Airport Assist Call

The
Johnson International Airport Air Traffic Control is
requesting ERT for assistance with an emergency landing. The aircraft is
a 12 seater single prop plane, 10 occupants, with nose landing gear
failing to extend, it's currently circling the airport to burn off fuel.
PAAP is on scene with the Johnson ARFF Team. COPA will advise when
aircraft is on final approach, and when it touches down. Units Due:
Pumper-11
Squad-1
Any Medical Units cleared from calls
ES-1
Units are to standby for orders from COPA.


Please note runway sketch. Plane may take either runway. Please stage in grey area.
Time: 1954h
Weather: Clear
Concerns, Pilot is trained to land, so there shouldn't be any explosions or anything, but it is expected that all will suffer injuries to some extent.

"BLS-1: Copies Traffic"

*After getting my uniform on and grabbing a radio and mic, I jump into the passenger seat of the truck and wait for Mastro.*

*Once Mastro get's in I pick up the mic and advise dispatch*

"BLS-1: Is enroute"

*As were on our way to the scene we have one vehicle who won't move out of the way*

'Can he not hear us?'

'Oh it's a woman'

*I say as we go by*

*Once we arrive at the gate we are told to show ID so that we could enter the grounds, once past the gate I advise dispatch*

"BLS-1: Is on scene staging"

*I call Cressler on his cell, since I know he's been in a bit of a white cloud mood recently, and as soon as he goes, something interesting comes up*
'Hey, it's me, the DC, if you want, stop by the HQ, and we'll at least get you something in on this call. You can help handle communications, it's pretty simple'

*I hear my phone ring while i'm making a pot of tea*
'Awesome sounds great I'll be right in.'

*I answer my beeper to see an emergency alert on the screen. I leave my McDonalds from it's tray, and walk out to the Supervisor Truck, checking EAT when I put the car in accessory*
I read the info, turn on my lights, and pull out code 3 to the scene
"COPA, be advised, ES-1 en-route code 3 to Johnson For staging. I'll set up EMS command."

* The beeper disturbs my evening meal with my wife. After a quick read, I give my wife a quick kiss on the cheek, quickly change into EMS gear, and run to the EDRC that I've backed into the drive way to get out quicker. I flick on the lights and head out.

"EDRC to COPA, responding code 3 to airport assistance call. Shouldn't we bring the MCU to this call?"

I hear the station's alarm and my beeper go off, then I quickly get on my bunker gear and hop in the squad, waiting for the others to hop in.

*I run to the squad at the sound of the alarm. I run to the driver's seat, where I kept my gear, and quickly put on my boots and coat. Then I climb onto the steps and get in the cab. I start the engine, put on the headlights, and close the door and wait for Raven to clear us.*

"Given the nature of this call, the MCU is on standby and being prepped however will not be brought yet. It will only need to be requested if several people are of RED nature, owever given the information I've received from ATC, it shouldn't be neccesary"

* I swear loudly at a driver failing to yield, obviously missing the flashing lights and siren on my car as I turn onto the interstate.

"EDRC to COPA, received. Suggest having a driver for it standing by, so we don't have to wast time shuttling one back in case this one gets messy. ETA...10 to 15 minutes."

"S1C, I'm responding from Fort Basio Code 3. ETA 10."

*works my through traffic once I get off the base*

"RA-1 Cleared on Fort Basio, responding Code 3 to Johnson from the ETC, ETA 5."
*I hit the siren as Doug pulls us out of the complex.*

((It's been 15 hours.))
"Squad 1 reponding from Station Code 3."
*I flip on the lights, put the truck in drive, and pull out of the station. Then I close the garage, turn on the wail, and blast the air horns as I pull out into traffic.*

(It has been 11 just saying not that I'm telling you to edit just advising)

(Actually, it's been 22, since this was dispatched at mightnight my time, and davis posted 2245)

No dispatch was at 10pm my time its now 9pm

(what? are you talking to me? if so i was just clearing them because the airplane is ready to land)

*assuming that this one might get ugly, I step into my boots and pull up my pants in case manpower is needed. I have a seat on the bumper of the truck and listen to the radio traffic at the scene*

I get in the ambulance and head over. "ALS 1 enroute code 3"
