High Profile drug deal

I sit down and look at an urgent email that just popped up on my laptop. Apparently the media have found out about this story from a caller in the area, and are going to be headed to the area. I immediately see the dangers and the plus sides to this. IF a reporter sees something they can help us, however they can also give us away... I call the three major news outlets and inform them they are allowed in the area, however msut stay back beyond the police cars for their safety as there are amred suspects in the area.

"COPA, keep us posted on any dangers or anythong noteworthy. We're conducting a search now."

**I check to make sure that we have officers posted at the doors. We're spread kind of thin, but we'll have enough to keep the entrances in view. Because of this, though, I'll be going in on my own into the first building. I open the door into a warehouse, with shelves and shelves of neatly stacked boxes. The lights are off; I bring up my UMP as I go from row to row, looking for suspects.**

*whisper* "Be advised, search is underway."

"Lets clear the building, weapons are free.Copa, be advised search of warehouse is underway."

*I raise my weapon and say*
"Bucello you take point"

(sorry, ive been busy, what you need me to do?)

"Copy Entry Team."

I call over to the warehouse owner and ask if he can secure the building's entrances so that anyone coming out will be identified as either employee or visitor and all visitors to be alerted to us, he agrees, reporting one man leaving through the side service alley entrance. He exited a bathroom according to security and said he lost his visitor pass. I get on the radio

"Outer units, we've got a man in blue jeans and a black plain T exiting the side service entrance after security found him inside with no ID. Can we detain him immediately? After detained, please check washroom for abandoned weapons, goods, clothing etc."


*I wonder... IF he is our man, where could he have hidden his clothes? Maybe he shredded them and flushed them... The goods might be in toilet tanks or anywhere though.. I guess our entry team will find out.*

I hear DC's transmission run over to my car and peel out heading towards the side service entry, I see the guy walking down the street and he seems really surprised when I cut him off with my car and jump out with a weapon drawn on him.
"ERT Police get down on the ground now"
He surprisingly comply's and I walk behind him and cuff him.
"UMC 1 to DC we have the suspect in custody"

*I pull up behind linda*

Hey, do we know who he is?

**I continue the search inside the warehouse with Bridwell behind me. A stack of boxes comes down on my right-hand side.**

'Don't move! You're gonna get shot!'

**Two men crawl out from under the boxes and try to get away. I get on top of one, but the other one moves toward me and reaches into his jacket.**

'On the ground!'

**A pistol comes out of his jacket and I turn away. I hear two shots.**

'I need cover! Someone get me cover!'

**I fire several three-round bursts towards the muzzle flash.**

"ATTENTION, SHOTS FIRED. SHOTS FIRED. Units, be advised that suspects are armed and have fired on the entry team."

"6 copies bucello, im coming toward you location"

*I quickly get to the front of the warehouse.*

"Be advised 6 is entering the building."

*I grip my shotgun tightly and walk in*

I put the guy in the back of my car to be detained.
"Libor I have no idea but he matches the suspect DC was talking about, apparently he got kicked out for not having an id to be in there. DC wants us to search the washroom. I'll stay here with him and pat him down and figure out who he is"
I get him from the back of my car and pat him down, while I pat him down I fill something around his leg, I ask him what it is and he refuses to answer me. I lift up his pants leg and find a bag of cocaine taped to the side of his leg.
"Hmm let me guess this isn't yours? The cocaine fairy just magically put it on you?"
I take it off of his leg and put it on top of my patrol car.
ME:"So whats your name?"
Suspect: "John Wilkens"
ME: "What were you doing over here Mr. Wilkens?"
Suspect: "Visiting a friend in the neighborhood named Mike Kurent he works in that building"
ME:"Alright well your being arrested right now for possession of cocaine and maybe drug trafficking"

*I put him back in the rear of my car and get a evidence bag and put the cocaine in the bag*

"UMC-1 to DC run a check on John Wilkens this is the person in question that I have in custody, also can you run a check on a Mike Kurent who supposedly works in the building he came out of"

**Two more shots ring out. I see the muzzle flashes and fire several three-round bursts at them. I don't hear any other shots.**

'Bridwell, there's one suspect proned out over by the fallen boxes. We need him secured.'

**I take out my flashlight and shine it at where I was firing. A person is lying on the ground with two holes in his chest, another in his throat, and a fourth in his head. While it's not completely necessary, I take his pulse, and - sure enough - he's dead.**

"COPA, we have one suspect deceased. We need a unit to carry the body for autopsy by the medical examiner. Officers should continue with caution in case of further attacks like this one."

"John Wilkens comes up as a no show, there are three registered as living in Phoxlind area. One is recently deceased, one is away to England for a business meeting and one is one of the ERT security officers, and he was injured at the attack. He is currently checked into the hospital for removal of his cast, so get some ID"

I hear the transmission from Bucello come in, and I know this means lots of paper work and another press release for me

"Copy Entry team, I'll alert the coroner and he'll be on scene within the hour to clear off all bodies. Leave him be for now, this is still a hot crime scene. Is the warehouse cleared?"

"The warehouse seems clear, COPA, but by your count, we have at least four armed men at large. Tell any press on the ground to stay away from the area. Air units shouldn't be a problem; there's no television in these warehouses."

**I make one last check in the warehouse for anyone else, and I only find Bridwell.**

"COPA, I'll submit to any investigations that are carried out. All units, be aware that this warehouse is clear and the entry team is moving on."

"Copy entry team, pack up, move out and continue searching. I'll alert Coroner and the Crime unit that the warehouse has been cleared. Please secure the rear door."

"DC he's saying thats his name but I have a hard time believing him, you want me to bring him to the complex for questioning?"

"If he has any ID stating that he's legit, send the info over EAT and I'll run it... Either way, he's under arrest for possesion, so we can bring him in and question anyways"

**I set up outside the second warehouse, which has a thick padlock on the door. It doesn't seem likely that the suspects would be inside, but if they are, it would be a terrible idea to overlook searching the building.**

"Bridwell, should we try to take this lock off?"

"lets break it off, I hid some bolt cutters in the RRT a while back, ill get em."

*Runs to RRT and comes back with bolt cutters*

"1,2,3"

*lock snaps*

"lets move."

**I quickly move inside with my UMP up and ready. I hope that I'll not have to use it again. In this warehouse, it's cold; a lot of the products in here are refrigerated or frozen.**

'We're going row by row.'

**Checking the individual refrigerators and freezers turns up nothing. Anyone hiding in the freezers would've suffered a severe case of hypothermia anyway.**

'Doesn't look like we'll find much here. There's still another warehouse and a three-story administrative building to search.'

"COPA, this is the entry team. The second warehouse seems clear. It's a cold storage warehouse. Anyone inside would've frozen."

*I stand outside by my patrol car watching the suspect in the back. I grab my radio mic from my shoulder flap and speak:*

"PC-7 to command, should we start a perimeter outside to contain the press, over?"

*I let go of the button again and lean against my car, anticipating the result of the search.*

"Secure the area of Union street and the alley ways, as well as any surrounding roads that ERT appear on. "

"lets move to the admin building, there probably there"

'They probably have ways of knowing our movements from inside the building. Should we split up, and raid from two different entrances, or stick to just one door?'

"lets stick with one entry point, were outnumbered, if anything happens we need to be close."

'Alright. They'll probably be at the ground-level doors, but if we move in fast enough, we can take them. On the count of three, we move on the side door over there and make entry. We can't let them see which door we set up at. Ready? One...'

**I raise my UMP.**

'Two...'

**I tense myself to run.**

'Three!'

**I run ahead and open the wooden side door. Someone is standing at the other end of a long, empty and unlit hallway.**

'YOU! Hands up!'

*I turn on my tac light and say*

"Bucello I go you coverd, put him in ties"

**I run quickly up to secure the suspect, who has now proned out on the ground. I take his hands and place them behind his back.**

'I have him! One in custody.'

**I notice one of the doors on the hallway is ajar, while the others are closed. It is marked 'STAIR A'.**

'Looks like the rest might be upstairs.'

**The suspect begins screaming and making noise. I put my hand over his mouth and try to keep him quiet, but the other members of the gang might be aware of us now.**

*I get the barrier tape out of the trunk of my car and start blocking off the alleys first.
I look around for another officer to assist me, but no one seems to be available at the moment...*

The beeper interrupts me about 2 minutes after sitting down in the break room couch for the first real break today. It's been a busy day in the emergency room. Nothing special, just a lot of the ordinary. Bumps, bruises, cuts, dislocations, broken bones and other minor things, plus the usual ODs and beaten wives. I clip the beeper from the waist band of my dark blue scrubs and look at the screen. I'm a bit puzzled at first, as I haven't seen this type of message before, but soon realize it's a non-emergency ERT call. I get up and make my way back to the ER to report to the attending that I've been called out. After reporting to him I make my way to the ambulance bay, where the EDRC is parked.

This will be the first real trip in it, apart from a few laps around the block to familiarize myself with it, and I feel the excitement building as I unlock the driver side door, and get in. The car starts at once, as if it was as anxious as me to get going. I switch on the blue and yellow lights in the lightbar as I turn on to the road, and start making my way to the staging area indicated on my EAT-terminal. I suddenly remember I have to report to COPA. Cursing under my breath in Norwegian, I pick up the radio and hold down the send button:
“EDRC to COPA, en route to staging area.”

The traffic is fairly light, and it doesn't take me long to arrive at the fire station, where I find the coroners van already parked. I pull up behind it, and turn off the engine and lights, leaving the power on for the radio and EAT. I pick up the radio again.
“EDRC to COPA, at staging area with coroner, awaiting the all clear.”
I lean back in the seat and sigh. Now it's just a matter of waiting.

((I took some artistic freedom with the beeper giving me EAT calls, if that's not realistic or goes against the idea of the EAT just let me know and I'll edit.
Quick question(s): What ammo are you guys using for the UMPs, FMJ or hollow-point? Just wondering if I'm going to find through and through chest wounds, or just entry wounds. Also, what time of the day is it?))

((All of our ammunition is .45 caliber full-metal jacket rounds.))

**I hear heavy footfall on the third floor. They seem to be going into STAIR A.**

'Bridwell, what should we do? We don't want to shoot another one.'

((It's about 2 hours after the initial call out posted in the EAT topic for this call. As for the beeper, nope that's realistic. We give them to all medical personell. You'll be serving as a resident intern at the hospital under the level of junior doctor))

"Entry team, we recommend a non lethal cartridge to be loaded into your gun, and flashbangs."

**I hear the transmission from COPA, but the non-lethals are in the back of the RRT truck. In order to reach them, someone has to go back to get them.**

'Bridwell, I'll block the stairs. We need two 30-round magazines of non-lethal ammo.'

**I move the desk out of the office and in front of the door, which normally opens outward into the hall. This will probably delay the gunmen for about a minute while they go to STAIR B.**

*I've finished blocking of the perimeter with barrier tape with the help of some other officers that have arrived to assist by now.
The corner of Union Street and Austins Terrace, the corner of I-R Road and Austin Terrace, and the corner of I-R Road and Donovans Terrace is now blocked by barrier tape and police cruisers from ERT PD and Phoxlind PD. Officers are all over the place, awaiting the search to ble completed while securing the perimeter.
I stand by my cruiser close to the corner of Austin Terrace and Union Street, still keeping watch over my prisoner and chatting with a PPD officer while we monitor the radio.

((I know, I've read the other ones. Just a little slipup I'm sure. It's just that I probably have to pronounce the guy who was shot dead when I get there, and I'll need a time of death Besides, knowing the time you can add quite a bit of detail to your posts; traffic density, light conditions, temperature etc. Environmental descriptions and details add a new level to the story, and makes it easier for everyone to visualize and "be in the story". I pull my under cover cruiser over to where Halls is and help block off the area keeping a watch on my prisoner in the back. I walk up to Halls and tell Halls,
"my guy is the guy that the cocaine fairy wrapped cocaine around his leg"
We both laugh at it and talk with the PPD officer.

**Not a moment too soon, Bridwell returns with the non-lethals. As I switch magazines, the door to 'STAIR B' opens, and three armed men step out.**

'DROP the weapon!'

**I say this as I move laterally, so as not to get shot. When they don't comply, I fire a three-round burst of non-lethals their way. The rounds miss, but they're enough to scare the gunmen into surrendering. One rubber bullet bounces off of the wall and hits a suspect in the right elbow, forcing his weapon out of his hand. He looks like he's in some discomfort. I move up to secure them, then determine the extent of the one suspect's injuries.**

"COPA, the administration building is clear. There are now a total of four in custody. One was hit in the elbow with a rubber bullet and has moderate pain in his right arm. We'll move them outside for questioning. Would you like us to continue searching?"

"Do a quick check to make sure you have all suspects reported, and that the area is clear"

'Bridwell, we should search the upper floors before mobing on to the last warehouse. We also still need to impound the vehicles and do a sweep of the meeting location itself.'

'I called for a tow truck an hour ago. Where the h*ll are they? We're a FEDERAL AGENCY for God's sake. have some respect.'
