Drugs and accident

**I just standby and watch as the fire spreads further into the vegetation, and the guys can't get the engine compartment out, which is having flames showing from all parts of it now.**

"What are you gonna do with that extinguisher? Hit Hannahan on the head?"

**I look at the tank fill light, and it's 3/4 empty**

*I start rolling some hose off the truck.*

(let's take it easy, it dosent take much to put out a car fire.)

(Plus, I opened the glove compartment but didn't need to take it out. And the vegetation is safe buuuutt...whatever)
"Time to get the engine. Davis you get the drugs. Let's get this out once and for all."
(I'm gonna start ride alongs with the most advanced station in the county so i'll be doing everything they tell me. All in all, i'm gonna be better here)

(it's not about who has the best stuff. All departments have the same or very similar training. Bragging about stuff like that doesn't go over well with anyone. And it's a joke about the fire extinguisher )

I get a supply line and hook it to the hydrant, after that I hook it to the pump.

*I stretch a line from the pump and start putting foam on the cab.*

"The cab is almost out. After this I'll try to cut down the surrounding vegetation so it doesn't catch fire."

PD OSC, requesting a scene report* when cleared to be sent through EAT.

Lt. Garcia, what's the situation at the scene?

*A scene report basically sums up who was arrested, what happened, who participated and any problems you saw be it god modding, IC, OOCprocedures or event hings with COPA. This will be essential in the COPA report

"COPA am I cleared from the scene"

*A small crowd of bystanders are starting to gather on the opposite side of the road, watching the FD struggling to keep down the brushfire ((;P)). I grab my radio*

"PC-6, this is PC-7. I'm still standing by on scene, we have a crowd gathering on the opposite side of the road here taking pictures and having a look. No immediate threat, but be advised."

"All of the fires are almost out for the time being. Garcia, should we start packing up?"

"Lt. the scene is being cleared, request further instructions. Are we needed for assisstance at the crash site?" I say into the radio as I see police packing up

(Andy, remember, this is like predawn emergency.. Can't be a large crowd considering the time of day, and also the location.. Anywho, just watch that next time )

((Hey Burke, about the small fire calls, I guess your right. There's a lot to get done with fire stuff and I think that all of us still need some more training.))

*I keep packing up the equipment, take off my coat, and turn off most of the lights.*

(he means every call you guys go on dosent have to go beyond what you were called out for and become a huge call that takes up the whole topic when other units need to use it too.)

"Libor, the lab is dismantled and the suspects that were detained are in vehicles awaiting transport. The scene is secured, and we'll be ready to leave within a few minutes of telling us so."

((yes i do mean that. I understand you want to shine, but not every fire has to be huge. There will be small ones in the future, stuff in our jurisdiction mainly, or the occassional mutual aide, but nothing big for a while))

"Negative. Fire's flared up. You guys failed to contain it. No hose lays or anything was done to contain it. You better get on brush gear and start a wild land hose lay before the wind picks up."

((You guys are doing absolutely horrible. It was a small fire, but on behalf of fire behavior, running out in structure gear to fight a wild land fire that's going up a hill without a hose lay is probably the dumbest thing I've ever heard, so this fire's gonna keep going until you get it out the right way.))

Osc police, all pd units are clear to leave, I'll remain on scene do the report. *begins report*

(It's simple. All I want them to do is just say they go up onto the hill and put it out instead of just saying "It's out.")

I turn my attention to the TV monitors for each fire unit on scene, control the cameras towards the fire, and see three or four black figures wandering up the hills armed with hoses to contain the fire. Guess the lt's words put them in motion

((Whoops, just realized I never posted I was at the hospital.))

*I bring the stretcher out of one of the ER rooms after putting the patient on the bed. I change the sheets and bring it back out to the ambulance when i realized I never called arriving at the hospital. I put the stretcher in, shut the doors then step into the cab. I turn on the battery and pick up the radio.*

"BLS-1 to COPA, mark us as arrived at hospital and clear of hospital. Forgot to call you when we arrived. Any more EMS assistance required at either of incidents?"

That's a negative from us, all looks good form here, unless Garcia wants you to stop by on stand by

"You can come by on stand by if you want."

"10-4 Garcia. We'll head over to the fire standby."

*I take the clipboard, write down starting mileage, then turn on the lights and head to the accident*


*I pull up to the accident, and park in front of the crash. I step out, open the backdoors and put the jump bag and an O2 tank on the stretcher, and take a seat on the edge of the floor and watch the fire. I keep monitoring the fire command channel*

Pd report:
-4 suspect arrested, unknown i.d.
-1 suspect shot, transported by Ems
-There was some god modding, but nothing that wasn't nessecary to keep the call from dying.
-Everyone followed pd orders.
-Went very well with new officers.
-Scene was secured.
-Tac will be collecting evidence from ems.
-noticed lack of detail, we need to make sure we get names, dob, etc. After arresting suspect. We also need to be more detailed, rather than just saying : get on the ground(suspect complies). Say: get on the ground. Don't move, you are suspected armed and will be shot etc. Just more detail with what we are doing.

Pc 6 is clearing, enroute to dc office.

*I hear Libor clearing PD from the scene, and walk back to my patrol car. I click the unlock button on the keyfob and get in, put the keys in the ignition and crank the engine. I put it in drive and turn the wheel, pulling away from the scene and head towards HQ. I grab the radio mic and speak*

"COPA this is PC-7, I'm cleared, heading to HQ for meal break."

**I drive back to ERT HQ. I go over to the hospital and make sure the evidence (the vest) is collected and sealed. Then I go back to Police HQ.**

"RRT will be available for callout."

((I know, we're doing really bad. Sorry.))

*I pick up a hose, attach it to the squad, and start running up hill to estinguish the fire.*

"Now we got it. I'll keep an eye out for the trees ahead in case the fire spreads more."

"ladder 1 to Lt. Garcia, do you request our assistance over there?"

(I'm done from my slump. Let's finish this.)
*I get on Wildland fire gear and grab a shovel and a crosslay (that's already charged of course and yes the supply is hooked to the hydrant).I also grab a gated wye and a high rise with a nozzle. (A little improvising with the high rise and wye and it IS possible, but very hard, to bring all this equipment with you.)I go a little ahead of the flames and trees up the hill and start diggin a fire line. I attach the gated wye to my crosslay and use the high rise as an extra one(crosslay. Also, the wye is taking up MY crosslay so I use the high rise to make it another crosslay so to speak). I soak the fire line and start to spray the burning trees taking into account which way the wind is moving.
"The wind is heading south now Lt. It's not going to spread too far now sir."

I get in the ambulance, shut off the light board.
"ALS 1 on standby"

Alright, good work. ((Next time, for future calls, there's no hydrants on a bridge/freeway. lol. also we carry 1 1/2" wajax, which is wild land hose and saves you some weight as well as it's 300' packs. Just a heads up))

"Guys,be careful of falling trees. Alright Lt. I got two trees out so far and there are about 5 left burning. There is no wind picking up right now so I think we should be good from spot fires for the moment."
*I bend down and focus on getting the trunk of trees and working my way up.*

"yes sir, are we clear to return?"
((i know we are a truck company but i didnt know if you'd need us for man power))

"Good job, Hannahan. All the trees are out by me, so I'll come and help you."

*I pull my line over by Hannahan and start hitting the trees with water.*

*A spot fire puts a tree ablaze 4 yards over*
"Hey Davis, that tree is on fire. Can you knock it down for me. This tree will be out soon. Thanks though."

"Yeah, sure!"

*I aim my line at the other tree and extinguish it.*

"All right, we got two trees left.You take left, I'll do right."
*I get the next tree and start spraying it.*

"Right on!"

*I start spraying the other tree.*
