Ander's House Fire

'Burke'
'I have an electrical fire at my place tone out the guys.'
'Jesus Jack, anyone there?'
'Nope, just me and the dogs, my car is out, but my house's gas tank is too close for comfort'
'Get back, I'm sending two stations, TVFD is busy right now. Don't do anything stupid, your gear is being sent with first unit out of station'

(idk where me and the rescue are)

*I jump in the back seat of the rescue in full gear and yell up the the lt.*

'Jesus what did Einstein do at his house i say we let it burn'

"RA1 enroute."
*I pull out of the complex and turn right on to the Trulit Interpass. I head straight to the dead end and turn left on to Plum Way. I can see the smoke rising as soon as I turn on to the street. I hit the working fire button on the EAT. I pull up in front of Jacks house and stop. I hit the on scene button on the EAT.*
"RA1 is on the scene and establishing Plum Way command."
*I get out of the RA and head over to Jack.*
'Jack is everyone out and is anyone hurt?'

*I hear the siren of a patrol car cut out as it arives on scene. I flag her down and she roles down her window.

OFFICER: 'Are you Jack?'

'Yay thats me, ERT is on the way, this is a pretty private drive so there wont be much for traffic, but there is a risk of explosion if you want to let my neighbors know.'

OFFICER: 'Okay thanks Jack, I will get right on that once the first truck roles up.'

I see the RA pull up and the TSD officer drives up the road a little. Cory walks up to me.

'Yeah everything is okay, um I am not sure where my two dogs are, but other then that everyone is out. Did you grab my gear?'

"Command, what's it look like over there? TSD reports they are on scene to take note of any damages done for the charges against the dumpster fire arsonist"

'Alright, I'm glad everyone's alright. I think they're throwing you're gear on the ladder. I didn't get a chance to grab it on my way out. I'm gonna do a quick 360.'
"RA1 to COPA and responding units, all victims are out of the structure."
*I walk down the hill and see flames jumping out of the windows. I see two labs running out of the C side door and flames spill out of the door right behind them. I see the utilities box out side the house and trun off the gas, water and electrical. I come back to the front.*
"Plum Way Command to COPA, We have a fully involved basement fire. Flames jumping out the windows all utilities have been cut from the box."
'Jack, your dogs were in the basement but the came running out as I got down there doing my 360. They're running in the back yard.'

'Okay thanks, I will get them in to my truck and out of the way.'

I go into my truck and grab my dog wistle and give it a good blow. Deohge and Midnight come running up and jump up on me. I point to my truck and they go around back behind and I open the rear hatch and watch as they hop in. I shut the door and crack a few windows for them.

' John when we get there lets get 2 2" lines running. '

" Pump-11 to OSC where would our best entry point be. "

"OSC to P11, come in the drive way. I parked out on the street to get you room to get up it. You'll have heavily wooded areas on both sides and about 30-40 feet from the C side door of the structure."

*I hear the tones and jump out of bed and hit the pole and then run over to my gear. I throw on my pants and coat and then climb up into the drivers seat of the truck and start it up and hit the lights.*
'Ready when you are Bruce.'

'Hey cory, there isn't a hydrent until Fort Basio lane or peach road, but there is a little stream about 150 yds down through the trees we might be able to feed one truck off of. other so we may have to lay alot of line or call mutal aid for tanker(tender) support

(Somebody grab Jack's gear, I forgot to on my way out.)

"OSC to P-11, Jack tells me that there is not a hydrant on this road til Fort Basio Lane or Peach Rd. We do have a stream you can draft off of about 150 feet through the woods. However, it that doesn't suit your needs we may need an MA tanker."

" Pump-11 Copies RA-1, My line can reach that however the draft vs. 2" line ratio isnt gonna be enough, we probably should get that tender started. BREAK Pump-11 to Ladder 1 Beard, did you copy that transmission, if you guys are gonna drop lines as well that is definatly relivant. "

' John, Go ahead and drop 2 1 1/2" lines with a 2" to the stream, Tim can you assist him with that when we arrive. '

* I put my Nomex on and drape it down around my neck. *

(How far down Plum Way are we, cause the engine should have about 1000 feet of 5in. And what the heck is a tender? Is it similar to a tanker?)
"OSC copies P11. BREAK, OSC to COPA, can we get a PFD tanker enroute?"
*I see the TSD officer coming up the drive. As I walk over he rolls down his window.*

'Sir I have evacuated both side of the road and shut it down.'

'Ok sir my name's FF/PM Hutchison with ERT, Im going to need you to move your crusier off the drive way because we have more than just my truck coming in here.'

Officer
'Ok, I'll get out of your way.'

The alarm sounds at Station 2, and I listen for the details. I hear it's Anders' house. "Lets go guys, looks like one of our own is in trouble!"
I make my way to the bay where the Rescue stands all by itself, I take my slip-ons off and step into my bunker pants. I grab the keys, my turnout jacket and my helmet aswell as my nomex hood. I open the door, start the engine, open the door and wait for Hannahan and Moon to get in.

*I watch mitch don his gear and hop into the drivers seat*
'What took ya. frankly i haven't figured out why were going sounds like he got everyone out if station 1 can't handle it we got some problems'


(p.s. how are you waiting for me to get in when i'm already in haha)

'Go jack go!'
*i lay on the Q and the air horn as we pull out of the stations and race twords his house*

*I pull up on scene, jump out and put on my SCBA. Then run over to Cory*
'Is there anyone in the house yet? And what are we doing about water? I didn't see one for like a couple miles back'

*We pull up on scene*
' Floan where do you want me to put it? we going right in the driveway?'
( sorry im just confused as what we are doing with stretching a line to the stream, normally we just take a couple sections of hard suction with a floater on the end and dump it in a creek)

*I pull out of the station and turn on to the street and floor the truck.*
'Time to see what this thing can really do.'

' Tim, pull her up between the house and the stream watch for those trees, John lets start on those lines, once you are in position go ahead tim and help us pull hose. '

* The truck comes to a halt until myself and John get out, I walk over to cory as the engine positions itself between the house and the stream. I look and see several headers coming out of each basement window and I see Jack looking pretty dishevled. *

' Hey Jack u good? go and grab your gear or grab a seat and relax no worries. Cory we're gonna start shooting water through the windows until we get a tender here, I dont want my guys to get inside and then have a low stream of water, that would suck a bit. '

*I pull the truck up to the start of the driveway and stop.*
'You want to stage here or try to fit this thing all the way up in there?'

"OSC to P11, Just to let you know you might make it down the hill but I don't think you can make it back up. I would suggest laying down 5 in from the driveway to the stream, and attaching your hard suction there."
'Alright, I'll call for the tender, Lt.'
'Botfish, we have a strem about 150 ft. through the woods that we'll have to draft off of for now so see if the pumper crew needs help.'
"OSC to COPA, can you respond a tanker to our location for a water shuttle? BREAK to L1, Bruce we have a long wooded driveway and need a water shuttle so you might want to stage in the street."

'alright'
"Botfish to Pupm-11 command, you guys need any help?"

*I pull up onscene and park behind the RA. I hop out and throw on my turnouts and start to walk up to Cory. I key up my mic on my portable.*

"DCF1, I'm onscene. Incoming units receive onscene instructions apon arrival."

'Whats the deal here Hutch? Where's anders?'

*I see the chief pull up and key up the mic.*
"Ladder 1 is on scene staging on the road at the end of the driveway."

'Chief he's standing right next to me.'
*I point at Anders.*
'Here's what we have, Chief. We have a fully invovled basement, flames throught most windows. All windows that didn't have flames through them were broken, by me, on my arrival to vent. All utilities are cut off at the utility box, so we shouldn't need to worry about gas explosions or class 'C' fires. We have a bit of a water situation here though. We have a stream about 150 feet from this location, throught the woods, that we can draft off but I don't know how long that is going to be able to support the pumper. Everyone, animals included, have been evacuated from the structure and we have that all cleared. I have requested that PFD send a tanker if they have one to set up a water shuttle for us. TSD has Plum Way completely closed from Fort Basio Lane to Peach Rd. We have no hydrants between here and where they have closed down. I have SV1 assisting the pumper crew set up to draft, ladder is staging at the end of the driveway waiting for assisingment, I was going to have them vent as much as they can, and then assist with supression, then the RA is free for whatever you would like us to do, Chief.'

"cheif you want us to get to the top of the drive way in case we need the areal?"

(i'm putting us on scene idk where john is)

"Rescue 1 on scene we'll be staging at the bottom of the lane out of the way of possible tanker ops or anything else coming up unless you want us closer"
*I hop out and chock the wheels as he puts it in park*
'Hey lt. I'm gonna open the awning'
"Rescue 1 has the awning open over the sidewalk down here if you wanna bring rehab down here in the shade RA 1"

* nodd to the chief then run to the pumper to gear up. I pull out my boots and throw them on before putting on my jacket and helmet. I put my gloves on as I walk up to Floan.

'Hey Lt. I just remembered, there is an old hydrent about 700 ft. down the road, but its a black hydrent so not much for water pressure. that might help a little. maybe we could have the SEV function as a mini pump and get water to us?'

" Pump-11 copies all transmissions, Botfish thats afirm we could use the extra hands here. BREAK pump-11 command to DCF-1 We are at t his point starting to pump from the river, we have made it up the hill and are staged between the house and the river. I have 2 1 1/2" lines ready to start suppression, Im thinking 1 team of 2 attack exterior through the egress window and 1 team of 2 go for interior attack, please adivse over. "

"Chief what do you want the ladder crew assinged to?"
'just hang on guys but get ready'

* I walk to floan and chief*
' guys, should we keep the ladder and rescue down towards the end, we wanna leave room for this tanker if we get it, have them send their manpower up, possible rit team?'
*I put the pump in gear and grab an scba from the cab*

(Tankers have some hose on them, so they dont have to be right next to the engine. the truck should be up there incase they need areal master stream....)

( no i know they carry hose, but its sounding like the road is narrow and small, or at least i pictured it that way..maybe not..and would you really need the master? its sounding like a basement fire, and if it spreads, poor jack lol)

I roll up and jump out. "Jansen run a supply line from the pumper. Davis you and me are going in. Floan have split your guys into teams of two, one exterior one interior. Ladder one start roof ventalation, Rescue 1 send two guys up to help with extinguishing, medical stage with Rescue one. SEV-1 Interior atack, give us cover while we search." I say and put on my SCBA.

((Guys use the chat box for radio chatter))

'Dammit lets go mitch a ladder a pumper and a squad and we gotta go put out the fire.'
*I grab my helmet and a fubar from the truck and start walking towards the house.*
"Cressler and mitch will be on our way."

'alright guys lets go. jack you and mike get the 35 foot ladder. jess grab a chain saw and flat head axe, chris grab a ground ladder and ill grab the roof irons.'
*i climb out and grab my tools and head for the house*

' floan ill take exterior with jack'
* I pull a 1 1/2" line off the top of the pump panel and flake it out and take a knee and see the flames in the basement*
*I put my scba maze*
' jack, will you turn our line on, not too much pressure though, dont want to waste too much water til we secure a source'

"Copy"
*I run and grab a small 1 3/4 inch attack line and get ready to go in*
"SEV to Pumper-11 command, I am ready to go!"

' John gear up and get ready to go inside with me Austin how do u feel about a little interior attack u up for it?. '

* I walk over and get my floodlight attached to my belt, grab my cover and survey the area for any hazards on the exterior of the property. *

" Pump-11 to OSC we are preparing for Interior ops now. "

'Yeah, let's get started'
*I go up to the door and turn on my SCBA and wait for floan*
"Floan, is there anyone else going in I should know of?"

'Got it Bruce'
*I grab a flathead axe and a chainsaw*
'Do you want the K12 too?'

'Got it.'
*I go around to the back of the truck and grab a 35 foot ladder and hand it to mike and we pull it out of the truck.*

"RA1 to COPA, Command has been truned over to DCF1."
*I head back to the RA and hoping the driver's seat. I move the RA down by R1 and park with the back end under the awning. I get the rehab gear out and set it in the back of the RA. I grab a few chairs out of the rehab kit and sit them up under the awning. I get my HRES gear and the RIT kit out and set up.*
"RA1 to DCF1 I have RIT and rehab established at R1."

'no just the chain saw'
*i look back as mike and jack come up to me witht the 35 foot ladder.*
'alright guys get it set up to the roof. Im going to start venting the basement as best i can. lets hope this fire dont walk on us.'
*i go over to the pumper and grab a fan and the cord reel and strech it over to the door at the basement and start the fan up and start removing the smoke*

((May I ask Matthews why you are going in with a 1 1/2? Which is pretty much the diameter of a garden hose?))

I put on my SCBA and check Florian's before going in.

*We put the ladder down on the ground and i throw the tip up into the air. We get the ladder to the correct height and then set it aginst the roof.*

*I jump out, put on my helmet, and grab my SCBA. I hook up an air tank. Then I grab a pike pole and hook a flaslight to my coat.*

'Alright Raven, I'm ready. Tell the guys to watch the floor. The fire's in the basement so the floor could cave in. I'll get tap it with my pike pole as we go along. Is there another door or way in?'
