*I roll up the equipment doors and get out the hydrualic generator. I take it out.*

"10-4"
*I grab my jump bag from the passenger seat and jump out of the ambulance and jog over to RA-1, I get there and approach Botfish.
'Hey.'

'Alright. You guys ready to go out. Chuck, get that hooked up to this generator and we can head on up. Uh heya Jansen....can you pull a line for me. I know the pumper is right there but I don't want to take any risks.'
*I make sure my gloves are well on and I move towards the plane doing a quick size up of it.*

' ok im on it '
* i quickly run over to the squad to find something int he realm of clothing and find a pair of black turnout pants they are stuffed under a seat so i puck them up and put them on. *

'Sure Hannahan.'

*I carry the generator closer to the plane and set it down. Then I get the jaws and some hydraulic hose. I connnect everything and carry the jaws closer to the plane. I also hook up a set of spreaders.*

'Alright, everything's hooked up.'

'ALRIGHT! LETS GET STARTED!'
"Rescue 1 command to all units and COPA, we're starting extrication on the plane. Keep us safe here."
*I walk up to the door with Chuck and I try to open the hard door....no luck.*
'Alright Chuck, all yours.'

'Hey just in time. You can help us set up triage and quick there gonna start cutting'

"Botfish to command, I'm HazMat certified if it is a HazMat situation"

*I get out medical gloves then set out some tarps for triage*

"Triage almost complete"

'Let's finish up then we can take vics be ready

'Awesome!'

*I climb onto the plane and jam the spreaders into the door. I open them and watch the metal bend as I open the door. I move up the door until it's all lifted. Then I grab a halligan and pry the door open.*

'YES! Got it, let's head in.'

" Command cpies Botfish howver at this time there is no HAZMAT situation but I will advise over. BREAK Pump-11 command to Rescue 1 please advise on number of patients and Conditions there should be an estimated total of 10 but still unclear of that. "

* I look over at some of my crew who are making ground on the fire on the wings of the plane. *

' Good job u guys get in there and put it out, we gotta help the Rescue take some victims out after this fire is done. '

" Pump-11 Command to Pump-11 Matthews....How's the Chemical drum coming along? "

"EMS Command to M2, set up with us and cover triage. BREAK ro Fire Command, We need a HazMat team to set up Decon and cordon off the area."

*I grab the Start Triage kit, and put on the EMS Command Vest.*

"RA1 to COPA, please roll us atleast 2 additional Medics Code 3, and a HazMat team for decon of current teams on scene and victims."

" OSC to RA-1 Hutchison, this is according to the MSDS of the Chemical NOT a hazmat situation, No Decon is necessary, Area is being secured by TSD Fires are being handled. Prepare to start receiving burn patients over. "

*I take the nozzel and shut it down for now. I see that the foam has blanketed the barrel like snow. I take alook at the plane and open up the nozzel again to blanket the wings on the plane. I move the cloud of foam to the engine area to also blanket that sealing the hot engine parts from any large fuel source.

'Okay Tim, that should be pretty well covered.'

* I walk back away from the plane and over to Tim and Jack. *

' The main thing that the MSDS says for Diazinon AG600 is to keep it cool its Flashpoint is 180 to 220 degrees and can be totally controlled with water. It is an Untra Insecticide so dont start touching it lol. just make sure that barrell stays cool and I'll contact Public works to figure out its disposal after this is over. '

" OSC to Rescue 1 do You have that count on victims and conditions. BREAK OSC to COPA.....Cxl Hazmat team and inform public works they have an Unopened barrell of Insecticide that they need to pick up when this call is over. with the amount of water, foam and absorbant that we have put on and around it i Doubt it will be of much use anymore. "

* I finally get dressed and head over to the Rescue in the Planes fuselage. I see the team working to get inside and I walk over to help wherever I can. *
' guys can I help out. '

"Pumper 11, stand by. We have eight people here. We'll get them out ASAP."
'ALright Chuck, grab as many as you can. Florian, when you're ready, you come and take as many people as possible and you do the same Hank kay?'
*I'm the first to enter the broken up aircraft.*
'FIRE DEPARTMENT! Now I need anyone that can stand, to stand up kay? If you can't let me know and we'll get you.'
*Five people automatically stand up as soon as I announce "stand up" and there are three others stay sitting down and groaning.*
'Alright, can you please make your way towards the ambulances and they'll check you out there.'

"COPA to command, what's the situation?"

" COPA.....Pump-11 OSC we have 8 Victims reported by Rescue 1. they are about to begin Extration. Fires are beginning to become under control will advise further on them. the plane is secure as far as fuel and flames go however the surrounding brush is still a working fire. "

" Pump-11 OSC to Anders.....Jack can you go assist with Triage. Report to Cory and attach yourself with him. Tim how is the progress on the fire going?. "

* I walk back to the Engine and take off my air pack, stow it back on the rig and start walking towards the plane where i can already see a couple people from the Rescue making their way out of the plane. *

'Hey Probie (Hank), how bout you get working on that brush fire with TVFD? We got enough people in here. Mitch, take the older gentleman and help out with triage when you're done. Florian, Chuck, you're orders are the same.Let's get em outta here. I'll be your spotter.'
*I get behind Florian and wait for him to pick someone up.*

I pick walk over to a kid.
'Hey there, I'm FF/SAR Florian, how ya doin'?
'My leg hurts so much' He says, pointing to his left leg.
'Okay, think you can stand on it?'
'No, I tried when he said Stand up' He points to Hannahan.
'Okay, lemme carry you outta here'

I carry him out of the plane and bring him to triage.
I grab a yellow tag.

'Okay I'll be with the RA if you need me.'

*I jog back to the truck and grab my als bag. I take off at a jog towards the RA so I beat the crowd of people to the Triage area. I get there and am a little bit short of breath after running up hill. I find Cory and after I catch my breath I let him know I am his.

'Hey Cory I am all yours for now.'

"Rescue 1 to COPA, we have 6 patients off of the plane and two on at this time."
*I put my mic back on my shoulder and I keep watch over the rescue ops.*
'Doin' Good guys.'

"Understood, will a MCU be needed, or will you be fine at this time?"

"Fine at this time we do have thos additional units coming to. We'll keep you updated"

*I come out of the plane holding a victim with a broken leg and right arm. I go over to triage.*

* I hear Hannahan's Transmission and jog fast over to him next to the plane. *

' Hey John, what about the pilot and Co-Pilot? have they been brought out yet? '

'Oh woops, here let me check that.'

*I run into the cockpit and find the co-pilot and pilot. One of them is bleeding from the head, but is still concious.*

'Hello sir, I'm with the fire department. What's the problem?'
'My head hit the dash when the plane went down. By the way, I'm the pilot!'
'Ok, on a scale of 1-10, how much does it hurt?'
'Probably a 7 or 8, it's pretty bad.'

*I look closer and notice a huge cut on his head, just above his forehead.*

'Woah, you have a nasty cut there, is there a first aid kit here?'
'Yeah, I know. There's one over there.' He points to the wall and I go get it. I take out some cloth.
'Hey, this will help control the bleeding. Can you walk?'
'Yeah, I'll try.'

*He presses the cloth to his head and stands up. He's a little shaky, but he can walk. I look at the co-pilot.*

'Hey man, how are you?'
'Fine, I'm alright. I can walk.'
'Ok, come on out with me.'

*I bring the 2 guys over to the ambulance.*

*I walk to the squad and get the BLS bag out and wonder why I didn't have this before.*

'This might come in handy...'

*I head back into the plane and find the last person. He can't stand up so I head over to him.*

'Hey sir, I'm with the fire department. What's the problem?'
'Huh? Sorry I'm feeling a little out of it. I thought I wouldn't survive! I just a little shaken up...'
'Ok, any pain?'
'No, just a little shaken up that's all.'
'Ok, let's get you out of here.'

*I help him to his feet and we slowly move out of the plane.*

* As more people from the plane come out I head back in to check for any other people and I come across a child all the way in the back of the plane. It is a little girl who has a part of the rear seat pinned up against her leg, She is crying and calling out for her Mother. *
' Hello Madam my name is Hank im with the ERT fire Department. Can you free your leg at all.'
* She answers no and cries a little more. *
' Ok tell u what Im gonna lift on this seat can you do me a favor and scoot as far back as you can when i say so? '
* she says yes and I get into position to lift the seat. *
' ok are you ready? '
* She nods her head and I lift the seat off her leg. She begins to scoot back and makes her way out of the way of the seat. I let it down and immediatly turn my attention to her. *
' Ok u ready to get out of here. '
* I smile at her and through her tears she nods yes. I pick her up ever so gently and start making my way out of the plane. I walk out of the plane and off towards the EMS team. *

( had to baby sit the scene and make sure no fire came up from midnight til 4 in the morning, not it wasnt fun, haha)

' Tim I just heard that all the victims are accounted for. can u head over to EMS and see if they need any help. the TVFD have the Brush fires under control over here. Im gonna stick here just for the time being then I will join u guys at the EMS command post. '

Plane has been cleared of all Victims.

Fire on the plane is out however there if active fire burning in the brush around the plane. TVFD is handling the Brush fires for now and have Not yet asked for assistance with them. We have 2 ERT ambulances on scene

At this time I am requesting the MCI bus for additional support. the Chemical barrell is ready for Pick up by Public works as soon as they can get a crew out here to grab it. "

* I watch as the Vol. FD works the Brush around the plane. I walk up to one of the Captains to see if He needs assistance. *

' Im Lt Floan, do you need any of our units to assist with attack?. '

' Well if your guys have nothing else to do then sure, Our engines are poised around so it is contained but we could use the help i guess to get more agressive with it. '

' Alright let me see what i can do. '

" floan you nwant me to help TVFD, I can grab a couple rakes a shovels and start to tear the ground up"

* i walk over to the pumper and grab some brush tools and head over*

' Yea why not, Take Brondum and Van Der Water with you. '

" Pump-11 OSC to Pump-11 Colwell, report to the EMS Command post for triage support. I'll join you momentairly. BREAK Pump-11 OSC to RA-1 Hutchison. *I walk the victim to the ambulance.*

'This guys just a little dizzy and shaken up. Watch out for shock though.'

*I walk back to the squad and put away my medic kit.*

"Squad 1 to Floan, extrication is complete. Do you want us to help with the fires?"

*I watch as the victims start to come up to the triage area. I see the 5 greens.

*Okay, those of you who have been given a green card, please sit over here by the tarp with green written on it. You will have your heart rate and blood pressure monitered and can state any pain you may have. The men that will be helping you are John Colwell and Austin Botfish. Your cooperation would be appreciated.'

*I watch as I count 4 people sit on the green tarp. I then see the 5th person walking up the hill almost out of breath. I jog down to meet him and help him up the hill to the green area.

'Here sir, put this mask on until one of the EMTs says you can take it off, okay?'

*the man nods as I put a non-rebreather mask over his face suppling him with O2.

*I look back hoping nobody is sitting on my tarps. YES!*
'Nobody is on meh tarp.'
"Rescue 1 command to Pumper 11."

" Pump-11 OSC to Squad 1, Copy that Connect up with Matthews and his team and start assisting in fire attack. BREAK Pump-11...Go ahead Rescue 1. "

* I start watching as people continue to do as they are assigned to do and a tremendous sense of pride overwhelms me that we just rescued Every member on that plane and had NO fatalities. I start laying out the hoses on My engine to start putting them back on the engine. *

" Pump-11 OSC to Pump-11 Matthews, Use the Hoses from TVFD, Im going to start rolling these hoses and then i'll take the Engine over to the EMS Command post, link up with me there after the fire is out or when TVFD releases you and your crew. BTW the Squad is on its way over to you as well to assist you. "

"Do you have anyone available to help me with overhauling this equipment? Also, do you want to keep the chemicals here since the FAA will probably have to do an investigation anyway."
*I stare at the brush fire behind me and grab a spreader, unhook it and lug it to the truck.*

" That is a Negative on the personell Rescue 1 Im rolling my own hoses too, Once im done I'll come on over and we'll knock them out and yes we'll keep the Chemicals here for the Public Works department to handle they are contained and cool that's all that matters. "

* I finish putting a Crosslay back and find myself sweating like some farm animal. I wipe the sweat from my head and announce with great pride 1!!!! YES BABY IM DOING IT. LOLOL *

* i take my shovel and start to dig around the small fire line of burning dry grass and start to rake some of the other grass out of the way and stomp on the fire thats there*

Fires are under Control with Pump-11 and Squad 1 Supporting TVFD on the east side. There was a Chemical barrell which was unopened and only was Present in the area of the crash, that has since been secured and Public works has been notified for pick-up. I was about to Release Ladder 1 since they are no longer needed ( Actually never showed up 2 of 3 calls thats a bummer. ) and I was going to Clear Rescue 1 after they were done Packing up. Pump-11 and Squad 1 could handle with EMS. "

"10-4 keep current orders all units, Ladder 1 and rescue one available at scene."

* After sending the Message to raven I start up relaying the Crosslays until finally all 3 are done. Im sweating bullets and im physically drained. I get down off the truck, get to my door and grab a Water from under my seat. I take a LONG refreshing drink. I close my door then walk around and get into the Drivers side, Start it up and drive slowly over to the EMS center. I turn all the lights off except for the Hazard lights and get out. I see Austin and 2 of my guys working on the patients brought to them and I walk up to them. *

' Ok guys where do u need me?. '

'Thanks Floan, I'm gonna take one of those lines and get on the fire.'

*I grab one of the crosslays and drag it across the grass. Then I open the nozzle and begin supressing the fire.*
