YAY! We have a snow day here and I might be going sledding with my friends.

It's pretty snowy here too, it's 15 degrees F and with wind chill feels like 0 degrees F. But, i'm homeschooled so I am always home!

Its snowing down here too but I still have to go to school.......

I used to be hamoschooled but I missed being around other people so I asked my mom to put me back in school. I could've been in the twelth grade by now!!!

Same story as you Hannahan. I homeschooled for a while, but missed seeing my friends daily so I went to public school for high school.

Well, at least in homeschool I din't have to sit AAAAAALLLLL day!

Why are you homeschooled? Is there not a school around you or something? Still, now the roads are slick. We went to a park to go sledding today, but it was CLOSED! We decided to walk to the hill after talking to some lady that worked for the park. She 'didn't advise it' but she never said NO!

I got homeschooled just because my middle school was the absolute worst school I've ever been to, and my parents agreed. So I got homeschooled through eighth grade, then decided to try out the high school so I could see my friends daily again, and enjoyed it, so I continued going to the high school.

I live in a suburban town that's within 15 minutes of about 4 other cities, so there are plenty of schools around, but homeschooling was the easiest option at such short notice.

Oh, OK. Just wonderin why you were homeschooled. I wouldn't want to be, as I like a girl in my class and it would be boring without my friends, especially the ones that get yelled at, like in science. "EXCUSE ME!!! Would you like to go to the OFFICE?!?!?"

In my school it's: Hey!! You wanna get written up for insubordination?! Hehe, works every time!

The most yelled at class is my Biology class. It's funny, never fails to entertain. Here's the most recent argument:

Girl I sit behind: (to me) This is ridiculously boring.
Me: (To her): I know, it never ends.
Teacher: Do you two want to go to the office?!?
Me: Sorry.
Girl: Hell yeah we do, we want out of this class! (Starts packing up and walking.
Me (whispering to girl): Please keep me out of this.
Teacher: Hey, you want a Saturday detention for talking to me like that?!
Girl: Sure, I don't have anything going on!
Teacher: Now you're asking for two! How about showing some respect?
Girl: Respect me and I'll respect you! (Then she walks out)

Yes, this girls logic is kind of backwards in the arguments (Particularly with the respect part), but they're always funny.

I remember this from last year in science, involving my teacher and my friend Joe. (He always gets yelled at, but it's really funny.)

Joe: Mrs. McKenna, will we have any field trips this year? (he just talked without raising his hand)
Teacher: EXCUSE ME?!?!? Would you like to take a field trip down to the office?!?!
Joe: Will you shaparone me?
Teacher: NO!!

On an unrelated note, I'm bored out of my mind. Working the night shift (I work part time at a child mental health care institution). We're two people at work, but one sleeps, the others awake. Nothing to do here at night time. The one patient we have that lives here sleeps through the night most nights, and there are never any alarms from the other departments here. So I've been playing solitaire for 45 minutes now, and have won exactly 0 times. It's almost 5 in the morning here, at 07:30 I can leave. Then I'm going straight to the university for a mandatory first aid lesson, yay.

Anyway, just rambling here. 1,5 liters of coffee and little sleep will do that to you -_-

are you allowed to ride anything where you volunteer?

Yeah, I ride on the engine on all calls but I could ride on the Fire Medic (FD ambulance) while i'm in EMT class and after I get my EMT cert. If I ride for 2 years, I could ride on a specialty vehicle like a squad, truck, tanker, or (I think) with a battalion chief or EMS supervisor. What do you usually ride on?

right now i can only ride on the rescue squad(observer), the ambulance(EMT-B student), and the medic chase car(EMT-B student). in Febuary once i finish FF1 ill be able to ride the engine all opps and the squad FF only. but my the end of the school year if i pass every thing ill come out with FF1,FF2, Rescue tech, and EMT-B

Thats a good goal! I wanna get my FF1-3 and become at least an EMT-I before becoming a Henrico Fire.
