Boat Fire
LFA, Fire Support, RA01 due.
S1C to establish remote command until arrival is suitable.

"LFA and support please see the call out for initial scene commands." I say as we turn into the port. Heavy smoke is rolling off of one ship, and I see a port authority cutter circiling the ship. As the squad comes to a stop I get out. "Wilt, get me a supply line." I say and put on my SCBA "COPA be advised large ammount of smoke present no flames can be seen."

"Units update me with the status of the fire every so often. thank you"

'COPA SEV-2 on scene' I say as I pull through the gates. I pull up by the Squad and get out. I run around back and open the rear hatch. I grab a SCBA and through it over my shoulders and strap up. I wait for the others to do the same.
((I don't believer we have a S&R, one medical, two firefighters. you may be thinking of SEV-1. We carry extra equipment and are extra hands))

"Rescue's out at the port."

*Not knowing the port very well, I follow the smoke to 4A. I park facing Squad 1, press the Anti Theft, take the keys out, put them in a velcro pocket on the turnout pants. I put my helmet on, go around to a side cabinet, get a RIT kit, and lay it against the side of the truck, then bring the jumpbag and EKG into the box, and pull out the case of waters. I step back out, watching the fire. I turn my back to the fire and get on the radio*

"Rescue 1, out, establishing rehab"

*we arrive on scene. and i possiton the ladder with the turn table closest to the ship for better access. i put the ladder in park hop out and set all the stableizers down. then manuver the ladder in place on the ship. then i hop down put on an SCBA*
'alright hannahan were do you want me?'

* As the truck comes to a stop I step out and don my SCBA and strap my utility belt with a small axe on and head over to Hannahan.
' Ok LT Whats the Plan of Attack. '

"Ladder 1 on scene."
*We maneuver our way next to Squad 1 and I give instructions.*
Leuckenbach, I want you on the ladder. Give me a heads up on what you see when you get up there. Floan, you're going to be controlling the deck gun and the ladder. Jess and Bruce, start up RIT. You'll be staying on RIT unless you're told otherwise. Mike, get some lights on around here. I want posts on the left and right sides. Report back when you're done. Everyone got that? OK lets go.
*I jump out of the cab with my SCBA on and grab the supply line getting it on the floor.*
"B.A's on everyone. Ladder 1 to all crews, we're preparing to get the ladder up."

*i get a stokes baskit. and other tools and set up RIT with Jess*

* I take my SBCA off and and put it on the my seat, run over to the ladder and start working it over to theposition desired above the boat. *
' Ladder 1 Floan to All units on scene, Ladder is up and operational. '

Florian and I grab an attack line off the pumper as Frank and Van der Water follow us in. As we get onto the deck there is a loud bang, as a container carrying fireworks errupts not far from us. Frank and Van Der Water follow us into the control room where we start fighting our way downstairs.

* Hearing the Chatter from Squad 1 I try to position the ladder to the best place to support them *
' Ladder 1 Floan to Squad 1 command understand your making your way on the boat, let me know where best to give you aerial deck gun Support. '

"Roger that we got some containers with fireworks in them, keep them cool will ya."

((I'm off to bed im exhausted.))

(I think the general unit rolls are: RA-1 for rit and treament, treatment of outcoming firefighters both ERT and non, SEV2 fire fire support, Pumper to pump water and put out hte fire, Ladder for SAR ops and interiror atteacka nd Sqauad, well that's kinda a bit of both ladder and pumper.. Your guys choice though)

"Updates please on unit positions and jobs"

'Anders is moving to assist Pumper crews with laying hard suction hose for drafting' I say as I make my way to the pumper where I help Liam grab the last 10' hose to finish the connection. I help seal the clamps then slide the hose into the water. The pump starts sucking water 'main water supply is ready, hook on to the pumper for water' I say over the radio.

"Ladder 1 taking care of RIT duties. We have the ladder up now."
*I set up the supply line and connect to the pumper that is drafting.*
'Floan, you have water!' I yell from the ground up to him.*
(Night guys)

* I position the Ladder at a safedistance away from the fireworks for jack and Charge the line to the deck gun, not long after I start dousing the firework drums with water sweeping left to right. *
' Ladder 1 Floan to Squad 1, Deck gun is charged and running, advise on status and additional placement of support water for internal attack. '

"Can we get L-1 personnel not on the RIT to please move in to assist with interior attack. PPA Fire guys are running supply lines over the dock to the boat so we can get more interior attack teams. Has anyone coordinated with the PFD Commander?"
*I look over towards Henry, the dispatcher who started with me 20 some odd years ago, and he knows exactly what I want him to do, and he proceeds to get on the line with PFD to check out their exact resources incase my men don't reply back*

"Ladder 1 copies. Crew not on RIT and not on ladder, onto the boat."
*I walk back over to Floan.*
'Hey, watch our guys over there ok? I'm sending three. Mike, forget about the posts, Leuckenbach you're with Mike, Tufts, get a line and take it inside as far as you can. If you need more line, let me know. Anders, Austin, can you guys go in with a line for me with my crew?
"Ladder 1 to COPA and LFO, going to bring possibly three onto the deck of the boat. Do you copy?"
*I help pull a second line off of the ladder waiting for someone to pull the first line and I stretch it fully out. I jog back to the pump and engage the second crosslay.*
'Tell me when you want the first one filled.'
*I look back at the fire and wonder to myself 'what could've started this?!'*

*I hop out of the ladder and help Bruce get the stokes basket and tools and set up RIT*

*I jump out out and put on my bunkers then run over to the ladder where Anders is*
'What do you need me to do?

'Chris, remember to have your B.A. on. Your with Leuckenbach remember.'
*I start looking around and almost bump into the outriggers. I then move around it and go next to the small boardwalk and look up seeing some lines from PFD's trucks going onto the boat.*
'C'mon guys, lets go!'

*I jump off the truck and tighten down my pack, i start heading to the back of the truck to go up the ladder, then i hear my new orders and go over to the front and start putting my mask on to go in. I grab a 2.5 inch attack line with a smooth bore nozell on it.*'This ought to be fun, allright waiting on you mike.'

*I run back over to the ladder in time to hear Jack's question. I tighten my gloves on quickly.*
'That's right buddy. I'm not having you on the ladder this time so get ready for some up close firefighting. Take the second line that I just pulled K? Get onto the boat and work your way up. If you have any probalems, contact me. Alright, go and watch yourself.'
*I pick up the line and hand it to Jack in a quick manner to show him the urgency of this job.*
'You'll have two others with you on the line K? You won't be alone.'

'Understood, wow this thing is big.'
*Just then a container on the front of the ship explodes violently.*
'Holy this is gonna be bad.'

*I look up as the container explodes, I try my best to calmly grab my radio as my hand shakes a bit. I finally get it on the button and I talk to COPA.*
"Ladder 1 to COPA, we have an explosion on the front of the ship."
'Stay down ok. You might be able to see better if you stay on the ground than if you were standing up.'

*I hop out of the ladder and go over with Jack and Chris. I tighten my SCBAs straps as I walk over to them*

"is there a police car needed to send away some people"

"Negative, the dockfrom 3-6 are restricted access and have been cleared of all non emergency persons"

*I grab a halligan and my hose line and begin to advance up the ship, i come to a container and wonder whats in it, so i open it with my halligan and am supprised to what i find. I grab my mic and say" Hey Lt., you might want to come up here and have a look at this, im supprised this whole ship hasnt gone up yet."

'Hannahan were do you want me and Jess?'

"Be there in a minute."
'Bruce, I want you guys to stage over next to the boardwalk to the ship K?'
*I grab an iron (halligan+axe for those that don't know) but keep the compartment open. I make sure my air is going well and I go up the boardwalk to where the two teams are. I then give them a more specific set of instructions.*
' Alright, Anders and Tim, take the right side. Jack, Chris, Mike, take the left side. When you get to the the next boardwalk, let me know so I could tell Tufts what to do. If the stream gets too close to you, let me know. I'll be with Anders and Tim.'

((why are we staging... were not RIT..))

'Sir you might want to look in this container first.'
*Points to the container door proped open with a haligan.*
'And whats in it aint pretty.'

* I get out of the sev and throw my bunker coat and nomex on and throw an scba on over my shoulder*

*I jump out of the squad and put on my helmet and jacket. Then I get my radio.*
'Raven, what would you like me to do? I could grab another line and get right behind you guys if you want...'

"I'm right behind you Lt." I say as I run to catch up with him and Tim. "let's take lead and clear the way for the second ladder team" I say as the fire begins to move towards the Catwalk.

'Alright. Tim, your in front and Jack, your behind me.'
*I get in the middle and we start walking around on the deck of the ship.*
'Please don't explode, please don't explode, please don't explode' I say in my head as the smoke around me blocks my vision.*
'On your knees guys.'

"Lt. we wanna the back and then make our way to the front?"
* i drob to my knees, plug in my mask,and turn on my helemt light and streamlight on my jacket*

I hear Davis over the radio, I pause and Floria takes the nozzel. "Grab a high rise pack and head on in, we're on the mess deck, it's the first entrance, we've got almost no hose left." The pumper crew comes in with their hoses and hook up to the ship's internal water supply and begin to tackle the fire where we were. . "SEV 2, have one of your guys assist Davis, we're comming up to support you guys." Florian and I pull out and onto the deck and we go across the cat walk. Once we're in the clear I lock my SCBA mask and take it off and observe the scene. "Ladder one, have your man on the ladder cover the entrance."

'Just thought you might want to know that this container is filled with crated marked high explosives.'
*Starts spraying them down to hopefully keep them cool.*

' ladder 1 Floan copies squad 1 covering enterance now. '

* I begin to maneuver the Deck Gun into position to spray the entrance of the boat *
' ladder 1 Floan to Squad 1 Command be advised I have moved the ladder and am now covering your enterance however the firework drums do not have suppression now. '

" Lt. i suggest you let me go help davis seeing as i have no SAR"
* I walk over to the squad and help davis carry the hotel pack and i grab a set of irons*
' lets go davis!'

I drop to my knees and use the TIC I have to sweep while holding on to John's ankle. "BREATH How are you doing? BREATH" I try to keep contact as another explosion occurs not to far away. I can slightly feel the blast *Damn this is frekin nuts.... but I'm lovin it I think to myself as we continue to crawl.

*I feel for my mic and find it on my shoulder where it always is. I slowly take it off of my shoulder clip gripping it tightly since I cant see it. I hold it up to my face, press the PTT button and talk.*
"Ladder 1 copies. Ladder 1 command to Floan. I need you to focus on putting out the boardwalk fire near the front of the ship. Squad 1 be advised, we have one SEV guy with us here. FF Tim is coming to assist you."

"I copy Floan." I say, "An additional two man team is going to cover that." I say as the other two members of the pumper go past me to cover the containers. "Roger that L1, Tim help Davis with extinguishing ops inside."

I grab another 100 feet of hose and Florian follows me in. As we walk up another firework goes off next to us as I put on my SCBA mask. My coat, hands, and part of my face get pelted with white phospherous. I yell in pain and Florian drops his gear and we go down to RA-1. We take off my coat and gloves and get a damp cloth over the burns before Doug get's over. "Hannahan take command for now." Floarian says.

((Just for the purpose of playing no one is monitoring pumps just cause that's not fun.))

'Lets go davis! bring the hotel pack up with us, we'll connect it to the line up there. we'll go take over ewan and florian's line, make sure you have full ppe and scba on and tight' * I say as we are about to enter the boat*

(Dang...didn't get to use RIT)
"Copy Squad 1. COPA, is SEV-1 in service yet? We might need more manpower. Squad 1, Pumper 11, take the front of the ship while we get the rear. Leuckenbach, do not spray those explosives! Get back and make sure they don't get hot. Keep the fire away from it."
*I bend down, take the nozzle and start moving forward. I see some burning barrels and I start spraying it down. I sweep side to side and make sure I don't miss anything. ALthough it is working, it's a pretty big fire and the PFD crews are coping well with it as they move around spraying it. Soon enough, the fire gets smaller but I look around and see that we're not even close to being finished. I move around trying to get a better shot at it. I then think about Austin and ask him to get a line from the pumper and help them with that side. I grab my mic off of my shoulder again and radio to Austin.*
"Ladder 1 command to Firefighter Austin Botfish. Are you available at the moment? I need you to get a line from the pumper and help them with the front of the ship. Watch that boardwalk though. Try to get on the deck gun and spray from there."
*I put my mic back on my shoulder and keep spraying.*

*I shut down the nozel and back out, I start to spray dowm the visible flames approaching the container.*
