INTRUDER ALERT

I'm clear of explosives in my area.

"Alright, what hasn't been searched yet?"

"The ground around the building is clear of explosives"

"Burke, should I find out if the state police or FBI have bomb disposal equipment?"

Aren't we clear?

"If the whole building was searched, than yes, we are clear. Either way, I'll go down and brief the state police and the Feds. I just wanted to know if I should request bomb disposal."

"PC8 is clear going to station"

**I walk down to where the state police and FBI have stationed their vehicles. There's also a fire engine from the Phoxlind Fire Department's Industrial Station.**

Me: 'I'm Lieutennt Bucello. As of right now, I'm in charge of the ERT's TAC team. I need to speak with the most senior state patrolman, the FBI Special Agent in Charge, and someone from the fire crew.'

**They walk over.**

State Patrolman: 'I'm Lieutenant Nick Palmer, state police.'

FBI Agent: 'I'm Special Agent Terry Bechtol, Special Agent in Charge, FBI.'

Firefighter: 'I'm Heath Truong, with the Phoxlind Fire Department.'

Me: 'Alright. Well, what we had here is, a few hours ago, a pair of armed gunmen breached the security perimeter around the compound and got access to the main building. We don't know what they planned to do, but we were able to get them both. They both had on body armor. One had a Russian-made RPK machine gun, and the other had a Chinese Type 81 machine gun. They both had Russian Markov pistols. We searched for explosives, but we didn't find anything.'

FBI Agent:'It looks like the press is expecting a statement.'

Me: 'Tell them to wait. The dc will decide whether or not to go in front of the cameras, and who is going to speak. Understood? Thank you for your time, gentlemen.'

**I look up and see a pair of news helicopters hovering outside of the perimeter.**

"COPA, the press wants a statement."

"This is understood Bucello. ATC hasbeen informed that they must advise the helicopters that this is restricted airspace and they ahve 5 minutes to exit it or all crew on board will be arrested. When we have cleared the area, I will provide a statement"

With the ERT security staff checking around the building one last time, I head to my quarters, take off my TAC gear, put on my Class A uniform and start preparing a brief press statement to give in about 30 minutes.

After that an interview witht he suspects will determine the reason

**I go back over to where Lieutenant Palmer, Agent Bechtol and Firefighter Truong are standing.**

Me: 'Okay, the District Chief will be speaking soon. Probably no one else will be joining him, but if anyone does, it will be me or Sergeant Libor.'

State Patrolman: 'Okay.'

Me: 'By the way, those helicopters should never have been allowed near the facility. They're leaving now, but in the future, they're subject to being tracked by anti-air radar and the crew is subject to detainment. Agent Bechtol, I'd like you to relay that to the local media.'

FBI Agent: 'Sure.'

**I walk to the RRT Truck and drive it back to Alpha Base. I remove the Assault gear and go back to Burke with my regular uniform and prepare for the press conference.**

((Usually, when aircraft fly into restricted airspace, they're "painted" by radar that would normally guide anti-aircraft missiles, so the conversation with the FBI agent is not out of the question.))

((ERT airspace is fine under normal circumstances, but when we go into lockdown, airspace within 1 mile of the area becomes restricted to all unauthorized aircraft))
After a quick change, short phone call and a quick write up, I pop on my Uniform cap and walk outside the gates to meet with the press.

"Good afternoon everyone, at approximately 10:25 am this morning, an unauthorized vehicle crashed through the front gates of the ERT complex and parked outside of the main administrative building, housing our main offices as well as our centre for operational planning and administration. After a report of two armed intruders on base, we issued a lockdown order at 10:26, calling all ERT police units as well as any other available officers in the area to this location. All our other emergency services were locked away safely. Over the next everal hours two armed intruders were detained by ERT officials and are currently being interrogated. This men are believed to be linked to the arson at Fort Basio involving a structure early this morning. No further information regarding the connection of these two incidents will be released at this time. No injuries were sustained to any personnel on scene from any of the involved agencies. The reason for attack is still unclear at this time, however ERT will be returning to regular operations within the hour.. Now you may ask any questions you may have."

"Luke wells, Fox News. Why were our choppers sent away?"
"Well Luke, during a lockdown, all airpsace within 1 mile of ERT complex is considered restricted as aircraft may pose a threat to security, either by providing suspects with a top down view, or another form of entry, or several other reasons."
"Tina Jackson, JYXS news. It is my understanding the ERT is home to a communications centre, known as COPA, which aside form managing all units of the ERT also takes 911 calls. Also, since this is the national office for the ERT, will this lockdown have any affect on the rest of the ERT throughout the country?"
"Yes COPA does handle 911 calls. COPA is a highly proctected office space, with solid steel walls and floors, and requires special access to enter. During a lockdown, the doors can only be opened from the inside out. And no, each ERT runs independantley on their own COPA and distrcits system."

Libor to all units scene is safe.

**I watch the press conference as the reporters continue to ask questions. It occurs to me that the guns used were probably connected in some way. I call over Agent Bechtol.**

'You might want to get in touch with the ATF, see what information they have on the guns we recovered at the scene. See about contacting the army about that arson near their base as well.'

**I go back to the press area.**

"Who is currently transporting the suspects?"

The city guys took them.

'Thanks, Libor.'

**I watch the press conference as it winds down. A handfull of reporters have already left.**

*Before the press conference starts and the reporters arrive I return to my vehicle where the prisoner is still sitting, watched by the TSD personell.
I dismiss them with a thank you, unlock my vehicle and lock my shotgun back in the rack.
I sit down in the drivers seat and take a minute to breath. Then I grab the radio mic:*

"Command this is PC-7, do we have debrief or are we clear, over?"

*I remember that I need to book the detainee and continue to gather some information from the last case I was on.*

"A report will be released containing all information"

((Why the HELL did we send the suspects to PPD headquarters? First of all, federal offenders would be sent to a federal department for interrogation, secondly I said they were being interrogated, not that we turned them over... Remember, we have non player officers too... They don't go to calls, theya re just office jockeys))

"To clear taht up, the suspects are at alpha base being interrogated. They have confessed to the arson. Official reasons will be relased with report"

(I thought all suspect from the city came here? O well they brought them to alpha base.)

"Are we clear?"

((PPD books theirs, we book ours, TSD books theirs unless it's above their capactiy, then we book them, all federal or state ones in Phoxlind area, we take too.))

"You're clear by me, dunno if the OIC wants you around though"

"Libor DC is done with us, can we go ahead and clear"

*I put my car in drive again and drive over to the police HQ to have the suspect booked. I park by the officers entrance, take him out of the back seat and walk him into the processing room. He is for some reason a lot calmer and cooperative now...
After a brief talk with the officer of the watch and signing some papers, he's off to a cell and I'm off to gather more details of the domestic violence case.*

pc-6 clear, on patrol.

**I make sure that the RRT Truck is properly parked, then I walk back to Alpha Base.**

"TAC RRT is available for support."

*I holster my pistol and return to my car,* "PC-5 clear"
