Police Help and Questions
If you have any quick questions regarding any thing with police or need help or have questions this is the area to ask in. There shouldn’t be any off topic conversations here that is why we have a break room.

Re: Police Help and Questions
What equipment/weapons are available to patrol officers and TAC members? I.e. for traffic control, breaching doors, etc.

Re: Police Help and Questions
While you work on that, another question: does TAC respond to internal ERT crimes? Am answer to either or both of these questions is appreciated!

Re: Police Help and Questions
Explain? Like the internal affairs? Depending on the situation, we'd call from an outside agency, such as FBI or DEA. Just to maintain complete objectivity. Just like if an agency in our area had an internal crime, they could call on us. If you're talking about something else though, please explain

Re: Police Help and Questions
Quick note for TAC rank badges.. They aren't just thrown together
A simple one with no lines means they are not of Lt. Rank
One with a silver outline means they are of Lt. Rank or higher
If there is three stars in the eagle, it's the TAC OIC. Likewise for the other levels of stars.
If there is a gold outline, then they are outside of department, with exception of the OC and Deputy OC.
Thought I'd add that in

Re: Police Help and Questions
((I'm guessing this is the best place to put this.
I've just joined and been accepted into the Traffic Division. I was assigned to Cpl Linda and Ofc Jackson for mentoring.
My questions are:
-Should I be posting in the Academy, or have I been placed into the department?
-If I am currently placed, do I need to report to receive my equipment and my cruiser, or should I be doing something else until I am placed by DC or a senior officer?
Edit: Now that I've made my post, I see I've been assigned my unit in my banner. Thanks DC and everyone!

Re: Police Help and Questions
You can post in the break room about receiving keys and such, but if you have any questions, you can PM me or Linda at any time, or usually find me on the chatbox, we'll probably be working together a lot so, anything you want to know, we'll try our best to answer.

Re: Police Help and Questions
You've got everything you need to start. We don't have an official training program in which officers are trained right from joining, then given a unit simply becuase we lack the numbers to do so

((Not to be annoying again, but I'm having a hard time finding the stat card for traffic division. Or is it similar to patrol 1,2, and 4, being the same make and model?))

Re: Police Help and Questions
go to this site : http://www.ertrpg.tk/ and go to station rosters, then scroll down and you will see your unit, click it and it brings up the card
and dont be sorry, ask questions, everyone was new at one point and asked a billion questions, better you ask than not know

Re: Police Help and Questions
Yeah... I see where you're referring. The vehicle on my banner is the same Impala as the marked 1 2 and 4 of patrol as well as umc 1 and 2, but they all have different speed limitations and equipment. Unless my unit is similar to Sup-2's Charger stats and equip wise. (I'm guessing since I read it in an earlier thread, my equipment would be the same minus the shotgun)

Re: Police Help and Questions
You have the same car, yes, but speeds on the patrol car impalas were mucked up and I never changed it, the UMC should have the reading in kph of the patrol division impalas, traffic have the reading in mph (another muck up, it's on my to do list)

No problem. I'm not really concerned about trying to push any of that, just my curiosity getting the best of me. Thanks for the replies.

Re: Police Help and Questions
Not that I'm in any rush, just for the sake of curiosity. Is there a Time length/Number of posts/Number of calls required to step up from probation, or is it a judgment call made by a mentor/officer?
Also one I don't expect to achieve for a while: Promotions. I'm just curious what the requirements are here. I'm assuming since There are only 4 Traffic division officers, and two of them hold rank, that it'll be a while before that would be an option for me.

Re: Police Help and Questions
Prpbation expires depending on how quick you excel. If you do well fast, you leave probation fast, and if you do not so good, it takes longer to leave probation
As for promotions, you need leadership skills to get a promotion. That and great performance

Re: Police Help and Questions
Do the traffic lights in the area have exemption equipment on them, so we can force a light to go green instead of manually taking an intersection through liberal use of the yelp and electronic air horn modes on the siren box?

Re: Police Help and Questions
Several of the high traffic intersections will, such as around the fire stations and emergency service depots, but not all, as a unit runs at about a thousand each, and outfitting all vehicles is another thousand each.
