"Turn it over to the police Jansen. Squad one available on scene."

FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORTTime out: 21:03
Fire units due: Squad 1.
Additional units: N/A
Units assisting: PC-5, ALS-1, BLS-1, and Port Authority dive team.
Civilian injuries: One non critically wounded, another dead.
Squad injuries: N/A
Overall satisfaction: 7/10
Fire report:Squad 1 arrived to find a victim with minor injuries, probationary firefighter Florian Jansen started initial treatment until BLS-1 showed up, then Jansen helped prepare the salvage scene as Davis found means of lifting the car from the water and Mitch set up an extrication site. I set up lights as the divers dived to search for the car. The car was found about 15 feet down and full of water. Due to darkness salvage of the car was not as quick, resulting in a civilian death. Car was salvaged and squad one extricated the victim, who was confirmed dead by paramedic Zach Ridgeback. Harbour worker injured by the car was taken to the hospital by BLS-1.
Comments on fire department:Jansen, you did awesome, you did everything you were told and when you had doubts you asked questions. Good job.
Davis, you did everything well as you normally do, keep up the good work, I always love your enthusiasm and eagerness to work, but don't let it get the better of you.
Mitch, same as Davis, you did every thing as you were told, no real complaints from me. As well your eagerness and enthusiasm is wonderful. But like I said, keep it in check.
What we could've done better: If there isn't anything to do, we have brooms, start cleaning things up, put up caution tape if need be, and secure the scene.
Requests:I would like for anyone that has SAR certs to also be SCUBA trained, just in case we get a call out like this again.
Violations:The road that the car lost control on DID NOT have guard rails. If there were guard rails this situation could have been avoided.
Overall:Good job, although the victim wasn't saved, as no one on our truck was diving certified. (Sorry, but my job did NOT give me SCUBA certs) Not a lot of OOC chatter which was good. Let's keep this up!
