Welcome to the ERT Training Academy.
What is the purpose of this Complex?
The Training Academy, also referred to as TA was created to train primaryily officers of the ERT in different certifications, such as medical, fire, tactical and other certifications. The TA is also used by training officers to arrange special unit training, such as refreshers, new equipment training, or general teamwork excersizes. These are arranged through COPA with the cooperation of involved officers.
How does the ERT TA rank it's personnel?
The ERT Training Academy has four types of training personnel, ranked on the standard military officer scale.
Training Lieutenant - A part time position in which this staff member has received ample training in his field and helps out with training other officers in advanced techniques, however may not do their own classes, and are primarily emergency service workers
Training Captain - A semi-time position in which the staff member has received ample training in his field of work and has been assigned as training officer in it, responsible for ensuring training is up to date for all neccessary personnel. This person's main field is the training academy however they maintain their emergency service rank when they are not in a class
Training Major - A full time position in which the staff member has received ample training in their field and has served as a commanding officer in their field as well. This person only works at the training academy, and is responsbile for ensuring all personnel are up to date and all needed positions are trained well.
Training Academy Department Chief - This is one of three full time positions in which the bearer is responsible for overseeing all training and works within their division.
What is the Training Academy rules? How can I train?
Students may apply to certain courses for training. These will be advertised in the Class Schedule by their appropriate training officer. To enter a course, you need to be accepted by the TO for that course, and unless it is a distance course, you must be able to miss working time for those classes. Which means while a class is in session, ie monday, thursday and friday, you may not respond to any calls unless otherwise stated by the TO or a Chief Commanding Officer of the ERT, such as DCBurke. If you are not accepted to a class, it is because A the class is full, or B you are not qualified to take the advanced class.
Tests
Tests may be given in the form of a written test posted when the class material is taken down, and given a 48 hour time limit to submit, they may be given as a scene in the training academy scene area, or may be a combination of both. This is at the discretion of the Training Academy Officer.
How to be a TA Officer?
If you feel like you meet the requirements for a training academy position, you may apply through the District Commissioner
