Domestic Dispute with weapon

14 N. Twin Road - Phoxlind

Traffic: Light, heavy pedestrian traffic
Time: 2103h
Weather - Cool, clear evening
Concerns - Lack of mutual aide available, high amount of civilian minors in area, possibility of weapon.

"ALS 1 on standby" I turn on the standby channel and wait for insturctions.

I flip my lights and sirens on going through intersections and press down hard on the accelerator as I fly through traffic en route to the scene, making sure no kids run out in front of me. I finally get to the suspected house and turn my lights off and park.
"PC8 is on scene, be out investigating (21:11)"
I get out of my cruiser and walk up to the front door. I knock on the door loudly with my fist and yell,"ERT Police Department open the door". I hear no movement in the house at all. I wait 1 minute then get my night stick out and hit the door even harder and say, "ERT Police Department open the door now" Again no response or movement that I can tell.

"PC8 to central were at the residence no one is answering the door, I am going to wait on back up before attempting to gain entry to the residence. Are the people that called in this emergency around anywhere? I see no one near or in the street."

While I wait for back up I walk around the house attempting to look through windows for any one, or any movement but all the blinds and shades were covering the windows. So I walk back up front and wait for my back up.

"PC-8, we've got about 3 minutes until the RP for the call shows back up "

Pc-6 on scene.*I quickly run up to Linda..*
I'm going to kick in the door ok?

(At scene 21:13)
I stop one block out and step out to put on my coat. Then get back in and turn up the dispatch radio.

(Time: 21:16)

*I arrive at the scene and see Lt. Raven parked on the roadside. I turn of my siren as I go past but leave my warning lights on. I grab the radio mic:*

"PC-7 on scene."

*I see the other police cars parked in front of a house, and stop right behind PC-8's Charger.
I put my car in park and get out, taking out my nightstick from my belt as soon as I get out. I jog up to the door of the house to support Linda and Libor who are standing by to breach the door.*

'What's the status here?" *I ask the other guys.*

(21:17)
"Libor is about to kick the door in" *I say back to Halls*
I draw my side arm and get ready for Libor to make entry

Here we go, police dept were coming in. *I kick the door in and see a woman on the ground with a knife wound and the back door open*

"Fire POV Sierra-One-Lima (S1-L as in Lt) standby for request from Entry units."

"Police entry units advise situation"


((Raven is sent as a primary medical aide unit in his POV while his unit trains. He is in station wear with an ERT Jacket, not full turnouts.))

We have one victim known, suspect not seen, securing area, have ALS-1 respond code 3. We will be checking victim when scene is clear.

I pull up. "Libor, Should I stay in the ambulance until suspect is found?"

"Ewan will be on scene shortly. ETA less than on minute"

"Ok, so I will wait for Ewan before leaving the ambulance. Also is the scene safe for EMS?"

"We are securing now, once house is safe you can come in we will let you know."

*I look around checking the house for any sign of the suspect. I lock the doors so he cant get back in.*

'Halls and Linda, you want to clear upstairs? Im going to secure down here and check the victim.'

*I bend over the patient and see that she is breathing slightly and has a slight pulse.*

"Pc-6 als-1, victim breathing, slight pulse, lost a lot of blood. Once they secure upstairs, you are cleared to come in."

I pull up in front of the house and grab the medical bags. I put on my PPE and check vitals.

Halls I will take the right side of the 2nd story you take the left.
I walk up stairs with my gun drawn and the flashlight on top. I enter the first room on the right side and its clear. I walk to the next room and check the entire room and its clear. I go to the last room on my side and everything is clear.
"Officer Linda to Libor, right side of the second story is clear and secure, Halls will be clearing the left side"

"Thanks Libor" I say as I get out the ECG. I walk in and begin an IV.

"Ridgeback the scene is not clear yet"

"Ridgeback can we have a update on the Patient?" I say settling into my new office at COPA. "I think I'm going to like this."

**I continue to monitor the situation.**

*I go up the stairs with officer Linda, my nightstick along my forearm to protect myself and increase mobility. I get my flashlight out too.
As we get up I take the first room on the left, a bedroom. No one is there, I look under the bed and in the walk-in closet to make sure. I exit, and go into the next room, a study. Only a desk and an old computer in there. Last room is a small toilet, no one there either.*

"All clear!" I announce on the radio.

*I walk back down and talk to officer Libor.*

'Should we get a search going, put out a description?'

"Copy that units, please meet with OSC to determine if a search of the neighbourhood is required"

I look over at Daniels, settling into his new desk space on one of the dispatcher spots, in a brand new uniform, the beige shirt still clean pressed with the COPA patch on his left arm.

10-4, ems clear in. All units be advised suspect not located, description pending. Hall, you can begin patrol of the area. Linda, can you search the area around on foot, I'll remain on scene with Ems.

"Received Libor will search the area on foot"

I walk out into the front yard and grab my mic and call COPA
on the radio

"PC8 to central, the people that called in this call is there anyway you can try to contact them and get them to meet us at the house to see if they can give us a discription?"

*I jog out to my patrol car and get in, turn of the emergency lights and drive off from the scene to search for the suspect. I turn on my spotlight and point it towards the right side of the street so I can see what goes on in the shadow of the streetlights.*

Copa, where are the witnesses?

(Oh sorry I thought Libor meant house was safe sorry) I go back to the ambulance and I call Mitch, the patients vitals arent good."I say into the radio

(no problem)

I get out of the ambulance hearing I am allowed on the scene and put a c-collar on the victim and get the vic on the back board. I wheel the victim to the ambulance. "Libor, Thanks for watching me. Do you think an officer should go with me to make sure the guy doesn't follow us?"

"Alright, I'll follow you back" I say

I continue walking on down a couple of blocks with my flashlight shining everywhere.
"PC8 to PC6, walked up and down two blocks and have no possible suspects. Any other ideas?"

"Command, I'm alerting the Neighbourhood watch in the area for suspcious activity, maybe we'll get a hit that way"

10-4 dc, linda you can return to scene, and then patrol by car, im locking up the house and doing the same soon. DC, can you get a description from the 911 callers?

I walk back to the house climb into my cruiser and start it up.
"PC8 to PC7 where have you patrolled looking for the suspect"
I turn to get onto the street turn on my spotlight and start driving looking everywhere possible.

"Rodger that Ridgeback" ((Don't worry about it))

"PC-8 this is PC-7, I'm heading west down north twin road and then I'll go north and up a few blocks, why don't you head south onto Boader Road etc?"

*I keep driving slowly down the road, no sight of the suspect yet.
I think to myself that sufficient time has passed now that he could have gotten into a car or escaped into another building by now...*

"Roger PC7 I have gone southbound and still haven't seen anything. I think your right"

"Command, they said they are waiting outside, however they don't want to come over unless an officer approaches them. We've got a vampire, a scream and a grim reaper. Should be waiting two houes down."

*I reach the end of North Twin Road and turn back. Still no sign of any perpetrator... I turn onto Boader Road north towards Second Avenue and search the quiet streets there. After about five more minutes of driving I still see no one... I look at the clock on the dashboard, it's close to 22:00 now. I grab the radio:*

"PC-7 to PC-6, no sign of any suspects northwest of scene. I think we've lost him by now... Please advise!"

I go to the hospital, wheel the patient out of the ambulance and give the patient to a trauma team and give them the report. "ALS 1 at hospital all current vic's at hospital. "Should I be on standby until suspect is found?" I ask Mitch over the radio.

The direc tline from 911 Dispatch rings, meaning either I've got another call to worry about, or we've got news.

'ERT COPA, Burke'
'Hey, we've got a call from neighbourhood watch, someone is reporting someone breaking into their shed and remaining, he looks dangerous. Address is 25 South Twin Road'
'Thanks Bill'

"Command, respond code 3 to possible hideout in 25 S. Twin Road shed in back, suspect possibly in hiding."

All available pd go enroute to the shed in stealth. Pc-6 enroute to shed. (stealth is no lights at all including headlights.)

**I lean over to DC and ask him if he wants Ridgeback to stay on standby**

"PC 8 is en route to the shed stealth mode"

"Rodger PC 8, stay in stealth mode"

*I hear the message over the radio and do a u-turn on Boader Road. I drive towards South Twin Road, turning off my emergency lights and hit the blackout-button on my console(deactivates all lights except dashboard light) as I am about to drive onto the street itself. I stop short of the adress and wait for the other units to arrive. I grab the radio mic again:*

"PC-8 at 25 South Twin Road, standing by."

I drive up directly behind Halls and grab my radio
"PC8 is on scene going to wait for PC6"

Pc-6 arriving I pull behind Matt.

'Ok guys get your shotguns ready,then lets move up to the side of the house, im going to speak with the home owner.'
