also you don't really need to eat every day though it's nice because it keeps your health up if you absolutly have no money you can eat every 2 days until you can get a better job....also you can message me on there so we don't take over this thread haha

Heard so many sirens yesterday. Quint, ambulances, everything! Even my teacher got up and looked out the window. It was so cool. But today, there were like 3 ambulances that drove past our school and my friends are like, "Look out guys! It's the cops!"

Yeah. Around here my fire department uses the good old Q and air horns. EMS and vollies are hard to tell apart though. And Then theres the cops wich have a diff. sound than anything else.

I love that only a few people can tell what truck/appratus/agency it is just be listening to the siren haha

Well I got a call from the Southwest EMS supervisor in the county next to me. He wants to meet with me tomrrow, and apparently the medic I might be working with might sit in as well. So hopefully I get the job.

I can tell the difference. The only exceptions are the quint's wail and stuff sound like the ambo's, and the cops sound like the paramedic car (they both have Whelens). Other than that, the Q's and airhorns distinguish it all. The ambos have these loud low horns while the quint's are more high-pitched.

Whole new company. I will work 48 on 48 off, then 72 on 48 off. Then the next week I would work 48 on 72 off.

eek 48 hour shifts gotta be rough we work 8s here...then again most people around here have a second job or atleast work at another EMS service

The fun one is the 72 hour shift. haha, on the other hand they only average one or two calls a day.

yeah 72 hr shift seems a bit extreme for an emergency services personnel but if your not getting a lot of calls it's not to bad it's just like being at home haha if you got a lot of calls i'd be worried idk if i want my medic coming to me fatigued from 50 calls in the last 72 hrs haha

Yeah, I agree. The county I work in only has 10,000ish people in it. So we only have one truck. So only four people work out of our station.

I'm in pilot training, and online I found this article about something like the "Gay Pilots Association". So I posted a comment saying "Can I make a straight Pilots Association, or would that be politically incorrect?". I got two people that agreed with me, and another that said "I found it really disappointing and disrespectful that you our treating this all as a joke." and blah blah blah.... . And the next day, my comment was removed.

I've got nothing against gays, but come on, a "Gay Pilot's association"? Whether you're gay or not, you're a pilot. There is no difference. Your sexuality should not be and is not a factor in flying or anything.

Yup, I like how the cop did something about it, but didn't stop them. Usually cops either ticket them, or they just pass them, leaving the drivers to dive alongside the slow car and yell

lol I only did that once. It was (nobody take offense to this) A chinese woman in a 90s Pennsylvania mini van. (lol If you are from Jersey you'd understand our hatred towards bad Pennsylvania drivers on our highways. It's not the people we don't like, it's the bad drivers form there we don't like)

That's probably right. It probably is mostly Philly drivers. Flyers fans are a-holes, (worse than most Rangers fans), so I have one more reason to hate Philly people. The city is cool, always makes for a fun trip, but I hate those people.

If you haven't figured it out by now, I generally hate people, lol. If I don't know them, I don't have a reason to like them. I know it makes me sound like an a-hole, but people kinda have to prove themselves for me to like them. (Don't worry, you guys are all fine, I know you guys enough, lol)

lol exactly, like there is this one girl that thinks everybody likes her (She's one of those people that fit the stereotype of how the rest of the world looks out new jersey). I was sitting next to her in a health class and I got out my homework, and she was like "Let me see your homework I didn't do it." I turned to her, and was just like "No. I don't like you.". Her face was just like a deer in headlights, eyes wide open, I'm a fairly quiet kid so she clearly didn't expect that to come out of my mouth.

I later that day called her a bitch.... lol

I've been taking a lot of calls on EMS-1, I'm going to wait and see if somebody on EMS-4 wants to take it, I'm not sure if they have been out on any calls yet.

Yeah, just to mention, anyone who thinks that they should have MORE or LESS calls, let me know, and I'll make note of it myself, as well as let Kelly know for future dispatching. I don't want to forget anyone, and when I'm running a call with Light Force and another one with the Rescue, then I've got a third call winding down for police, there tends to be some confusion, and I end up forgetting people such as the squad. Which is going to get a call either later today, or tomorrow

*It's not that EMS has too many calls, the amount of calls we get is fine, I just tend to jump on a lot of them, so I'm going to see if CJ on EMS-4 wants to take it, I sent a message, if I don't get a reply or if CJ isn't online by today or tomorrow to respond I'll just take it

well it was said before the sev position was made that it would get significantly less calls
