Large Shed Fire

'Alright McEvoy, let's set him down here. Can we get a blanket or something guys?'

"Someone also grab the ALS gear off the squad?"

*once we get him set down i run over to the ladder and get the drug box and the moniter and return,*
'Davis get him on the moniter. ill start fluids. He aint Breathing Chris you wanna tube him?'
*i get out a 16 Ga and Start it in his forarm and start lactaed ringers on a macro drip*

"im getting it" *grabs ALS gear* *walks to McEvoy* "here" *hands ALS gear*

*I see through my mask Bruce and Chris taking out the second victim.*
"Ladder 1 to COPA, all victims are accounted for. Also, can we get ALS-1 on standby for a possible burn victim?" ((2 victims found now))

"Ladder 1 to RA-1, do you have room for two? You could strap one to the seat on a backboard and one on the stretcher."

"Ladder 1 command to Lt. Mcevoy, what does it look like in there? Did it grow?"
All L-1 Personnel
"Ladder 1 to crew, we have two more crosslays here, lets use them!"
*I quickly grab a crosslay and stretch it out. I then run back to the pump panel and fill the crosslay and set it to hard on (what I call full or regular stream) and start hitting the barn.*

"I'll tube him."

"thanks just set it down there."

"HRES to L1 OIC, The fire is taking the structure. The fire is spreading to the accelerants. The accelerants seem to be 3 50 gal. barrels of gasoline."

*starts to intabate the patient.*

*I put down the vic, run to the squad, and get out the monitor. Then I hook it up to the vic.*
'Alright here it is...he's not doin well guys...'

"Negative Ladder 1, we can't handle both at once. ALS-1 should be available, see if they can come down."

*I keep asking the patient questions, and monitor the EKG*

"HRES to COPA, Can you start us the nearest transport unit Code 3? If BLS1 is closer we will have medics go with."

'Alright Doug, let's get on the road, Code 3 to the ETC, I'll call it in. COPA should have the burn team on stand by.'

'Alright.'

*I get the portable O2 tank out of the jumpbag a and put it on the bench, then put the jumpbag on the bench. I step out, and walk to the drivers door, I throw the jacket behind the seat, and helmet on the dashboard, take the ambulance off idle, release parking brake, and pull off towards the hospital*

"RA-1 tranporting one adult male to ERT hospital."

'Alright chris ima start some Morphine'
*i start 5 mg of morphine into the IV tube*

*after intabating the man, get O2 started on him. Starts banadaging his burns.*

"S-1 to L-1, what is the status of the fire?"

"Bruce ALS1 is enroute, I reached him via his cell."

I pull up on the scene with my lights on. I grab the strecher and run to RA 1.
"Alright where's the vic?"

*Yells* "OVER HERE ZACK!" *yelling from the squad*

"BLS-1 doesn't have the necessary equipment for it even if you staff medics on it."
(I don't want you to relive the same thing I went through )
*I back up with my crosslay still managing to hit the top of the shed.*
"All units, back up. The fire is getting to the accelerants."
*Right as I say that, the gasoline can blows with a somewhat big boom but not enough to knock you down. Then two large booms come out in quick succession to the first one. I feel the wind rushing towards and drop my crosslay. I pick it back up seeing the shed collapse. I then start hitting the fire again.*
'Jessica, come here and take my line.'
*I give Jess my line and walk toward the barn a bit. I then pick up my radio on my shoulder and try to contact COPA.*
"Ladder 1 to COPA, we had a series of explosions coming from the shed resulting in its collapse. Crew are being accounted for and the victim is safe."
"Everyone, report in for me."

"RA-1 to fireground, we're clear of the hospital, do you have ALS-1 responding for the patient or will we take him? Either way will be back for a low-key rehab."

*I put the mic down on the console for a second and look at the call info on the EAT. I turn on the radio, switch it to a good music station, and turn it down so I can hear the music, but still hear the fire radio clearly.*

I run over to McCvoy and get the man on the strecher "Thanks" I say as I wheel the vic to the ambulance.

"zack need one of us to go with you?"

"ALS-1 is for the transport."

" Im here hannahan, on the dirver side of the ladder watching the water pressures, you want me on the tip to start dousing the flames from up top?"

*as zach gets the vic in the ambo i take transfer the leads to his moniter and pack ours up and put our ALS stuff away on the ladder take off my EMS gloves and go back over to McEvoy*

"Lt., would you like us to help with attack?"

"good job Bruce!" *pats on back* "now time to go back to the firefight"

"OIC, What do you want me and Bruce to do?"

"10-4, we're en route back to the fire scene."

*I start the engine, take off the parking brake, and drive out to the driveway. I see no traffic, so I pull out onto the road, turn on the lights, give a few short bursts of the siren at intersections, and head back to the scene*

I get in the drivers seat and drive to the hospital Code 3. "Thanks Bruce"

'No prob'

*Look out the front of the RA as we pull on to Fort Basio Lane and I can see the fire from the road as well as a large crowd of cars looking at the fire. I grab the mic.*
"RA-1 to COPA, can you send a PC or two over here for Crowd control/traffic control."

*when we get back to the scene i get out and go get my BA back on and go back over to Chris*

*As I drive up the road towards the fire scene, I shut off the lights, idle the ambulance, turn on the scene lights, and step out. I get the jumpbag out of a side cabinet, and place it on the counter top inside the box of the ambulance.*

"RA-1 to fireground, rehab is open if any of you need to stop by."

*I go over a compartment and grab the rehab kit. I set up th rehab stuff on the bench.*
"RA-1 to Command, has RIT be est. by anyone yet?"

"i was standing by for RIT if needed"...

(Copy, there is a RIT Kit on the ladder, you need to get that out and you need to make on the radio, RIT est. and it's location.) =)

ok " RIT established at Squad-1"

i pull a blitz fire off the ladder and set it up aiming it into the shed

"10-4, good job."
*I get my crosslay back from Jess then realize that I need to get closer to the fire and can't do it myself.*
'Jess, help me with this line.'
*I grab my radio quickly with two fingers and push the PTT button and talk into it.*
"Jack, Tim, I want you guys to get the other line and go on the left side of the debris K?"

*as the water pours out of all the fire hoses the fire starts to die down and i shut the blitz fire down*

"s-1 to fireground do you guys need any help?"

*starting to tire a little bit and seeing the fire die down I shut down my cross lay take down my mask and head over to the RA for rehab.*

*I see Moon coming over.*
'Hey Moon, how you feeling, everything alright?'

*i start draining crosslays*

"Ladder 1 to Squad 1, we'll need help with overhaul after the fire is extinguished."
All L-1 Crew
"Ladder 1 command to crew, the fire is done here. Go to rehab then start overhaul."
*I see the fire is dying down enough that we could start to rummage through the ribble so I continue to put out small spot fires. I then turn to Jessica.*
'Hey, get a shovel and tell Tim too. I need some shovels here so we could sift through this. Hey, Moon! Don't drain all of the crosslays yet ok? we need at least two for overhaul so we can get through this. (I'll write the call summary)

"Squad-1 copy"
*i go to the shed to help with overhaul*

(wilt is draining them not me?)
'Ah feelin fine just doing my mandatory check in and i'm kinda thirsty haha.'
*I turn to see more people coming*
'Oh good it looks like I beat the rush'

"sorry moon i thought you were resting at rehab

(I am at rehab your fine do what you were doing it was LT that messed up)

*I get Moon a Gatorade out of the container.*
'Alright we'll I'll take your vitals then if everythings alright, I'll go ahead and let you get back for overhaul.'
*I take Moon's Vitals, Pulse 150, Resp. 30, B/P 160/100.*
'Hey Moon, I'm sure your just working hard, but those vitals are really high, so I'd like to get an EKG on you, why don't you come on in and sit on the cot.
Doug, can you go ahead and take over the rehab, I need a few minutes to check out Moon.'

*walks over to RA1*
