Re: What do you think?
Actually, even with the one world government, it still wouldn't work. You look at the countires. I'll take ten for example to prove it would fail horribly
-The United STates would not except rule from anyone except themselves. Studies prove that it is too proud to do that.
-Afghanistan would not accept a rule from another country any more than they are now. They would have to be destroyed completely or there would continue to be greater terror attacks.
-Israel would not accept Egyptian or Palestinian beliefs and vice versa. They would kill each other.
-China would not accept a free world economy. They like their communism too much. And if communism caved, they would get out of control, too happy with capitalism, and too many babies, thus over running us completely.
-Then of course you ahve India. I dn't think they would take rule, but they would not listen to it either, since cows are a no no to do anything to, and assuming almost any other country took over, there would be a huge upheaval in the Indian state because cows were just so easily being killed and what not.
-Many standings would be contested, such as the Pakistani beliefs for women to conceal themselves... Ain't gonna happen.
-And the ruling country would probably not be UAE, and therefore would be very demanding and taxing of that country's wealth (they make crazy stuff because they cannot spend their money elsewhere) The new government would demand they share the wealth.. They wouldn't do that.
-The country of Qatar, the world's wealthiest would realistically become centre of the world, like a one nation wall street, BUT due to the ruling country's wants, they'd probably be squashed, not wanting them to give it up.
-Current wars would continue, only creating more destruction and breaking the world back up. Same with hate. Would countries quit hating each other? No.
-And finally, although we are pretty close to a universal everything now, due to the many differing beliefs, on language, power, money and the like, and just basic human nature to be the best, the world government would either A have 0 real power, like the UN, or B collapse very quickly

Re: What do you think?
Theoretically, it would solve everything, just getting everyone to agree to it would be very hard if not impossible

And even if you did, the next generation would be against something, would probaly be a lot of revoultions. Shit, lots of areas in the world don't even have spoken languages, etc.

Re: What do you think?
it is possible if people want it to happen. If governments want more control over their nation they'd do it

Re: What do you think?
The main problem is finding a point where everyone is happy. Right now, the separate world is the happy point for people. They don't want this one ideology world, because they all want their own things, and to force people to compromise, well, it wouldn't work too well, especially when people have something they like.
A revolution happens when the people want a change, and then they do just that, make a change. It works for a few dozen years, and then the society just crumbles a bit, causing breaks, and then it's back to what it was before, until another revolution kicks in. Look at Russia, it's probably a better example.
Two hundred years ago, a Tsar ruled. The people hated it, so they decided they'd create a communist regime. Worked great at first. Then it because just what it was like with the Tsar. People hated that too, and then crumbled it. And now we have a capitalist Russia.
What I'm trying to say is that it may work at first, if you can convince everyone to join on board, but it would take one of three major events. A, the world becoming just another landmass in a series of habitable areas, which gives us something MORE to go for, B a massive, powerful take over, resulting in the oppression of many to form what is perceived as best for all, or C, slowly working towards a better UN type thing, forming first regional governments like NAFTA and the EU, then joining those together to create a bigger few governments (however for one to form on this rate, it would require something like A to happen)
People want to have something bigger to look at, and if the world has one government, then it'll be nothing to look at, plus the leader would most likely be Chinese or Indian, as they have the largest populations on earth, and it's almost guaranteed that people would vote for someone from their country, to see their traditional country views represented... Maybe if this started hundreds of years ago, or even was ran totally out of sight of people, by controlling large corporations (see Illuminati) but I don't see a world gov coming into play any time soon
OH
wait I just read something on the site (I glanced it first time) and it said it'd base off of the US Constitution and something else. That is the automatic failing point. Try to convince Afghans and Iraqis to wilfully adopt the US set of rules when there has been soldiers there from US for over a decade, causing hundreds and thousands of civilian casualties. Too many differing ideologies for this to work, the world is too big
