Car accident

'Set it here so when Squad 1 comes, it'll be easier for them to get the man. get a blanket over here too.'
*I hear Squad 1's siren down the road and see their flickering lights.*
'Finally. here they come.'

*I run over to the Ladder and get the blanket then run back over and put it next to the car*

*Doug gives me back the vitals of B/P 90/50, Pluse 170, Resp. 35, sink Pale and Diaphoretic. I get the pads out of the EKG and get it set up to cardiovert.*
'Sir, I need to take control of your heart because it is beating to quickly.'
'I have been feeling like my heart is trying to fly out of my chest.'-he says
'Ok, Im going to give you some Versed, it will make you not remember the pain when I take control of your heart, and I'll also give you Morpine for the pain.'
'Ok.'-he says
*I set the monitor to Synchronize Cardiovert at 100 J and watch the monitor flag the QRS complexes. Then, as I'm about to hit the shock button, then I remember I need to give the meds. I grab the Versed and MS and push them in the IV line. I notice the pt. start to get 'wozzy.' I hit the shock button, and see the rythm convert to Sinus Rythm, rate of 80.*
'Alright Doug, we need to roll code 3 but nice and steady to the ETC. And I call this one in, you just fill out the form when we get there.'

((Sorry someone got sick and I had to fill a shift on the engine today : S ))

"Sit rep please" I say as I jump out of the engineer's seat.

*I briskly jog over to Raven and start giving him a sit rep.*
'Ok, Autsin came in his POV and helped me out with setting things up for you guys but anyway... we have a guy in the car... possibly DOA but we should try CPR on him just in case. Your call on that. That fire over there started from the car fire which was knocked down pretty quickly here and as you can see, we're working on that. We got the KED, a blanket, and C- collar there. You want me to hold c-spine for you?'

(Sorry forgot to log off WILL be more careful) I pull up get out of the ambulance and run over to the one I see Hutchingson defibrillating. I see the EKG go to sinus rythm. "Good" I run over to the one with neck pain.

(Zach, your's is in full arrest, our is neck pain, who also had SVT, went to sinus after cardioverting. Hannahan has yours )

(Cory left with the guy and Squad-1 crew haven't extricated yet.)
*I run over to the car, and see that the brush fire has been getting under control.*
'Bruce, stay here with the line just in case something sparks up. Back up a bit so Raven could get by.'
*I back up a bit too and wait for Raven and his crew to start extricating.*

((Woah woah woah, there were to be 2 and ONLY 2 victims. Ladder one was supposed to extricate. That's the only reason why you guys came here.))

Alright crew let's go, Botfish windshield cutter, florian let's go with the jaws."

(oh sorry ) I then go over to the full aresst and begin resusication. "No!" I say as I look at the EKG.Flat line. I begin RSI. I then see his throat has been crushed by the steering wheel. I do a quick incision on the neck and then insert the ET tube. I begin CPR.

(Ladder 1 was to fire suppression ops while Squad 1 extricated.)
*I look by as Zack starts CPR on thee guy. I get a BVM with me and decide to help him.*
'I'll do ventilations while you do compressions.'

"Rgr P-11 standing by."
*I take a seat on the front pumper and watch the fire in the brush grow...*

(Sorry for that short post almost had a heart attack when the fire tones dropped while posting, but not my run.)
*I check the patients vitals while waiting for Doug to get us going. I get B/P is 110/80, Pulse 80, Resp. 16. Pt. seems to be resting comfortably.*
"RA-1 to ETC"

"ETC go ahead RA-1."
"ETC, RA-1 is enroute to your facility with a 30 y/o male, c/c of neck pain. Pt. had severe pain in neck and back. We have the patinet fully immbolized with C-Collar and long spine board. Upon arrival patient was stable with vitals within normal limits. After loading the patient into our truck, pt. experienced an episode of SVT, with vitals being: Pulse 170, B/p 90/50, Resp. 35. After Versed and MS, we cardioverted once with return to Sinus Rythm. Pt. states no medications, but does have a history of WPW. We have him sedated, with current vitals being, B/P 110/80, Pulse 80, Resp. 16. Pt. is currently disoreinted due to meds, and is resting. We request that a truma team meet us due to a possible C2-C3 fracture. Do you require any further?"

"ETC to RA-1, Take him to Truama 1 upon arrival."

"RA-1 copies."

'Truama 1 when we get there, Doug.'

(No that was pumper 11, ladder 1 isn't for supression ops, it's for SAR >.< hence the term ladder. oh well keep with the current vics, I'll have to go and talk something over with david, not much so don't worry))

"Alright," I say as I grab a blanket "Florian let's get the door off, I'll hold C spine, remove the car from the vic let's go."

*I unzip my jacket and pull my nomex down walking back to check the tank lvls. I cut back a little on our feed to the ladder so our tank can fill back up.*

(four of my crew on two lines each sooo that's two people on each line haha. The brush fire is going down as I have said before. Also, don't forget vic count guys.)*Every time Zack gets up to 27 compressions, I get my body postions to perform two ventilations. I do that then back up a bit to let Zack continue.*
'C'mon, get up...'
*I say frantically in my mind trying not to show my emotions.*

"Advise if a coroner is needed for second victim, or if he is in critical condition"

Florian opens up the side door and botfish takes off the windscreen while I hold Cspine. "I need help with the KED, Hannahan come help me."

'Gotcha. Bruce, start ventilations.'
*I get up and get the KED and put it behind the persons back. I then put the green pad behind the patients head to stablizie his head even further and wrap the black strap around the guys' legs,, strap him down with the other straps and put on the head straps to keep him still.*
'Alright, he's good now. You wanna lift him out?'

*I step up into the driver cab and lean back starting to doze off a little bit. I pull my helmet down a little bit and shout out to the crew*
'Wake me up when were ready to roll'

Yeah, on 3, onto backboard. Then we losen top and leg straps so he can breathe, then check the SMCs again."

*I talk into my radio to wake up Moon*
"Moon, wake up! I need you to help with the brush fire over there. Grab a line and get water over there."
*I lift the man and we place him onto the backboard.*

* I stir from my feet oh order dam I was havin fun sawin logs oh well.*
"Rodger 11 starting suppression."
*I pull up my nomex and zip up my jacket. I walk back and grab the red line and pull it off and walk it towards the brush. I give the signal to crank the pressure up and take a knee on the line. I twist it to almost full fog the flames aren't intense but there is a wide area.*
(oh yay an order finally haha and lt. your bottom signature thing still says P-11 just sayin.)

I open the Nozzel to a stream pattern and hit a burning bush, I bring it to more of a fog pattern to cover more surface area, "Hey Tim how are you doin back there"

**I heard the tones a while back and expected a small traffic collision, but as i've been listening in on whats going on at the scene, I decide to drive over. I leave my house, where I was stopping in just to grab some papers. I get my new class papers, get in my p.o.v, and hit the lights. I call up Mitch (Dispatch) and notify that I'm responding code 2. I hit the lights, but go quiet until intersections and cars in front. I pull up and put on a traffic vest, i just leave my extra set of gear in the trunk.**
"I'm just an observer for now"

**I get out a note pad and start noting things I notice immediately.**

*I see some flashing lights coming towards the scene..hmm I wonder who that could be, as the car approaches I realize it Lt. Garcia. I think to myself good to finally have the TO on scene.*

"Hey Moon, how's the pumper doing?"

"She's rockin pretty good we finally got to use our flood lights L-1 had alot of the fire suppresded by the time we got here."

**I notice CPR going on out of the corner of my eye.**
"You guys need some help over there?"
**As I pop my trunk to pull out my turnouts just encase**

'Can you switch with Bruce here? He looks tired and I don't wanna do CPR on him. After he does the next two ventilations, can you help him out? I want at theat brush fire.'
*I look over at the brush and see its dying down but still needs a bit mre are to cover. 'That's why we need Bruce' I say to myself..*

*I take the cutter and set it down a ways back*
'Windsheild done anything else?'

" Im good jack as long as you are"
* I point over to our left*
" we still a got a little bit over there jack" *i say through my mask*
" Lt, we have most of it nocked down, we have a small aprrox. 10X10 ft section left, then we will start going over hot spots again"

I turn the nozzel to the patch of dry grass Tim was pointing at and go to town, working on giving it a good soaking. The grass stops burning and is a charred heap of land. "Well that looks like that, lets grab a shovel and make sure its all out. "Hey moon can you cover while Tim and I go get shovels?"

" alright, good job jack, Ill grab the shovels for us, you start looking over the land"
* I walk over to the ladder and de tach my regualtor from my mask and then set my mask down inside the cab, i then roll up the compartment door on the drivers side and grab two shovels and also a wildland rake and carry them over to the side of the road and set the one shovel down, hand jack a shovel, and i take the rake as we start making our way through the burned land*

"Guys, look up. You have more tree on fire on the crown. Make sure it doesn't make its way down."
*I put my hand back on my side and wait for an update on the man.*
'Raven, how's he doing? Zack?'

*I quickly take off my jacket, throw it into the passenger seat as I step into the drivers seat. I put the keys in, take it off idle, and release the parking brake.*

"RA-1 to COPA, transporting one adult male to ERT hospital."

*I put it in drive, and drive to the complex*

"Ladder 1 to COPA, we are taking care of the suspected DOA patient. Fire is very close to being extinguished here. Do you copy?"
*I put my radio next to my ear so I could hear COPA above the many engines and talking around me. I shiver in the cold as a very quick wind hits my face. 'That fire shouldn't las too long.'*

"He's not doing good Hannahan" "COPA I think I'll need Kaizer and the cornor to declare this one"

*I walk over near the patient hoping for the best. I look at him and he looks lifeless. Then I grab my radio.*
'Raven, should I start sweeping up?'

*keeps sprayin the brush that's on fire. I look around for a quick second and I see a complete mess with all the parts of the car, the guys running around trying to save this guy, all our trucks parken with the lights going. Then I think to myself this would make a nice picture. *

" Chris, take the top of the tree, me and jack will start overhauling this ground"
" jack ill go back and grab a TIC just in case"
* i jump up in the officers seat and grab the TIC out of its chrger and close the door behind me as i walk back over to jack*
* I look around the ground through the TIC with jack as we see a hot patch back toawrds chirs*
" Chris, after your done with the tree, follow us back with the line, will still havea few hotspots. Jack and i will start tering up the ground"

'Rodger point out any hotspots" (god mod me putting hotspots out I'm on my phone and its not that important)

*I walk back out to RA-1, hop up in to the passengers seat and pick up the radio mic.*
"RA-1 to command, we're finished at the ETC, do you need us at the scene or can we go ahead and clear ourselves?"
*I put the mic back on its holder and what for Raven to respond.*
(Burke said as long as were not needed after a pt. transport we can clear from the hospital.)

"copy"

'You want 'em to clear, Raven?'
*I look over at the guys getting the TIC's and finishing up the brush fire and it puts a smile on my face to see them work so hard. I walk over to the rubble of the car.*
"COPA, do you copy?"
*I put my radio down and grab a broom from the compartment. I then radio back to COPA for a tow truck.*
"Ladder 1 to COPA, we need a tow down here."
*I put my radio back on my shoulder, take my broom, and start sweeping up. I look under the car since my curiosity got the best of me and I see some gasoline on the ground under the car.*
'Can't do much about that.' I say under my breath to myself.*

*I walk over to my POV and turn off the lights then walk back over to the scene*
'Anything you need me to do?'

"Understood, sending tow to your location"

*turns off hose and puts it back up on the truck and grabs a shovel and starts hitting hotspots*
