*I unclip the portable from my belt, clip the extension mic to the antenna, then put it on a table next to the couch and turn it up loud so I'll wake up for a dispatch.*

Galligano, firstly, it's not your job to play moderator. It isn't aqccepted anywhere, so don't even try it.

Secondly, one thing that really drives me nuts is hypocrits. I'll add yet another reprimand to you're ever increasing list now for posting again in an IC forum when at a call... I thought I made it very clear the first two warnings. So make that another reprimand for ignoring direct orders from the DC.

Thirdly, it's none of your business where the new guys go. He doesn't have a unit appointed and even if he did, he isn't on it yet,m so he wouldn't be at that call..

And to the new guy, don't apologize, it's not your fault, you didn't break a single rule. Don'You only need to take orders from your superiors, and a cadet is not a superior to you.

Understood Dist. Chief, but since I haven't been assigned a role, I feel like a civilian until I recieve my role.

You've just been appointed, and like all ERT applicants, if you've been acknowledged as accepted just haven't received your credntials ((Your sig and avatar)) you are still considered ERT, just General Staff.

Now that the garage fire is under control, I suppose no one will mind if I relax here until a TAC call comes in.

I walk down to fill up my water bottle, get a new coffee and a donut to do me another hour or two in the COPA centre. It's already been 3 hours into this shift.

I step in, only to be greeted by the beeper of my pager alerting me to check with COPA, there's been another 911 reference call

I walk over to the donut box and help myself, stereotypical cop style, while I wait to hear what kind of emergency has been paged in.

*From my COPA command terminal of the main building, I activate the all unit alert red and blue LED lights in the main staff areas -- break room, meeting room and office floor*

*walk in, tired*

MAN, we botched that bus accident!

*I sit on the couch with a can of Dr. Pepper and begin reflecting on what I did wrong and how I can improve.*

I really should say "hi" to the new recruits.

*walks in the door, goes over and introduces myself to all the members in the room*

"James Bucello, ERT Tactical Division. You missed a nasty terrorist attack just now."

My names Bruce, FF/EMT on ladder 1, yeah i was monitering it sounded like a nasty call

*I walk in with a smile on my face and go up to Bruce.*

"Bruce! Wazzup?! I'm Chuck Davis. I was the medic on L1, but just got promoted to SAR. I'll be looking forward to working with you."

*I shake Bruce's hand.*

"ill be looking forward to working with you too....guess ill be takin your place as EMS on the ladder huh?"

"Yep! Whatever, I've still got my EMT certs and I got a promotion! Just do your job well, and stay on task. I think you'll do well."

"Bruce, knowing the way these calls come in, we'll need you doing every thing you can for Ladder 1."

*I sit back down on the couch, leaving a space for the new guy. I begin reading through a newspaper, reading the article they wrote about the bus terrorist attack.*

"Yeah, the EMT job is fun, and you're an important guy on the rig. FYI, Ewan and I drive. You get to drive on an SAR call, though. The most needed unit can't drive."

"That's what I like to hear. FYI, I'm mostly in a good mood almost all the time. And, I like to promote a positive attitude to make everyone happy."

*looks up from newspaper*

"Nice that you'll do your best. The Chief expects as much (as we found out the hard way)."

*sets down the newspaper for whoever wants to read. looks in the minifridge for some food, not seeing much.*

"Maybe I should get food. Isn't the FD eating right now?"

"Yep! I'm finishing up the burgers. Come on over."

*I turn off the TV and join Hanahan.*

"So, were you in any sports?"

"Uhhhh...."
*I put the tool back.*
"No. I wasss....I played sports but I wasn't really on any team in school or anything like that. I'm actually a Fire Explorer but you know that but I'm a crazy fire buff. I know a lot about equipment and trucks and things that other guys (firefighters in real life) didn't think I knew buuut..that's one reason why I joined ERT. I like firefighting."

"Hey guys" I say as I walk in. I put a box of donuts next to the coffee machine, take a cup of coffee, grab a donut and go sit in front of the TV. "Feel free to get one".

*I walk into the empty break room, get a orange sode from the vending machine, get the remote and turn on Comedy Central, grab my laptop and sit down at a table*

"Comedy Central? Alright! I love standup!"

*I set down my copy of SWAT Magazine - yeah, there's a SWAT Magazine - and watch Comedy Central with McGuire*

I walk in take my laptop out of the bookshelf. Then I look at CNN and see the top head line. "School Chemical Lab Exploded" I read it and see a pictures of squad 1 and BLS 1.

((Remind me that I need to make an EAS video for that))

I change the channel to the local news station. They have pictures of the ERT fire crew leaving the scene.

"Those guys in the firehouse are the hardest working people here at ERT, aren't they?"

"Yep"

Yes,yes we are. I say laughing

I laugh too.

"You bet! It's fun though."

"ALS is fun too!" I say enthusiacticly "Hey anyone want dinner? I'll cook"
