Traditions Museum Fire Alarm Active

*Checking my EAT screen before leaving COPA, I see a new notification, and I sign in, taking command, of it, making myself primary contact. Reading the information, I quickly type a dispatch, as well as send out the station alarm to station 1*

*I log the data, and then unplug my miniEAT unit and take it with me to my office, as I connect my headset wirelessly to this device, as opposed to my command centre.*

*I wake up to the sound of thunder in a sweat and breathing heavily, I lay back down and the station gongs sound. I spring up out of my bed and run to the pole. I slide down into the garage and hit the door opener as I run to my gear. I pull on my pants and sling on my jacket and grab my helmet as I walk to the truck. I hop into the back and wait for everyone to finish piling in.

*I pull up on scene and put on my SCBA then my helmet and pull out a hydrant wrench*
"SEV to Station 1 units, There is moderate smoke coming from the basement window"

*I hear the tones drop and jump off of the couch and run to the pole. I run to the truck and put on my pants and coat, then turn the power on the truck and crank it up. I hop into the drivers seat close my door and buckle up. I pick up the radio.*
"L-1 will be responding momentairily."
*I reach up and hit the emergency master switch and the leds come on ready to go.*

* i jump into the drivers seat after putting my bunkers on and throw the rest of my gear in between floan and i*
* i start up the truck and flip the lights on leaving the truck in park and roll down my window and yell into the bays*
' c mon!!! lets go!!!! hurry up!!!!'
* everyone climbs in and i take the truck out of park*
' alright floan put us en route'
* i pull out of the bays and see the ladder and RA and squad still in the station*
' well guys, looks like we may be the first water in'
* i pull out of the complex*

*I run out and put on my turnout gear and jump in before Tim takes off.*

'Shake and bake boys, looks like we got a BBQ'

*I start putting my SCBA on.*

' its sounding like it john'
* i flip my windshiled wipers on*
' heck, with this rain we could vent the roof and let the rain put it out haha'

'We got a gameplan yet Lt?'

*I adjust the straps on my facepiece.*

*I I watch out my window as we drive out of the complex and through the gate. I hear the Q wind up as we pull out and I can't hide the smile on my face as the engine roars as we accelerate through trafic. The rain pounds the truck and makes the lights reflect off the puddels in the afternoon sun. car pull over as they hear us coming down the road and we return the favor with a blast of the air horn. I start putting on my SCBA pack putting my arms through the straps and buckeling my pack in.

'Alright Lt. whats the gameplan? L-1 should handle getting the crap out of dangers way, that frees us up to do suppression. Do you want us going in back or through the staff room?'

' floan: were getting close, where do you want us to pull in from?'
* i continue to drive blaring the q the whole way there*

' Well Gameplan is this, Colwell grab a Pike and take out as many basement windows as you can, Tim grab an 1 1/2" line and take a window for exterior attack, Jack, you and I will be taking a high rise pack and going inside for a quick sweep for victims. John, when you are done with the exterior windows, report to Matthews who will assume Exterior Pump-11 Command. Tim pull up right in front of the Museum right over there. '

* I point out where I want the Engine and then proceed to put my turnout coat on. *

" COPA, you can show Pump-11 On Scene Assuming command until Squad 1 LFO arrives, We have as SEV Reported Moderate smoke coming from basement area Pump-11 is Establishing Museum command at this time. "

*As we pull up on scene I can see a crowd of people standing outside a building that has smoke billowing out of the front door. When we come to a stop I qickly lean forward to pull my pack out of the clamps and open the door to jump out. I stepout and pull on my mask and suck in to get a good seal before poping the vent. I walk around back of the truck and grab a High rise pack and sling it over my shoulder.

'Hey Lt. you want me to grab my ALS bag?'

*I tighten my straps and make sure my PASS is working before exiting the truck. I jump off*
'What about me, lt.?
*I say, as the Q winds down*

*I hear the tones drop and run to the bay. I put on my pants, throw my helmet on the dash, put my coat on the seat, and climb into the truck. Then I put on the headset, start the squad, and put it in drive. I turn on the lights and wait for everyone to get in. Then I pull out of the station and pull on to the highway as I blast the airhorns and turn on the wail. I press the Q pedal with my foot as I begin driving.*

"Squad 1 responding, Code 3."

*I put on the windshield wipers due to the pouring rain.*

(Okay so im responding by my self.)
"Ladder 1 responding."
*I hit the windshield wipers and pull out of the station and on to the road. I drive towards the scene and come around the corner and see the engine and the sev. I pull around the back.*
"Ladder 1 onscene, whay are your orders, staging side charlie."

*I see the Pumper pull up and see a hydrant 50 feet away*
"Pump-11 this is SEV, I'm hooking you up to a hydrant"
*I grab the wrech and run over and take the cap off of the hydrant then run back to the pumper as I put down y shield do to the rain. I grab some hose hen walk back and hook it up to the hydrant then turn it on*
"Ok, you're hooked up BREAK L-1 you want me to hook you up too?"

"It cant hurt, you never know we might want to flow from both trucks at some point."
*I go to the back of the truck and set up the outrigers and plates incase we decide to use the ladder for anything.*
"Ladder 1 to command any orders for us?"

'Got it Lt.'

*I jump off the truck and grab a 3 ft pike pole.*

*I'll help you Tim pull the line incase some fire wants to jump out at me.'

*i get off the truck and go around back and roll up the door and pull out a 6 foot NY hook and grab a halligan bar and grab the water can and head around to jess to see what she wants me to do.*
'what now?'
*i stand there moving around enjoying the feel of turn outs again*

*I walk over to Bruce.*
'Hey Bruce, glad to see that you are back, you really dodged a bullet with that one.'

As we arrive on scene I tighten my SCBA straps and get out of the truck with my irons.
'What are your orders Raven?' I say as the rain comes down on us.

"10-4"
*I take another hose and run it from the pumper to the Ladder an then hook it up and make sure it's tight*
"Ok Ladder-1, you have water"

*I grab an ax and put it on my belt*
'Floan, i'll follow you in with an 1 1/2 as a backup line, I guess...
*masks up*
(BTW floan, you did not give me an asignment, if you want me to do somthing different, thats fine.)

*i turn to jack*
'yeah i dodged a nasty one. but it feels good to be back haha, now lets go fight some fire'

' Casey grab a 2" Line and follow Jack and I in the building, Jack yes definatly grab that ALS bag just in case, Im gonna grab a Halligan and my Axe belt. Tim uok out here with John?. '

" Pump-11 Command to Ladder 1 We are gearing up to go inside for internal suppression, we can back you guys up inside as well should you need it. BREAK Pump-11 to Squad 1 LFO you copy all traffic so far? "

* I walk over to the back of the Engine and get my Axe, strap it to my belt and head over to my door to get my SCBA. I throw it on, tighten the straps and make certain i have good airflow to the mask. *

' Alright Jack, Casey whenever u guys are ready lets hit it. '

*i run over to floan*
'Yeah ill go with yall'

" Pump-11 Command to SEV-1 copy your traffic and thx for the hook-up, How do you feel about a little internal operation? if your game then Jack, Casey and Myself at the front door. "

* I walk over to the front door and see through the glass that the smoke has entered the upper levels but doesnt look too thick at this point. there are several artifacts that are in its path though. *

" Pump-11 Command to Pump-11 Matthews, when you guys get a chance, We may want to consider putting a blower at the front door and 1 at the entrance to the basement to try and curb that smoke away from the exhibits inside. Again though when u get a chance. "

* I see Bruce come over to us and welcome him to our party. *

' Well well well there he is back from the dead, dont worry bruce there arent any cars or poles in here so you should be safe enough hahah Just Kidding, how r u feeling? '

* I watch as the rest of my crew starts to mobilize and begin to rally to their necessary positions. *

"Ladder 1 to command, moving to vent the roof."
*I climb onto the turn table and start moving the ladder to the roof.*

"I'm game for it Pumper-11 Command. Where do you want me?"
*I check the airflow i my mask*

'Gottcha Floan'

*I go to my door and grab my ALS bag from under the seat. I take it and sling it over my shoulder then walk up to floan and everyone else.

'I'm ready when your all ready.'

*I shift my high rise pack to try and make it more confortable.

*I take the pike pole and break out all of the basement windows.*

"P-11 Colwell to all units, basement ventilation has been completed."

*I walk back to the truck to get the vent fan Floan wanted.*

* i pull up to the front and put the pump in gear and begin to charge the lines and then grab a 1 1/2" line and take a knee near the window to the basement*
" 10-4 on the fan floan, lets not try to make too much damage inside here"
" colwell, when you take the fan grab a power cord from the reel and take it back with you, im hopeing we will have enough line on there or else we may need another truck to sit back there for power"

(wow. Miss one day and everything goes crazy xD. Also, Colwell, You watch Backdraft too much )
*I look over at the building then look to see Jack positioning the ladder to vent the roof*
'Bruce gather up some tools get ready to go in.'
"Squad 1 LFO from Ladder 1 Command where do you want us"

*I get the ladder in position and grab an axe and 3ft pike pole and climb to the top of the roof. I get to the top and check to make sure it is still sound. I then move over to the center where there is a big glass dome.*
"Ladder 1 Lueckenbach to all units, be advised ventilating roof, broken glass will be present inside the main floor of the structure."
*I take my pike pole and hit the center of the dome and break the glass and watch as it falls down to the ground below and shatters into tiny little pieces. I then take the pole and run it around the edge of the hole to make sure it is all gone.*
"Ladder 1 to command roof ventilation is complete."

(Jessica, I was wondering how long it would take before someone caught on lol.)

"Gotcha Tim."

*I set one fan at the entrance and grab the other vent fan and a power cord. I mask up at the door and take the the second fan to the basement door and exit the building.*

"P-11 Colwell to P-11 Floan. Both fans are set-up in position."

*I mask up and walk with Floan and the others down to the basement. I desecnd the stairs very carefully and breath as steady as I can. At the bottom of the stairs there is a landing I think it is the floor and stumble missing the last stair. I recover and turn on my helmet and chest light.

'Dammit, watch the last step!'

*I look around. There are alot of boxes cluttering the halway but I don't yet see any flames. The basemet is full of smoke so I can't see very far infront of me.

*i hear jess.*
'im ready'
*i turn to floan*
'haha thanks and yeah i feel much better to be back'
(Jack WTF are you doing dont vent the roof on a basement fire are you trying to burn the museum down. last i checked you vented the roof where the fire was other wise itll draw the fire to that location)

*I climb down the ladder and go over to wait with the rest of the ladder crew.*
(I vented the roof because of all of the smoke in the building with the engine about to attack the fire and all of the basement windows already broken the 1 roof skylight that i broke is going to have a negligable effect on the fire)

*Once corey gets in, and starts the ambulance. I turn on the lights and siren and he begins driving.
--15 minutes or so later.--
*I turn off the siren and pick up the radio.
"RA-1 On Scene."

" exterior command to interior command floan, RA is on scene, would we like them to set up for RIT? BREAK exterior command to anders, would you like to preform hydralic ventilation in the basement, i cant tell how close the artifacts are to the windows"
* i remain on my knee observing whats going on*

"COPA to scene command, what's the current status of the museum?"

((Where's Raven?))

"Squad 1 onscene."

*I take off the headset and hang it up. Then I put on my gear and helmet. I turn off some of the lights, put on some floods, and exit the truck. I close the door since it's raining and head to the back. Then I get out an SCBA tank, put on all my SCBA gear, and grab some irons.*

'OK, are we starting the search with the pumper crew? Ladder's already venting.'

" COPA, Pump-11 We are about to make entry now, Basement has heavy smoke coming from all windows and smoke is making its way to the main level now. BREAK Pump-11 Command to Ladder 1 DO NOT VENT ROOM ANY FURTHER. that will only allow for Additional smoke to fill an unaffected area, please report to your commander for additional tasks. BREAK Pump-11 Command to Pump-11 Exterior Command Matthews, continue your attack We will be inside momentairly. "

' Alright bruce lets do it, Jack Casey, only hit what needs to be Hit NOTHING ELSE we dont want to damage any more artifacts than necessary. '

* I open the door and take a knee to observe the main entrance, Once i see its clear i give the sign to enter the structure and my team goes in followed by Ladder 1 Beard. *

" Pump-11 Command to Squad 1 Why dont you guys grab a couple 2" lines and follow us on in, if we can hit this agressivly then we can save more artifacts. BREAK Pump-11 interior to Pump-11 Exterior Copy that we definatly need a RIT on this one to be safe, make certain you and Colwell are available if needed as well."

* I put my mike back and start looking around, I still dont have my mask on yet as there is only moderate smoke but the gaping hole in the ceiling provided by some of the Ladder crew is now forcing the smoke through the main lobby and into the roof area causing some of the museum exhibits to get affected, we start walking through the lobby and see the door where leading to the basement, i motion for the team to head over in that direction. *

' Damn we sure could use some blowers in here to get this smoke out the door rather than the ceiling. '

" copy interior command BREAK " exterior command to RA, set up for RIT for now, colwell and myself can be used if needed"
* i drop my line for a second and walk back to colwell and observe whats happening*

"Botfish to interitor command, where you want me?"

'Bruce grab some tools were going searching'
*I grab the TIC and a pickhead axe and wait for Bruce*
"Pumper 11 Command from Ladder 1 command were gonna start searching for this fire"

*I get out of the ambulance and begin setting up a RIT (dunno how to do this so Ill just do this)

'ive got my tools, lets go'
*i head inside with Jess*
