* I walk out to the Engine, Step into my turnout pants and throw my coat on. I climb aboard the Engine and put my headset on. I start to notice the rest of my crew gearing up. I type into the EAT on the truck the call numbers and the information comes up*

' Ok Jack whenever your ready lets move out. '

(this is for us to right??)
*i hear my first call as the officer on the truck i go out into the engine bay pull on my bunker pants and throw my jacket on then i climb in the officers seat as the rest of my crew climbs in i tap the q a few times as were pulling out of the station*

(Yeah, lightforce is Pumper and Ladder. You guys can request Squad 1 too, though follow McGuire's restrictions. This is her call after all, and disobeying her is worse than disobeying me, as I'll beat you senseless if you screw up her calls.. I'm used to mine going down the tubes )

'Kelly, you've got this one right? I'm still watching the hostage situation and the MVA we've got station 2 on'

'Yup, I'm all good here.'

*I look at the map and see the Ladder starting to move out of the station

(okay lol)
*as we pull up on the scene i grab my mic to give a size up.*
"Ladder 1 to COPA. weve got a small area of bushes off well be able to handle with the pumper and ladder. BREAK Ladder 1 to pumper 11 lay a supply line to us when you get on scene."
'Jess grab the cross lay and strech it. and jack and mike get some brush rakes.'
*i hop out and make my way twords the caller*

"Received Ladder 1 out with small fire in the bushes, Will Hold. 20:55."

(FIRE GUYS: Will hold means you can handle with units on scene/repsonding, right? I was listening to a fire in our town online tonight, and I heardd all the different Will Holds. I know Doubtful-Will hold means they probably can't handle with units already there, and Probable-Will Hold means they can probably handle with units coming, so I'm just assuming Will Hold means you can handle with these units, right?)

" Pump-11 Copies Ladder 1 We will be on Scene in 3 minutes. "

' Tim when we get there can you run a supply line to the Ladder, Casey, John can you grab an 1 1/2" line and back-up the Ladder, this doesnt sound like to much, Jack you and I will each grab a McCloud and start digging around the bushes. everybody cool with that?. '

* I can see the smoke from our position as we are still en-route. *

(yeah usally we say "will hold with...(unit number example being.... Engine 23 on the scene comercial building nothing evident. will hold with this unit and truck 41)

* As we round a corner I can see the Ladder's position, Jack brings us to a halt just behind the Ladder. *

" COPA, Pump-11 on Scene. "

* I take my headset off and step out, I leave my SCBA in the truck and put my cover on, I walk over to Bruce who is directing his crew on what needs to be done. *

' Well Bruce, what do we have here. '

* I say with a smile on my face, which oddly enough hasent left my face all day lol. *

'we just have a small patch of bushes over there i think if we put a line on each side and move twords each other well have it knocked'

((Wait, I thought we were in LF1 too?))
*I pull up onscene and break the Q. Then I put the squad in park.*
"Squad 1 onscene."
'Hey ladder and pumper, where do you want us?'

* I shake Davis's hand *

' Hey Davis, Didnt know you guys were coming, good to see the Squad though, My guys are gonna be supporting Ladder-1's efforts so i guess u can grab an inch and a half off my engine and hook up around back if you guys arent cleared. '

*I pull the crosslay and help Ladder 1's crew with Casey*
'I love the smell of brush fires!'

*I pull up onscene and grab my radio mic and shut off my siren*

"DCF1 onscene."

*I pull up alongside the pumper and roll down my passenger side window*

'Hey, you guys got this Floan?'

*I walk over to the Chief's truck. *

' Hey chief, yea we're good here my engine can handle with the truck. '

'P-11 Colwell to P-11 Command. We should have it out here in no time.'

(Im off here for the night. Godmod me if needed.)

'Gotcha then.'

*I pull up in front of the ladder and shut off my lights and turn my truck to watch them assault the fire*

* I grab a McCloud and start digging in around the fire, I start to see embers moving alla round from the brush that is being blown with the slight wind *

" Pump-11 Command to Ladder 1 Command, watch the embers make sure they dont spread. "

*I pull my truck back into traffic and head enroute to check on the MVA with the rescue.*

"DCF1 I'm AOR."

*I drive down through traffic from the fire*

*I finish digging the fire line and go over to the ladder and grab the water can, and throw the strap over my sholder. I walk over to Bruce.*
'Hey bruce, i'm going to walk the perimeter and make the fire dosen't jump the line, ill let you know if it does.'
*I walk off and start walking around the line.*
(Squad was added to LF1, they used to be light force additional, now they come with LF1.)

*i walk up to the caller*
'Hi ma'am how are you today'
good how about your self
'im fine thanks for asking. could you tell me what you seen?'
well i was out here burning some sticks in my fire pit when a gust of wind picked up some of the embers and carried them off into the bushes
'alright ma'am well were going to take care of the fire..is the fire still burning in the pitt?'
no i got it out with a bucket of water
'alright thank you ma'am'
*i walk back over to where my crew is and watch them making an agressive attack on the fire*

*I keep spraying down the brush, which is mainly smoldering now.*
'When will people learn not to burn when it is windy!'

( sorry guys, had major storm, knocked out power and cable/internet for 2 days)

' Got it LT.'
* I leave my scba off and roll the window down and enjoy the cool crisp night time air*
* Once we arrive i get out and notice the hydrant isnt too far from the ladder so i take out a roll of 4" hose and lay it from the hydrant to the ladder and give bruce the signal and he tells me he is ready so i charge the line*
' floan: what do you need me to do now?'

'Got it Bruce'
*I hop out of the ladder and grab a crosslay and start making my way towards the fire. I then open up the nozzle and start spraying water onto the fire*

*I see the fire try to jump the line and quickly put it out.*
"Hey Bruce, the fire is trying to jump on this far side, Jessica, can you get this ground over here whetted down"
((Just got back from Fast Five)

((Yeah we're LF1 now.))
'Alright, gotcha Floan. I'll try to get some water on the ground with Jess and get on that fire.'

*I run over to the back of the squad, grab my mask and a bottle, and hook up my SCBA. Then I grab a 1 1/2" line off the pumper and charge it. I turn on my oxygen and head over the fire. I spray the ground with a stream real quick and then aim at a group of bushes.*

'Hey guys, let's try to get it to the middle and watch for the embers like everyone said.'

*I keep spraying down the area I've been watching.*
'Davis, Jess you guys need help over there?'

(Do we really wear SCBA on brush?)

((IDK I just thought to be safe.))
'Yeah, if you have nothing to do. We'll have this under control any minute now.'

*I aim at another bush as it begins to go out.*

*I drag the hoseline over by Davis and start spraying the area down*
'Watch out guys. I'm going to use a straight stream and help out the fire line.'

'Alright thanks. I'll switch to a fog or somethin pretty soon, we're makin progress.'

"Hey Ladder 1, how's it doin on your side over there?"

'Were making a good attack. once this is out i want you guys to go ahead and start pulling the bushes apart to make sure that the fires out'

"Not much is happening on this side, I'm keeping it contained with the fire line and water can"

( No we have no need for SCBA on brush fires )

' Tim, start moving in on the fire with John, move closer and attack more aggressivly, the squad will continue to get any embers around, Im gonna keep working on the line with my McCloud. '

*i walk over to the ladder and grab a brush rake*
'Alright jess im going to pull apart bits of the bush and i want you to hit it with the fog to make sure it all goes out. alright?'
*i walk over to the bush and i start to pull away bits of the bush*

'Got it Lt.'
*I start attacking the fire on a wide fog, soaking everything around.*

(Thats what I thought. Wanted to make sure.)

*As Bruce pulls the bushes apart I spray down any remaining smoldering spots*

* I see no fire left around the bushes and the embers are not visible anymore. I walk over to John, Tim and Casey. *

' Ok guys lets pack it up, we can use hand tools to fnish up any overhaul needed lol. Overhaul bushes lolol. '

*I put the water can back on the truck and grab a brush rake and finish helping pulling apart bushes*

*I start breaking down the hose line and relaying it on the truck.*
'Well this was an easy one, easy enough to screw up our plans!'

*I start grabbing tools and putting them back on the truck so we can leave.*

*i put my tool back on the truck and i shut down the line at the pump pannel*

* i grab a rake and start tearing up the ground around the fire area and digging deep into the dirt and throw it around*
* i put the rake back in the compartment and help john re load the hose*

* I finish digging in the dirt and walk back to the engine to put the McCloud back. I open the side compartment and put it back. I walk over to my side take my coatoff and put it back on my seat. I walk over to Bruce who is finishing cleaning his area up as well. *

' well u ready to get out of here? '

'yeah, you want me to write the report?'

' sure, We're gonna go ahead and clear in a minute, u guys good? '

* I shake bruce's hand and step back into my Engine and put my headset on. *

' Ok u guys load up. '

" Pump-11 to COPA can we Clear? Also can we proceed to Station 2 for an hour or so? we'll still be in service and available."

"Pumper 11 you can clear, Ladder 1 clear to leave at discretion of your officer."

" Pump-11 copies clear available on radio. "

' Jack lets head over to Station 2. '

* I close my door and lean back in the seat as the Engine starts then slowly pulls out into traffic. I wave to Bruce and the Ladder crew as we drive away. *

Summary: Light force 1 was dispated for a reported brush fire. upon arival of ladder 1 the crew pulled an attack line and started to make a fire line. upon arrival of pumper 11 they layed a supply line to us and pulled a secondary attack line to assist and also helped with the fire line. When Squad 1 arrived their crew used a water can to make sure no embers flared up in the grass around the fire.

Comments: Everyone did very well. and followed all directions. there was some confustion in the begining about wether squad 1 is part of LF1 or LFA. but i think we got it all cleared up

*as mike climbs in i get text from Hannahan saying to stop by station two cause hes got something to tell me. i reach over and grab the mic.*

*i think to my self. 'ill just call him when we get back'*
