Bomb Threats in Phoxlind

*I sigh and catch my breath. Now hearing the bomb is defused I walk over to the pumper to get a new air bottle. I take my pack off and twist the old bottle off then take it out through the straps. I open a bottle storage area and slide a second bottle out and put the first one back in, I put red tape on the compartment door and close it. I screw on the second bottle and test it before putting my back back on.

"Anders is back in service with full air"

'lets get back to work'

* I walk through the now Blackened Hallway where fire is still burning to a small extent now in 2 rooms. *

' Van Der Water, Concentrate your line on the 2nd room, Jack can you help him out with that. '

* I start walking down the hallway towards the Burned out West side and check the walls and doors, I dont find any heat coming from the doors so I open them to find nothing but a ton of Smoke Damage. I start walking back towards the fire area dn see Raven and his crew attacking the fire. *

"Received, all bombs clear, good job guys"

*There's a feeling of relief as I sit back in my chair monitoring the call board and unit cameras

"Copy, going in now"

Me and Matthews start heading to the selling room, I stop at the door and check for heat, none, I yell. "ERT FIRE DEPARTMENT! ANYONE HERE?" *silence* "CALL OUT IF YOU CAN HEAR ME!"

"Im in the selling room *cough* I can't see much, there's smoke in here"
"Okay, we are gonna get you! STAND CLEAR FROM THE DOOR!"

I smash the halligan in the door and open it, I crawl to a window and smash it, clearing the smoke.
Then I see a man, sitting in the corner. 'Are you okay?' 'Yeah, just some trouble breathing'
'Okay we're gonna get ya out' I quickly check the room for fire, but there is none, just smoke that is clearing out. "Jansen to Raven, selling room searched, one vic, yellow, no fire, smoke, going to triage now"

'Okay. follow us out of the builing and we'll get you to the EMS'
'Yes sir'

As we walk down, I grab my mic "Jansen to triage, bringing in a male, yellow tag, breathing problems, inhaled smoke"

We walk out of the building and walk to triage

*I move to the captains chair and turn to ETC channel*

'Medic 4 to ETC'

'ETC go ahead'

'Evening this is Lafferty on Medic 4 we are enroute emergent to your location male patient c/c of gsw to left shoulder, pateint is in pain about a ten on the scale. Patient is on O2 15 Liter per minute via NRB. Vitals are BP: 140/90 P: 110 Resp: 24 normal. We have about a 2 minute eta, do you have any orders or questions?'

'Negative see you when you arrive'

'Affirm'

*I move back over to the bench*

'Only about two more minutes, Sir'

"Hannahan to interior, we're beginning to vent the roof."
'Lets go Mike.'
*I run across the street putting my mask on and pick up my k12. I reposition the ladder and climb up to the roof starting to cut a square hole in the roof.*
'Alright Mike, push it down.'

(I have been busy today)
"Botfish to Ladder 1 command, I am free. Where do you need me?"

* I see most of the smoke start to fly out of the building, I take off my Mask and walk over to Van Der Water and Anders. *

' Good Job guys, once this room is out lets check with Raven and see if he needs help with his area otherwise we can Kill our lines, take them down to the Engine and start overhaul on this level. '

'Alright Jackson lets try to get some of these news people back if we can. There starting to inch back up and we still have active fire'

AS I follow Jackson around on the first floor look at the destruction.

Matthews and me walk back to the scene

"Jansen to Raven, back at the building, where do ya want me?"

"copy that Lt. Floan, I will be up in a bit"

*I run across the road and back up into the lobby, it is now clear of smoke. It will be time to sift through the debris to look for the bodies. I go up the ladder to the second floor halway, then to the third floor it is getting alittle smokey so I put on my mask and go on air. I pick my line in the room where I ran from and walk to where Casey and Floan are and let the wet stuff fly in a fog pattern on the dividing wall.
*I start to feel my arm throb from my fall but it will be okay until we are done. I think I hear a voice and shut my line down and listen.

'hel-el-p mm-e'

*I turn around and see a hand, an arm and the top of a head under a collapsed block wall.

"We need FF EMTs to the third floor room 8! We have a women traped under debris, still conscience, but I don't know how much longer that will be!"

'It will be okay ma'ma, there will be EMTs up here momentarily.'

"Cressler to command heading out of the building all visible fire out on 1st and 2nd still signs of smoke were gonna need a tic and pike we still probably got a couple more hours"
*I make my way out of the building first to SEV-2 where i drop my SCBA back then to our SEV to try and rest. Except for a short time at the RA i've been inside and out almost 15 times.*

*I use a pikepole and push the piece of roof down*
'This has been one busy day'

'Got it, to be honest, not sure they'll make it past the FBI barricades.' I say, still heading out of the building, and seeing the barricades of cars and people, with hundreds of reporters, photographers, people all trying to get in.
'Hey, what can you tell us?' One of them shouts as we arrive.
'I'm not able to tell you much so far, I would like to ask you to move back, and a senior officer will make a statement later.' I reply, as they keep jabbering for answers.

*I grab an board and straps and the AlS gear and head up to the third floor*
'Okay jack I'm going to be a collar around her I need you to get the gear off her.'
*I pull a collar out of the bag and place it around her neck.*

*i stand up for her to check me out*
'Having fun down here?'*i say with a wink*

*I smile at him and laugh a little*
'Eh...I wish I was in the building but this has been fun too. I mean I missed the action but I almost liked the rest. It's still really f***ing sore but thats nothing I wont get over'
*I check him over and take his vitals*
'Everything looks good Bruce. Gatorade or water? oh and I'm glad your safe..I was worried about you'

*I hear the call and run up to the third floor*
'Has anyone checked her vitals?'

"Cressler to any available EMT or medic can i get you to the third floor to assist bring MAST pants."

'Not yet botfish can you get them while he gets the debris off'

'gatorade please. And no need to worry hun. itll all be over soon'
*I stand up give her a kiss and go put my bottle back on*
"Cressler im on my way"
*i grab the supplys ill need and rush to the 3rd floor*

' Casey Help me with jack '

* We shut the line down and run over to Jack who is there with what appears to be a woman trapped under rubble and debris. *

" Pump-11 Command to RA-1 we have a woman down 3rd floor face first under rubble, We'll extricate and bring her down. "

'okay ma'ma we have a medic coming now. Whats your name?'

*I wait for a response and get none, I quickly, but carefully begin to take off bricks that have piled up on top of her while Cressler holds C-spine. As I pull the last of the bricks from her body Botfish comes through the door.

'Hey okay jack the debris of anders get me vitals bruce theres my ALS bag can you start a bag of ringers once I get BP I might start another rodger?'

*i get to where every one is and i kneel down and pull out the IV bag and i take a 16 gage and start it in her right forarm*
'You guys need to get her out ASAP all the rest can be takin care of out side'
*i stand up and help them get her down stairs*
"L1 HRES to Command where do you want me to go?"

(Not if her guts where hanging out but okay never mind we'll just fast forward and take her to triage.)

"Cressler to triage bruce is bringing one over Abdominal lacerations no vitals taken 1 bag of ringers left forearm no more information at the time. Bruce take her to triage"

*I grab my gear and head back to the Sev to to relax again*

As I wait for orders I go over to the Squad, taking a sip of water

*i take her over to triage*

' I wouldnt put that IV in yet guys, the movement going down and shifting side to side going down stairs could cause it to infiltrate, I would establish that she has good ABC and immobilize her, then take her out and do medic work. '

* I stand back up and watch. *

*I walk around the sev and check to see what tools we have and what is missing*

I head back to our car from the media line, bored after just a few minutes of standing next to the reporters, who can't calm down, and wait. As we reach our car, I grab a water out of it, and head out front of the building, where I stand near the Fire Trucks and just look up, unable to do much but just think.

*I see bruce and Cressler have it taken care of and I turn my attenion back to the hose and put out what is left of the fire.

"Anders to Floan, Fire in room 8 is out, we are moving down the line"

I walk out the door and see Bruce and Cressler still tending to the women and I walk down the hall to room 9, only 11 more to go. I feel the wall, its hot. I look ot the door and see smok pouring out from underneth.

'Floan can you bust the door down in case of a flashover? Casey and I will ready to move in.

"L1 HRES to interior, ill be checking fire floor 3 with the TIC"
*i grab the TIC and head up stairs*

'Mitch i'm not feeling so well I'm going to head over to the RA.'
*I walk up and see who is in the RA.*
'Whats up i'm here for rehab not feeling to well thinking I inhaled a little to much smoke up there.'

' ok, stand aside. '

* I pop the door and let the fire come out, the fire in this room is contained to the desk and the east wall. *

' Ok Jack its all yours. '

"Last one is mine." I say and kick the door open. Flames reach out at em and I open up with a fog pattern, dispatching the flames. "Floan, when you finish up let's grab an ejector fan for floor two. Then I need fire supression on first floor and help with SAR ops in the trade floor."

" Pump-11 Copies "

' Guys lets kill our lines and get down to the 1st floor. Jack can you help me with the fans. '

* I start walking back down to the engine and Look at with a chuckle. There is soot and debris covering most of it and above all I left my window open so NOW i have a dusty seat. *

'Well, shit, thats a hell of a day...'

*I get my dog back in my squad and drive up to where CE-1 is.*

'Hey, good job guys.'

" Medic 1 at triage on fire Freq, can i get ALS assistance with a patient over here please. returning to EMS Freq"

* I put my radio back and go back to my patient. *

'Okay then Moon, hop up and I'll get ya on some oxygen that should help'

*I climb my tired sore exhausted self up into the RA though by this time there stretcher seems to have disappeared to triage or somewhere so i sit on the bench.*

" Medic 1 at triage on Fire Freq,Cxl the assistance, Patient has been T&T'd , Medic 1 returning to EMS Freq. "

"Copy ill move down stairs to assist"
*i hang the TIC around my neck my its strap and i pick up an abandond line and manover it back down stairs. i stop out side the trading room and mask up and make entry once inside i have the TIC in one hand looking for fire and im draging the line with the other*

'got it Lt.'

I detach my nozzel and put it in my pocket as I walk my line to the wall hook and disconnect it. I fold it up and put it on my shoulder as I walk down the hallway to the stairs then the ladder on the second floor. I go down the ladder and walk out the front doors, or hole now, and put my pack on the pumper. I take my mask of and catch my breath before starting again, only now with a fan.

'Some day huh Lt. I am hopefully gonna sleep well tonight, if we leave before morning.'

*I walk outside back to the SEV and open the door and sit in the drivers side with the door open*
'Whew, i'm tired.'
*I say wiping my head and taking a sip of water*

I stand with my arms crossed right next to my partner and Libor. Looking at all the destruction and shaking my head.

'Well I can say for once when I saw that bomb I almost sh** my self'

We all laugh it off and they joke around with me acting like they smell something.

'In all serousness guys good job. Thanks for the back up Libor.'

'Alright lets check your vitals first'
*I check his vitals*
'bp 130/84 and heart rate 90 and O2 is 95%'
*I say to myself*
'Okay lets get you set up on oxygen now'

'Rodger hey BP ain't to bad for all the work i did in there aye?'

'Heh, you did great Moon, thanks for the rescue before. Okay lets take a walk to triage so we can get you set up on O2 and get a transport for ya, though your going for a roll more like it haha'
