Large Shed Fire

"Anders to Hannahan -Water is getting low, I say we pull out and set up containment or we hook to the squad, the barn is a loss" I look at the water gage as it nears 1 quater left.

*i shut down my hand line as its no use without the water*
'common guys we really need that water' i say to my self

"The squads got on 250 gallons of water."

"L1 to S1, How much hose do you guys have to hook up to the hydrant?"

((No one updated a victim count. I'm gonna pretend we haven't found him yet and start yelling at you guys to start looking ))

"Pumper 11, report immediately to set up some water elsewise this is all gonna be a loss!"

(( Anders we have completed our SAR, i am pulling squad one up to the barn to assist you we have 100 ft of hose))

*i get in squad one and release the air brakes and pull up to the barn*

"L1 to S1, Approximately how far is the pond from the shed?"

"L-1 the nearest pond is about 90 ft. ill set up hose for draft""

(To draft you need a hard line for suction? Or a floating pump do you have that?)
"Pumper 11 to shed fire command enroute will hook up at hydrant and pull as far forward as possible be ready to hook ldh to your ladder"

"RA-1 to COPA, Squad 1 loacted teh burn vicitm, he is in our ALS care at this time."

*I get out teh BP cuff*

'BP is 70/50. Sire, are you having any breathing difficulty?'

*He nods* 'little difficulty'

'Alright, I'm going to put you on oxygen.'

*I stand up and retrieve a nasal cannula from one of the cabinets, connect it to the oxygen output, put it over his nose, in in his nostrils. I press the "O2" button to turn on the oxygen, and twist the knob to start the flow*

*I check his pulse*

'Pulse is 110.'

((the squad is basicly a rescue engine so it shoud have hard suction))

"L1 TO P11, Once you arrive onscene hook up to the hydrant and start up the road to the shed for exterior attack on the shed."

"10-4 we have hard suction and pump i am setting up for draft now"
* i pull out hose, pump, i set the pump into the pond and connect the hose*

"S-1 to L-1 we have water supply now from pond"

* I get out of the ladder with my scba on but leave my mask off at this time*
" Lt. if you need, ill await pumper 11 and stretch more lengths if needed"

"P11 on scene"
*The hydrant man hops out pulls it off the truck and signals us to pull foward. We pull up to the fire.* I hop out start my air supply and grab a cross lay. I walk up to the front of the building and start an interior attack*

"Copy S1. BREAK. Matthews assist Squad 1 hook up there lines to our truck."

"P11 will do an exterior attack with lines from there engine."

"Cressler BACK OUT! I said EXTERIOR attack!"

*i walk up to L-1 with hose and hand them to Matthews*

"Rodger backing out. Advise heard sounds of distress inside"

* i pull the remainder of the line off of the back of the pumper and I drag it over to the ladder and attach it to the rear intake*

" ladder 1 to hydrant, we're ready for water"

( im going to bed guys, feel free to god mod me, hopefully snow day tomorrow though)

'Chris wanna try and force our way back in?'

(Copa how large is this large shed? Like is it a tool shed or closer to a garage size?)

(Sorry guys, just got back from an Emergency transfer to UK from Richmond, it has been a crazy night.)
'Doug, how much do you think he weights? 100 kgs close? Aslo while I start getting this stuff set up grab me a SAMPLE and lets get those legs in a burn pack.'
*As I ask Doug what he thinks, I start 2 16ga IVs and hook the patient up to a 12 lead. I grab the drug box, and grab the morphine and versed.*

"Squad-1 to Cressler, the EAT said large shed"

(I know but everyone has a different definition of large I'm just trying to get this right so we can play it out right. Its not that hard to find a downed guy in a tool shed but if its larger its hard)

"Yeah bruce lets do a search inside for the second victum. Grab a extingusher and a HRES Backpack and a smaller SCBA."

*grabs a extigusher and my own Bag*

*i run over swap out my SCBA and grab the HRES backpack and an extinguisher*
'Alright lets go'

"L-1 i'll join your search" "S-1 to COPA L-1, S-1 are starting interior search for second victim"

* i put on full PPE and join McEveroy*

"negative HRES only. Stand by if we find a victum for medical attention."

((Remember this is a shed. my guess is roughly the size of a one stall garage that is a total loss, we should be good with one two man team then just stick to exterior and knock it out. I don't even think it was worth putting the ladder up for. just an opinion from a rural fire explorer.))

"Lets get water on this and get the flames down everyone" I say as I help hannahan with a 2 1/2 from the Ladder.

((Snow day tomorrow!))

* I get ready to cover the HRES entry trying to peer through the smoke to find any combustible items I should cool off before they enter.*

"10-4 standing by"

'Ready chris?'

'Do you want my line I can pull another one from the truck when you enter i'm going to have to back off so I dont hit you.'

"Lets go! You look left I look right. We are gonna report any and all rooms and search all"

'Uhh,' *I take a look at the man*

'Yeah, I'd say about 100.'

*I say as I stand up, grabbing a burn bag out of an interior cabinet, and get a burn pack on his two legs*

*I kneel down next to the stretcher.*

'Sir, we're going to start you on some drugs, and get you to our hospital right away, alright? Have you been to the ERT hospital before?'

*He nods no*

'Alright, can you recall what happened here?'

'I was getting some salt out of the shed to put on their driveway, and I lit a candle when I arrived. I left it unattended while I plowed the driveway, then when I came back in, the workbench was one fire, and there was a gas can and. I filled a bucket with water form an outside garden hose-hookup, I threw some water over it, and a can of gasoline or whatever splashed back onto my legs and they were on fire, so I went down to a lake to put them out.'

'Alright, well we will get you to the hospital as soon as we are done doing what we need to do here on scene.'


((FIREGROUND))
"RA-1 to Fireground command, our patient advised that cause of the fire is likely an unattended candle, and there is gasoline, and possibly similar fluids inside the structure

*i move in and start searching around. i look over and i see chris moving along the oposite wall. while looking in chriss direction i see what apears to be a foot.*
'Chris i think i found someone!'

"Copy, Lets move over there!"

*i move tword the vic and grab his leg.*
'hes pretty burnt up'

*i'm forced to back down on the pressure a little and aim away from the HRES men entering the structure.*

"Alright lets get him out."

*grabs his upper body*

"L1 to COPA, Entry Team has found 1 victum. He is badly burnt and is unresponsive and has major smoke intalation."

'Would you like me to join the search too or set up an attack line?'
*I hear Bruce over the radio.*
'You guys might've found someone? I'll be in soon to help out.'
"Squad 1 to COPA, L1 has reported another possible victim. We're requesting EMS."
*I run back to the squad, put on my jacket and SCBA, and run towards the shed. When I enter I get on my knees and crawl towards Bruce.*

TOTAL VICTIMS FOUND: 2 (happy now Burke haha!)

*I connect pur supply to the pumper and fill the tank up watching the water level meter go up.*
(Didn't know if we GOT the water or not)
"Ladder 1 command to crew, we have water now."
(Remember guys, post if you found any victims and how many. Don't want to get confused)
"Chris, after you and Bruce come out, I want the place extiguished from the ladder as well as below. I want all L-1 crews to back out sice the shed is wooden and could fall at any time K?"

*I find the guys and the victim.*
'I'll get his legs, let's pull him out now.'
*I grab his legs and McEvoy and I pull him out through the smoke.*

*as walking out with bruce i see the fire moving towards what looks to be fuel barrels*

"SHIT! Time to move!"

"Copy Lt."

"if you need any help im still standing by at squad-1"

*I set my 2 lines to flow wide open, and I push 10 mg MSO4, and 4 mg of Versed.*
"RA-1 to COPA, requesting that the burn team at ETC be notifed, we are bringing a 30 y/o male with burns over 36% of his body, he is currently sedated with Versed, not intubated. We have 2 IVs 16ga flowing wide open for fluid rescesitation, and have given 10 mgs MS IV for pain. Patient is in a Burn Pack and we have Sinus Tachy on the monitor rate of 110. Stand by for further vitals."
'Doug, this is gonna be Code 3 to ETC.'
"RA-1 to COPA, Vitals B/P 70/50, Pulse 110, Resp. 18, Pupils PEARL, pt. is on 4 lpm O2 via nasal canula, watching to see if we need to bump up to a NRB. Also notify team that the vic may have been splashed by and may have gasoline in the wounds."
'Sir, are you on any medications or do you have any allergies?'
'I've taken a multivitamin, every day for the past 30 years, no I ain't got no allergies, and before you ask, I don't smoke, and I don't drink.'-he says.
'Ok sir, do you have any medical problems and when did you eat last?'
'Oh I had lunch about three hours ago, a chipotle burrito and some coke. I had a triple by pass last year, and I have had 4 heart attacks.'
'Ok thank you for your honesty, it will help the doctors treat up.'

"Lets carry him over too the Squad."

*starts walking towards the Squad*

* I see them coming out with the victim so I open and let the wet stuff get on the hot stuff. I twist up to stream and then back it down just a bit to get a light fog*
