School Explosion

"Hannahan! Help me get this burn vic out"

"Alright. How do you want to bring him out? What part do you want me to take."

"Alright, I found the science room. I've found the showers, too. Anyone that needs decon just come in here. Jensen, deploy the med tent from the truck. We could start burn treatment there."

Me and Jansen bring the vic into the triage area and softly put him down.
"Alright, lets go back up."

I get a victim on the stercher and bring him to triage.

*I go outside and unroll the tent from the squad.*

"You can treat victems here if you need to guys."

*I get to the room and help with decon.*
"I'm here to help you guys. Whatever you need, tell me."

*I run outside to start assisting with the treatment.*

"Geez, these guys have bad burns! Don't worry guys, the Paramedics and I are gonna get you all fixed up!"

We help another person to the Decon shower and I take him down after he's all clean.
"Alright, you're gonna be alright".

"What should I do Lieutenant?"

I run back to the room.
"I'm back."

((We don't have tents here, we have triage bags, which consist of color coded tarps. Easy to clean. Black-Dead Red-Critical Yellow-Moderate Green-Minor to none))

"Can we get some extra meds? We're going to need more Morphine. Also, Burke, We're going to need a clearance to push more morphine than the usual 10 on these patients."

**I pull out some burn dressings, wash the skin with some saline, then stick the dressings. Also I start I.V's on a few patients with the few bags I have and set them to T.K.O, and slow push 10mg morphine mixed with saline.** (don't feel like going into detail on stripping the bags.)

(( We have an MTT (Medical Treatment Tent) on the squad))

I run back inside and help another vic to decon. After he's all washed I bring him to triage. "This one has 1st degree burns covering about 10 percent of his body. We're do ya want him?"

I carry the victim and wait for Davis to place a Yellow tarp down for me. I can run back to the base and get more Meds if I need too. Until further orders, I walk to the saftey area from the building and I look for the School Nurse. "Ma'am? It'd be a great help if you'd come help us with the treatment. I walk her over to the victims. I see her help so I run back in the school, go in the lab and see a computer sparking, so I unplug it. Why are the no hoses in here I wonder. I hear loud pounding on the fifth floor and I walk up a Handicapped elevator. Hey Hannahan? We need the elevator keys If you wanna bring 'em up. The doors jammed. I can't get it open it with the Halligan tool, also bring up a Porta Power Jack. Since the Stair chairs being used, can we get the Truck up here on the to the fifth floor? I yell to the person inside. We'll have you out in about 5 minutes. OKAY! Hurry...

I put the victim down and grab a truama kit and begin taking vitals.

I bring the keys to Galligano and go to the breaker in the basement.
"Galligano, the breaker tripped for the elevator power, I'll turn it back on. I'll bring the stair chair. I found it in ALS-1. Zack can I borrow this?"
*I turn on the breaker and the elevator door opens.*

"Sure" I continue treating my patient

"Thanks."
*I bring the stair chair up to Galligano.*
"Here ya go. I'll help you bring him down."

The patient is stable so I begin triage

Thanks. I put the keys in my turnout pocket and carefully lift the 17 year old out of his wheelchair and on the stair chair. You ready?

"Ready when you are"
*Me and Galligano pick him up and travel down.*

Once we get him outside we set him down in the green area. I move back in with some lines on my shoulder and move to the standpipe. I get my windshield thingy mcbobber and smash the glass , hook up the hose and start shooting. Galligano to Hannahan, If you ain't busy, I'd get in here and start breaking the windows!

(Hahahaha! No need to break 'em, Just open them.)
Squad 1, I'm going to open the windows on the first and second floors in the rooms that face the front of the building and the left side."

Your making me blush!!!!!!!! Damn. This lines dry, the pipe must be busted. I drop it and move in the classrooms looking for valued items.

I open the last window and run through the school looking for any other victims.
Over the radio "The school is clear of any other victims.(Other than the guys in the shower)"
*I go back to the room where the decontamination is happening and take the victim carefully out of the school. I put him on the red mat.*
"This one has 2nd degree burns. If you want to move him, be carefull."
*I look at the boy*
"I want you to drink this water Ok?"
*I give him water*
"Thanks."

Last four posts deleted. Galligano, report ot my office right after your unit is clear of this call. Get out of the building, sit in the truck and do not leave it unless Raven or Garcia tells you to. Now!

*I run back into the building and open all of the windows.* in the classes near the explosion to let the heat out.*

((What did I do?)) A firefighter has a job and can't just sit in the truck and watch his friends get hurt or die. This is making me feel like a baby. I have creativity ya know. Get's in truck and thinks

I put down my vic in the yellow zone, "Is everyone out?" I ask trough the radio.

I go to Jansens vic and begin treatment and an EKG

I radio back to Jansen, "We got 1 more, I'm bringing him down now."

"I'm going to need my stercher back now."
I say as I get a c-collar and my patient on the backboard.

"Oh yeah Zack, here you go."
*I put the stair chair back in the ambulance and close the side door.*

*I go and get a TIC from the Ladder and begin to walk through the school for a final check for hot spots. I come to the class room and look in to the TIC and see a red haze escaping through the windows. I say over the radio "Everything looks good in here, the heat is venting from the windows and no extreme temps are being found"*

Ok, that means all vics are out. 4 have been transported so I guess we start treating right Lt.?

"Lieutenant what do you want me to do?"

"I'm gonna start transportin"
I get the vic on the stercher and roll him into the ammbuance.

((Actually, Garcia, I could've swore that it said that we had a roll-out awning on the side of the truck.))

"Alright, I can help with treatment. Does anyone else need decon?"

"Move him to yellow tarp. We'll get an I.V started as soon as possible."

((I'm going to make this very clear very quick. In an emergency situation WE DON'T have time to set up fancy tents and unnecessary equipment. The tarp is what you have. Quick access. Use it. Complain to me after the call.))

"We're going to need more I.V bags and burn dressings, running out over here. Do we have more ambulances inbound?"

"If you guys want me to get anything, tell me."
*I get some water for everyone their, including us, and give everyone some*.

*I drink some water, grab a EMT bag, and start treatment.*

((Sorry, I've been out the past few days. Just to confirm, all have been evacuated, 5 transported, and triage is outside or inside?))

* I start putting some tools back in their respective trucks.I take off my mask but keep it on my person just in case somthing happens.*

I run to the front of the ambulance and begin transport.
"ALS 1 enroute to ER 1 in transit"

"PC-1 available to assist if needed"

I run into the ER with the patient give a report to a nurse, Run back to the ambulance restock and clean and back to the Operational Area.
"ALS1 enroute to the scene."

"If you need medic help, I'll get out there."

I get an Trauma bag and start treating the patients.

I get back to the operations area get out the stercher and begin triage.
