"Stabler, we have our own tow trucks. They just don't respond with a real sense of urgency, given that - unlike us - they're not really an emergency first responder, but just our own TEC team."

**I move upstairs. It seems empty, and a careful check of each room confirms this. Time to go to the third floor.**

T. Stabler wrote:'I called for a tow truck an hour ago. Where the h*ll are they? We're a FEDERAL AGENCY for God's sake. have some respect.'

'I heard they've been having some trouble with dispatch lately. A sherrif deputy I spoke with a week ago told me they ordered a tow truck to come get a DUI's vehicle over in Truelit, but it got sent to the wrong adress somehow and ended up on the other side of Phoxlind. The patrol had to wait two and a half hour for the truck to arrive and pick up the car, but the real kicker is that the driver of the towtruck was frikkin' furious about the mixup, so he spent the whole time while making the tow cursing out the dispatch!' I say, laughing, to Libor, Linda and Stabler who are gathered with me outside.

*Moving up to the third floor i say*
"Check every room well, we don't want to pass up a subject."

"ERT TEC tows have staged at the Fire station and will move in once the area has been deemed clear by the TAC OIC, but not before."

'All that needs to be searched is the last warehouse. This building is clear.'

*I tap the steering wheel impatiently, watching the dash board clock.
'If I knew I'd be here for this long, I'd bring a book.' I think to myself, and contemplate all the patients I could have treated in the time I've spent sitting here. With I sight I get the portable radio, and step outside the car. From my pocket I pull up a pack of cigarettes, take one from the pack and light it.

((Oh the irony, Kaizer.))

**I make my way over to the final warehouse. It is unlocked, but the door is shut. The lights are on; I turn them off.**

Voice: 'Oh, HELL!'
Me: 'STOP! I can see where you are! Put your hands up!'

**I really can't see where he is, but I have my flashlight out. I hold it by the front so only a little light escapes from my hand. I sling my UMP over my shoulder briefly to reach my radio.**

"Bridwell, the last warehouse has at least one. He's not running. I'm going to detain him."

((Hey, gotta have some vices. Pluss I've got good medical coverage, working at the hospital and all ))

"10-4 moving to your location, ill back you up on the arrest"

((Kaizer, the only thing more ironic than doctors who smoke are firefighters who smoke. ))

**With the suspect in handcuffs, I look around at the warehouse. One of the boxes seems to be black leather. I walk over to it; it's a briefcase.**

"Bridwell, looks like the suspect dropped a briefcase. How should we process it as evidence?"

'Be right back'
I walk to my car and grab some red man chew and grab a pinch and put it in on the side of my cheek. I walk back to where Libor, Halls, and Stabler are.
'Well my prisoner is getting impatient, hoping we can clear pretty soon. I've been on scene for almost twelve hours. I know I shouldn't chew but I need something to do to deal with stress.'

"Units, I'm sending over a transport truck from the federal prison to take anyone in custody back to the station, at least so you guys don't have to babysit for as long. ETA 3 minutes"

"Treat as hostile, open it, search and secure all evidence"

'We'll here is the transport truck I'm going to get my guy'
*I walk over to my vehicle and open the back door and wake my prisoner up*
"Rise and shine sleeping beauty your ride is here"
*I walk him over to the transport truck and the guys open it right up and grab him and take him in*
"Thanks guys I appreciate it"

"10-4 DC, Bucello got any gloves on you??"

"Bridwell, I have a pair of gloves."

**I open the briefcase with my gloves. There are stacks of $100 bills. I look under them; there's nothing underneath.**

"The briefcase is safe. There's a lot of money inside, but nothing dangerous."

"10-4 Bucello, lets secure the case in the RRT and proceed to the warehouse"

"Copy. I'll bring the prisoner with me as well."

'Alright, stand up.'

**I pick up the prisoner and the briefcase with my gloves.**

'Got a name?'

**Silence. I read his rights to him and he understands them.**

'What are you doing with a suitcase full of money? Gonna buy yourself something nice?'

**Silence.**

'You do understand we're gonna keep asking until we get an answer, right? If you don't, we'll prosecute you with what we have. You're still going to jail. So, are you going to tell us now and avoid any problems later?'

**He shakes his head. I walk him out the door and to the RRT.**

"Entry teams, are we all clear? Once you give the all clear, we're gonna move in the coroner and EMS to clear out the deceased victims"

"All buildings are clear. The deceased victim is in the first searched warehouse. No other casualties to report."

* I hear the all clear over the radio, and start the engine. Pulling out from the station, I turn the blue and yellow lights back on, and give the siren a couple of wails to halt traffic. In the mirror I see the coroner van pulling in behind me. The drive to the scene is short, and about a minute after starting, I pull up to the side walk and stop, turning off the engine and lights. As I exit the car, I grab the EMS jacket with the "Doctor" patch on the back from the passenger seat, and the portable radio. I also grab the trauma bag from the back seat, just in case.

* The outside temperature is low, close to freezing or below. Looking around I spot some ERT police officers, and walk up to them.

'Afternoon lads, I hear you have a body for me to check.'

'we most certainly do. I'll bring you there. its on the first floor.'
*I lead Dr. Kaizer to the body.*

* I follow officer Stabler to the body. Reaching it, I put on a pair of gloves and kneel beside it. Using the stethoscope hanging around my neck, I check for breath and heart sounds, finding none. Just as an extra precaution, I feel for a pulse as well.
'I think we can safely say this one has passed away. We've got chest, throat and head wounds, and I think...'
* I check the back of the victims head.
'Yeah, we've got grey matter, and some rigor too it feels like.'
* I look up at the coroner, who's standing by taking notes.
'I'm calling life extinct, time of death 14:51.'
* Standing back up, I sign of on the coroners sheet, and turn to Stabler again.
'If you guys want to search his pockets, you can go ahead now. These guys will take him away when you're ready. Would there be anything else? No injuries to look at?'

'I think the coroner's office catalogs his effects'
*I take a few pictures for evidence, and then help the coroner lift the man onto the gurney.*

'Yes, it does. It'll all be listed in their report.'
* I sigh, and remove the gloves. A shiver runs through me that can't be blamed on just the cold.
'If there's nothing else, I'll head back to the hospital. It was nice meeting you officer...' * I look at the name tag. 'Stabler.'

* I head back to the EDRC, and throw the trauma bag in the back. I get in as well, and start up the car.
"EDRC to COPA, scene clear, available for callout. Returning to hospital." I say over the radio as I pull away from the scene.

*I take out my keys and unlock my cruiser, then open the rear door. My detainee is still in there, bored. I tell him to get out of the car, he complies. I take him by the arm, close the door again, and walk him over to the prison transport van.
With the assistance of the prison deputys driving the van I put him in the back, remove my cuffs and have them replaced with one of the deputy's.
I say goodbye and walk back to my cruiser where the other guys are gathered still.*

**I take off my helmet and watch the coroner's van drive away, and I feel a profound sense of guilt that I know I will always have for the rest of my life. I'm frightened by the thought that he may not be the only person, given how dangerous this job is. I'll need time to sort out my thoughts. Down the street, I see other vans setting up lights and transmission antennaes.**

"What do we do about the reporters?"

"Let them report, I've got someone in a staff car over to do a press statement"

"Understood. RRT will clear out."

**I ask Bridwell to drive; I can't concentrate right now. I get into the passenger seat, deep in thought. I'll probably take it upon myself to find out more about the only fatality at this mission. The guilt is going to take a while to wear off.**

*I turn the keys in the ignition and start to drive*

I walk back to where the guys are and ask libor:
'Hey Libor since RRT cleared are we clear to do the same to?'

'You guys can clear, I'll hang around a bit until people clear out.'

"dc can you send me info for all people arrested, injured, or killed in call for report.

'alright I will go ahead and clear'
I walk over to my car turn off the lights and put it in drive
"UMC-1 is clear of seen returning to patrol"

((OOC note: This is a preliminary report. My character (Dr. Kaizer) did not take part in it, I'm just doing it since we don't have a medical examiner on our team yet.))

'Allright, I'll be off to the station then. Got some reports to write... See you guys around.'

*I nod to the guys as I unlock and get into my cruiser. I put the key in the ignition and crank the engine, it roars to life and I put the gear in drive. As I roll off towards HQ I grab the radio mic from the console bracket it's sitting in, and announce:

"COPA, PC-7 returning to HQ, unavailable until further notice."

*I hook the mic back on the console and continue the drive towards HQ. It's getting colder outside, time to put on the cruisers winter tires...*
