Possible Sinkhole

* I Slowly walk to the hole. I look down and see Babcock already at the bottom. I help position the ladders down into the hole. When the ladders are in Position I slowly slide myself into position then start to climb down into the hole. I start to look down and around as I climb down and see all kinds of Pipes severed everywhere, small spot fires are evident in areas going down the hole but very small in nature and can easily be put out. *

* I reach the bottom and take a deep breath being thankfull that i made it down. I see Babcock starting to chek the cars that are visible for people and I walk over to start checking until the rest of my crew come down. *

' Eli, can I help you anywhere. '

' Alright Jack it looks like Stanleyis down inthe hole right now, Get ur ass down there and find out what we are looking at. Raven will be down there too shortly im sure. '

* I walk back towards Jamie who is still settin gup for patients. I take my turnout coat off and toss it on the ground near the blankets ans start helping to get the Medical supplies ready. *

*I nod at the Lt. as I climb on the ladder and feel it wobble, I remember suddenly I'm not a fan of ladders. I push the thoughts from my mind as I decend the ladder to the ground where I find Eli and Raven.

'Okay guys lets get this done.'

*I look around and see one car that nose planted the ground and the crush fram collapsed. I also see the body lying forward. I see another that is on leaning against the first one's roof. I go up to the first car and see the person's head his bashed, but it apears to still be in one peace.

'Head truma, car 1'

*I quickly move to the second car where I find two people. They turn to look at me as they hang in their seats.

'Are you guys okay?'

(Women in passenger seat) 'Yeah, I'm fine, just sore from this belt!'
(Man in driving seat)* Moans* Yeah, but this steering wheel is killing me.

*I look at the steering wheel and it's pistion, it is jabbed just below the Xiphiod Process.

'We have two awake over here, Raven your choice on who we remove first'

" Pump-11 Command to Pump-11 Anders. Status report Please. Do you need further equipment?. "

"P-11 Anders to P-11 Command, We have three vics in two cars. One red, one yellow, and one apears to be green at this moment. We will need a stokes lowered when ready"

'Okay guys lets get the red out first so we can see what we need to get him out of here. I am going to see what I can do now.'

*I go back to the first car with the head injury. the back door is jammed from the weight of the secon car compressing it. I walk around and find just enough tilt on the cars to open the rear passenger door. I ipen it and crawl in. I get to the man and see profuse bleeding from his left pearital area. I reach down by his neck and search from a pulse I find one, but it's weak. I estimate the pressure at around 60ish, his pulse is at 53 BPM.

'Someone hand me my ALS bag!'

" Copy that jack, Raven is gonna coordinate rescue efforts down in the hole. We'll send down a couple stokes to start. "

' Nick, can you grab 2 stokes and some rope, have Van Der Water help out with it. we need to send it down to Jack and the others. '

"Rescue 1 to COPA, advise if you need us to respond to that sinkhole
with the Pumper and Squad. We're done here and the car is being towed."

"Understood, contact Captain Raven to determine"

'Casey, drop the line and let us get those stokes, I'll get the rope and a stokes. You get the other one.'
*I run over to the pumper and get the ropes and a stokes.*

"Rescue 1 to Squad 1, would you like us to respond?"

"PC-2 to COPA, do they need police at the sinkhole?"

( We dont need a ton of people on this call. We have only as of right now 3 people trapped. )

( I know I jsut wanted to get that out there before we have several PD units then more EMS then next thing u know we have more units then we can handle on scene lol. although this would sort of be directly up your guys's alley being an actual rescue and all. )

"Negative on police or rescue 1." I say as Colwell get's down the hole.

"Floan get me an extinguisher and a trauma kit. I'm certain there are no flammable gasses down here otherwise this hole would be filled with fire. Also where the hell are my airbags and K-12. Stanley get ready to cut open that roof.

*I walk around the car to where Jack climbed in.*

'What'd'ya need Jack?'

'F***!' I say letting the mic button go.*
"Rescue 1 copies. COPA we're back in service returning to station."
'Dammit Ewan.' (I aint mad but my character is lol)
'Hey Mitch, lets just pass by that street. I wanna see what they're doing?'
*I sit back as we start to quietly ride over there just to check it out.*

"Rescue 1, please return to quarters for scheduled maintenance"

(You messed me up lol)
'Everyone is just working against me today. First the damn car randomly explodes then....'
"Rescue 1 to COPA, we copy."
'Mitch,, lets just head to the station.'

"PC-2 recieved, COPA, I'm on patrol"
(I only asked because someone said there were sheriff's deputies, and then someone else said something about the PD handling something, so just wanted to make sure.)

" Pump-11 Command Copies Raven. "

* I walk over to the Engine and grab an Extinguisher and walk it over to the Rope where Brondum was lowering supplies down. *

' Jamie grab another of your ALS Bags and attach it to the line going down into the hole. '

' got it cap im ready when u are. '

* I look over the Vehicle that needs the roof taken off of it and decide my cutting points. I look up and see the Stokes and some other equipment coming down on a rope. *

*Grabbing my gear I hop into my jeep and start driving to the sinkhole*
" P-11 this is Bender(the new guy) enroute eta will be 10 minutes"

""OSC, I just checked out some USGS reports, there appears to have been a cave or something in this area when they did their scans, but they don't have much on it here. I'm trying to get a hold of the team that investigated."

' Pump-11 Command copies Bender. "

* I Survey the scene from above. The Hole looks massive, several cars around the area have now stopped and people are getting out to look at the hole. I yell at them to stay back as the Sherrif's dept finally shows up. They get out and imediatly take control of the forming crowd. I feel a little better as the people as pissed as they look finally start to drive off. More Sirens are heard in the background and the TVFD pulls up on the opposite side of the road than us. the Cpt. gets out and comes over to me along with 3 other Firefighters. I start laughing as I recognize all of them from the housefire. they in turn start laughing and 1 in particular shakes my hand and htanks me for in essance saving his life. I nod and give a humble reply before starting to outline the Cpt. on what has gone on and what we know at the moment. He nods then starts to disperse his men. *

" Pump-11 Command to Squad 1 Raven. TVFD is on scene. How's the extrication coming?. "

"Waiting on the roof, getting the door off now." I take the pack off and connect the hose that Colwell hands me. I tie it in, test it, flip down my visor, and start cutting.

* Running up to the Pumper*
'LT where do you need me at?'

(Sorry Burke was trying to think of something since the call was going before I created my account and got assigned was the best I came up with.)

*I get my bag and take out a c-collar. I place it around the man's kneck before covering him with a blanket to shield him from any glass or metal.

'Okay guys we are ready'

" Copy Raven, advise if supplies or additional manpower is Needed. "

* I Turn around and see The New probie running up *

' Its Reagan isnt it? Well nice to meet u. On this call its gonna be a little different than the normal ones because so little manpower can fit into the hole at once so for now lets get u hooked up with some gear. '

* I take the new guy over to the Engine and open the rear cab doors. I Flip up a seat to reveal some spare turnout gear. I hand it to him. It looks around his size but for now it is gonna do. *

' Here Reagan, This should be good for now. If it doesnt fit dont worry abot it just throw it on for now and we'll get u some gear when we get back tothe house. Once your dressed come and see me I'll be over withthe TVFD crew. '

' Yeah its Reagan'
*I take the gear and throw it on atleast it will work for now. I walk over to the TVFD unit on scene*
'Good to go LT'

' Alright Reagen, for now just hang out over there with FF Brondum on the 2" line. Once the victims are out Im gonna have you assist the EMS and FF/PM Anders with treatment. '

* I pat him on the shoulder then walk back towards the hole to checkon the progress from above. The TVFD Captain walks over to me. *

TVFD Cpt: Hey john what can my guys do further.

ME: Nothing much right now Mike, If you wanna call to maybe get a crane in here that might help if needed to get these cars out of here.

CPT: Sounds like a plan to me.

* Don brings over the ALS Kits and I set them up ont he ground next to the blankets in preperation for the Victims. I stand back up and walk over to the Ambulance to grab a coat from behind my seat. *

" Central Medic 2 will be switching to COPA Frequency Unknown at what point we will be switching back. We will advise. "

* As i walk back to the staging area I cant help but notice all the new faces around from the Fire Department. I get back and comment to Don. *

' Wow have you seen all the new guys Fire has now? 3 I think. thats good. '

'No, but it sure is good to have some new faces 'round here.' I begin looking around, not really noticing the new guys.

*The door is cut out on the first car and Eli puts in a ked to remove the vic. Together we lift and slide the man out and I can see the Gauze is already starting to bleed through. Hank brings over the Stokes basket and we place the man in and tug the rope to be hualed up.

'Okay guys when you are ready, make sure you stay together.'

"P-11 Anders to OC EMS we have a red with severe head truma coming your way."

*After helping Jack and Hank package our red, I assist with fixing the lines onto the stokes*

'Where do you want me Jack?'

((Yes because I didn't need to open other doors or anything oh well for the sake of time... No other vics let's wrap this up. I'm a sad panda this didn't go down well.))

"Check the other cars guys."

*I hear Captain Raven tell us to check the other cars, so I start checking cars. I search 3 without any results.*

'Hey Cap! I checked the green sedan, red sedan and the white pick-up. No results so far.'

* I hear Brondum yell that we have a victim on the rope ready to be pulled up. I run over to the rope and see the victim on the stokes *

' Ok Reagan, Nick Lets pull him up. Casey Kill the line and start rolling it back up. '

" Pump-11 Command to OSC Raven, we have 1 Victim on the stokes and we are ready to pull him up. Please advise on further victims. "

* I grab a hold of the rope and all of us start lifting him up slowly but surely. *

( O.K Reagan, Nick I want 1 of you whichever posts first to finish pulling the victim up and hand him over to EMS for treatment. Reagan remember after the victim is up your attached to EMS to help them out with him. Make sure the posts are detailed on pulling him up including conditions of the victim when u start to see him and how you remove him from the stokes etc etc. just make it as detailed as possible. )

*I watch as the basket is hoisted up making sure it dosen't tip. I turn to the guys in the hole and see John, Eli, Raven and Hank.

'Okay guys lets get to the second car. We have two victims upside down, one with a possible abdomin injury. So we need to watch that along with head injuries. Lets get this done.'

*I walk over to the second car and start talking with the couple inside.

'Okay guys, we are going to get you out of here now okay. We are going to get these doors off then carefully cut you out of your belts okay. Then we are going to check you out.'

*I watch as the stokes is being raised and start to see the patient more closely. I start trying to talk the patient*
' Sir can you hear me? can you hear me?' no response *I look closer and I see he is not moving*
' Guys I think he is unresponsive'
* The stokes reaches us and I pull the head end out of the hole to stabilize it and I unhook him from the stokes from the line and I pull it all the way out*
' Can I get a hand and someone grab the other end he's going need to be put on a board and I do not want to compromise any Spinal injuries. We need to hurry and get him over to EMS'

' Yea I got u reagan. '

* I help Nick tie off the rope then run over to help with the stokes. reagan and I carry it over to Jamie and Don. We set the stokes down collapse it away from the patient and give the Patient over to the EMS crew. *

' Jamie im right over here if you need me. Reagan why dont you help the EMS team out and get a good set of Vitals on him. '

* I head back over to Nick who is still working on rolling the rope up. *

' Nick I'll take care of the rope. The rest of the guys are going to be bringing up what seems to be 2 Green victims, just help them once they get to the top of the ladder and we should be able ot clear after that. '

* The TVFD Cpt. comes over to me *

Cpt: John the crane is on the way but they have a serious delay in their ETA Something to the extent of i think 3 hours.

Me: Oh no worries we'll be long gone by then i'd keep themcoming though Cap. just to help out public works to get this cleaned up.

Cpt: yea i figured as much. take care John we're gonna clear.

Me: Alright cap take care i'll see u on the next 1 im sure lol.

* The Captain and I shake hands and he and hismen load up then clear from the scene. I grab my turnout coat from next to Jamie, put it back on along with my cover and walk back towards Nick to finish winding up and rolling the rope. *

*After checking a few of the cars (I'm trying to visualize how many we have, but several people have said several different things, sorry guys...), and fiding nothing, I see Jack talking to two greens. I head over that way to offer a hand.*

'Jack, what d'you need? KED? C-collar?'

" Pump-11 Command to Pump-11 Anders requesting status report and FINAL patient count. We have 1 ambulance only here at this time. "

* I shake my head at the confusion going on down there, wishing I could get down there. I think about the next move for a minute before jumping on the radio. *

" Pump-11 Command to COPA.....Respond me 2 additional PEMS Ambulances to this location for BLS transport please. "

'Right'
* I grab my stethoscope and B/P cuff and start taking vitals*
' Blood Pressure: 70/40, Pulse: 40 and thready, Resp: 9 and shallow, eyes: Unequal and slow to react'
* I look up and made sure they got the vitals down*
' Let me know what I can do to help you guys out, I think they are bringing up two more patients that are still entrapped'

* I look up at the Fireman giving me the Vitals. I make a face in sort of shock. *

' Are you sure your just an EMT? not a Medic and if not why? '

* I grab a bag of Ringers out of the ALS Kit and start TKO. Don begins to cut the mans shirt off then I attach the EKG leads to the patients torso. I hook up the monitor and turn it on. *

' Umm Fireman. Im sorry there are no names on any of your clothing, start him on Oxygen please by mask at 90% '

' Don do me a favor and look for his wallet, find out who this guy is and if he has any med conditions, I dont see a bracelet anywhere but u knwo how that goes '

* I walk back over to Jamie, Don and Reagan who look to be calmly yet quickly working on the patient. I look down at the Monitor and then at the patient again. I look at Don's Notes Don has taken from Reagans last Vitals on the patient. *

' Anything I can do to help u guys out, everything over there is pretty much under control at this point. '

* I kneel down next to reagan who looks right at home. *

'Its alright my name is Reagan Bender i am the new guy on the Pumper and to answer your question I am currently waiting for my Medic card and I use to work as an EMT before I moved here'

* I grab there small bottle of Oxygen and set it up and grab a non-rebreather and put him on the oxygen*

' Sure John can you grab me your Drug box please. '

* I reach over to the Drug box that the Pumper crew has provided and grab a vile of Atropine. *

' Don he is Bradycardic make a note im givng him .5 mg Atropine please. '

* I administer the drug through his IV then wait for the spike in his Vitals. *

' Umm Fireman, im sorry reagan can you take his Vitals again please. and Im Jamie its nice to meet you. '

'Alright will do'

* I start taking vitals again*
' His B/P: 110/60 , Pulse: 60 still thready, Resp: 12 slightly shallow. Eyes are still unequal but are reacting'
'He starting to stabilize but I think he needs to go as soon as you guys are ready'

*After Jack evaluates the two greens, I look around. I don't see the stokes, and I'm pretty sure Jack doesn't want to send the victim with the suspected abdominal injuries up on the ladder. I don't want to bother Jack, who's dealing with the vic's, so I reach for the mic of my portable.*
