I don't think they're putting more vehicles in. There was some sort of engine error when they had too many. The error didn't happen on newer CPUs, but I think they're keeping the number of vehicles down so that people with older rigs can play the mod.

If there is one vehicle in particular I want, it's the Bundeswehr Notartzwagen. That's the German military ambulance w. emergency physician. The German military provides some ambulances in the cities where they have hospitals. And they provide SAR/Intensive care helicopters w. emergency physicians on board.

That's the BW NAW. The fire department also operates NAWs (ambulances w. doctors), I'd like to see those as well. And the two helicopters that service Berlin. One eurocopter, and one Huey Very Happy

Holy mobile CAT-scan Batman! I didn't grasp the concept of the STEMO-vehicle at first, but when I saw the mobile CT-scanner it made more sense. (The scanner is mentioned and presented from about 1:50 and onwards.)
The subtitles also say, for those who don't read German, that it's a part of research on stroke, and is meant to provide a more peaceful, efficient environement to provide care for stroke patients than a regular ambulance unit.

    Neat!

I know! I didn't get it either until I saw that huge thing in the back of the truck Razz With that you can start treatment right away! You can quickly determine if it's a clot or a bleeding, and start the drugs. With strokes that can drastically improve your chances.

thats not directly corect the Fire Department only have ALS Ambulances staffed with paramedics, the "Bundeswehr" has NAW's and in some larger cities has the local EMS some NAWs but standard since 1997 is a Ambulance (called RTW without a doctor) the doctor comes usualy with a extra car.

Usually yes, but the Berlin Feuerwehr operates a few NAWs as well. Even though the standard is RTW + NEF.

No, Notartz means emergency physician/doctor. I don't know if there is word for ambulance. The different types of ambulances are called different things.

Rettungswagen, or Rettungstransportwagen (RTW) is the "normal" ambulance, called to emergencies with (normally) at least one paramedic on board, and either a EMT-B or EMT-I in addition. Or two paramedics, depend on who's running it.

Krankentransportwagen (KTW) is a transport ambulances, used to transport non-critical patient either between hospitals, or between home and hospital. They carry limited gear, and are usually just staffed by EMT-Bs or EMT-Is.

Intensivtransportwagen (ITW) is an intensive care transport ambulance, like "our" MICU.

Notartzwagen (NAW) is an ambulance staffed with a doctor and two EMTs (P or Is). Used in stead of the normal system where a RTW meets up with a NEF (Notarzeinzatsfarzeug, Emergency Doctor Response Car) on scene.

It's not really that complicated. They just have specialized vehicles for various tasks. Some with more equpment than others, so you can repond to any given incident with the appropriate gear. But I can see that it may be confusing to people who're only used to BLS and ALS ambulances Razz

Nooo way I love LEDS you can fit so many more Leds on a light bar then rotators. However during the day I think rotators are a little better.

and I know in Germany three cities what still has a "Notarzt" direct in the Ambulance

These are: Berlin (4 NAWs) Hamburg (7 NAWs) Essen (3 NAWs + 1 Baby NAW)

All others has their Ambulances only staffed with 2 Paramedics (the combination possibilities are: 2 ALS Paramedic or 1 ALS and 1 BLS)

There are other cities as well. München (Munich) has a few, and probably a lot of others.

And most major cities have baby- and kindernotartz (neonatal and pediatric specialists with special equipment).

I only can tell you 100% sure how it is in my region. in Potsdam exist a pediatric emergency doctor, who comes with his own car if he is needet. (like all Emergency doctors in that Region) and in my Birth Town (Rostock) are except of these from the "Bundeswehr" are also all NAWs deleted and only RTWs (ALS Ambulance) staffed.

and in Rostock exist a pediatric doctor on a SAR Helicopter of the Bundeswehr in Laage on the Airport.

the last civil pediatric doctor who drove volunteer as Notarzt died 6 or 7 years ago.

and usualy is a normal Childdoctor (pediatric specialist) voluntary on standby for emergency. but crap is, such volunteer doctors has in the most "Bundesländer" (like states in the USA) no right to use bluelight.

Thats why because the law makes problems theoretical exist in the most large cities a Child Emergency service but practical it is blocked or complicated to form cause of strange Law Matter

And the last what I had heared, was that munich also gave their NAW away and changed it to a Ambulance because Bavaria or better the enjurences make trouble to pay a doctor where only paramedics would be enough. (like small accidents, or such things)

Ah, didn't know that last bit. I just remember seeing a short documentary about a doctor on a NAW in München.

Sad but understandable that volunteer pediatricians can't use blue lights. Anyone using it should receive special training, or they risk causing an accident themselves. There is a reason that most NEFs have drivers.

sorry I wrote it a little wrong, my english isn't perfect.

I meant it so, they are maybe doctors in a Hospital in the pediatric station for example and drive voluntary in that time they haven't much to do in that station they go down to the EMS and go standby for Calls with children.

usualy it wasn't a problem if they stand a NEF with a driver for him than, in my hometown they tried it so

and they got problems because the insurence say: "Emergencies with Children mostly not direct a emergency situation so there is no need to use blue light" or as citate from a local Director of the "AOK (health insurence): "Kindernotfälle sind meist harmlose Kleinigkeiten und keine Gefahr.
