Break Room

This is the break room for police officers.

I there. Officer C. Marques reporting for duty.

I sit on the worn-out couch and pull out a notebook. I start drawing out basic plans for breeching buildings while I continue to wait for a call.

(Does the PD or TAC have any sort of shooting range?)

(I dont believe so, there is a shooting range about 2 blocks north and one west though. Ive been ther to practice a few times)

I pin the sketches to a bulliten board so that other officers can get an idea of the tactics. I walk over to the parking lot and get in my car with an MP5 and an M4A1 to practice at the public firing range.

I realize on my way there though, we've got an open firing range at the Training Academy. I'll head there instead.

((Why go to the public firing range? The TA has one too, and you're allowed to use that one,which is better ))

I return from the firing range holding a set of paper targets. My target for the MP5 has a wide spread of bullet holes.

"Wow, I need work on that gun."

My M4A1 has a better bullet cluster.

"I wonder if anyone else on TAC is willing to practice on the firing range. It's not the same going 'Lone Wolf'."

*I walk into the police HQ from the parking lot. I sit down at a free computer, log in to my account and start typing out a preliminary report from the details I gathered at the campus rapist case, it might be useful in a later investigation/conviction. I pause to go grab myself a coffe from the machine, then return to writing.*

"Heh, if people only knew that half the job as an officer is writing reports...", *I think to myself while typing away.*

*After finishing with the writing I walk into the police break room, sit down in a recliner chair and turn on the television to the local news channel. A live report about the county faire fire is on, I watch the ERT firefighters battle the flames... There's no one else around at the moment, nice to have a few minutes alone to gather my toughts.*

** I walk over to the firing range to try out our new UMP45.**

'Anyone else going to the range?'

*I slump down in one of the break rooms comfy couches with a fresh water bottle, after finally getting done with writing the reports I've been backlogged with.
I feel exhausted after the long drug deal call, so I just turn on the TV on low volume and sit half dozing off as the news go on about the recent development in the case.
I've removed my equipment belt and firearm, which is safely stored in the front desk with the shift sergeant. I rub my face with my hands and try to relax...*

*walks into the room and looks around
"Is dis da, em, da ERT Police DEpartment?"
((hello.))
"I is da, em, Candidate"

*looks around confused, and takes a seat
*falls asleep sitting at the couch

*Is waken up to the sound of his phone ringing.
*Looks down and finds it is his mother ringing him.
*Picks up the phone and begins to talk to his mother.
*Talks for about 10 minutes, hangs up and waits patiently for someone to arrive.

*I walk in to the break room*
'Hey Blanc I'm Corporal Linda nice to meet you. You ready to hit the streets for patrol?'

*Looks up
"Hello, Im Antoine, and da answer to your question is definatly yes hehe'

*Runs into the restroom, and is in there for quite a long time
*Flushes, washes his hands, walks and mumbles to himself

((Break room is fine, but maybe you should patrol a bit?)

*After Filing his report pays for a mountain dew soda, returns to his patrol car, and begins patroling again.
"PC-1 Patroling Near district 23"

(This is 1st person, you say I instead of his, he,etc.)

**I walk in and realize that I'm all alone. I got back a while ago from the service that was held for the sheriff's deputy killed in that hostage standoff, and I still have my Class A uniform on. I decide to go and change back into my field uniform.**

*After booking the suspect, purchases a bag of BBQ Lays Chips.
*Finishes the bag, trashes it and walks back out towards his patrol vehicle.

*I walk into my new break room in my Class A's and shout, 'Hello is anyone here Sgt. Cressler TAC reporting for Duty.'
*I guess since no ones around I'll go check out the vehicles and see what were working with here.*

'Cressler? How are you? I'm Lieutenant Bucello; me and Lieutenant Bridwell are your superiors.'

**Handshake**

'So, where were you working before you landed a TAC position here?'

'Good to meet you I'm a former Marine I was a K-9 Unit MP. I did two tours in Iraq and one and Afghanistan. On my last tour my dog fell and got hurt, I decided it was probably time for me to get out so when my tour was over I requested early release because by the time they could retrain me for a different position I would be eligible for Honorable Discharge. So, they let me go and I decided I wanted a position in Domestic Law Enforcement. When I got hired i started talking to the commissioner about starting a K-9 Unit. That dog was my best friend and I think it could bring a lot to the team.'

'Well, I certainly have great respect for veterans! This probably means we're going to trust you a lot more now - and we'll have some more leeway when devising tactics. I've spent most of my time on SWAT, and I acquired a lot of knowledge on weapons and police tactics. It's a different ballgame here, but I have confidence in you.'

'Yeah I've been told obviously the biggest difference in the military it's a lot more of shoot now and who cares about questions but as a Marine we are also very disciplined so I know how to control my trigger finger.'

((Cough cough, you got the purple heart too, not just your dog ))

'Well, a lot of what we have to deal with is people who are too reluctant to use force, so its good to know that you won't have that problem. I'm already responsible for one death and one injury - both times, our team was under fire - but I'm sure the stress of true war has no equal.'

'Yeah they used us for a lot of patrol in the city since we were running more of a police operation and the infantry had a lot less control over there trigger finger. I spent a lot of time looking at people they all look and dressed the same. Nine times out of ten the 14 year old beside you wouldn't have a gun but you always had to be on the look out for the one person who you would never suspect to suddenly pull and Ak-47 on you and we had a split second to look at 30 faces and figure out which 2 in the crowd were the bad guys, and if we couldn't figure that out we had to be smart enough to hold fire till we could get a clear shot. Killing civilians never looks good except at this new job everyone is a civilian even the criminals.'

((Evil thoughts - Civilians are mere casualties... If we have two bad guys... And one dies and say 6 civilians who happen to be the only witnesses? Well I'll just blame it on the dead guy, and we saved the other guy.. See, now aren't we great))

'Well guys it looks like I'm going to head home hope I don't see you till tomorrow' * I grab my keys and hop in my POV to make the trip home*

I pulled the Patrol Car into its parking space. I turned off the headlights just before I removed the ignition keys and put the car into neutral. I grabbed my jacket off the front seat and climbed out of the car. Slamming my door behind me, before locking it. I walked through the front door of the station, and headed towards the break room. I grabbed some paperwork from nearby and sat down, pulling a pen out from behind my ear, then started to fill out some of the forms.

*I pull up in the back of the station park my POV and hop head headed to the break room to start work for the morning. I think to myself what a shame I joined a little to late to help out on that arson call. I walk into the break room about the same time I see officer Jackson walk in through the front door. 'Hi how are you doing I'm Sgt. Cressler newest member of TAC.'

'Huh.' I muttered, slightly disturbed in the middle of filling out some forms for the arson job. 'Ah right. Officer Jackson, new member of the PD.' I slouched back on the chair, putting the paperwork next to me. 'Tea and chocolate digestives, since you're asking.' I chuckled, wondering if Cressler would actually do it, never worked before, maybe this time it would.

(do what? haha)

*I look over at the vending machine to find out what my breakfast is gonna be ah a honey bun looks good to me.

'When you want stuff done.' I muttered to myself, standing up and heading to the sink and filling the kettle with water. I grabbed some tea-bags and a mug, and the milk and prepared to make a cup of tea for myself. 'Hey, Cressler, cup of tea?' I asked, waiting for the kettle to boil.

'Nah I'm a coffee guy love it black and strong.'

'Suit yourself.' I said, pouring the hot water into the mug, dropping in the teabag, and then frantically searching for a spoon. I found one and started to stir my tea. 'Lovely.' I muttered, as I added a splash of milk, fished out the teabag, and stirred once more. 'Nice cup of tea." I said, addressing myself and Cressler as I took my first sip of the tea. 'Ah, damn.' I placed the tea down on the side, and grabbed the paperwork off my chair, rushing out to my patrol car. I'd overheard on the radio, a call out for a drunken man damaging vehicles on Southside lane.

* I shout, ' Hold on I'll ride with ya.'

'Alright, hurry.' I shouted back, as I checked the patrol car was ready, with all my standard equipment in it, and my jacket and paperwork as well. 'Get any gear you want in the trunk, and we'll go.

'I'm good to go I should only need my pistol if its anything bigger we got more problems.'
*I drop my honey bun and run to PC-2 and hop in the passenger seat.*'Lets Roll'

**I walk in just as the rest of the team walks out, and I have no time to ask what the hurry is. I see the tea kettle in the break room and remember that one of our officers enjoys tea. Luckily for me, so do I. I walk over, and the water is still hot. I pour some into a cup and look at the box of tea. Apparently, there's only English Afternoon Tea. I make a mental reminder to get more as I sit down, listening to the police radio chatter.**

*Soon after sumbitting his report walks out into the break room
*Makes himself a glass of coffee, and begins sipping on it.

* i get back in after that drunken and disorderly call hmm I thought I had a honey bun but I guess not. I spot a someone else I've yet to meet.*
' Hi Officer Blanc I'm Sgt. Cressler newest member of TAC good to meet you'

'Cressler, your food is still here - I just moved it off to the side.'

**I go to the counter and move Cressler's food out from behind the now empty kettle.**

'Ah thanks I couldn't remember I was only here for about 30 seconds before I left.
* I go grab my honey bun and sit back down*

'Nice to meet you to Sergeant, well ima go hit the roads again'
*Grabs his PD Jacket and starts heading out the door.

*I walk into the break room out of uniform with my duffel bag slung over my shoulder, service revolver in a civilian holster* 'I'm looking for Joe Libor. I was told to report here by the DC'
