MVA Involving ERT Personnel

(And i'm sitting here watching. )
*I sit and watch to make sure everything goes smoothly*

*I let out a fake yawn*
'But you look like your doing such a good job over there'
*I grab the collar and board* (that i'm not sure if someone set out or not)
*and head over to the how half a vehicle*
'Okay boys you know the drill after I get this collar on we'll get the board under.'
*I adjust the collar and put it around the guys neck*
'Alright lets go'

'Botfish, you tilt the guy over while Moon moves the board under the guy on three. One, two, three.'
*I make sure the head is straight and wait for Botfish to tilt the head.*

*I jam the jaws into the door, right by the hinges, and spread it open. Then I move up and spread it again. The door finally falls off and I move it aside.*

'Jansen, you wanna push back the dash?'

"Units, be advised, we've got a team waiting for each victim at ERT hospital. Feel free to start sending them over when you're clear"

(You're still treating. Uh redo vitals, bandage up things like that)
*I give the head to Botfish and stand up stretching my back. I kneel down and start helping Moon with the straps putting the straps through the holes from top too bottom. I make sure it is tight and get a head bed. I start to immobilize his head.*

*I push the vic head forward and wait for them to have the backbaord in place*

'Yeah sure lemme get the spreaders'

I get spreaders out of the squad and start them up.
'Okay, here we go!'

After a few tries the dash gets pushed back

*I place the headbed on both sides of the man's head and tell Botfish he could let go.*
'Thanks Austin, you could let go now. I just need to strap his chin and forehead and we should be good to go. How's it looking Mitch? He's doing better?'
*I grab the head straps and place the first one on the chin and strap it and I do the same for the forehead. I makes sure every strap is tight and I get on the side of the patient and get ready to go.*
'Ok Cory, you ready for him? He's strapped up. You could take the uhh other side there. Moon, you have the bottom and Austin, pick it up by the holes near the head. Mitch, we're good here now buddy. Be our spotter and help us to the RA. Open the door for us when we get there.'
*I move to the side of the backboard and get my arms through the holes I'll lift from.*
'On your count Austin.'

'Ok, on 3, 1, 2, 3. LIFT!'
*We lift him up and bring him over to the RA and set him on a strecther*
'There we go'

'Alright, he's free. Let me just cut his seatbelt.'

*I head back to the squad, grab a seatbelt cutter, and head back. I cut his seatbelt in the middle and throw it to the side.*

"Davis to EMS, Beard is free. I need a backboard and some medics over here."

I check the mans vitals, which are a little high but in the normal range. I then get a C-Spine on him and get him ready for transport. I then bandage his various wounds.

"Hannahan, he should be ready for transport."

'Thanks Mitch. Help us strap him down.'
*I set him on the stretcher and I get the left side of the stretcher and begin to strap him down.*

(I've been on some school camping trip, Davis also remember you brought a backboard over to me.)

'Ok, Davis, Jansen, you get him out and onto the Backboard, I'll strap him down, and then we'll run him to PEMS, OK?' I say, preparing to take vitals when they get him fully out.

(Godmod me, I'll be on reduced activity for like a week.

(Alright, this is painful)
*I receive notice from the PEMS squad that they have accepted the patient, Beard and are en route to the hospital now*
"Units, just received word that Beard has left scene,w hat's the status on the others? Do we have a confirmed DUI?"

"unknown on DUI, will be taking legal blood at hospital to determine due to injuries."

"Understood, Note, all patients will be en route to the ERT Hospital"

"Police OIC copies."

*We place the unconscious victim in the ambulance and Cory gets in while his partner drives off.*
"Rescue 1 to COPA, all victims are being transported at this time. Can we clear."
'Being that all of our equipment is taken by the RA except for Mr. medicman's crap over here (your trauma bag I mean), we should be able to rap this up in what, five minutes? Let get this overhaul started.'
*I clap my hands and walk over to the officers side of my truck and start typing in the report through the EAT.*
(This was amazingly confusing for the most part! Definitely not one of our best moments for sure. I gotta go, report will be sent momentarily)

"All clear, tows should be there by now, you can head out."

(COPA NOTES)
This took very long, but was not posting heavy... I know you guys can do better, so lets do it better next time please

*I finish cleaning up my gear and hop back in teh back of the rescue*

(i could of posted a lot more but I was trying to let some others do stuff I didn't want to take over the whole thing)

Call Type: Motor Vehicle Accident involving EAT personnel
Personnel involved: Firefighter Bruce Beard
Fire units called: R1, S1, RA1
EMS units: PEMS unit
Summary: Units arrived on scene with two cars on the side of the road, one with an unconscious male entrapped in an overturned vehicle and Bruce Beard trapped in his POV. Rescue 1 and RA 1 handled the unconscious male while Squad 1 and PEMS handled Firefighter Bruce Beard. Both victims were soon taken to ERT hospital in stable condition.
Comments: Good effort on my part guys but people has gotten confused. Lets try this, In parentheses, once in a while, maybe once every page, write down specific things like who your treating or how the patient is supplementary to how many patients you have just so everything can go a lot smoother. Other than that, my team did very well as well as others. Good job guys.

"Rescue 1 command COPA, report is being sent via EAT now. We're clearing."
'K guys, lets go.'
*I buckle up, turn off the scene lights and take off my helmet putting on the headset shortly after.*

*I pick up the jaws and carry them back to the squad. Then I turn them off, disconnect the hoses, roll them up, and put them and the jaws back on the racks in the truck. I close the equipment doors and head to the driver's seat. I turn off some lights, take off my jacket, and head back outside. I go up to Jackson.*

'Jackson, everythings cleaned up. Lets go dude haha.'

*I get back in the squad, put on the headset, and turn off the lights. Then I put the squad in drive.*

"Squad 1 to COPA, we're returning to the station."

*After everyone gets in, I pull away from the scene.*

(Sorry guys, my sup talked me in to a 48 on top of my 12 so I just got home.)

"TU-1 Holding until Tow clears." I look over to Thomas. "Let's close the gap a bit and move the car closer while the tows finish up. We should be clear soon.

After packing up the equipment I get into the Rescue and start it then head back to the station.


"Who's hungry guys?" I say with a chuckle.

*I walk back to the truck and put away my med-ki and turnout gear hen get in my truc and turn off the lights*
"SEV out of service for the moment"
*I turn around and head to my house*

'Yeah, we should get food anyway. We don't have much left. Remind me to get a basket for Beard.'
*I sit back and close my eyes after putting my feet up on the dash. I sigh nervously hoping Bruce and the other guy is alright. Trying to enjoy the ride, I relax a bit though.*

((It looks like everyone is clear.)) "Traffic 1 is clear and headed for a meal break." as we pass where CE-1 is finishing up, I drop off the signs we borrowed and head to the burger joint.
