Re: Landfill Accident
Copy that PC-6. Be advised landfill gates have been closed to all public access. TVFD is attempting to secure the tractor and clear a route from the road to the tractor. The landfill crew is getting another tractor ready now to intercept our ambulance staff to bring them safely to the disabled tractor operator. He looks to be in no immediate pain, however is beleived to have disloacted is right shoulder and has a gash on his right arm. Scene medics are there providing first aid.

Re: Landfill Accident
BLS-1 Arriving.
*I drive thru the gate and it closes behind the rig* I see a tractor with a guy leaning outside the window waving at me, so I roll down the window*
"It's about half mile down the road, follow me down and I'll clear a path on the way!" He yells.
"Sounds good!" I yell back over the engine noise.
*I follow him for about a minute, and pull up next to the volunteer engine and rescue truck.*
*I get out and grab a clip board and jump bag*
"Hey Putter, I have the jump bag and clipboard, can you grab the stretcher and oxygen?"

Re: Landfill Accident
"Alright, I need one of you to get me a few unopened water bottles so we can clean this out." I say to one of the volunteers.
"Sir, do you remember what happened here?"
"Pretty much. I was driving my tractor up the road here to return it to the garage, and it was my fault because I wasn't paying attention, but one of the wheels got caught on a pile, so one side started going up, the other was still on the road and it fell over, I climbed out side that facing upwards."
"You feeling any pain to your neck, back or head?"
"No."
"That's good." I say as I begin to check his vitals.
*The firefighter comes back with water*
"Alright, I'm going to pour these over your gash, just to get dirt out of it."
*I slowly run the water over the wound*
"Putter, I have another water bottle here, can you keep running the water over it? I need to get some of that SWAT fly repellent and wound ointment from the ambulance."

Re: Landfill Accident
*I step out of the ambulance with the can and see a police car pulling up*
"Hey Libor, Got an overturned tractor, one one person reporting injuries. Showing signs of a dislocated shoulder and he's got a gash in his arm. I have putter over there pouring water over it to get most of the dirt out. I got this can of SWAT combined insect repellent and wound ointment. We're just going to apply this ointment, bandage it up and transport. Before you leave would you want to take a quick ALS evaluation?"
*Once Putter is done pouring the water, I apply a few layers of SWAT*

Re: Landfill Accident
*I finish applying the SWAT*
"Putter, I'm going to begin filling out the call sheet, I want you to put the the bandages over the wound and put a splint on the dislocated arm. Then once you are ready I'll assist you with the stretcher, and I'll let Libor do an ALS evaluation in the back of the BLS."

Re: Landfill Accident
BLS-1 requesting status of victim, and will you need a trauma team or just a single doctor and nurse?

Re: Landfill Accident
"BLS-1 to COPA. Negative on the trauma team. Just a doctor and nurse will be fine. Mental status is normal, vitals are in normal ranges for his injuries, Reports no pain in head, back or neck. The gash is not very deep, if I had to guess its about half an inch, not very large below his elbow. We're getting ready to transport, I'll have to check with Libor if we would like to do an ALS evaluation. ETA to the base is 5-10 minutes. All the personal information will be sent over the EAT."
(On radio)
"BLS-1 to Libor, what's your pleasure on evaluating this patient?"
I walk over to putter, I drop the stretcher to the ground.
"Alight sir, can you stand up yourself?"
*I grab his other shoulder and help him up*
"Yeah, I'm good." He says
"Okay, let's take a seat on the stretcher here."
*He lays down and Me and Putter buckle the straps. We roll the stretcher over to the BLS ambulance. Once the front wheels are inside, I lift up and hold the other end while putter brings the wheels up, and I push the stretcher in, and lock it.*
"Putter, do you want to stay in the back with the patient until we get a response from Libor, and I'll get up in the cab and start putting all the info into the EAT?"

"BLS-1 to COPA, we are en route to base, BLS only."
*Pull into the emergency room entrance. As I come to a stop a see the nurse and Jr. doctor walking out the door. Putter and I get teh patient out, we handover final information to the hospital.*
"BLS-1 to COPA, patient in hospital care. For the final time, the 2003 van-bulance BLS-1 is out of service. Would you like me to park it somewhere in particular?"

Re: Landfill Accident
Park it over at the TEC Parking lot, they'll tow that to the Depot off complex and we'll take care of it. Your new unit is in the bay fully stocked, don't worry about cleaning this one, it'll be cleaned and put in the museum later
IN CALL SUMMARY (No Report required)
Call was good, no major problems!

Received. Advise TEC that the keys will be under the driver's seat.
*I park out in the TEC lot. Look around the cab to make sure I didn't leave any personal items, place the keys under the drivers seat, unlock the door, and walk to the bay to check out new BLS-1*
