House Fire

'Ok Matthews, let's go!'

*I pull my line around to the front of the house and start hitting the windows while I wait for Brondum.*

' Ne Jess ur good, go ahead and start Interior operations I will hang out here. let me know if ANYTHING changes in there and if things get any worse, pull out immediatly and we'll go permenantly defensive. '

*As I leave the ETC in M5 I can tell that the lunch time traffic has already cleared. We are able to move through traffic alot quicker then before.

" COPA, Pump-11......Ladder 1 and Pump-11 Elements are beginning 2nd attempt at Internal operations. Will advise further. "

* I put my cover on and start walking around the exterior of the structure looking at the headers now coming from the 2nd and 1st floor. *

" Pump-11 command to Squad 1. Set-up RIT just incase its needed again. "

' got it davis'

* i kneel down and mask up and put my helmet back on before entering the building*

' everyone ready?' i shout over my mask

*M5 pulls up on scene and I get out and thank Angus for the ride.

'Thanks for the ride back. All vics should be transported. Just standby for now.'

"P-11 Anders to OSC, do we have anymore transports?"

" OSC to Pump-11 Anders. Possibly yes, go check with the PEMS crew that are handling the Vol. FF with a low pulse and additional injuries. take over for them if necessary and report status to me when available. "

* I start to talk over to the direction of jess and matthews who are preparing to go into the building. I look at tim who is gearing up near the door. *

' Hey Tim. Watch yourselves in there and dont do anything too dumb lol we dont need everybody down on this call. Its bad enough that we lost an ENTIRE Vol. Crew on this, no need for any of us to go with them, I'll be outside with the Squad on RIT. '

"Copy that, Wioll be at the PEMS ambo if needed"

*I start walking over the the PEMS ambulance where I can see the crew working franticly. I pick up to a jog to ask them if they need anything. Before I can say anything the lead gives me an IV to hold, so thats what I do. I look at the Women firefighter and can can see she hit like a belly flop. Her nose is broken and she lost conscienceness.

'Are her pupils resonding to light?'

'Yeah, she dosen't seem to have suffered any haed truma, she has some cracked ribs and one punctured a lung.'

"P-11 Van Der Water to P-11 Floan, do you want me and colwell back inside?"

" Pump-11 command Copies Casey and yes, head back inside with Matthews, Forsythe and Beard. make sure u got a full bottle of air. "

" lt how many people we got going in now? im counting 7 now"

*I kneel infront of the door and wait for the attack team to finish getting ready*

'Call out when your ready, No one moves till everyones ready'

'Looks like I'm hradin out!'

"Copy that Floan, I'll head back and get our tools set up."

*I pull my line back to the squad and keep it charged. Then I get out some irons, an axe, etc. Then I take off my mask for the time being. I get out a medical bag too.*

"Davis to Floan, I've got a little RIT set up here. Ready to go in just incase."

*i walk back over to the ladder and get my HRES bag ready incase of a RIT situation*

'We are gonna get this gal down to the hospital I'll take that bag from you now.'

*One medic takes the IV bag from me and I help them load up the firefighter. I watch as they start down the road towards Phoxlind. I turn and look at people staging up by the door for another go at an interior attack.

"P-11 Anders to OSC, All vics are cleared and I am free, Would you like me to assist with RIT?''

( O.K guys we're at 5 days almost 6 now lets finish this call up. time for the Pumper to take a Much needed rest lol. )

" Pump-11 Copies Anders. Assist in RIT ops."

* i see colwell get on my line and nicholas and casey grab another line and jess grab a set of irons*

' alright, we all good?'

* i crawl into the house and head to the right following the wall and see the kitchen fully involved and open my nozzle to a heavy fog and start at the ceiling and move my way down*

" Pump-11 to all Entry personell, Follow Matthews into the structure, stay close and put this out. "

* I walk over to the RIT team that has formed close to my Engine. I take offmy cover and pat Anders on the shoulder. *

' O.K u guys when the fire team inside is done we'll move in and do whatever overhaul is necessary, the guys inside can start putting away the hoses and relax, that fire sucks in there so we'll give them a break after its out. '

" Pump-11 Command to EMS Medic 5: are you transporting the final FF. If not then you cna clear and take on the Airport call. Please advise over. "

((I passed the HRES test...so should I get out an HRES bag, too?))

*I walk over to Floan.*

'Hey, can I get out some water bottles and stuff incase the guys need a rest?'

' Yea definatly, but we arent some damn roach coach, just put them on the bumper andthe guys can get them themselves. lol. '

" Pump-11 command to interior, Status report please. "

* My phone rings and I see its Illyanna texting me on what she is making for dinner. I text her backa nd put myphone back. *

' come on u guys hurry up im hungry as hell here lolol. '

*I pat Tim on the back as we make entry with the group. I follow close behind along the wall, using my TNT tool to check the floor.*

'Nice and easy guys. Check the floor as you go!'

*We advance down the hall as fire rolls across the ceiling. I hit it and push it back. it retreats back into the rooms it came from.*

'Left side, rooms three and four!!! *I yell to everyone*

* as casey takes the left hand side of the hall way i take the right side and we come to the end of the hallway and have fire in one room on each side of the hallway, both bedrooms*

' casey, you guys go that way' pointing to the left hand room

* my group goes into the right hand side bedroom and soak it down and as we are getting back up the fire flares up in the corner and i hit it and it stays out*

" matthews to floan, fire appears it may of started in this bedroom on the BC corner of the builidng, first floor, fire is out and we are coming out"

* i pick up my line and drag it back and out the door*

" Pump-11 Command copies Tim. OSC To all units Fire is Out say again Fire is out. Davis lets get in and start Overhaul. Matthews bring your men out and start wrapping things up so we can get out of here. "

* I keep my coat unbuttoned and walk over to the Engine. I grab a Pike Pole and start walking back inside the building to begin Overhaul. *

" got it"

* as we exit the house i see floans crew coming in to do overhaul and i begin to load the hose back and replace my air bottle*

* I pat Tim on the shoulder as we pass in the doorway. *

' Sure gonna miss u on my rig Matthews. but good Luck at the Dive Team. '

* I continue to painfully walk my way through the building and se that at least above the Dining room area there isnt much left to overhaul. The floor is completly missing and laying strewn throughout the Dining room area. The Walls are all charred so I start to pick through them looking for any signs of hotspots =but all I pull out is wet smelly sheetrock. *

"Is M-2 still needed on scene?"

" Negative Medic 2 you can clear and head to the Airport for the Woman in Labor call. "

* I look over at Jack who is continuing to work on Overhaul and I yell back at him. *

' JACK, go get the Engine ready to take off. We may need to respond to the Airport for a Woman in Labor. '

" Pump-11 Command to Pump-11 Van Der Water..... Casey Help Anders get the Pumper ready. we may be hopefully assisting Medic 2 with a childbirth at the Airport. "

" matthews to floan, all that is needed is your crew's tools and packs, everything else is back on the truck"

* i step out of my gear and throw it back into the trunk of my car and think to myself i gotta stop back at the station to wash it off and put my duty boots back on and get back into my car*

*I throw my jump back up to the front of the ambulance and put the O2 Tanks and their rebreather masks away and then shut the rear doors. I then walk through the ambulance to the front, I take it out of high idle, and into reverse and back out of the scene. I then begin driving back towards the call, and flip the sirens on and begin driving towards the airport.
"M-2 Enroute to Hospital."

*I grab a TIC out of the squad.*

'Hey Floan, let me come in and check the walls.'

*I walk into the house and scan the living room with the TIC, finding no hotspots.*

" Pump-11 Command copies Tim and thank you. "

* I start to look around at the mess that we have creted in overhaul and chuckle a bit. I start walking out of the structure and back to the Engine to finish packing up to leave. *

" Pump-11 Command to all units. Overhaul is complete. As soon as you are packed up yu all can clear. BREAK COPA..... Pump-11 at this time Fire is out and overhaul is complete. I will be shutting down Command and clearing all units on scene. Pump-11 Will advise when available. "

* as floan begins his message the ems channel ( ems center topic) walks over him and i hear them request for the pumper*

" copy that floan, i just heard on the ems side they are requesting another unit, for a heads up if you want to start heading that way"

* i start my car up, turn my lights off and head to the station*

" Copy that Tim, one of these days we'll get some rest haha. "

* I head back to the Engine. I open my door, take off my coat and cover, Put my cover on the dashboard and my coat on the floor below my seat. I look around and see the scene is mostly under control now. *

' My Guys lets go We got a call to help the EMS unit at the Airport. Hurry up. '

* I climb aboard put my headset on and close my door. *

" Medic 2...Pump-11 we'll take on the Airport with you from the House fire. BREAK Pump-11 to COPA.....We're clearing the Fire to assist Medic 2 at the Airport unless otherwise advised. "

*I run back into the truck and take my seat.*
'The calls never end!'

* i look back at Nick and laugh. *

' Oh come on...Sleep, Food, Social life. all those things are Highly overrated LOLOL. I already gave up 1 relationship for this place, just ask Hannahan He'll fill u in on that one. '

'Yeah we I've had my share of tough times. Hell, I might end up falling asleep on the truck.'

* I see Casey climb aboard and get himself ready. *

' Hey Casey, Take Faith Road to Storefront street to Southside Trulit Road. looks on the map the be the easiest way. Jack u ready to Deliver a baby lol. '

* As soon as Colwell climbs aboard Casey starts off towards the Airport. *

" COPA....Pump-11 Is En-Route from 12 Orange St to Johnson International to assist Medic 2. Please advise if another unit is closer. "

*I pack up the truck and follow P-11 to the airport.*

"M-5 to M-2, be advised I'm also en route."

'Floan I will be following in my POV is that okay? My bag and everything is in there now.'

"Ladder 1 Command to all fire ground units get overhaul started. If you need a break or need something to drink theres water on the bumper of the ladder"

*I walk back to the ladder pulling out a case of water and putting it on the bumper watching as the Pumper takes off for another call*

'Man, there they go again!'

*I walk into the dining room with my TIC and scan the walls. Nothing but green and blue.*

*i take off my pack and put it back in the drivers compartment and throw my coat up in te cab and start putting all the ladders back in the Truck, then i climb up on the turn table and put the ladder back down and bed it then i pull all the out riggers up and put them back and put all the steel plates back. once every one is in i put the ladder in drive and realease the parking brake and drive back to the station *

*I finish up inside and come back to the squad.*

"Squad 1 to COPA, overhaul is complete and we're clearing from the scene."

*I put away my TIC and all the RIT equipment and jump in. I turn off the lights, put it in drive, and head back to the station. I put on my headset on the way.*
