we abandon hope and climb down the stick, just keep it in place for now. "

*I start working at clearing all of the debris. I start to see an opening.*

'Hey Floan, I think I got a big enough hole here that we might be able to crawl through. We would have to take off our air packs though, but I think we can do it.'

* I see the glow of fire on the other side and start to dig more agressivly and finally get a space open wide enough to see onto the other side. *

' No John hold up lets keep digging. '

" Pump-11 to OSC, We have broken through the rubble and are continuing the fight on the 3rd level. "

' ok u guys lets keep on it, Matthews, Van Der Water, grab Cresslers line and lets start hitting it again, Everybody else grab the Tearout tools and lets start doing some extra demo in here. NOBODY else get seperated from this group, It seems thats always a problem for us isnt it. '

' lt whose gonna take the other line?'
* i grap the line and open the nozzle and begin to clear a path for us*

*I keep on digging, pulling chucks of conrete, metal, and other debris out of the pile of rubble.*

"Ladder 1 command to P-11, where are you now? Did you find both firefighters? We could get the stick over to you."
(I was gone when Moon decided to catch a building again)
*We move forward after extinguishing the hallway and stairwell after intense fighting and I grab my mic again.*
"Ladder 1 command to Chris, kee fighting the fire but get ready to move the ladder if necessary."

" Pump-11 Command to Ladder 1. We have found our men and have continued the fight on Level 3, PFD Crews are on Level 1. We will remain on lvl 3 until fire is out. Try to get PFD crews to take other levels. "

' just keep hitting the fire u guys, we'll get a handle on this floor then move to help the other units on the other floors. '

"10-4 Pumper 11. Any available PFD engine's DCF1?"
*I stand up and we all check the second floor after the fire's out and we find everything is fine so we start breaking down walls.*
(Sorry for epic godmodding but the attendance level on this truck is just sad)
"Ladder 1 to COPA and DCF1, fire on the second floor is extinguished."

(Attendance is probably low, since this is easter weekend, and people like to travel)
"Copy, proceed to continue on"

*I hurry upstairs after hearing the mayday.*
"Hey guys, where do you want me? I'm on my way up."
*I run upstairs breathing heavily.*

((aahhh long day but a three day weekendis here!))

*I quickly take up a position behind Tim to support him as he sprays. I watch as the flames slowly sizzel and diminish. I look around and can see Floan and Colwell digging at the debris opening a nice hole. I can see Cressler moving over to help also. I fell the pressre change as Tim changes to a fog pattern to attack the flames. I see flames begin to crawl across the ceiling.

'Hey Tim hit the ceiling, we have flames above us.'

(Not the only squad member, I just can't do much as a Probie.)

I follow Davis up into the building and prepare to help him in any way I can.

* I give jack the thumbs up and begin to start aiming at the eiling thinking to myself how could i forget that? must be the two maydays have pulled me out of my game*
* we start to advance forward slowly, but surely*

*I pull at the hose as we walk through the hallway of the apartment building. There are doors open, or missing everywhere. What a mess the people will have to go through. The flame behind us are out and I can feel the air being sucked into the fire.

'Good job Tim, keep it up!'

"Pump-11 Van Der Water to Pump- 11 or Ladder-1 interior, How are things in there? Do you need the deck gun anywhere in perticular?

"Ladder 1 command to P-11 Van Der Water, everything is good on the second floor. We're just doing a quick check then we'll go up to the third."

' Ok guys just keep hitting it on this floor, We'll hook up with hannahan's crew after this floor is clear. '

* I start looking around for anything that needs to be tipped over to show more fire. The fire looks like its starting to subside. *

" Pump-11 Command to Ladder 1 Command the fire on hte 3rd here is starting to diminish, how is your area coming?. "

* Jack and i keep sweeping our way through the floor as a lot of stem starts to form and the smoke becomes more heavy and white*
' doin good guys!'

*as I continue to spray, I notice the fire is starting to die out. I widen the hose pattern so it fits over a window. flames turn into steam.*

'C'mon guys, keep going! *I say to myself*

"Pump-11 Van Der Water to Pump 11 Command, things are starting to look better exterior. Keep up the good work in there."

* jack and I finish off all the visible fire we can see*
"Floan, hit that area up above the desk" * i point to a desk and bookcase near the corner*
" Start ripping that a part, that should be the only place where we may have fire left on this floor"
* jack and i start to pull our line back in that area just in case*

' got it. '

* I go over and tip the bookcase over and start tearing at it. *

' hit this area guys that should be the end of it on this floor. '

" Pump-11 Command to OSC, fire on the 3rd floor is almost out and we will be available for tasking shortly, where would you like us next. "

* I take the hose and only open it halfway and dose a few embers*
* i look at the ceiling and shine my flaslight up there*
* ' hmm, can definitly tell it's arson, looks like these sprinklers never went off, some one must of shut them down before hand' i say to myself*

*I tear up debris piles and walls looking for hotspots*
'Everything looks good Lieutenant.*

' I agree guys, lets keep sifting through everything, there can be NO flare-ups on this floor. '

* I continue going through more debris, and break apart more of the crap that lays around the floor. *

" Pump-11 to OSC, Overhaul of the 3rd floor is underway, still available for tasking to another level if necessary. "

"Ladder 1 command to Pumper 11 command, we have the second floor under control and overhauled. We'll be up on the fourth floor so we'll try to pass you on the third. BREAK Chris, bring the ladder up to the fourth floor and help us out with the fire there then advise me on what it's like up there."
*I drag my line back and go up the stairs to the third floor with my crew with Will still behind me. I then go up to the fourth floor and see some fire burnt itself out so that helped us a lot and I get on my knees being able to see the glow of light called fire and I start spraying as the black smoke gets thicker. I grab my mic to contact COPA and DCF1.*
"Ladder 1 command to COPA and DCF1, fire on the fourth floor mostly burnt itself out. Fire is heavy towards the side B window. We're suppressing now. Standby for more updates momentarily."

*I leave Tim on the line and take my axe to start checking walls. I give the wall a good hit only to have burnt debris fall down around me.

'Lt, this place is fried. It shouldn't be hard to overhaul.

*I take my gloved hand and slowly case the hole I made in the wall. I can feel alot of heat coming out of it.

'Okay guys I think we have fire in the walls, be carefull.'

*I hear Anders and start checking the opposite wall. I break through and find some smoldering insulation.*
'Hey, Moon. Can you bring that 2" over here?'

(Sorry. I've been busy lately. Tornado Warnings popping up around me.)
