Bomb Threats in Phoxlind

* i see Cory give me the thumbs up and i get up to got to Casey again who is already on the 4th room. *

' Looking good guys once these are out I want a room by room sweep on this floor then move to 3 then to 4 lol not looking good for additional interior help, I havent heard back from command or Ladder 1 on assistance. '

( Going to bed guys its after 10 and the firehouse is going to sleep now lol be on tomorrow. )

*I look at the abdomin and see that the abdomin is lacerated and eviserated at the Large Intestine.*
'Moon get a 5x9 and soak it in some saline.'
*I check the extremities but see no problems. I stick a 14 ga IV in the L AC, and hang 2 L of .9 NS on blood tubing.*
'Ok lets get him on the back board.'
"RA1 to Jess can you meet me at the door downstair with the cot. BREAK to M1 and DCE1, this is regarding a 30 ish y/o male, floating in and out of consciousness, assessment reveiled marked tracheal and JV distension indicating a pneumothorax which has been decompressed. We found a zipper scar on the chest which indicates open heart surgery, we have a 12 lead, showing elevation in II, III, aVF, V2,V3,V4,V5,and V6. We also found a large abdominal evisceration involing the Transverse Colon. We have a 14 ga IV est. in the L AC with 2 bags of .9 NS hung on blood tubing, we are ventilating via BVM at 12 pm and have an OPA inserted. We are covering with 2 5x9 pads soaked in saline. We have a c-collar on and will be back boarding this patient. I will also be administering 4 mg of MS, no nitro due to inferior involvement and unable to sallow so ASA is out of the question. ETA 10 min."
*Grab 4 mg of MS and push that in the patient. I take over C-spine.*
'Moon roll him on 3 ready, 1..2..3.'
*We roll the patient and Moon slides the Backboard under the patient. I secure the patient to the back board and secure his head.*
'Ok help me carry him down to the cot. I'll hand him over to Jamie.'

"Recieved Cory, on my way"
*I grab the cot and bring it over to the door*

*I open the 5x9's and soak them in saline and place it on the wound. Then I move to the feet and we roll him while cory is holding his him in C-spine. Then I help with the spider straps and get him secured.*

'Okay lets get him out of here'

*Moon and I carry him out to meet Jess. We strap him to the cot and I head over to the triage area with him.*

*We make our way back from triage.*
'Wow cory we still got 4 more rooms up there that could have more people like this. It could be a long day, and imagine how many DOA we have in the fire from the explosion.'


(Okay i'm done for the night offices 1-6 are checked 7-10 are left.)

*I head back over to RA1 and wait for people to come to rehab*

*I walk back to the RRT after talking to some civilians over by the barricades; most of them seem ok, but people are definately shocked that this could happen here. I sit in the front passenger seat, Bucello is in the driver seat still.*

'Allright, things are reasonably under control with the crowd. Any news?'
*I ask Bucello.*

'Halls, word from the outside is everywhere. They closed the New York Stock Exchange and the Phoxlind Airport. The President was brriefed on this and he's probably going to make a statement. What's more, we don't know how many more explosives there are around here - if there are any.'

'Alright thanks guys.'
"Ladder 1 copies Moon."
*I change out my SCBA which is going empty. I put it behind SEV-2 and I jog over t o the mid compartment of the ladder truck, open it, and get my extra SCBA and a TIC out. I close the compartment behind me and I move inside. I pick up my line where I left it and I radio to Floan.*
"Ladder 1 command to Pumper 11 Command, Floan."
*I keep my mic near my mouth so I could quickly answer if needed. I put my line down and I start checking for hotspots. I move the TIC around and I see that almost everything is wet down even the rubble. I then go back to my line seeing everything is fine but I radio to COPA to check about electricity.*
"Ladder 1 command to COPA, do we have the electricity cut off in this building. Some lights are off but some are still on copy?"

*I shut off my hose and walk over to my truck and start fillinbg up John's air tank*
"Hannahan I filling up your botle"

I keep directing the last few people away from the building, wondering how bad the situation is inside. I keep watching, some of them are coughing, trying to get help, but all I can do is direct them up the road. I keep looking up to the building, and then see one of those coughing suddenly collapse and fall onto his back. I run over, first aid bag on my shoulder over to the man, and crouch next to him, I tap him on the shoulder to try and get a small response, and realise he's breathing, before rolling him into the recovery position and watching his condition whilst I grab my radio.
"CE-1 is outside Stock Exchange, need a medic for a collapsed and unconscious person, over." I say, watching the man whilst still beside him, trying to get the attention of one of the TAC team to help if they could.

'Holy hell, this thing is off the ground now... Allright, we're supposed to be TAC, what do we do with these bombs? Bomb squad arrived, I heard?'

*I look outside again and notice officer Jackson kneeling beside an unconscious man on the sidewalk in front of the burning stock exchange.*

'What the... Think we should give Jackson a hand?'

"Botfish to Officer Jackson, I heard your call for help, do you need me? I am an EMT"
*I finish up John's tank and set it by the back bumper*
"Botfish to John, your air is full"

"CE-1 copies, Botfish we're outside the stock exchange, grab your equipment and get over here, we've got a person who's collapsed, still breathing, we need help shifting them to the Triage area. Over." I say into the radio, still beside the guy, who was breathing, but now less and less, in gasps, whilst waiting for the EMTs I decided to quickly check him over, I then realised there was a sucking sound, and saw his shirt had a large cut in it, and something like a piece of shrapnel had pierced his chest, and possibly his lung. "CE-1 requesting a medic for what seems to be a sucking chest wound." I semi-shout into the radio, and start to attempt to deal with the wound, which is made harder with a piece of metal sticking out.

*I grab my gear and run as fast as I can over to Jackson.*
'This doesn't look good he's loosing alot of blood!'
"Botfish requesting a paramedic for a fall victim with shrapnel in his chest and loosing alot of blood"
*I check his pulses his breath rate is 10 breaths per minute and his heart rate is 30 beats per minute*
'If we don't do something quick he's gonna die.'
*I take out my portable oxygen mask and put it on his face and wait for the paramedics*
"I am gonna neeed a backboard we are next to the stoc exchange"

'Ok, I'm gonna try and prevent more air getting in the cavity. You keep an eye on him.' I say as I grab a wipe and start to try and clear the blood as best as I can from the wound, before grabbing a chest seal out of the aid bag, and applying it over the wound, and make sure the adhesive has sealed it.

'Be careful not to hit or touch the Shrapnel'
*I also take a wipe and start wiping some of the blood up*
'he might have a concussion I don't know for sure until he wakes up'

'Not sure that's top of our concerns at the moment.' I say, as he seems to start breathing a bit faster, I keep watching him, waiting for a someone with a backboard or stretcher to come and help us move him to Triage, I grab my radio again and transmit another call for help. "CE-1 requesting medic here for assistance moving injured person to triage."

" Pump-11 to ladder 1 Command go ahead. "

' Casey lets kill this line and head to the 4th. '

" Pump-11 to all Supression units attached to Pump-11 be advised 2nd Floor is clear, we are moving to the 4th now. "

* I stand up and see Casey kill the line and we go and disconnect it and start walking to the 4th floor. *

'Davis, im gonna head out for a new bottle, back in a few minutes'

I start walking out of the building to Squad 1, first I get my gun out, for my own and FF safety.
"Jansen to COPA, be advised, I now am armed with my gun"

I holster the gun and start to get a new bottle, but then I notice a men, standing on the corner of the building, PD probaly missed him, then I see something else, what looks like a gun.
'F*ck' I say to myself

I walk over to him, with my hand on my gun.
"HEY YOU!" he looks at me
"YES YOU! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING THERE? GET OUTTA HERE!"
"HEY MISTER FIREFIGHTER, WHY DONT YOU SHUT THE F*CK UP?" then he quickly draws his gun on me, I do the same, he looks a bit suprised, not expecting that I would carry a fire arm.
"OKAY, DROP IT MATE, I WILL NOT WARN YOU ANOTHER TIME!"
"GO F*CK YOUSELF!"
Just as he want's to shoot I pull the trigger, hitting him in the arm.
"I TOLD YOU, DONT MESS WITH ME! NOW LAY DOWN!"
He screams in pain, dropping the gun, but he doesnt lay down. I walk some closer, pointing my gun at him.
"Last time im gonna ask this nicely, LAY THE F*CK DOWN!
He keeps silent, reaching for his dropped gun.
"DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT"
"BITE ME!" he says, grabbing his gun. I fire 2 shots, hitting him in his leg and other arm, he falls to the ground in pain.

I run toward him kicking his gun away "YOU ARE DETAINED BY THE ERT FD, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT, SO USE IT! If I here you talking, im gonna kick your ass, nod if you understand."

Pissed off as I am, I try to calm myself down, I see the man nod. 'Good, now, im gonna put zipcuff you, then you will be transferd to PD and EMS will treat you, understand?

'Yes'
I grab my cuffs and slap his head to the pavement 'Oh sorry, my bad' I cuff him.
Then I grab my radio.

"Jansen to Capt. Ewan, I have taken down a suspect, multiple gsw, can you get over here ASAP? BREAK Jansen to PD OIC, I have one suspect in custody, multiple gsw, he needs EMS attention, please get over here to take him over and bring him to triage. BREAK Jansen to EMS command, I have one sucpect in custody, multiple gsw in arms and leg, PD will bring him over"

*I climb up into RA1 and sit down*
'way to go Jansen'
*I say to myself and then take another sip of Gatorade*

'Jackson can you go and get a backboard? I will watch him'
*I say pointing*

'Where are they?' I ask Botfish as I put my first aid bag on the floor by the man, and stand up, ready to head to the vehicle the backboards were stored in, or help one of the medics over.

*I look around the RA and fund the collar Cory gave me before and I sit back down and wait for him to come back or for a firefighter to come to rehab*
'Hope Cory doesn't think I forgot haha'
*I say to myself and smile slightly*

'RA-1 will have one'
*I wipe up some more of his blood*

" Pump-11 to DC-1 Status update is Lobby and 2nd floor Fire is OUT, 3rd Floor active fire i 2 rooms, have 1 team working it now, 4th floor we are still assessing. "

* Casey and I reach the 4th Floor and begin addressing the walls. *

" Pump-11 to Sv2 Botfish, when your done with your patient can you meet me on the 4th floor with an 1 1/2" line. "

"Uh, negative. I don't have SAR certification"
'Jackson how's it coming wih the backboard'

I nod at Botfish and start to head over to RA-1 and seeing just Jessica inside I shout out as I grab a backboard. 'Hey, can you tell the crew that we borrowed one of their backboards for a collapsed person!' As I grab the board and head back to Botfish. I lay it on the floor beside him and wait for him to help moving him. 'Hey Austin, you got a bag valve mask, ought to give this guy a bit more oxygen, he's still got breathing difficulties.' I say as the first-aid bag didn't have all the EMT stuff.

(Every single firefighter is allowed in a building to search. It's required by law if you're a firefighter to have basic SAR. FF/SAR is a specially trained, advanced SAR officer, mostly for actual searching, as in they are somewhere in these woods. Botfish, you're allowed in the building.)
"Botfish, think you're confused, you can enter."

* I start walking through the 4th floor with Van Der Water checking the walls, I run my hand in a X motion along from bottom to top . *

' Casey do you have anything?. '

* He nods no to me and we keep searching, I start looking down and notice a Haze on the floor. *

' Casey look down, u see that?. '

* He says yes and we start picking up the pace of our checking. *

' Watch out Casey this could be a possible flash. '

" Pump-11 Command to Pump-11 Anders, when fire is under control on 3rd, bring your line to the 4th floor. "

"P-11, I have two coming up to you. I'm on my way too so hold tight K."
*I get up from my kneeling stance, put the TIC outside then run back inside and get my line.*
"Copy Botfish."
*I take my line upstairs to Floan stretching my line out a bunch. I see my line isn't going to go fully up so I bring it back downstairs, place the line next to the ladder, grab a high rise pack and move upstairs after slinging it on my shoulders to the third floor*

"Jansen to DC1, i've taken down a suspect, better get over here"

I keep waitin by the suspect.

I run over, grabbing Jackson's arm and getting him to run with me
'Shots fired, possbile terrorist, lets move'
"All police in the area of Ladder 1, possible Terrorist, shots fired. I need a medic at the ladder now."
I run up seeing Jansen bent over on the ground. I think I hope to god he's okay
'Florian!'

"Cressler to botfish did you get a medic to help yet?"

**I hear the shots fired and look over to where the shooting is. I step outside of the RRT truck and raise my M16, but I don't approach. I keep my gun trained on the suspect as the radio continues to broadcast.**

Radio: '...have just gotten word that Phoxlind Airport will resume normal service after briefly closing for a security check. A number of buses are still out of service. A small crowd has gathered outside of the hospital, where Phoxlind City Police have set up to keep onlookers away from the building.'

'Alright, Botfish can handle the guy.' I say, just snatching up my first aid bag as we run over to Jansen. Whilst running I grab my radio. "CE-1 to Cressler, Botfish still needs help, he'll brief you when there." I put the radio back as I reach the scene just after Burke and kneel down, drawing my pistol and then head over to the terrorist. I keep aiming my gun at him, and then draw my cuffs off my belt and use them as well, so we don't have to replace the zipcuffs everywhile.
'What happened?' I ask, as I drop the bag and see the wounds on the suspect.

(Little do they know, most people are being brought to our hospital, unless they are walking dead.)

'David, guys, thank god your here, he was standing here, I yelled at him, then he drew a gun at my, I drew mine and asked him to put down his, he didnt comply, I shot him in the arm, after that he still didnt comply and tried reaching for his gun again, as a response to that I shot him twice, in the leg and arm. After that he went down, I cuffed him, he's concsious, and I did not hit any lethal spots'

'Leg might be bad, I'm gonna call for a paramedic or two... Main arteries in the leg, if you hit that, we might lose him'
*I turn to radio medics to here*

**I close the door on the RRT truck and jog over to the gunshot victim. A small group has already gathered around him.**

*I grab the ALS bag and head over to where I see botfish.*
'Okay whats going on with him and what are his vitals'
*I say as I throw some gloves on over my filthy hands putting my fire gloves in my pocket first.*

I ruch down and see the terrorist moving towards his gun again. "Don't move or I'm going to hurt you real bad." I say, he doesn't comply, and I punch him in the face as hard as I can and manage to break a finger and brake his jaw and dislodge many of his teeth.

'Jackson, you should take care of that cell phone. Terrorists in Iraq set off explosives using cell phone detonators. If nothing else, remove the battery.'

*I turn at the sound of cracking bone*
'Jesus Ewan, get the hell away from him. Go get yourself checked at the RA, I'll get this guy away' I say trying to sound authoritative, but just sounding jealous it wasn't me
'Lets get him moved to triage, they'll bandage him, and I'll get PPD and PEMS to rush him straight to our hospital, put him in the inmate room'
PS Guys, lets slow it down just a little bit, like chill out a bit

'That's gotta hurt. Captain! you want me to check out your hand?'

'Got it boss.' I say to both Burke and Bucello, as I grab the cell phone, and open the casing, I pull out the battery, and place them both on the floor, out of power. 'Sir, you want me to get the guy there, or will you take him?' I ask, not sure if leaving the terrorist with our bosses would be good for his already deteriorating health
