Old Kleiner Warehouse Fire

"BLS-1 on scene, smoke and fire showing, we're staging at the corner."

*I pull up to the corner, shut off the lights, shut off the engine, grab a portable, grab the clipboard, and get out. *I go around back to get the stretcher and equipment out, and I can hear sirens in the distance*

Pumper-11 in route code 3.
I jump in my gear, get in the truck, start up and move out

*Looks out the window as the truck goes down the road, wonders how his first call is gona be.

We arrive on scene. I put my SCBA on, draw some crosslays, and hook up the supply lines. I grab a crosslay and start spraying at the fire showing near the doorway.

*Jumps out after Hannahan and suits up
*Thinks about what he is to do for a few minutes
*Follows Hann's doing.

"Hey Don, get another line for me. Spray water into there. "

I hear the sirens of Ladder 1 coming around.
"Alright, we got venters coming."
(Sorry I got mixed up with the people )

"Make a good size path so Squad 1 can get in."

*Connects a line to the pumper and begins spraying the area in which is on fire.

Ladder 1 responding code 3
*i flip on the lights and lay on the Q and the air horn as i pull out of the station*

Ladder 1 on scene, requesting assignment

I decide to drive this one and weave through traffic. We come to the parking lot and stop. I jump out and surrvey the scene.
"Davis, you take Mitch. Start on the east side of the building. Mitch you take an axe" I say as I attach a hydrant hose. "Jansen, you're with me, we're going to take West, you're going to be the axe man in our group. After you get to the orange oxygen level on your SCBA, start to make your way out, we'll stock back up and go back in."

"Ladder one, start venting and start and ariel attack on the structure."

*i put on a SCBA and then set down all the out riggers then raise the ladder to the roof. i then run a suply hose to pumper 11, grab a chain saw and axe and climb the ladder*
"ladder 1 to squad 1, do you think you can spare 1 man to assist with areal opps?"

"Negative, wait for a senior member to advise you."

"10-4"
*i move up the ladder onto the roof and begin ventalation*

"Bruce, get off the roof for god sakes. The structure's fully involved. If that collapses, your going down, and we don't need that. Wait for further instructions."

**RADIO**
"Hey Raven, hows it looking on that side of the building?"

((You guys should have waited for orders from me or mcevoy, raven already pointed that out...))

*i move back down the ladder*
"ladder one awaiting orders"

(He's not osc though. It's McEvoy, I'm Deputy [which keeps changing]. I guess since he's not here yet, i'll just command interior and exterior attack. But yeah, it's not a good idea to go on the roof of a fully involved structure.)

*i repostion the ladder high ubove the structure, climb up the ladder aim the master stream at the flames comming through the roof*

"Raven, I'll get a line set up. Should I run a supply line from the pumper?"

*I start to roll hoses off the truck and get out my SCBA gear.*

"You guys can take a line from the hydrant, you don't need to connect up to us. We're already feeding 1 unit as well as our own."

"Alright. Raven, Mitch and I are goin in."

*I get the hydrant wrench and connect a line from it to the squad. Then I throw on my SCBA gear and wait for Raven's signal.*

"Alright, Mitch, you ready? Raven, just tell us when we could go in."

"Raven, when you send your guys in, have them watch the roof. It's looking bad from out here."

"Garcia, can we enter? Mitch has the ax and I've got the hose."

"Roger that Garcia. Alright crew we're moving in!" I say and put on my SCBA.

*i notice a section of the roof flair up and move the nozzel over a nock it quickly*

Fire OSc, what's the situation?
SAR Capt, how's it going?
EMS, have you checked out the RP yet?

*I trough on my SCBA and walk around the building with an axe I got from the Ladder knocking out windows*

*i keep the water spray moving across the roof is a zig zag pattern to keep the fire knocked*

*I finish my walk around the building with an axe and await further instruction*

"Squad, don't enter. Negative on entry."
(Anders brought it to my attention that there's oxygen tanks inside the building.)

"Garcia to COPA, fully involved structure with possible explosives/flammable materials. Too much heat to vent on the roof, too dangerous for entry (unless they want to risk it). Unknown if people are still inside. Exterior has fire showing with heavy smoke. Interior is more than likely fully involved."

"Garcia... there comes a time after work when you want a 20 topping piza for $30, but you know you can't, that's why I get danger pay. Cause I want taht pizza. And somewhere in that building is a man, and he may be dead, but I am obligated to go in there and search for him, and that may include losing my life. But I'm going in there, cause after this I'm going to be pretty hungry." I say. "Just keep the fire off my ass and maybe you'll get a slice."

((Lol, one day I will order you a pizza from where I live mate and before you ask, yeah I've been in a fire that involved the storage of oxygen.))

"ladder 1 to command, be advised that i am seeing signs of instability in the roof"
*i continue to spray the flair ups*

*Somebody walks over to me, his body is red, and he is sweating. I begin to get the blood pressure cuff out of the jump bag*

"You from the building?" I ask

"Yeah, I reported it, there's still somebody in there!" He replies

"Alright calm down, we have Search and Rescue going in for him. Take a seat on the edge of the ambulance floor here, I want to check you out."

*I take the blood pressure. 180/100.*

*I take his pulse. 155*

"Are you having any difficulty breathing?" I ask

"A little bit. I assumed it's just from the smoke."

"Alright, I'm going to put you on oxygen."

*I roll the stretcher back into the ambulance, and raise the back.*

"Lay down on the stretcher here."

*He lays down, I put him on oxygen.*

"I'll be right back sir.*

*I step outside, and go around the side of the ambulance.*


(COPA)
"BLS-1 to COPA. Have ALS-1 come down to the fire scene. I have the one building worker, blood pressure 180/100. Pulse 155. Reporting difficulty breathing, I've got him on oxygen."

*Continues Spraying the building the left side as hann sprays the right

"They might be goin' in soon so if you see any flare ups near them, try to put them out."
*I get behind Squad 1 and keep spraying.*
"Alright guys, you got a clear path so be careful."
*I tap on their backs and back up and spray more.*
I get on the deck gun and start spraying the roof.

"Alright Davis, ready as i'll ever be. Lets get this guy out of here!" I say through my SCBA

*I fire the deck gun on the roof as it hisses back and as smoke plumes out.*

"ok hann"

I get on my SCBA and get an axe "I'm set, let's go and get him out of there!"

*I keep the mater stream flowing across the roof*

"COPA to SAR, I do realize that there is a high risk entry, however it's your choice to enter or not, be advised all oxygen tanks are located in an area where fire has not reached entirely yet, so any doors that are opened, please shut to try and slow the fire while you guys search. I sent you in, because that's your job. We've got victims in there, if you deem it safe enough to enter and not be injured yourself, COPA clears you"

"COPA to OSC, what's the status on the structure?"

"Alright Garcia, you'll get your share. Alriight guys let's move in." I say. I look at the onlookers and at the fire, the massive flames curling onto the roof from the side windows, and the hellish scene that awaits us inside. Some barrels of weather sealer outside burst into flame adding to the mess, the crowd of people look at us as we start to go in the building. "Jansen, you're with me. Mitch and Davis you guys go and check the office area, we're going to check the warehouse floor."

"Let's go" I open the outer door and enter the warehouse floor. "Where is the last place he was seen?" I ask Raven.

"Leads on scene, please advise if additional man power is needed, I just received notice from the IR Fire Captain that they are all available now, and on standby at the station, so ETA for roll out would be 5 minutes if you want backup"

((Please note, if you take backup, this will still be a big fire, and eventually you'll have to enter unless you wanna watch it burn for hours and hours and hours. Backup just will help, again, at your discretion))

I watch them go inside and keep spraying through the smoke.
