Dumpster explosion in a Country Club

*As Tim and John walk toward the shop I look to the alley and find a black object about 3 and a half inches long. I pick it up and turn it over and see bone.

'I found it!'
I quickly grab a one time ice pack and a zip lock bag and put it in the bag with the ice pack. I quickly bring it over to the PEMS ambo.

'Here is the second digit, it is chared alot, but I here you guys have one of the top trama teams in the US. Good luck.'

*I hop off the back of the aambo and shut the door. The ambo backs down the alley and takes off towards the Hospital.
*I go back over to Colwell who is back to overhaul.

'Need any help?'

' yea jack, umm if you want to take this rake and start tearing it up, vand der water and myself can start to pack this line back up'
* i hand jack the rake and walk back over to the truck and shut my line down and take the pump out of gear*
* i open the nozzle to drain the hose*

* I watch the Ambulance drive away and hear their sirens start when they hit the street. I walk back over to the engine and start surveying what remains of the scene. The security guard walks up to me *

'Security: How was he when they left? '
' ME: well he was alive, thats all i know at this point.'
' Security: damn that sucks, poor kid shouldnt have been at that place at that time i guess.'
' ME: Yea im sure he feels the same way.........See ya. '

* I close my door and walk over to the rest of the guys who are busy cleaning up the scene and still checking for hotspots. *

' Hey John, can you and Van Der Water roll the line and get ready to go, we can take care of anything else here with an extinguisher or a Pi** Bag. '

'Got it Lt.'

*I walk back to the truck and take my helmet and coat off and put my pike pole and trash hook back up. I see Tim disengage the pump and walk over and bleed off my line and roll it up.*

'Well that wasn't too bad of a call.'

* I grab a broom from the side of the building and start to sweep the ground of all the left over Debris. *

' Hey guys when you are done packing our stuff up come on over and start helping me look for any signs of accelerants. '

' alright floan'
* i finish walking out my line and start to pack it back up in the cross lay with jacks help*
* i grab a shovel off of the truck and start to shovel some of the debris from the dumbpster off to a pile on the side*

*I take off my helmet, mask and SCBA, then my coat and put them in the back seat. I grab the Gatorade from the seat and chug it. I help clean up a bit.* "I call driving home!" *I finish cleaning up and get in the drivers seat waiting for the other guys.* "Pump-11 to COPA, we are just about clear. Do we have permission to leave the scene?"

( i dont think we're ready yet, and just out of curosity where in CNY are you?)
*I take a arm full of water bottles and gatorade bottles and walk over and pass them out to colwell, jack, and floan*
' here ya go boys, drink up'
* i drink my bottle dry and then set it on the bumper and go back to my pile and begin to sift through it*

( Wait a minute. first off Matthews is our driver, he is the engineer and I will clear us when we are ready to Clear the scene. you need to seriously read the other posts and follow what the others are doing. )

"Command, what's on the go there? I've gotten an unauthorized transmission you're ready to go?"

" copa from matthews, everythings good here, we're continuing overhaul, some one must of left their mic open"
' ugh floan, you think were almost done, i havent found any signs of any starters yet, how about you or anyone else?'

" COPA Pump-11 COMMAND, We are not ready to go at this time please disregard the last transmission, must have been a hot mike issue. Also be advised we have found no accellerants at this location, however given it was a locked and secured area and we have 1 victim with missing digits and an explosion I suggest sending at least 1 PD unit for report. "

"Sure, I'll get PPD Arson out here to investigate, to make sure that it doesn't happen again"

" Pump-11 Copies we'll remain on scene until they arrive. "

' Ok u guys we got PPD arson en-route They'll be here shortly so lets just finish mopping up and once they arrive and I give them a brief then we're outta here and back to bed. '

*I take a water from Tim.*

'Thanks Man! Hey Floan, Do you think we should rope off the area with some tape to keep people back?'

' Yea, might not be a bad idea. Im gonna go grab a water myself. '

* I walk over to the Engine, open my door and climb in, I grab a bottle of water from the cup holder and lean back. *

*I walk back to the engine and open a compartment to get out the baracade tape and corrden off an area around the dumpster until PD arrives.*

'That's done Lt. Need anything else?'

*I take the rake from Tim and start to move things in the dumpster. I get alot of melted plastic rope from the one time garbage bags. other then that just alot of chared and blackened soaking wet trash. As I sift through the trash I here a transmission we are clearing and look around. Then hear the disregard. I go back to tearing through the trash and looking for any signs of an accelerant. I don't find any and walk over to the Pump with my rake. I put it back and start doing a 360 when I remember I am not the engineer anymore (( )) I still finish my 360 and find we are missing a broom, then I see Floan sweeping. Tim walks up behind me and offers a gateraid and I take it very thankful.
'Thanks Tim, I was getting kinda thirsty. So how was driving big red?'
*I crack a slightly sad grin.

' haha, your welcome, and it was great, the whole 30 seconds of response time we had haha'
* i walk around the truck and start to close compartments that have all of the equipment in them already to get a better idea of what we still have out*
* i step up into the drivers seat and flip on the scene lights*

* I hear a door close and look over to see the Arson investigator arrive, i step out of the Engine adn walk over to introduce myself. *

' Good morning as it turns out lol im Tommy Thompson with the PPD Arson investigation division What do we have here. '

ME: Well nothing that I can see although im sure ur much better at discovering than I am, It was an explosion, only 1 man injured. a 2 digit amputation of his lt hand and burns everywhere, he is critical but en-route to ETC at the moment. I cant find any source but thats why we called you.

ARSON: so you did, well i'll take it from here. thank you i'll call you if I need anything else.

* He hands me his card, I put it in my pocket and start walking back to the engine. *

' Alright guys lets move out. '

* I climb aboard and secure my cover on the ceiling to the left of my head and put my headset on. *

" COPA, Pump-11 Clear returning to station. "

' Alright Tim when everybody is aboard lets go home. '

*I walk to the pump and get in. I put my helmet on my lap for the rife and put my SCBA back in its spot. Then I sit back and get ready to enjoy the ride. I pick up my acountiblity tag and put it back on my helmet as I am in the truck.
'I'm ready'

( who is Tim McGraw? oh please dont tell me you listen to country music. Tim McGraw is a country singer or Yodeler isnt he? and the answer is no, Hell no , no in a million years LOLOL. )

*i climb in the truck and put my headset on*
' alright everyone in?'
' lets begin the long journey home' i say sarcasticly
* i put the truk in drive and then slowly drive off around the loop and circle back towards the complex*
* within 30 seconds we pull into the complex as the gate guard opens up the gate and i drive through hitting the air horn twice*
* i pull in front of the station and flip the lights on and open the door as everone gets out to help me back it in*
