Cabin Fire

* I come out of the house with the rest of my crew in time to watch the Roof start to give way. I take my mask off and check around for my guys. After making sure they are all present and accounted for I start to look back at the building ecoming more and more Unstable. *

' Eli, Break out the Deck gun, Nick give him a Hand with it. Casey Continue on your 2 1/2" line to the exterior, jack start to Individualy check the guys out and make sure they are all O.K. '

* I go to my side of the Engine, Open my door and throw my Air Pack on the floor below my seat. I take a Long drink of the water that i grabbed from the cup holder and watch as the scene continues to Unfold. *

*backing out with the boys, I take my mask off, and turn my tank off as I walk back towards the truck. I take off my SCBA, feeling like the fire kicked half the crap out of me. I set my SCBA on the ground near my door, and climb the steps on the pump panel to get to the deck gun. I swing it around to point to the cabin.*

'Lieu, the deck guns ready for water.' I say

*I pull a 2" attack line off of the Squad and head to the side of the house and open it up and start flowing water.*

*I finish up with the current vic*

'Please sit on the bumper for me.'

"EMT Botfish to any units, can I please have another EMT?"

*I point towards 1 of the women*

'Are you having any trouble breathing?'

Women: No

'Ok'

*I check her vitals and they are surprisingly perfect*

*I walk over to the truck and grab out a sthescope and a few bottles of water. I climb up top of the truck.

'Here Eli, drink this for me. How are you feeling?'

*I take Eli's wrist and feel his pulse. it is at 146 and strong and stready. It feels pretty good but I wait to see if he has any complaints.

*I point towards the second women and she climbs in*

'How are you feeling'

Women: Not very good

Women: I keep couging and it's hard to brethe

*I put oxygen on her and check her vitals both are low so I keep watching her to make sure*

*I gladly accept the bottle of water, drinking it while still operating the MasterStream. I knock out a front window with the stream, and drive the bore right into the window.*

'Pretty good, Jack,' I say. 'I feel like that fire kicked my arse, but, otherwise, okay.'

' Jack, when your done can you please go help Botfish, Sounds like he is in over his head with the people. We dont wan him slapping anybody with an Oven Mit Or anything. '

" Pump-11 Command OSC Raven, My guys are all in position. I have Babcock working the Deck Gun and Van Der Water working an Additional 2" Exterior Line, Anders is heading to assist botfish with EMT help. Advise further on additional ops if needed. "

"Alright, RA-1 let's get those patients moving advise if you need additional ambulances."

"They all are green I don't know how we plan on transporting"

* I walk over to the RA after seeing the Commotion going on and Notice Botfish has an abundance of patients, he has the Deer in the headlights look while trying to help them so I head over to him. *

' Dude, Austin u can fit as many as 4 i think in the back of the RA or call PPD to handle transport of them that isnt our concern if they are all fine. oh BTW im sending jack over to help u out with final treatments of them. '

* I chuckle and shake my head before walking away. As I start to walk away I get a Tug on my turnout coat, I look down and there is a little girl who looks up at me and motions for me to come down to her level. I take a knee next to her. *

Girl: Thank you sir for saving my family.

* I smile and almost tear up *

Me: Your welcome little Ms. but you knwo what...The Fireman who did it is right over there.

* I point to Jack who is clamly walking towards the RA. *

Me: Why dont u go talk to him about it, im sure he'll love it.

* I give her a wink and send her on her way to see jack, I then start walking off towards Raven to figure out our next move. I get up to him and look at whats lef tof hte house with him. *

' Sooooo hmmmmmmm whatcha wanna do with this now lolol '

* The Roof has fallen through, the frame of the 2nd story Gable end is still visible but is hollow now, there are barely 3 sides left of the 2nd floor and heavy dammage to the 1st floor from the collapse. *

' U think we should send a crew on in there to look for that Oven Mit? '

*still playing the MasterStream back and forth over the now collapses second floor, I notice a flare in the 3-4 corner. I'm not sure if any crews with a handline can see it, so I reach for the mic of my portable.*

"Pump-11 Babcock to Pump-11 Command, I've got a hotspot in the 3-4 corner area on the second floor. There's some debris in front of it, and I can't hit it. Maybe you could get a handline on that corner."

" Command copies Babcock BREAK Pump-11 Command to Pump-11 Van Der Water Take your line and hit the Corner that Babcock was talking about. "

* I walk over to Nick who is still assisting Eli with the Deck Gun. *

' Hey Nick, Grab another 2" Line and start Hitting the Southern Exposure, Colwell from the Squad should be over thre still as well. '

"Jack, I got it"

*I point to the last man and he climbs in*

'How are you feeling?'

Man: perfectly fine

*I take his vitals and they are fine too*

"All victims are green and good to go"

'Alright Lt.'
*I stand up and run over to the back of the truck and grab a 2" line and run over to the corner where I find Colwell with a line. I look back to truck.*
'Charge it!'

* I walk around the backside of the House or what remains of the house and see that Colwell and Brondum have their end covered. I walk back to see Raven. *

' Alright Ewan, u wanna go inside and finish it up or do u wanna let it drop?. '

"RA-1 clear to transport to hospital?"

"10-4 RA-1, clear to transport, ladder 1, if teams are still inside, please pull ladder crews out to take over RIT"

"10-4, RA-1 enroute to hospital code 1"

'Everyone find a seat. Were gonna take you to the hospital just to make sure you all are good'

*I slowly pull out and go towards the hospital*

*I see a little girl walking shly over to me. I get a confused look on my face as to why she would be unattended by an adult and over the fireline. She keeps walking towards me and then the next thing I know she is hugging my leg. Now I look really confused. Then I see Floan wink and know whats up.

'Thank you for bringing out my mommy.'

*I look down at the little girl

'It's what I'm here to do, all of us are. We believe everyone should have a second chance at life and we try or hardest to be sure their time dosen't come to early. Now lets get you in one of these trucks until we can get someone here to take care of you okay?'

'Okay'

*I walk over to the pumper with the litte girl in tow and pick her up and set her down in my seat. Then I take out my radio.

"P-11 Anders to OSC, we have an unaccompined minor. Could you please request some sort of law enforcement."

I look over to Floan, "Nothing much we can do, it's under control but the house will have to be condemned." I say. I turn around and see the sheriff pulling up, then I get on my mic. "Raven to DC-1 fire is under control."

*I see the sheriff's car pull up and get the girl down from the truck. I walk with her over to the officer and hand her over.

'Okay now this police man will ask you some questions then take care of you okay?'

'Okey Dokey!'

*I wave as I walk back to the truck and reach up for my mic.

"Anyone need water or relief?"

' Alright then, do u still need us for external support or are we good to go? '

"Everyone is available at scene.' I say and make a report to the DC. "Let's go over it with a tic, check for hot spots. Then pack it up" I say

' got it Ewan. '

" Pump-11 Command to Pump-11 Crew.... Kill all lines and pack them back to the truck. Nick grab the TIC and start going over the exterior of the property with the TIC but dont enter yet. Everyone else pack up your equipment. "

*I grab a TIC from the truck and start to see a hotspot. I look up from the TIC and see a burning tree branch.*
'Oh no Its a flaming log.'(LOL)
*I walk over and snuff it out. I resume my search on the TIC but find nothing else outside, but I do find some heat trapped in the walls.*

*I walk back to the Pumper and grab more waters. I wlkaround and find Floan and Raven.

'Here guys take these. Since the RA left I thought would take rehab. Is that okay Lt?'

*I look around and see everyone starting to roll hose and pick up around the scene.

' Yea Definatly Jack go ahead, when ur done just help out where u can here, we should be clear in a few minutes. '

* I walk over to the Engine and take off my Turnout coat, I place it on the dash. I walk over to the reamins of the house to survey the damage. The 2nd floor has now collapsed into the 1st floor leaving 1 side of the fram of the house still standing. There is small puffs of whie smoke still coming from various spots in the house and the ashes are everywhere. *

"All Firefighters, rehab is based at P-one one"

*I walk over to the pumper and get the case of water out. I also get out a stethescope should I need one. I personally grab a water and start to drink it as it feels good when the coldish water flows down my throat.

* I Climb into the cab and sit in my seat, I look at the carnage that remains of the house and shake my head in disgust that we were not able to save it. I start to think to myself how things could have been different and what I or my team could have done Differently. *

" COPA....Pump-11 is Available on Radio. Does the Dive team need assistance with personell on their rescue?. "

* I sit back and wait for a response while the rest of the team packs us up to leave. I lean out the side and hollar at jack. *

' HEY JACK Dont set up a big Rehab, we're gonna clear as soon as everything is packed up. '

( Sorry guys been sort of busy here. )

* I start to roll the Line as Raven gives the available message. I bring it around the house and then start to stretch it to let the water out before rolling it back up. *

' Alright boss im good with my line, u need me to help Colwell with his?. '

*I see everyone finish packing, so I grab the waters and put them back on the truck. I put my scope in with the other med supplies and shut the door. I climb into the truck and shut my door but roll down the window. I nod towards the house.

'Well, thats a bummer'

* I climb into the truck as casey sits down and turns it back on.. I sit in my seat, resnap my cover above my head and put my headset on. *

" COPA.....Pump-11 is Available on the air. "

' Ok Casey start heading towards the Phoxlind Foods, gotta pick somethings up. '

* I wave to the squad crew as we pull away from the scene and head towards town. *

* I take off my coat and set it on my seat then walk over to Colwell and start helping to roll the Hose with him. *

' Well that certainly was fun. cant wait for another one. '

*I drive back to phoxland*
