Large Shed Fire

(ehh, we all make mistakes. go to rehab Jared)
*I put my crosslay down and walk over to RA-1.*
'Hahaha, hell of a fire there. You guys alright? I want you guys to split into two groups. I don't care who you pair up with but I need some guys on two lines and some guys with shovels to soft through that mess there.'
*I laugh a bit then take off my mask and clip it to my jacket. I then hold my radio then tilt my head to the side to speak into it.*
"Ladder 1 to COPA, fire is out now and both victims are in the hospital. Overhaul will begine after Rehab. Do you copy?"
*I put down my hands and wait for a confirmation from COPA while getting a bottle of water, opening it and chuggin half of it down. I then walk over to the side of the ambulance and sit down on the side door steps.*
'Doug, Cory, when you're ready to check me, let me know.' I say looking behind me into the ambulance.*

'ah dam okay'
*follows hutchison*

'Hey chris Doug will take care of you, I need to do some more looking in to Moon.'
*I help Moon out of his gear and get the get his shirt unbuttoned so I can put the EKG electrodes on. I print off the strip and look at it.*

'Sinus tachy at 130, ok Moon, your hearts slowing down so your fine, just lay here and rest for a bit, I want to make sure every thing goes down before I send you back to Hannahan.'

'It's cool i'm in no hurry the fun parts over if i go back out there I gotta pick up a pike and poke at stuff'

"Alright Cory, Gotcha."

*I walk out and hook up, both Lt. Hannahan and Lt. McEvoy to a B/P cuff, the EKG's on Hannahan and a manual on McEvoy. Both of their vitals are fine.*
'Ok you guys are fine, grab some gatorade and get back to work, don't want the probies to think you're slacking off!'

((Sorry just having computer difficulties. I deleted my recycle bin and I need to get it back. lol. Give me 10 minutes, I just need to restore my computer to last Saturday))

*pulls down ceiling* *man this place is a mess!*

*I get a gatorade, chug it down and feel bloated afterwards.*
'Dang, why did I did that...
*I get a big burb out of myself and feel better instantly.*
'Whooo.. that's better.'
*I walk to the truck and get a shovel from the top compartment and go to the rubble and start shoveling it up.*
"Oh, and someone get a TIC too."

oh yeah i forgot it fell down. * i grab a shovel and start scooping up rubble*


EDIT: im going to bed...if no one has posted in the morning when i get up ill finish moping up the scene and clear the scene. GOODNIGHT!

*Igrap a pike pole and and TIC. I set the TIC to overhaul mode and instantly red begins to show up on my screen. Well this is gonna be fun I think to myself. I begin to poke at the hot spots and direct water to the spots that are too hot along with the rest of Ladder and squad crews.

((how is that for an ending post night, get to sleep in tomorrow thatnks to the "blizzard"))

*I walk out of the RA throw on my coat and take off my nomex and shove it in my right cargo pocket. I put my gloves back on and walk towards the pumper. I think to myself nice I relaxed through the most of the clean up looks like there done already.*

(p.s. copa I like this most call we stand around for 10hrs waiting for someone to respond or something. but this one we worked with who was online instead of waiting around it worked out pretty well.)

"Can we just get a front loader to clean up this mess."

*grabs a shovel and starts shoveling debri*

(COPA I also like this as well, would have prefered a response though when requesting a PC or two. Also only one complaint is that we had 1 from the Pump, 1 or 2 from the Squad, close to full ladder, and a full RA on this. We need a better notification system, so that we get that better responses, so I hope we can get that new system of yours up and running. On the plus side, it went really efficently.)
*I get everything back together in the RA and close up the box. I come around and climb up into the driver's seat. I turn on the local country station and trun it up just enough that I can hear it, but not loud enough to over power the FD radio. I grab the radio mic.*
"Hutchison to Command, what is the eta to completion of Overhaul, and do you require any thing?"

(Well theres pretty much just me and garcia on the pumper garcia is active just not as active as some of the people on the ladder not insulting him or anything he's still a ver active member I'm not sure if there is anyone else active on pumper and if were gonna keep them moving this quick and just going through them without spending a whole day waiting for one person we might need more per week.)

(Right, but I'm saying is with DC's idea, all rigs would have their own EAT topics and we would watch the topic for our rig, only DC would be able to post there, that way everyone gets the email about the run. That way hopefully we would get more active responses. And I'm not bashing or trying to insult any one, I know some people can't get on and I'm fine with that, but some people didn't get on for other runs because they didn't know we had a run.)

(oh I didn't see that ideal but it does sound good, and yeah always gotta add i'm not trying to insult anyone just so no one gets mad.)

(btw all the threads i've read all the pulled out hose just magiaclly makes it back to the station but i know were not redoing cross lays on scense. I know my station usually loads it in the back of the squad then we deal with it at the station)
*I start helping take apart hose and drain them I go disconect the hydrant after looking throught the TIC and seeing nothing. I help the pumper crew load up all the hose and replace our tools. I put my scba back in it's palce and throw my mask behind me seat. I'll have to clean it when we get back.*
"Pumper 11 to Ladder 1 were done here requesting permission to roll out unless you need help cleaning up."

*I help put out hotspots and when I hear that the overhaul is done, I bring my line back to the ladder.*
"Alright guys. Are you sure we're done here? Everything has been checked? If so, help me out with the ladder. I need someone to help me put it down and I need someone to help put the shovels annd the two crosslays back too."
*Hoping everyone heard me, I turn off the pump and grab a spanner wrench to start loosening crosslays up.*

'Looks like we're done here, I'll start packing up.'
*I turn off the pump, drain and disconnect the crosslays, and roll them up. Then I put them back on the truck. I get in the driver's seat, take off my jacket and put it on the back of the seat, and grab some water. I drink it and sit in the squad for a little while.*

*I see Lt. Hannahan saying something but i'm not sure what...I'm in no hurry to get home so I walk up to the ladder and start helping them put stuff away.*

*I step out of the squad with my water in my hand and look around, seeing all the lights and trucks and I think...Wow!*
'Lt, we're done here. Anything you need us to do while we're here?'

* i walk out of rehab and throw my scba and mask just into the cab and ill pick it up later*
" Lt. ill put the ladder down"
* I climp up to the turntable controls and look overhaed making sure there isnt any overhead obstructions and then slowly retract it then swing it back over to its base*
" Lt. ladders down, im putting the riggers back now"
* I walk over to the rear of the truck and lift each rigger back into it's "home" and lift the platforms and slide them back in*

* i double check to make sure the squad has everything on it that it came with*

" well it looks good Davis, i guess were ready to go if they dont need us"

'what's the situation?'

"Botfish, there was a large shed fire, 2 missing victims, and squad 1 conducted SAR, found them and extinguished the fire and now we are packing up and ready to leave"

*I get back in my POV and turn off the lights*
'Man, i'm getting to slow for this stuff'
*I walk over to McEvoy*
'Hey, is that party still on? HAHAHA!'

"wasn't my party lol."

'oh, Whos was it? were you just hosting it?'

'Oh, that's right sorry'
*I walk back into my POV and leave the scene*
"Botfish to COPA, I am heading back to base"

*I put the jumpbag back in the side cabinet, and climb up in the passenger seat*

'Alright, we're done here. You can head back Cory.'

"RA-1 to COPA, we're clear of the fire.

*I turn off the Emergency Master, make a 'K' trun and head back to base.*
'So how do you think that run went, Doug?

'I think it went fine. Squad 1 found the victim quickly, and we got him here and in our care quickly. Rehab went well, and we were first on scene so we got info from the RP fast which helped speed up the search.'

*I turn the eat toward my direction and look at cal info, then look at the map of all current calls.*

*I run to the EAT and put in the call summary.*

Summary: At 1657 hrs, LFA and RA-1 received a call of a large shed fire. After arriving on scene, Ladder 1 started exterior attack on the fire. Pumper 11 ran a supply line from Fort Basio to the fireground supplying them and Ladder 1 with water. Pumper 11 then assisted in exterior fireifghting while Ladder 1 FF Bruce and HRES officer MCevoy performed SAR on the interior of the shed finding one victim. The other victim was found with burns away from the fire by Squad 1 and RA-1 crews. Both victims were treated and brought to ERT hospital. Fire caused the accelerants (gas) to explode with no injuries to any personnel. Fire was quickly extinguished and overhaul was started. The scene is now clear.

Comments:People once again got caught up a bit with not posting the victim count at the end of the posts. Please Remember to do that. Also, before overhaul starts, crews will have to go to rehab for checkout.

*I look around as the last of the hoses are put back. I put my SCBA back and climb in.

(Burke will tell us when the call ends. Wilt, You're not supposed to leave until you're cleared BY COPA. You can't clear yourself unless COPA doesn't respond in 12 hours)
*I press send on the EAT and sit in my seat, turn off fthe lights by using the button above me and just wait to be cleared.*

*hop back in the rig and sit in my seat falling asleep*

When fire has been overhauled, units are cleared to return. Pumper return the hose to the base
