LF and BLS-1 Due

*I step into the ambulance, turn it on, turn on the lights, and pull out of the bay, and drive to the scene.*

"BLS-1's out on first street. Heavy smoke and fire visible division 1-Alpha. BLS-1 establishing rehab and EMS command."

*I idle the ambulance and step out I run up to two people standing in the driveway.*

'Hey, fire department's on the way, you the homeowners? Everybody out?'

'Yeah, we're the homeowners and we're all out. I have no idea what could have started this.'

'Alright, well we'll worry about that later, are you two alright?'

'We we're fine.'

'Good, well the fire department will be here any second, just stay back and let me know if you need anything.'

*I walk back to the ambulance*

"BLS-1 to responding units, homeowners have confirmed everybody is out."

*I step into the cab, turn the secondary radio to the fireground operations channel. I get the jump bag out, put it down, and lean against the front of the ambulance keeping an eye on the fire, the homeowners, and listen to the responding fire units*

"ladder 1 copys BLS1"
* pull up to the scene and possition my self in the driveway. jump out grab an SCBA, and set the ladder up to the roof.*

"Rodger that BLS 1 the ladder is only a minute or two out" I say though the radio while updating the ladder's EAT.

EAT: Time: 9:36 - BLS arrives on-scene, sets up rehab and EMS command

"Ladder 1, just letting you know reports confirmed that the Occupants are out and fire is contained to one home" I say through the Radio while watching BLS 1 and Ladder ones video feed.

I slide down the pole to the sound of the bells and get in the pumper. I turn on the battery and push the ignition switch and roll out of the station. "Pumper-11 to COPA, were responding to structure fire."

*"Pumper 11 on scene." I say through my walkie talkie.*
'Woah, look at that.'
*I carefully open the door looking for traffic and then jump out. I put on my SCBA then hook my breathing tube (I forgot the technical name) to my mask. I switch on the air in my tank then I grab the short supply line next to the pump on the side of the pumper and put it next to the hydrant. I then flush the hydrant and turn it off and grab the end of the supply line and tighten it to the hydrant. I ready the pump and fill the tank with water after 'turning on' the water supply.*
'You got water.'
*I grab out a crosslay and bring it to the front of the house. It quickly charges then I wait for orders.*
'Hey Lt., you want me to hook up a supply to the ladder or no?'

I hit the Q-Kill button and step out taking an SCBA out and I put it on my back and grab an axe. I wait for orders.

*i grab a chain saw and an axe and make my way to the roof. i take the axe and check to see if the roof is stable, it is. i start up the saw and cut a 4X4 hole in the roof and knock it in with the axe*
"ladder 1 to Pumper 11 roof is vented smoke should clear some and help with visibility"

"10-4"
*I walk to the side of the building and see that the back door is open and look through the side window but can't see much but just a tiny light flickering in what looks like the back of the room.*
'Lt., the back door is open but visibility is very poor.'
*I walk to the backyard and see some flames near the back door. I kneel down and aim my hose at the fire. I pull back the handle and put water on the fire. I move forward very slowly making my way closer to the house but not going in.*
"Fire near the entrance to the back door. Extinguishing now."

*I get off the Ladder with my SCBA on and and walk to the side of the truck where I open the compartment and pull out the RIT equipment.*
"Hutchison to Command, I have set up RIT at Ladder 1."

*I get off the ladder with my B.A on*

"Copy that Hutchinson" "Beard, vent the side C, level 1 of the building"

I walk over to the home owners.
'Hi, Im with the fire department, are there any dangers in your home?'
'Well, some utilities are in the basement, and the gas valve is on the right side of the building.
'Thanks, anything else?'
'No, thats it'
'okay, thanks'

"Hutchinson, can you shut off the gas, its on side D, after that we're gonna do a primary"

I get a set of irons and wait for Hutchinson

*I walk over to D side and shut off the gas, head back to the truck and meet up with Jansen.*
'Gas is shut off, I'll just grab an axe and we can be onour way for the primary.'

'Okay let's go!' I say as quickly grab a TIC and start walking towards the home

"Jansen to COPA, gas is shut off, roof vented, starting a primary"
I put on my mask and check the front door, then I open it, smoke is pouring out and we crawl inside
"Jansen to all units, starting primary"
As I go in I see flickering of fire in the back, just as Hannahan said.
'Listen up Hutchinson, we're gonna check this floor first, then the basement'

"Lt.,I'll keep the rear side if the house safe so it could be an emergency egress point for you."
*I spray the inside of the kitchen before moving toward the rear entrance of the house. I turn off my nozzle and stand straight up then with my other hand, I talk with my other hand into the mic.*
"Lt., visibility in the kitchen is improving and the kitchen is clear. How is it looking in there for you?"

I walk over to the house and break the lock on the door with the axe and place a chuck of wood from my helmet there to hold it. I use the side of the axe to smash out windows. "Hey, Beard?" "Watch yourself up there, it's getting real hot down here!"((Sorry Jansen, I posted something before all of this was here and it was on my iPod and never showed up.))

" Copy that Hannahan, visibilty is gettig better, I still here some fire in front of me, let me check it"

I crawl forward and feel its getting hotter, I get my TIC and scan the corner, Its burning in the left corner and we can't search this side further until it's vented.
"Jansen to Ladder crew, vent all sides on level 1, its getting hot in here."
"Hannahan, fire is in the back, Bravo, Charlie corner, Level 1"
'Hutchinson, we crawl back, and check the other side of this floor, the we check the basement'

((No problem Galligano))

*i climb down off the roof and grab a pike pole and make my way around all the sides of the building knocking in windows.*
"Jansen all sides vented"

( wait, so is hutchison a probie too?)

* I get out of the ladder with my scba on and grab a halligan and start taking out windows on the first floor with jansen's orders*

(Yeah and the house is vented)

"Copy, hook up the ladder and get a 1 1/2' line ready"
"Jansen to COPA, Level 1 vented, continuing primary"
We crawl to the other side off the building and check the kitchen, there's no fire and I check it with the TIC.
Nothing to see in the kitchen but the floor looks hot, possible a fire in the basement too.
"Beard, when you have the line ready, get ready with Mattews to go inside"
I check the door of the basement. 'No heat! Hutchinson' I get inside and see a fire in the left corner near the electricty lines.

"Bruce, get inside with Matthews and a line, go to the basement, wait with extinguishing till, I and Hutchinson have put out the electrical box"

"Jansen to COPA, fire in basement, Bravo-Charlie corner"

'Hutchinson, the electrical box is in the right back corner, you put it off, im watching your back'

( sorry me and bruce posted at the same time)

" ok jansen me and bruce will pull a line"

(( no problem mate))

"Copy, we're shutting off the electrical"

*i grab a cosslay off the side of the ladder and run to the door flaking it off behind me. once at the door i run back to the truck and charge the line. then i grab the nozzle with Matthews behind me and make my way to the base ment.*
'matthews make sure the hose doesnt get cought up'

" alright bruce"

* I stay behind bruce at the door way and start pushing the hose around the corners then find bruce at the door way to the basement and back him up*

*i get the line ready in front on the fire*
"Jansen is the power shut off?"

(sorry for some reason my post didn't post)
*I crawl over to the right side corner of the basement and disconnect the power.*
"Hutchison to Command, Power is disconnected"

I see Hutchinson shutting down the electrical
"Electrical is out, fire in no longer class C,"

"Hannahan, what's the status on the fire in the living room?"

'Matthews get behind me and back me up!'
*i open up the hose on the fire and start knocking it down*

'Looks good Beard, me and Hutchinson are going back, my B.A is almost in the red zone, need a TIC?'

"yeah bring it down and give it to Matthews"

" I gotcha Bruce"

* Jansen gives me the tic*
" thanks Jansen"

"Fire in the living room is still prevalent. It is contained only to the living room at this time though."
*I move forward into the living room and put the hose under my arm pulling the handle back and sweeping the water side to side. As the fire burns near me, I feel the heat on the tip of my ear and the low visibility makes everything feel worse.I breathe heavily into my SCBA as I move around the house.*
"Status of the living room is getting better and visibility is increasing. You should be able to uhh see better."

"Copy Hannahan, me and Hutchinson are gonna change B.A's and let Hutchinson stretch a line to assist you"
'Okay Hutchinson, let's change B.A's and then stretch a 1 1/2' to the back'

I put on a new B.A and wait for Hutchinson.
"Bears, can you give me a status update?"

*i move in spraying my nozzle all around*
'Matthews take the TIC and start the primary in the basement'
"jansen the fire in the basement has been contained to the laundry room shouldnt be much longer extinguishing"

"Copy Bruce, keep me updated"

Me and Hutchinson stretch a line, and take it to the back
'Get ready Hutchinson, Im gonna charge it'
I walk back to the ladder and charge the line
'Water's coming!'

" got it bruce"

* I crawl down the stairs to the basement checking each step to make sure it wont collapse, the smoke is very light and the basement is a mess. I walk around and look through the tic and dont see anything*

" Bruce theres nothing down here, no hot spots either"

((you are already in the basement, there is a fire extension there))

"Hannhan, Hutchinson is helping you with another line, any updates?"

( bruce said it was contained to the laundry room in there)

((I know, thats the extension, but why are going to the basement when you are already there? anyway lets focus on the call ))

*i see the fire go out*
"jansen fires out in the Basement, im comming out to change my BA"
((i gotta go log some time at the station so god mod me))

( my bad)

" Jansen, now that the fires out, I think we should do another sweep of the house make sure nothing traveled up the exausht tube for the dryer of spread through the wall, then we can finish ventiliating"

((no problem))

"Copy, wait for the living room fire to go out and the do another search with Bruce and me"

"Jansen to COPA and all units, fire extension in the basement is out"

" ladder protable copys"

" Jansen I gotta go change my bottle real quick, we'll leave this line here for now"

"Copy, Im at the back with Hutchinson, coming your way when the fire is out here."

" alright"
* I go to the ladder and grab a spare bottle and throw my empty in the cab*

" Jansen, me and bruce are out front, were gonna go to BLS 1 and get our vitals real quick, then we'll come and and take over your job/ overaul while you get you vitals"

"Copy, fire is getting less, sight is getting up, you can start overhaul real soon"

"Jansen to COPA, 2 Firefighter going in to rehab, starting overhaul soon"

" Matthews to BLS 1, we have two coming, whats your location?"

" Matthews to jansen, Bruce and I are out of rehab, BLS 1 is ready for you two, Bruce and I will start with overhaul"

* I go to the ladder and shut down the line we took to the basement then begin to walk out the line*

*I puit out the living room fire with some ease and check my SCBA levels and see its in the medium level.*
"Living room fire is out. Hows the rest of the house? Is it out?"
*I turn off my nozzle and head downstairs to see nothing wrong so I head back upstairs.*

*I go out to the ladder, switch out my cylinder and grab the pike pole."
"Hutchison to Command, if we are ready for overhaul I'll start pulling the ceiling down."

"copy Matthews, fire in living room is out, we're going to rehab"
'Hannhan, fire is out, go to rehab, we're gonna do the overhaul'

"Jansen to COPA , fire in living room is knocked down, starting overhaul"

'Let's go Hutchinson, time for rehab, take the line with you.'

"BLS-1, be advised, 3 coming"

"Jansen to COPA, I'll be in rehab togehter with Hutchinson and Hannahan"
I say in my radio as i walk to BLS-1.
