"Alright man. Let's just get this over with the easy way. If you don't want to tell me your name, give me identification so I can get your basic information."
"Well fine. I'll give you my license." *He hands me his license, I pass it over to Putter with the clipboard.
"Thank you. Now, what's wrong?" I say
"Nothing man." He says
"Than why are you laying here. Kind of an odd place, isn't it?"
"Well. I have a headache, I just want to go to the hospital."
"Alright, let me see your arm so I can take your blood pressure."
"No, man. Don't touch me. I'll get myself there."
"Alright. I can't force you, but just looking at you, I'm concerned for your welfare. Are you positive you don't want to be taken in the ambulance?"
"No. I'll have a friend bring me."
"Alright. We'll give you your license back, and you need to sign a sheet saying we offered treatment but you refused it, okay?"
*I take the clipboard, return his drivers license, and get an RMA sheet out. I flip it toward him and give him my pen, and point to a signature line*
"Just sign down here please. Like I said, this sheet says that we offered treatment and you refused it. Before you sign it, are you positive you don't want us to take you."
"YES!" He yells as he signs his name.
"Alright we'll leave you alone. Have a good day."
*He walks away."
*I get on the radio*
"BLS-1 to PD, you can disregard patient RMA."
"BLS-1 to COPA, we'll be clear, patient RMA'd by action, signed the sheet."
*I put the jump bag back. All equipment is returned. I step into the drivers seat. Shut off all the lights, put it in drive, and return.*
((Sorry, I've been having a bad day. That's why I got lazy and decided the patient would RMA))
