Honor the victims and never forget this tragedy. May it never happen again.
Found this video; doesn't seem to be a bad tribute.
Everyone remember where you were when it happened?

Re: 9/11 Memorial Topic
I was in school, and every 5 minutes someone from the office would call a classroom to tell a kid that their parents would pick them up early. We thought it was funny, until I found out on the news the next day that there was a terrorist attack. My dad was at a conference in Arlington and heard the explosion of American Airlines 77.

I was on school, and when I came back home my parent's were watching TV, I joined, not aware of what was happening. I didn't really know what to do with it at that moment.

Re: 9/11 Memorial Topic
I was there when it happened. My mom and I were in New York for about to try and get her a job when it happened. At the time I was on Worth street, about ten blocks away, and when I saw it, I just stood slack jawed at the sky, and my mom burried her face in my side. It is the worst experiance I've ever witnessed ever.
Never forget.
Never forget.

Wow, I just watched something on it, it showed people jumping from the building, I'd hate to have been there.

Re: 9/11 Memorial Topic
Just watched a timeline show about the events on 9/11 on Fox News with my father. It's hard to see it all again, especially hard for my father because he was in the city on 9/11/01. He arrived at the World Trade Center PATH Station just minutes after the first plane hit.

Re: 9/11 Memorial Topic
That story was very sad. What's really sad is that 9/11 movie that was made. It was so sad at the end. BTW, as far as I remember, the Trade Centers didn't have sprinkler systems. Those could've changed the entire outcome. They could've been still standing.

Re: 9/11 Memorial Topic
I sadly don't think that would've helped too much. It would have stood a lot longer but superheated jet fuel that's thousands of degrees would still break down the metal. I wish it would've had super sprinklers so this wouldn't happen.C. Davis wrote:That story was very sad. What's really sad is that 9/11 movie that was made. It was so sad at the end. I'm going into New York City tonight to see the light beams. I'll share the pictures with you guys. If you have never seen them before, they are so cool, If you're in the area, I'd highly recommend seeing them.

Re: 9/11 Memorial Topic
The hardest video for me to watch is an about 2:30 minute video of 19 Firefighters from FDNY squad 288 Queens arriving. In the backround you see the rigs, and the firefighters walkinkg straight towards the camera. As they grow closer you see each one of there faces, then they walk past the camera. It pans out and you see all of them walking as a group towards the trade center. All 19 firefighters died sadly, each time I see it, I dont want the frame to stay focused on there faces and not end.

Re: 9/11 Memorial Topic
Does anybody know if it's possible to share a video on Facebook without people seeing my Facebook account? I've got a nice video from last night of 10 House going on a job, but I only uploaded to Facebook, and I'd rather not share my Facebook with people I don't know.
By the way, I also went to see the light beams, they are so cool. I can't even compare them to anything I've seen before. They go up so high, I could still see them hitting the clouds from my hometown in New Jersey. I'll get some pictures to you guys later. Here's a fact if you didn't already know this: The light beams aren't actually at World Trade Center, they are 4 or 5 blocks away, on top of a parking garage by the Battery Tunnel.

May Freedom Tower stand tall when it is completed. Let us hope this horrible event shall never happen again. History does repeat itself, but not of this severity.

Re: 9/11 Memorial Topic
All of you here have heard about the Heros killed in the attacks but im guessing most of you don't know that those numbers aren't accurate. To this day there are Hundreds of Firefighters, EMS personnel and police officers who are still sick to this day or dying a result of climbing through the rubble for months after 9/11 looking for survivors and assisting the recovery of bodies. So when every you think about the 343, 24 or 37 Think about the others that have passed away as a result of attacks, Think about the people that lost a Father, Son, Daughter, Mother, Brother or Sister. When you really think about it the 343/24/37 really are sadly just the beginning.

Re: 9/11 Memorial Topic
That's the thing, I remember watching an interview with a doctor on CNN a week after 911 and he was talking about the asbestos in the air, and how simple it is to get cancer from one particle of that. It hooks in like a fishhook and grows. Sadly no one noticed that it seems, and the thousands of citizens as well as rescue workers are still dying today because no one picked up on it, and they have to fight to get medical help for it.

I can see both sides of this on one side it's stupid they had to jump through any hoops at all however on the other side...well okay I only see one side it's sorta stupid especially considering any first responder had a back ground check before they joined a department anyway...
