"Understood, attempting to call"

**I upload the detailed floorplan to the EAT.**

*walks over and looks at the floor plan and makes an image in my head of what the plan of attack is. I think to myself alright sneak in through the office door and make entry to the main area and creap around the isles and corner in the suspect. Easier said then done haha*
'Alright sounds good thanks Bucello I guess I'm making entry with y'all, just let me know how you want to do it and I will be right behind you'

"Any luck DC??"

"This is PC-2, I'm moving to check out the second door at the back, I haven't got eyes on, may be an assault route." I said into my radio, grabbing my equipment, and walking away slightly, to then sit down, hiding behind a small wall, watching the back side, which was suprisingly bland, just the rear office door and a small window behind a chair. "Can we get some optical aids out here, I can't see into the window without being shot at if there's a man there." I transmitted again, as I started to settle down to watch for a while.

**I go back to the RRT truck and search through a storage box. There are some scopes, red dot sights, and two pairs of binnoculars. I take out a pair.**

'By the way, we should be careful about making entry. There's a chance that the suspect locked the back door, and since it's mostly made of metal, we'll need either explosives or a shotgun to get in. That's going to make noise and probably hurt the hostages. We should continue to try negotiations.'

(Wait, what, you godmodding me, or what, because I'm hiding behind some cars and stuff, trying not to get noticed.)

(He isn't shooting at us, and we're quite a distance away. He would have to shoot past two rows of gas pumps and a row of police vehicles. Besides, he knows we're here; we should be OK as long as we don't approach the building.)

(I'm not quite a distance away, I'm barely 20 odd yards or that from the back door, hiding behind one car. I can hardly start running all the way around the front, grab some binoculars and then come back, in case they leave.)

(So why did you ask for "optical aids"? The back door is solid metal and there are no windows. I'll change my post.)

(Window into the office, you know what, let's not care, I'll just waltz up to the door, blow it over with you using my godmod powers and then make the hostage taker drop his weapon with the force.)

(Calm down. I changed my post; everyone stays in place for right now while we wait for COPA to negotiate.)

(It was a joke, but I'm being misinformed on everything, I've been sent to watch a building with a solid back door, and not many windows, I originally thought there wasn't a back door, and, blargh, irritating, conflicting command and information)

I call into the cell phone, calling on every bit of wisdom I can to talk this man out of it, we aren't getting that great press right now and I could really use some help here

"Hello?"
"Hello, I'm from the ERT Hostage Negotiation Team. My Name is Dave, I'm here to try and figure out a way for you to come out of this perfectly fine."
"Go F*ck yourselves, all of you. Call back when you've got something to offer"

"You've got 6 seconds before I shoot the phone"
"Alright, I'll make a deal in exchange for your name"
"4 seconds, I'm Tyler"
"Alright Tyler, I'm Dave-"
"Good for you Dick, I mean Dave, 2 seconds"
"Right now you're facing charges of armed robbery, hostage taking, and resisting arrest. I'll drop the robbery and resisting arrest charges, meaning the most you can get for the level of crime you're doing is 24 months, eligible for parole in 12. Right there off the bat. I'll work better if you work with me."
"Alright, sounds like aload of shit to me, how about you tell the men surrounding to all step back off the lot. And I won't kill Janet"
"Okay, who is Janet?"
"The cashier, and I thought you were supposed to be intelligent. Guess you're just a waste of tax dollars"
"Alright Tyler, I'll tell my teams to move back off the lot and you agree not to shoot Janet. I'm willing to work with you. I'm going to hang up and call back when they're moved back, but if you want to call me, just press 1 and hit talk."

I put down my phone reciver, and call the on scene command.
"COPA to OSC, please remove all units from the concrete lot. Anyone out of sight of the building windows, stay put, everyone else, get back. OSC, check EAT"
Over EAT I transmit a totally secure announcement.

In the RRT, there are rifle holes and tinted windows. If you get in back, you can set up a rifle and take out the hostage taker if he gets bad. Everyone else, just hang back. Move your cars back, stay clear. Have everyone else that's not manning the rifle get out of sight and gear up for a rapid entry. There should be a crowd cleared launcher back there. If you put in a gas canister or flash, that can shoot from a good 100ft and break the window, putting the grenade inside.
I want all patrol officers not already assigned as part of the entry team to make sure they have their vests and tactical scene clothes on(vest, shotgun strap, baseball cap, and earpiece/mic for radio)
We're gonna try to talk him out, but worst comes to worst, I want you guys ready for a quick entry and takedown.

"PC-2 here, should I pull out or stay watching this rear door, over?" I started to move back further, transmitting on the radio, I was unsure, and wanted clarifying. I really had very little to watch in my position, but I could slow him down if he tried fleeing from the rear.

*Walks over and gets into UMC-1 and starts it up and moves it away from the building. I park it around the block and walk over by RRT so I can go in with the entry team*

'Alright I'm back Bucello and Bridgewell we just going to hold off a bit?'

"If you aren't in sight, stay put."

'Yeah, we should move out of sight.'

**As I move away, I go to the RRT truck and submit two plans via the EAT.**

SNIPER POSITIONING PLAN


'We don't have a designated marksman; who should position themselves as the sniper?'

"PC-2 to TAC, suggesting you don't try and breach via the rear door. It seems risky if it's looked, don't know where the civilians are. You can try and flush the men out the rear door and have ambush teams to take them out. Over." I kept watching the door, behind there could be more civilians, or worse, dead civilians.

'It also seems kinda risky going through the front door also but there TAC so they know. I would rather see what the back door situation is.'

"Building plan seems to only have the one exit, the front. There is nothing of worth in back, according to the owner, so everyone would be out front. It should just be the single gunman, and if it is, we can take him out in a single entry if needed.

"Copy that, PC-2 will stay on station for five more minutes, then I'm heading back to my squad car unless TAC overrule." I was crouching, my legs going numb, it was cold in my police uniform, but not as cold as it would be if I'd not been wearing my jacket at the time.

"They're back. Is Janet okay?"
"Why's it matter, she's just another pawn"
"Pawn?"I say thinking tis is something more. Maybe he's just mental "Janet has a husband, and two children."
"That case, she's dead. Maybe thye can feel what I felt"

"My mother was killed, why should they get one?"
"Well, think about how you felt, would you want them to do the same?"

"Units, be advised, suspect could be hostile, do we have a mark? Do not shoot to kill, shoot to injure, fire only if threat is deemed to hostage safety"

*I hear the transmission from COPA and decide to move back to the other officers. I crouchwalk back again, only straightening when I'm sure I'm out of sight from the gas station. I walk over to the TAC officers assembled by the RRT.*

'Allright, nothing new from my post. What's the plan now?'

'There not to sure yet Halls thats what were trying to figure out.'

"Is anyone on the sniper and have him in their sights? We don't have time to come up with an entry plan. That's a secondary goal. I need a sniper set up first. That's our fail proof plan. If all else fails, shoot to injure"

"Rodger I am set up aiming between his heart and shoulder it was a shot I was taught as an MP to take down someone who was a threat but not an immediate danger. Advise we need ALS crew on stand by or he will bleed out"

(Please bare in mind, for the sake of realism, that there is no "safe" place to shoot someone. There are large blood vessels and / or vital organs just about everywhere. And using a rifle, which is high-velocity, just makes it more likely to mortally wound the guy.)

(I know but it's one of the safer places to shoot someone hence me wanting ALS on stand by and it's better then shooting him right in the heart or head)

"Tyler calm down, we can end this right now. This is hard for you I know, just put down the gun and walk out of the building, no one is going to hurt you. I can promise you, that's your best bet right now."
"Or, I can kill everyone in this room, and then myself. Real simple, my pain ends, and I get to release one last vengence on you. Sound good Dave?"
"Tyler, you know you don't want to do that"
"You've got five minutes to come up with a reason for me to not do that. If I don't get a call in 3, I'm killing everyone"

"Units, high guard, we need the grenade launcher ready. Prepare to mobilize. Suspect is ready to kill hostages. See EAT for Suggested Attack plan. We've got 2 minutes to mobilize"
I quickly type in an attack plan
*EAT*
COPA calls, Flash bang fired, at same time, entry team mobilizes. Get in there right away. If suspect looks as if he is going to shoot or injure someone, sniper take out. We've gotta move quick to avoid casulties. Take him alive at all costs.
Roll out time in 75 seconds. Prepare.
(I'll initiate the call, then you guys move)

I sit back and hope they can follow my orders, and assemble in time.

**I ready the grenade launcher; the range finder is set to 100 yards, which will put a stun grenade right through the window.**

"Once I fire, we break cover and run in. If he draws a weapon, Cressler is to take the shot. Acknowledge."

**Acknowledgement floods the radio chatter.**

"Patrol units will maintain the perimeter. Fire on anything with a weapon that isn't in uniform. Detain anyone trying to leave. Acknowledge."

**Again, acknowledgement comes in.**

"Entry team, 45 seconds to entry."

**I check my grenade launcher and my M16-45; both are ready. Hopefully, our team is as well.**

(( I haven't been called yet Going to bed very soon, so I'll just arrive, and do the treatment tomorrow.))
* I pull up a safe distance from the scene, and get the trauma kit, drug bag and emergency surgery kit.
"EDRC on scene, staging a few hundred meters from the building, awaiting the all clear."

"Thirty seconds."

**I look around. Bridwell is behind me, ready to move in. A medical vehicle pulled in a few hundred meters to my right; hoepfully, it will not be needed.**

"COPA, are we going in on your order or at the end of the countdown? Twenty seconds."

"MY order"

I make the call
"So you've told your men to go home? If so I'd fire them all. They aren't listening."
"No, I told them they stay put and wait. I'm not having them hurt you. Or anyone"
I give the radio order silently
"What the hell does that mean! You're gonan regret this douchebag-"
In the middle of his insult, I hear glass shatter, and immediately pull the receiver away to hear a loud bang. They're moving

(Feel free to pick up halfway through my post, where you fire the shot or whatever, your choice)

**Two clicks on the radio - that's the order to fire.**

"Three, two, one..."

**I pull the trigger and hear the POP of the grenade launching. It sails through the window and a brilliant white light escapes from the window. A moment later, the sound reaches - it's a fairly loud bang for something that doesn't cause permanent damage.**

'ADVANCE! We're moving up!'

**I move to the gas station, covering ground fast. The suspect has rested his head on the counter, but he looks ready to stir...**

((Can another TAC member do something now, please? Or another ERT member? I don't want to godmod the whole raid.))

*I run up behind Bucello*
"ERT PD get down on the ground"
*We run in and the guy is in a daze*
'Cover me'
Walk over to the guy who is still stunned and cuff him

**I'm a little suprised - weren't the patrol guys supposed to be on the perimeter? In any case, the suspect is down and is being removed.**

Me: 'Ma'am, are there any more hostages?''
Hostage: 'Someone locked themselves in the bathroom when the guy walked in here; he hasn't walked out yet.'
Me: 'OK, thank you. Bridwell! Take her outside; have her wait in the RRT and we'll debrief her.'

**I go over to the bathroom door and address whoever may be there:**

'This is a hostage rescue! We're with the ERT! Open the door and we'll get you to a safe place!'

**No one seemed to acknowledge...**

**I was told by my sergeant to help yall out with entry**

((Hey, no worries.))

**I try the door, but it's locked. The other bathroom is empty. I identify myself again.**

Me: 'This is a hostage rescue! We're here to get you out!
Voice: 'GO AWAY! I don't want to die!'
Me: 'Stand away from the door; we're gonna get you out.'

**It looks as though I can get through the wooden door if I throw myself against it. I rush the door and hit it with my shoulder. The top hinge comes loose. I stick my head through the crack to show that I really am with the ERT. The man inside looks frightened.**

((Not sure that's the best way to deal with a man stuck in a bathroom, he could've had a weapon, but.))

"PC-2 here, moving up to the rear door." I jumped over the car, shotgun hanging off a sling on my belt. I ran up to the back door and looked it up and down, maybe they'd left it open, probably not, as I rattled the door handle, I could have blown the door down, but that would have wasted time, so I continued round to the front, and then climbed through the shattered window. 'Bucello, you OK there?' I asked, looking over at the TAC Officer, with his head stuffed through a door.

((He was a hostage who barricaded himself for his protection. If it was a gunman, I probably would've asked one of the patrol officers to take the hinges off with a shotgun.))

'Sir? We're going to get the rest of this door down and move you outside, OK?'

**He nods.**

'Jackson, you have your shotgun? I need you to bash off the other hinge with the back end of your gun.'

((I don't mean a gun, if you're trapped in a building with possible hostage takers, he might have bludgeoned you.))

'Yes.' I replied, turning the weapon round, ready to use it to bash down the door. As I started to use the rear end in an attempt to hit the door off. I looked at the man inside the bathroom. 'He okay Bucello? Find a first aid kit and check him for basic injuries, could've been injured somehow.' I finished knocking the door off, and then grabbed it, and pull it out of the way, allowing Bucello in.

**I make entry and look the person over. He doesn't seem bruised or cut, but he looks very pale.**

'Sir, I'm going to take your pulse, OK?'

**I put my index and middle finger on his wrist, which feels clammy. I get a fast pulse, about 100 beats a minute, but it's weak.**

"Can we have EMS here? There's a victim who has signs of shock."

**I turn back to the man.**

'Sir, we're going to get you outside, OK?'

'Sir, I'll grab some stuff for him, blanket, first aid, water, then we'll have to get the scene closed off, and find some evidence.' I said, half-ordering, half-telling Bucello what I was heading off to do, before I started to run towards my patrol car. I ran down to it, as it was few blocks away, and then stopped right next to it, opening the trunk of the car as I did, then quickly grabbing the first aid bag, containing the blanket and some other supplies, and a few bottles of water. I slammed shut the trunk and opened my passenger side door, shoving my shotgun into the rack inside, and then closing the door and starting to run back to Bucello with the basic kit.

* I walk to the patient, and administer oxygen.
((Sorry for the short post, I'm writing an essay.))

As I turn the corner with the medical kits, I arrive to see EDRC already on scene, helping out the victim. I still continue towards the ex-hostage, and drop the first-aid bag and water just by the door of the building, then crouch and start to talk to Kaizer, 'All ok, doc? Need anything? I ask, looking at the suspect, who seems to be looking better.
